Re: Stage III Cancer Survivors .... 10+ Years and Out
I was waiting for my annual mammogram, happily back at BRRH and its women's institute, now in its luxurious new quarters. I realized - it's ten years ago almost exactly that I got my original diagnosis. All was well today - state of the art 3D images and all. Sending good thoughts to you all, wherever you are on your unwanted journey.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Sea day. Had a facial and love them. Bought a package of 3, so one more to go. Don't do mani-pedis, so this is my self-care treat now that I no longer get hair frosted. Mother nature took care of that for me.
Missed yesterday's excursion on El Salvador due to sketchy tummy. I've had this off and on since we flew to Seattle, but this is the first i had to miss something. Had to apply gentle pressure to get a refund, since their policy of 48 hours notice is not something I could predict. Asked if I saw ship's doctor as well and that's a hard no. Explained situation to agent who then spoke to her manager who gave refund. DH said trip which was listed as moderate exertion was actually quite grueling with some returning to the bus almost immediately. Chances are I wouldn't have made it anyhow. My left knee is just about 6 months out, but still not where it will be in 6 more months.
Taco, thanks for missing the quotes. I will resume them in November on my return. Hope your DD's well doesn't run dry.
We are heading to Costa Rica for next port of call and have an excursion planned. DH exploring cruises for 2027 already.
Waving "hi" to everyone. Hope everyone has a great day.
Re: Having surgery in October 2025? Let's support one another here!
To @cbswastate :
I’m so glad to hear your surgery went smoothly and that you’re feeling well enough for a walk — that’s a great sign. It’s completely normal for the anticipation to feel worse than the procedure itself. Wishing you a smooth and gentle recovery ahead. 💗
To @marlegal :
Sending you strength and support as you head into surgery. It’s understandable to feel nervous, especially after everything you’ve already been through. Take things one step at a time — we’re here for you and thinking of you. 💕
To @risinggoddess :
It’s completely understandable to feel scared, overwhelmed, and uncertain — so many people in this community have felt the same way. Getting a second opinion is a smart move and can help you feel more confident about your choices. Whatever you decide, you deserve a treatment plan that feels right for you, and we’re here to support you through it. 💗
Re: STEAM ROOM FOR ANGER
Got a pink t shirt from a former boss. I know she lost her mom to BC years ago so now every year she feels the need to send me something. Of course is almost always something that does not fit my now marred body with more weight than when worked with her or something so awful and offensive to me sure would not use. Knowing she is trying to be kind and supportive since she knows of my history since had surgeries when working there can't be too insulting. It is hard to say do not send me pink stuff anymore!!! I have gotten some nice flowers before though that were nice one year though and enjoyed them. They are fake ones and use them in the spring and a pretty scarf to use that has some pink and red and white in there and not all pink. It is the pink and the books about people who have died from cancer do not like. Also shirts with things on them would not wear.
Re: Stage III Cancer Survivors ...Five + Years and Out.
It's wonderful to see so many people doing so well. Thank you to all who have shared their stories
I was wondering if anybody has reached 5 years despite a poor response to neoadjuvant chemo. I'm looking for some hope any inspiration!
