Re: how about drinking?
Today was packing day (I've had everything set out, just needed to put in luggage), ran a couple quick errands and mani/pedi the kids gave me for my birthday. I waited till the trip so my hands will last more than a couple days.
Saw a NP at PCP office yesterday. I've only seen her once or twice before. She gave me an Rx as she asked if I was prone to sinus infections (yes - 2 in past 6 months) and were these symptoms typical - yes. I had one dose at dinner yesterday. I never felt truly awful, but was tired of hacking away, drippy nose and headache. Still coughing and stuffy nose.
Needed to stay organized today so I'm wasn't doing anything last minutes. Unfortunately, I have a little too much produce that will have to be given away or thrown away. Thankfully a friend could take a lot of it, but I still have to through our milk and cream cheese. I had everything stuffed in our spare fridge last week till the new one arrived on Friday, some food got hidden!!
Weather is heating up in Denver. Tomorrow 96, then triple digits next 3 days and 98 on Monday. So we are going from hot to hot!!
Now at 10:30, everything is ready to go. Need to make lunches to take with us. Be sure to empty the fridge, take out the trash and figure out what lights to leave on. Our son will check on the house weekly to water inside and outside plants. A friend is plant sitting my hanging basket and another plan. She has a green thumb so hopefully they will do better.
We don't need to leave for the airport till 9, but I plan to get up at 5 so I can do my under the desk elliptical, shower and walk all by 8 - DH will call Uber at 8:30. Our flight is at 11:40. It will be a long travel day!
Sweet dreams
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Hello all. I'm not very good at checking in. Ive been living my life, and watching my sons life fade.
But, my son passed away yesterday. His cancer just couldn't be brought under control. His wife, 2 of our kids, and my husband and myself were with him. Our 3rd child had seeen him on Sunday, and had just taken his medicine, which puts him out for a couple hours, so we told him not to come. Cancer sucks.
I'm sorry I don't have happy news, maybe later I'll fill everyone in on goid news.
I hope everyone here is living the goid life.

Re: IDC and Mental Health
@Love4All Thanks for your comment. I did speak to my rads team and I was told that it is normal and that they would relay my SE to the doctor. I'm going to keep an eye on it and continue to journal my SE. Hopefully, it's just my body reacting to something new.
2 down, 14 to go!
I had my follow up with my MO today and will be starting letrozole either today or tomorrow (depending on how quickly my pharmacy gets my prescription). I should start Trelstar on August 1. I'm considering an oophorectomy but I need more information. I just don't know if I can get injections for the next 2+ years. But I also don't want to go through another surgery. I'm going to sleep on it, pray, and do lots of research.

@Love4All I thought so, but just wanted to make sure. I ordered the cream you suggested. Thanks for that! 😘
Re: Starting Chemo May and June 2024 Support Thread
@Love4All The stylist was planning to take it all the way to the scalp but I stopped her lol. There are some painful spots and I'll check out the arnica cream. I'm not familiar with that. And I do have a tape roller and have been using it a few times a day, just like you say. So glad your dad was able to come and visit. He looks wonderful as do you! Don't forget to put sunscreen on your scalp! Enjoy his company!
Re: Starting Chemo May and June 2024 Support Thread
Saturday, I just wasn't ready to let go of my hair. Sunday, it got to the "too messy" point and I was emotionally ready. Monday, a stylist friend I've known forever buzzed it, at no cost, which was sweet of her to do. She wanted to take it down to zero but I asked her to leave a little on it. I read about the possibility of ingrown hairs; she hadn't.
Tuesday was day 1 of Cycle 2…. moving right along
@sarahjunefox @bailey.boo I switch up depending on what I can handle. I do jigsaw puzzles, diamond art, and I crochet. I started working on a shawl for fall, but not convinced it's right so I'm fixing to rip it out and start over. I also am going to do some chalk crafting, it's DIY home decor. I don't have much of an imagination, so I need guided projects. Let me know if y'all have any other suggestions. I'm retired and need to keep my mind busy!
Re: Paget's or something else
I was able to see a dermatologist today. I also have an appointment next week with a breast specialist (surgical oncologist) that my PCP referred me to. The dermatologist said it might be as simple as eczema but she said it definitely needed a biopsy. She asked if I ever had eczema or any other skin conditions in the past (I haven't). And whether there has been any irritation on the areola too (there hasn't).
I knew I would push for a biopsy if she tried to say one wasn't needed but there was a part of me that hoped she would say she was certain it couldn't be Paget's or it is definitely something else. But she never said that. I'm glad I didn't have to push for the biopsy but I'm scared because she seemed concerned.
I should have results back in a week she said.
