Sfcakes - Very interesting and helpful to read about your experiences with these scans. I completely agree that having to get the scans is anxiety inducing enough, and then even worse when there are errors or possible errors to worry about. I'm hoping that as happened with both you and Intolight, my oncologist will be able to offer some sort of mitigating commentary when I see him on Thursday. He seems to be real good at that. That's one of the great things about the doctors. They can know enough additional information to make a positive difference, but when I, as a layperson read the scan reports, I only have what the report says there at hand, with no other meaningful facts at my disposal.

My oncologist just called. She conferred with other radiologists and they all think it is just a finer resolution of what has been there before. Different types of scans show things clearer and in different types of tissues, etc. It fits with our discussion of CT, vs, Pet, vs MRI vs bone scan. So she wants me to keep on with my current treatment and she will rescan in three months. I am good with this. I have had liver metastasis since my first scan eight years ago so I think this may be right. My cancer also seems to grow slowly and my markers are unchanged with no new symptoms. Different scans have showed different things in my liver in the past. Thank you for your prayers and letting me take you with me on this wild journey.

Lew died this afternoon. He fell off our roof Wednesday morning and landed on his face on the concrete sidewalk, severe bleeding in his brain. Had surgery, was on a respirator. He was worse again this morning, the doctors had a conference with the whole family and explained the poor prognosis and we were all in agreement to stop the respirator, which we did. We were all with him and his sister had a video on her phone of her and his mother singing Jesus Loves Me that they played by his ear, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. We had hoped he'd be able to donate his corneas but his eyes were so swollen that wasn't possible. We're hoping to have a Mar 25 (Good Friday) memorial service, but need to see if that works for the funeral home. My cousin picked up my dad and brought him here for a visit, at 89 I didn't want him driving here alone.
I'm in such a fog. I held together pretty well most of the time at the hospital where I could be in "nurse mode" as his advocate, but can break into sobs at the least thing here at home.

Hi Laguna, I took was dx with ILC mets after nearly 13 years. I was infuriated, to say the least. The thing I hate about ILC is it tends to recur in soft tissue-mine did. Right now I'm on 150 mg Verzenio daily and injections of Fulvestrant every month. So far (it's been since Nov. 23) things have been okay. I hope you are doing well considering. PM me if you like. I'm always looking for long term survivors but I haven't found a lot of information that's been helpful on the ILC mets thread. I just try to hope for the best and exercise a lot so I don't have energy to spend on anxiety, which I suffer from.

I go in for round 2 on Thursday. It’s my first round since learning I’m actually stage 3, and your post is a great reminder that side effects just mean it’s working, and all the better if a little TOO well 😊

@candy-678 Thanks for asking thoughtful questions. No, liver mets are not new for me. I had several with my first denovo diagnosis, but they have been "quiet" for many years with only a minor speck here and there over my past eight years of treatment. I had numerous bone lesions originally too. What is a shock for me is that the rest of my body is NEAD so right now I have liver only mets. Yes, I will ask my onc about possible changes in estrogen status and whether a biopsy is warranted. I have never had my liver biopsied as the lesions were always too small before. The tech said I have "at least ten" lesions now spread all over the liver including both lobes. The picture that I can see shows spots everywhere. My tumor markers have never been reliable for me and they still register very low—like 8 and 10. I have an onc appt scheduled in two weeks but I know my onc will call me soon and either move it up or start the change discussion now. She is good about that.
