I am so sad to learn of Jackie's passing. I thought she was doing well, which makes the news a shock. I know her dh is devastated. I never met Jackie (Illinois Lady) in person but feel like she was a good friend.

@betrayal - I am so very sorry to read this. I did not know that Illinoislady was in any particular crisis. Thank you for letting us all know. Very sad to hear. My sincere condolences.

I am shocked beyond words and so sad to learn of Jackie's passing. I copied the link. I will miss her because we've been bc friends since 2009 when I "met" her online here on bc.org.

Betrayal, thank you for doing the research that the rest of us were afraid to do. We knew of her cardiac issues, so it seemed likely, but still we hoped. She was a blessing for all of us, and a peacemaker, as well. I will be praying.
I finally called the police on my pot-smoking neighbor. He stopped, but no telling when he will start again, and he told me that he does not care about how it affects me. At times I felt like I was trying to function normally, but walking through mud up to my neck (but actually upside down in mud). Afraid of dementia. Often among high-functioning people it is diagnosed late. Next time I will have to call in a witness because he WILL complain prejudice. He faces more time for doing this.
We have a picnic today. I have prepared a bowl of cucumber and onion refrigerator pickle but expect it to be tossed. The cancer support group here has fixated on dogs as the sole source of infection during chemo, and mine was too mild to count. Unless it is an analogy to my compassion for my neighbor.

@AJ - As always, I really appreciate your sympathies and support. Yes, I was really holding out that it wasn't cancer after all. I guess we have to hold out hope as long as possible, and it does happen for some people. The same nurse practitioner I'm seeing later today held that out as a possibility, but I think it was just to try to put me more at ease, so I'd go get the liver biopsy. I'd had 3 or 4 radiologists and the oncologist all saying they were sure it was cancer. Then I mentioned to the nurse practitioner I spoke with at Swedish about histotripsy, about how this NP thought maybe it would turn out benign and she very emphatically said, "Well it's sure not lookin' like that!" None the less, I held out for the possibility that they were all mistaken. Oh well. I'm really glad to know that your liver mets have been stable and I just hope for the same for all of us for a long, long time. May we all have the more positive experience that @intolight continues t experience.
@dulcea - Thank you for your comments, and you are so right about how awful the waiting can be - for biopsy results and from 3 month scans to 3 month scans. It's no way to live, but what are we to do, with no other options? I too think I could use some of Soldanella's ability to see more of the positive and less of the negative.
@soldanella - Wishing both you and @dulcea lots of luck with the Enhertu. My understanding is that it's a virtually brand new drug, showing lots of promise.
I'll be seeing the NP later today and also getting my Faslodex shots. I will try to look for the positives in these afternoon appointments. Hoping the NP can contribute something informative. I hope everyone has as good a day as possible. Hugs to all.

@threetree I am glad to see that you are past the biopsy part. The waiting is always that hardest part. I hope you get some “good” news on mutations.
I am another 2023 stave IV girl but I dont seem to be able to get past the three month scans. Every time I have a scan, I end up on a new treatment. Once on Verzenio, I had almost 100% cleaning but then the next scan showed a different story. I also had to change from PET scans to CT scans (insurance…) and since they really couldn’t compare the two, I stayed on the then current treatment which three months later, showed it wasn’t working. I HATE living three months at a time! If I didnt suffer from anxiety before, I certainly do now.
@soldanella, I need a little bit of your outlook. Thank you for your positive words.

@cookie54 - Thanks so much for the sympathies; they are very appreciated. I do think the one step at a time is the way to go, and I'm going to give it my best shot. I do appreciate all the support from everyone here (the "overflowing pocket" as you say), and am taking everyone's nice thoughts and comments with me to my appointments this afternoon. I am hoping for some more information. They did say that the liver samples have estrogen receptors, so would be ER+. They didn't mention PR or HER, and no new info has come through MyChart. I'm wondering if that means there's just an assumption then that the PR and HER are negative? I'll be sure to ask about that and a lot more a little later.
@irishlove - Thanks so much for all the good thoughts and sending out of prayers (re your "if accepted" I absolutely accept prayers from those who are really serious about and them and really believe in them, but not from those who want to cram any of their personal religion onto me or others.) I'm kinda/sorta religious, and kinda/sorta agnostic, and the religion I have is a real eclectic hodge-podge of all sorts of things from looking to "the universe" for answers and offering vibes, to appreciating certain saints and what they stand for, to Buddhist and Hindu sorts of things, meditation (which is universal), to loving traditional old medieval church music and traditional ritual a la Anglicanism and Catholicism - if that makes any sense at all. I think all of it has something to offer and let us ponder, while being comforting at the same time. I like to think we are all looking for the same thing in the end, and that there are many means to that end, depending on how, where, and when we grow up, what we read, explore on our own, our life experiences, and so much more. (Well, had no idea I'd be going off on all that, but there it is.) Also, I just love Shepherd's Pie, but don't think I've ever had it with fish. Sounds really good. Haven't had any for a long time - makes me think about looking around for some, as I'm not about to cook it. I also agree that @cure-ious really makes some very good and informative posts about all sorts of good stuff.
I also wanted to mention earlier how much I feel for you re your relationship with your sister. I am so sorry about the situation. I have a sister too and we don't speak - not anything I will go into here, but it's just one of those things that some of us have to accept and know that we've tried beyond all reason and that there is just nothing more we can do. I do hope however, that things improve.
@mara51506 - Glad you will be seeing your brother and sister-in-law. I hope you all have a real nice time together!
Well I guess I better finish my tea and start getting ready for the doctor's office, the NP, and those damn shots.
