Hi @kitty75 , I'm incredibly impressed at your research and knowledge. I was diagnosed with DCIS in Nov24,(not IDC) and have been reading everything i can since then too. I haven't come across the tests you cited to understand your reoccurance rates etc, but yet to see an oncologist so will be asking.
I'm perimenopausal still (i think - i have a merina IUD) and on HRT. The impact of going from HRT to being on tamoxifin to me seem extremely harsh, and difficult to manage. Especially when low grade. I'm not opting for further endocrine therapy (even though receptor positive).
I read a book called Oestrogen matters and this really gave me a bit of insight on the effect of hormone blockers on your body.
I'll be following this thread to understand what advice those in a similar situation provide. Also, I'm interested in hearing what you learn and decide, so keep us updated.
All the positive vibes to you, there's so much conflicting advice - especially when you start to look at the reality of the side effects vs your own quality of living.

Love Linda Ronstadt! My favorite is her double album with arrangements by Nelson Riddle, who did all of Frank Sinatra's arrangements.
So glad you got the grant. Dealing with this disease is hard enough without having to worry about the cost.
Noticed your comment about taking Xgeva every 3 months because of the cost. I have been taking it every month for 3 years, but am switching to every other month based on a study that followed women who did 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months dosing. There was no discernible difference in the effect on bone strength or protection against bone mets among the groups.
I also read an interview with one of the doctors who developed Xgeva. He was asked why there was no long-term dosing plan for the drug and he responded that they never expected that any of the women taking it would live longer than 1-2 years. Hah! We'll show him!

Petite, hope the winterizing the cabin goes well.
I had my annual appointment with my bc doctor's NP. She examined my underarms and chest with ultrasound. Everything good. I got my appointment card for next year.
Tomorrow our weather is supposed to drop down to freezing or near freezing. Then next week back to 70's and 80's.

Good morning. I just wrote a long post and it went into cyber space. I am in NC with my niece. The minisplit went in and we now have heat. Yay! The crawlspace basement guy was here and will send an estimate for insulation replacement. I have several weather warnings on the upcoming cold front. It will be down to 31 Sunday, 36 hi and 24 lo on Monday. 23 on Tuesday. We are going to do the complete winterizing before we leave. The leaves are dumping. We cleared the deck and it is already covered, again.

@newfmamainoregon , wow. I hope you didn’t have to pay anything for that! I’m just getting the blood biopsy. Tissue testing three years ago showed no mutations. I guess my oncologist wants to see if any have developed. But I just got scans that showed great improvement. So my treatment appears to be working as it is .

@irishlove I am so glad you got a grant to cover meds deductable, that is great to hear.
@cookie54 Yes, glad I could call. She is tough but I want to give her support, even through verbal support. Not worried about finding out until I see her. Hopefully her Mom feels better soon as well.
Tried out my new wee dryer. It was cheap and I saved up for it, easy to use, just hang it up and plug it in, put a few clothes in and it blows the heat down. Just a fun wee purchase for light clothes drying and delicates as well. I have a drying rack that can be employed on the back of the bedroom door should I need it. I will see.

There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures.
