Petite - glad to hear things are looking up. We’ve had a problem with chipmunks/gophers in our backyard. I think if we did thermal imaging there would be a network of underground tunnels. I’m hoping that removing our inground pool disrupted their environment.
Wren - glad to hear you are mostly stable and hope it continues for a long while. Do you have any significant side effects from the Doxil?
Cindy - 50 is cold for you but it sounds good to me right now. Our forecasted highs over the weekend are in the mid teens.
Betrayal - any nurse that had you for a teacher was very, very fortunate. When reading the profiles of the nurses, NPs and PAs in my area it seems most have completed their degree with a for profit online school. I question how much clinical training they get in that situation. They certainly have their place in our healthcare system however, in Illinois they can practice without MD oversight and I’ve been less than impressed with the outcomes.
Has anyone uploaded iOS26 for their Apple devices? I updated my phone and iPad last night and do not like the look and feel of it. I think it is more difficult to read text, notifications and the device keyboard. I’m guessing a 20 something whiz kid thought the transparency of the background looked cool, but it also makes it harder to read.

Carole, 2 hours of sleep! I complain if it’s under 6. This morning was cool/cold and after I woke up to use the bathroom, I couldn’t wait to get back under the toasty covers. 6 hours 4 mins per Fitbit.
Harley, it was 50 this morning so I took my time getting outside to walk. But with full sun it felt great. Then my knee started to ache and I cut it short. It could be from doing nothing, to getting in 2+ miles of intentional walking. NY niece reported it was 17 and felt like it was 3. So I can’t complain to her.
I’ve moved on to spraying a bees nest, probably wasp actually. I used something called HotShot. I think only 2 in the nest, and as I left I could see one still moving around. But I came inside to look out - it was behind the hurricane shutter, that our neighbor opens for me. I didn’t see it until before Christmas as I was cleaning the guest bedroom. Nothing seems to be moving now but SO has convinced me to leave it alone, for now, and left the spray do its job.
The other night I cleaned up our bedroom and put away everything stuffed in there over the holidays. Tonight I want to organize the walk-in closet, free up some space - to get more things in our bedroom out of sight. Books, workout bag of stuff, etc… I don’t need to look at it daily.
And that’s it for me. Concert tomorrow at the casino. It’s an all day thing, ending with Marshal Tucker band. I’d like to see them, if we make it that long.

Maybe they have been watching us for a while and picked up on the fact that I have degrees in psychology? It scares off people who think I have the ability to mindread. I am no different than all or any of us.
Betrayal, a bunch of years ago I was in for OT, and the idea of a wax bath for my hands caught on and I got one. I got rid of it two years ago, thinking I would never need it again. This morning I washed dishes with gloves on in very hot water. It felt so good!!
I only have two eggs, The coconut cake calls for three.

The diced potatoes and super crispy beefless grounds were quite good and spicy. I am planning to have a basic egg dish, Got another disinfecting wash cycle, going, cats were messy. 3 cycles yet again, after final spin, machine wiped down by spraying disinfecting spray on cloth. I am pretty fastidious on no real germs to deal with. Apartment smells good to me now with the cleaning going on. I also got rid of the spray stuff in the bottle for my microfibre mop, replacing with vinegar and water. Vinegar smell disappears and it smells less like chemicals.
I did not get much done, couch still is not set up for me to use, napped a lot today in between times, I am OK with that, just part of recovery.

Pinkest, thank you so much for sharing your words of wisdom. I am just starting out with my treatment and I am feeling pretty lousy. You are an inspiration to us all fighting this battle and you gave me the hope that I have been desperately seeking.

Re: Going flat or breast reconstruction
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and experiences here! I had nipple-sparing double mastectomy in Sept 2025, and am nearing the end of my weekly Taxol infusions. I will continue with Kanjinti through next Sept. I too am trying to decide upon reconstruction. I am leaning towards staying flat, as I was quite small-busted to begin with. I think having the nipple-sparing surgery also plays a part in maintaining some semblance of "normal" appearance for me.
I am not 100% sure yet if I want reconstruction. I'll be meeting with my PS in a few weeks to discuss further. I appreciate that my recovery from the double mastectomy was relatively smooth. However I don't like the thought of going through multiple future reconstructive surgeries. Thank you for all of your insights about this!

@irishlove I always imagine people talk to their plants that are cared for almost like kids and that they respond well and grow more.
I am presently making some diced potatoes and beefless ground, dry seasoned with garlic salt, taco and white cheddar. Later will put together some lentils and rice done up in air fryer. The beefless ground will be given either salad dressing to bind it all or one of the many remaining condiments I have. It should taste good.

Hi sweet ladies. It sounds like new beginnings are working out. What wonderful news. The support and sharing of information and positive drug interactions, gives us all hope. One thing that I have noticed in my almost 3 years of MBC, most of those that chose to go on hospice did so based on the side effects of the drugs. Just a general observation and I may be wrong. How I wish these manufacturers would spend more time in R and D, instead of pushing to market. Mayo Clinic is now offering a specialized radiation treatment plan, the first of it's kind in U.S. It's been utilized in other countries and is promoted to be an major improvement on treatment and less side effects. I can't recall all that I read, so please check into it if you would like to know more info. The Mayo in Jacksonville is where it's being offered. Can't help but wonder what insurance will say..
We spent half a day this week moving furniture and preparing to move plant stands into the house and by windows. Then today we covered what we could not move and DH lifted my beloved clover and Christmas Cactus into the house. I scooped up the smaller planters. There is one Mexican planter, rather large, that cracked due to the cold last year. We put a bounge chord around it and won't move it anywhere. I can picture it breaking into a million pieces. It has lovely mums in it. We carefully wrapped ground plants and put extra mulch on everything. Here's hoping they all make it. It's hard to describe how important they are to me. You might even catch me talking to them on a daily basis. I'm trying to find ideas for a covered patio that we could move them to and use a heater. It's gotta be something fairly inexpensive and tied into the lanai. Too old to keep doing this.
It is so bittersweet to see the decorations put away for another year. I wonder if I will have another year and DGD will be 12. Still enjoyable (LOL) to buy for and fuss over. Our fresh cut tree is still smelling lovely outside propped by another tree in the garden. The birds love it. In pockets for all your needs.
