Re: So...whats for dinner?
Carole, I hope you enjoy the Rao’s eggplant casserole. The nearest Costco is almost two hours away so I’d have to make an eggplant casserole using Rao’s sauce from scratch. That is doable, however.
The ragweed here has gone. It’s not been a year for spectacular foliage like it was two years ago, probably because of the lack of rain. I’m happy with the sunny weather with temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s.
Dinner tonight was Tuscan garlic shrimp on rice.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Dinner was good. I made 16 corn tortillas and used 8 of them in the chicken enchilada dish. DH made guacamole.
Tonight we'll have one of the trays of Rao's eggplant casserole.
My laptop says it's 49 degrees outside and Sunny. I can see the Sunny. Once we have some rain, desperately needed by the shrubbery, I can start opening up to outside air. Until then, I want to keep the dust and pollen out. When I go outside to do yard work, I immediately start sneezing. The golden rod is thriving in our neighborhood.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Minus, I haven’t had it forever but I really like Tuaca (as well as vermouth and Italian wine.)
Carole, Having a fully stocked freezer gives you many dinner options.
Dinner tonight was leftover lasagna.
Re: how about drinking?
Jazzy - have a wonderful vacation & trip to CA. I desperately want to see the Pacific ocean, but can't seem to get off dead center to plan the trip to see both the ocean & my son. Of course I'm jealous of the jazz concerts. I have a difficult time driving "downtown" after dark at my age, so I'll miss many of the concerts.
Thought you all would get a laugh that my PCP only recommended two thing during my Medicare wellness exam: more exercise and less alcohol. So I now pour my nightly Gin & Tonics in a short glass. Current 2 drinks equal one tall drink. But I haven't really done lots of drinking since I retired 20 years ago and stopped meeting friends for happy hours.
NM - hope things are on track with Mom.

Minus, you convinced me you get protein. LOL.
I like a crustless quiche. A good reminder, Wally. Spinach is always an ingredient, and cheese, of course.
I went to Costco yesterday and ended up spending almost $300. Without cruising at least half of the gigantic store. It is very nice. There were food sampling stations everywhere. One impulse buy was Raos eggplant casserole. The price was $17 for two trays. Reasonable enough to try it. Figuring in the price of eggplants and Rao's, it's probably less expensive than homemade. I also bought a rotisserie chicken and will use some of it for chicken enchiladas tonight. I have ripe avocados in the refrigerator for guacamole.
A woman at one of the food sampling stations spotted the Raos eggplant box and volunteered that she had bought it for herself and her daughter and they both loved it. She first tasted it when it was featured as a sampling item.
Dinner last night was a small pork shoulder chop for each of us. Side was green pea salad. Instead of cubed cheddar, I used cubed gouda from Costco.
My house freezer is now stocked with meat.
One negative about Costco. You can't check out with an app.
Re: calling all t1A (> 1 mm but < 6 mm) sisters who are HER2+
slb11 I am completely shocked too. I hope you are recovering quickly and do keep us updated!
Re: calling all t1A (> 1 mm but < 6 mm) sisters who are HER2+
Just joined the website today, although I have certainly read many posts over the past 4 years for encouragement. I can happily say I am one of the 406 participants for this clinical Phase II study: I was diagnosed with IDC on 7/20/09 with a .09 cm tumor that was Her2+ with slight ER+. I was treated at Mass General & it is now 4 1/2 yrs. later with no disease recurrence. I was grateful that my oncologist recommended my participation in this trial.
