For Pinkstock, Christine and I are meeting in Detroit and flying into Buffalo together, where we'll rent a car and drive to our hotel in Buffalo(Doubletree) then on to Niagra the next day. That's where the Thelma and Louise comes from. I've confirmed Brad Pitt so now we just need to find a '66 T-Bird convertible

Hey Donna - we need to check our itenerary, I think I get to BUF before you and wait there, then we stay in BUF til Thurs, off to the Falls to meet everyone. C'mon funnnest threadsters, let' all hook up there. After the falls we are off to Pinkstock for the weekend!
Just to keep the time straight it is almost 2am, my time and I worked late, now off to bed, sweet dreams!

totally off topic here but I wanted to include you all too.
    Hi ladies.
I started a Nukemboobie exchange several months ago in the Radiation thread. I sent out two boxes filled with goodies, the recipients could take out as many things as they wanted, add the same number of things and send the box to the next person on the list. We also had a journal project going and everyone was writing their "story" or their feelings and adding pictures of whatever they wanted. WELL...the boxes have disappeared. I know where they were last but get no response from my pm's to the girls who had them last. Lost in the mail...not sent onward...I don't know.
SOOOOO....I decided to repost under that thread that I would like everyone to redo their journal pages and send them directly to me as my sister has offered to put them in Adobe and I have a bookbinder who will make them into books for each of us.
The journal was the most important and the most anticipated part of this project and there are some heartbroken ladies who so very much wanted to see the finished project as they put their heart and soul into it along with pictures, drawings etc.
I am inviting anyone here who would like to join in to journal a few pages and send them to me. Add whatever you like and we will include it into the book. Just a loving, encouraging book all about us...our feelings, thoughts, hopes for the future, rants...whatever you wish to say would be included.
If you are interested in joining in...pm me and I'll send you my address.
I will probably repost this a couple more times here so forgive me for repeating myself but I want everyone to see it and get as many pages as I can.
    Love and hugs
    Vickie

Vickie- you are a hard worker and such a big part of this whole site- thank you!

Janis- sorry, it is time to go back to work. Just outta curiosity, whate are you doing with Avery? I am single and my mom has passed away and I always wonder if I ever adopted, as I often think about, would I put an infant in daycare? I have two stay at home SIL's that would give me a day or two, but full time? You can pm if this is too personal or just don't answer. It has just been on my mind.

Oh- BTW, I just had a glass of $6 btl Chard, it was OK, but that was the end of it, so I opened a $14 btl what a diff! I guess you get what you pay for, but I do like some of Trader Joe's cheaper wines. You know, in comparison to Grocery store stuff! LOL

Wow Cheryl- I am impressed with women like you. I guess, like everything else, is it ever the right time? If you just don't do it? We make things happen and are more able than we think. Thanks,

My first day back at work was fine. It went by fairly quickly for some off reason. When I went to pick-up Miss Avery from daycare she didn't seem too excited to see me! I'm hoping it was because she had a good time and wasn't mad at me? She has a cold so maybe that was part of it? She did perk-up once we got home though. Poor little girl still has a cold. She's still cute even when she's fussy!

Not much else going on around here. Same old, same old - dating and other stuff!

    Cheers!

Cheryl - I'm thinking of you and your dad, and praying that everything comes out A-okay.

I had the weekend from hell. Started out so fun - a GF from MO came down and we stayed out ALL night Sat gambling (she was a big winner, I was a big loooser). Got home around 7:45 am Sun (can't remember how many years its been since we've done THAT). We were both exhausted and couldn't wait to wash our faces and go to bed.

Reader's Digest version - my friend was washing her face when the valve on the hot water under the guest bathroom sink blew off and water with the force of Old Faithful was gushing out from under the sink. Neither of us knew how to turn off the water, and I had to call ex to come shut it off. It probably went full force for 15 minutes.

It was like one of those dreams when something horrible is happening and you're helpless and just freaking out....watching your house flood before your very eyes....that was me.

The bathroom totally flooded of course, and water spilled out into the halls and the office. My NEW CARPET that I just got in Dec was standing in about 2 inches of water.

My friend and I sucked up water for hours with a carpet cleaner, and we ripped out all the hallway carpet and carried it out to the deck and draped it over the patio furniture to start drying.

I pried off the baseboards in the bathroom so the sheetrock underneath wouldn't fall apart. I spent tons of time faux painting that bathroom before I moved out almost 2 years ago.

Anywho - I think the carpet is going to be okay, as I've had big fans and a blower on it, and replacing the pad won't be a big deal.

I didn't want to file an insurance claim because my ded is $1,000 and I've already spent $1,000s since Dec when I moved in, and don't have $1,000s just lying around (shocking, I know).

I'm not so freaked out now. I know this happens...the joy of being a homeowner, right? But why couldn't it have happened when the old crappy carpet was still there?

Oh well, I'm just glad my friend didn't get a valve embedded in her somewhere when the damn thing blew off and it looks like I'll get it taken care of for much less than my $1,000 ded.

Thanks for letting me go on and on and on......so much for Reader's Digest version.

Have a great day buds, and let's all have a drinkie-poo tonight, shall we?

    Cheers,
    Donna

    (((Donna)))

Oh, that just sucks! Glad your friend was okay though! Being a (single) homeowner sure does have its disadvantages at times.

I think I'll have a drink for you tonight.....

    Cheers!

Donna- having a glass a vino for you. You and your friend will laugh about it, when you're old and gray together. Right now, I know it seems not so funny.

Janis- got your card. Did you listen to Rainbow Connection, it is my fav on the CD.

CY- I hope things are getting better.

Even if you can't make Pinkstock, check out the T-shirts, susanmcm designed. They are fun and no one is making any money off them. We can just order from the manufacturer.

Junie, thanks for the socks! They're the best! She WILL be a Bears fan and a Cubs fan because I am! And the Halloween socks are great, too! Thanks for the lovely card, I really means a lot to me. This little girl isn't going to have the most conventional baby book but probably the most heart felt one as she has so many wonderful 'aunts'!

    Oh, it's whine time!!!

I hate my job and cannot wait until I find a new one! My days during my 7 weeks off with Avery just few by! Who would think that staying home all day wouldn't be boring? Now, back at work, my days just draaaaag! Ugh! I'm busy but the minutes tick by so frickin' slowly.

Nothing else to report, just laying low and trying to get used to working again while finding some normalcy as a new mom. She's the best and she DOES know that I'm her mom!

    Cheers!!!

Okay, I have been reading these posts for a while, and I have to say that after a very (okay, only at times) straightlaced life, that I would up with all these crappy health problems, so now my attitude is...Party On!!! Even if all my doctors tell me not to drink at all (estrogen positive tumor, you know).
Can we have a national convention sometime? Las Vegas is a convenient airport and has lots of good party opportunites, and helicopter tours of Grand canyon, etc. I am not a gambler myself , but they have lots of good shows there, too. What do you think? (I say in all humility and respect because I am a relative newcomer to this thread) For some reason, having this cancer diagnosis has been liberating for me. So looking to enjoy the company of others with similar attitude...life is short, have a great time! Best, OAQ

Wecome, OAQ! I don't know how to do it; maybe someone will come along who can post an old post--but some of us did meet up in Las Vegas last November and really enjoyed our get-together! And, if you can get back to mid-Nov posts on this thread there are some pics posted. We're sure hoping to do it again!!! Also, keep an eye on the Get-Together thread--lots of get-togethers going on all over!!

.....so, sipping a cold one right now, thinking of my drinking thread buds--hope everyone is having a good evening and the threat of severe weather has lessened for some in the midwest. God! I love spring and trees greening and flowers popping out and tornados!!! Stay safe!

    Janis--give Avery a hug!!!

I start chemo on Monday and I drink about 2-3 beers each night along with some wine. Do I have to give it up? This is what keeps me sane.

Check with your onc. Mine said that one drink per night was okay but I found that I lost my taste for all alcohol during chemo. Good luck to you!

    Hi Ladies!!!

Worked the late shift and Avery is staying overnight at my aunt's house so it's wine tonight to wind down with.

Thanks for thinking of me, Lini. I REALLY need to find me a rich man! I'm thinking I'll even go old like Anna Nicole Smith did. As long as he 'lets' me drink then why not! I'm SO tired of slaving away for a non-livable wage! The wine tonight was free (from a vendor tasting) so I took advantage of it!

Well, cheers to all my drinkin' & non-drinkin' friends!

    Hey Buds~

Just checking in. Welcome to the new gals, pull up a bar stool! This is the funnesstess thread on the boards. (we make up our own words, too.)

Janis - I've been where you are hating your job, and it sucks. Not that I love my job now, but it pays my bills, even if it does bore me to tears. Sending some good luck your way so that you find a fabulous job, with great hours and great pay! And give little Avery a big hug for me!

I've been busy cleaning up my trashy yard. Spending way too much $$ on lawn stuff, but don't have a choice, as I didn't even own a garden hose when I moved in!

Enjoying gorgeous spring weather here! Supposed to get up to 86 degrees today, which I love when I'm not having a hot flash.

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Cheers,

    Donna
