Hey! I'm still up! (It's 10:30) LOVE this time change - sorta. It always throws me out of whack but I really like the extra daylight at night. I'm all for this new DST change! Well, since it's late I guess I should go to bed? But it seems too early!

    Cheers!

    Hi Janis!
It's way past my bedtime, but I am enjoying a glass of The Little Penguin - Shiraz. Not bad...quite a good price too! I worked my butt off today...it's great to relax.

Well Lini you sure had me fooled! I didn't see any 15-20# that needed to come off of you. Our course most people just look at me and say you weigh what?? I don't believe you! But yes I fit that "Obese" catagory too. So I've been trying to hit the gym as I have a problem with sweets as of late! See what happens when you stop drinking you have to subsitute sweets !

Ok Once again I can barely see so I need to make a final round and take some pills so I can sleep!
    Nite all,

    Oh Welcome Angel!

    Hey ladies,

Just dropping in for a quick note. So busy catching up over at the Wagon Circle, there is no time for anything else. I'm not drinking at the moment, doing the South Beach diet. Hate it .

You guys were talking abut weight. I had surgery yesterday, and the nurse asked me, right in front of DH mind you, how much I weigh! I wanted to crawl away, but I put on my big girl panties and said, 170! I guess I'm obese too, at least my BMI is way too high. I am 5'6" and wear a size 12. That's not that bad, is it??

    Size 12??? I wish. I'd kill to wear a 12. I'm 5'7" and haven't been in a 12 since I was in my 30's40's.
With bc and retirement I've put on 70!!! over the past 5-6 years.(bad joints, knee surgeries, several breast and other abdominal surgeries, etc, etc)
Lost 12 over the winter, but no more and I work out 3/wk. Of course I sit on my a$$ and spend way too much time on my laptop. That will end as soon as garden season begins, now that i can actually bend and walk upright like a normal person without a cane.

I know size 12 sounds good. People can't believe I weigh as much as I do. I need a knee replacement and 170 is still 170 and it's tough on my joints. I do work out a lot and have a lot of muscle weight under my fat layer . I used to teach aerobics pre-bc and I was into weight training pretty seriously. Have to keep those weights down now because of LE. Pooh!

Jan if it's muscle weight then it shouldn't be a biggie. On the other hand if it's like me and it's not muscle weight then we need to work on it. Which I'm trying to do.

Randy, good to see you dont' work too hard. great job on the walking!

    Hi Buds~

I am home sick today, thanks to my co-worker who insisted on coming into the office all last week, hacking and coughing all over the place.

Feel better this morning though. Last night had body aches and felt so weak could hardly open a bottle of water! Good thing I didn't need to open a bottle of wine!

I had a mammo last week - my first digital. The mammo before last week was in Sept 06 and came back "suspicious" but I went back for additional films and the radiologist determined the microcalcs were from rads and not to worry.

After the mammo last week, I left thinking I'd just follow up in 6 months like always, then I get a call from oncs office saying onc wants me to repeat in 3 months instead of 6. Talked to onc's nurse yesterday who says the microcalcs have increased, and that's the reason onc wants another mammo in 3 months.

I asked onc's nurse, "how many suspicious mammos do I need to have have before onc orders an MRI"? I told nurse I want onc to call me to discuss. I want to find out what the hell is going on.

And PCP's office called just now to ask if "Dr Baker (onc) has called to discuss my mammo results from last week." I told her no, but that I am expecting a call from onc today.

I should have had Gnarly Girl whacked off to begin with, but lumpectomy seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

Anywho - just hate the not knowing part and needed to vent a little.

    Thanks for being there, buds.

    Cheers,
    Donna

Jeez Donna, you'd think they would order an MRI if they were suspicious of any area. That stinks!

I'm sorry you're feeling bad. there's a lot of creeping crud going around. Don't you just love when co-workers come to work sick? For crying out loud! STAY HOME!!!
    Feel better!

Randi - great to hear from you! Sounds like you're doing great on the treadmill. I need to get moving, that's for sure!

Is anyone thinking about attending Pinkstock in NY in Aug? Christine and I have been looking into it. I've only met one other person from these boards in person,(BethNY) and it was a great experience! I'd love to meet more of you!

I need to get an ipod!

    Cheers,

Hey speaking of big girl panties......hehe I broke down and bought a treadmill and bike 3 weeks ago. Was doing great with it till I started retaining water to the point I could barely walk. Finally got over that but had Chemo today so didn't walk tonight. I had a great day at Chemo and Curtis and I spent 4 hours having a party in there with a bunch of other people. We were passing out beef jerky, cheezits and tons of other stuff. Its amazing how many young people I saw in there but sad. All in all It was a great day and we had tons of fun. Only came home with the slightest tinge of headache but that's going away. Keeping my fingers crossed. They gave me a new script for Lunesta for sleep and hope that helps cause if not I'm heading straight for a bottle of who knows what. I'm gonna kick this insominia in the butt one way or the other.

Welcome Angel! (sorry - it's been a long week!)

Be careful with that Lunesta as you just might sleep walk on your treadmill and lose weight while sleeping. Hey - that would be a good thing! Just don't fall off!

I don't have insomnia but I'm going through (natural) menopause and have hot hot flashes quite regularly now and they wake me up (of course! ) every night. Drinking or not I get them. Dare I say that I still drink???
I've been very emotional the past two weeks and I'm blaming it all on my whacked-out hormones!

For those of you who really need to know, my social worker stopped by yesterday and she thinks I'm doing a FINE job of raising my daughter! (Not that I was worried but some people were!)

I haven't found a new job yet but have the next two weeks to focus on that task as I've decided to take 8 weeks instead of 6 weeks of FMLA as I do have the PTO available. To get a decent and set schedule I have to take a huge pay cut ( ) but I have to for my sanity and for my daughter's well-being and a better paying job will be necessary as I can't make ends meet on the reduced pay.

No big dates lately. Met a nice cop for lunch on Tuesday who I'll probably see again and another one last night who I probably won't.

Oh, and I got a new tattoo! It's the Chinese symbol for 'hope' and it's near my hip/groin area. I also got my pink ribbon touched-up as it was a bit faded. I got the ribbon to celebrate completing tx a year and a half ago and the hope symbol to celebrate my daughter. Now, what should I get next???

So all is well around here. Same old, same old ( ).

    Cheers!

I have an appt to see Dr. Lookin'Good (surgeon) on Mar 30th to discuss suspicious mammo from last week.

Regardless of what he says, (and I'm sure he still wants me and Gnarly Girl REAL bad), I am still planning on attending Pinkstock in Aug.

Are we gonna have fun, or what?

    Giddie-up!!

Can't wait to meet you girls in person.

@%**&####!!!!! I just spent forever typing a response and it disappeared because I hit some key by mistake and I can't find it!!! So, will try to reconstruct my destruct!

Donna--I've had calcifications show on last several mammos in my lump boob. Have had two MRI's. My understanding of the MRIs is that they will not pick up the calcifications (and I don't know the dif between micro and cal...) but the MRI will pick up any "hot spot" around the calcifications that might warrant further investigation--biopsy. I hate and am tired of all this shit! My next digital is in June--can't wait!!!!!

Just back from a 1600 mile road trip to visit DH's mother--god bless ice, coolers, and ML!!!!

Have been reading the Pinkstock get-together--sounds like a wonderful meet-up. I would definitely be a fly in/hotel groupie. The mention of a nearby casino really grabbed my attention! Hey, Sam--you interested????? The dates planned are just really iffy for me!

Janis--hugs to you and Avery! I am so friggin' focused on the gift I want to send--once weather cleared up I've driven to town THREE times and the store is always closed! Be patient!!!!

To all my drinking buddies on this thread--my favorite toast...

    There are good ships
    And there are wood ships...
The ships that sail the sea.

    But, the best ships
    are FRIENDSHIPS,
    and may they always be!!

    huggggssssss to you all!!!!!

    Donna,
I swear you had that suspicious mammo on purpose just so you could see Dr. GoodLookin again. Hey does he drink? Maybe you can con him into a trip to Pinstock?.....hehe

    Junie,
I can concur with you. I spent an hour typing a response in my Chemosabe March group only to have it disappear when I hit the button to continue. It happens here a lot. I usually started copying my post before I hit the key just in case but didn't this time....Pissed me off sooo bad!!

Ok I'm off to the circle girls Cyber Party! May not be a drinker as yet but I do know how to party!

Pinkstock sounds like a lot of fun, but the first weekend in August is always blocked for playing in a 3 day golf tournament with ALOT of partying!!! The casino being close would be a big plus. DH is turning the big 50 in May so we are planning a long weekend trip to Vegas and my oldest son is getting married in Sept so have alot of planning to do with that.

Donna - where in OK do you live. We have taken a drive south to the casino's in Newkirk and another one.

I have just been thru my yearly dr appts. It will be a year from dx for me on the 25th. Had mammo on the one boob I have left and am waiting to hear back after they compare it with the last one. Donna, I hope yours comes back with the okay soon.

Junie, would love to come visit and sit on your deck with a cold one and play some golf. Maybe in June!!

Christine, will the old bf being going with you on this trip??

Gotta go, tax returns are calling my name - ugh

God love ya, Christine. She's being kind. I totally outdid myself last night by mixing wine w/ my cold meds. Christine, being the dear that she is, had to take my credit card info over the phone and book my flight for me. It was the first time she and I had ever spoken, and I'm certain she was damned impressed with me. I'm proud to say I'm NOT drinking while I'm posting on this thread (probably for the first time ever.)

Angel - you're on to me and Dr. Lookin'Good! And he's just as nice as he is good lookin'. I'll be sure and mention Pinkstock to him during my visit on the 30th, and see if he wants to tag along. It would probably be a good idea to have a medical professional on hand anyway.

I sure hope you girls join Christine and me. I have a feeling it's gonna be one hell of a party.

Janis- Have a fun coffee date, hope you enjoy each other.
Donna- hope you are feeling better, step away from the cold meds! LOL Thanks for booking the hotel.
Hey Vickie- glad to see you here
Junie... Casino, calling your name. I bet this town has plenty of ML too!

    Christine??? Posting early???

I've had bad insomnia all week, hot flashes from hell, stress about going back to work and finding a new job but I did have a nice lunch date today with a very nice (smart and articulate, too) young man. Definite friend material and possibly more!

I have two dates next week and possibly a third. Yea me!

I'd write more about drinking but can't admit that I do drink so I won't! But is it okay for me, as a single mother, to have sex???

Anyhoo, not much going on around here. There were plenty of 'honorary' Irish people traipsing around the city today. I'm glad I got back to suburbia before the real festivities began! Hope everyone gets some Irish cheer tonight!

    Cheers!

Yea Janis- I am getting ready to escape for the West Coast, woo hoo!
I do have to tell you, as an on-line dater, I still have commited, by paying up, but I am getting tons of response, of course I can't reply til I pay, but since I am out of town for awhile, I am waiting til I get back, but there are some interesting profiles and photos for me @ Yahoo and eharmony. My friend just told me he met his new GF from match.com and I haven't been there. We'll see what happens in a week or two.
Now- I have to go to sleep early, 6am flight!

Christine, I'm sure you'll do just fine with the on-line dating! I swear I don't know any other way to get dates! I have a few more lined up for this week already. I figure I'd better get in as many as I can before I go back to work!

    Cheers!
