Rain, rain - GO AWAY!!!!! (Hope it helped???)
Happy 4th of July everyone! This is Miss Avery's 1st Independance Day and she's fast asleep (thankfully!). Motherhood is great - I just hope that she thinks I'm great, too! Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
Cheers!

Cheers and Happy 4th to everyone!

Please, may the rain god have mercy!!! Just about another 3 inches rain today. What is so weird is that while we are drowning in wetness, friends two miles away aren't getting a drop! Puts a whole new meaning into "spot showers"!!!!
Watched news today about the awful heat in the west, the rain and floods in the midwest, and the horrible drought in the southeast--gotta go get another ML!
Makes me want to sit in a rocking chair and knit or crochet and say, "lord, what's this world coming to....."
nahhh-gonna grab a beer, try to play at playing golf between storms...try to have some fun...try to keep up with all the goings on here!
Big huggsssss to all!!!0 -
Sorry about all the rain! WTF??? We're having a decent summere here. It's probably dryer than average though which is fine by me. I have well water so any watering I have to do is FREE!
Well, I'm gonna finish my scotch and then get on up to bed as I have to get up early for work - again! Oh, to win the Lottery and never have to work again! I'd actually give up drinking for that!
Cheers Ladies!

Hey Girlfriends- I have been MIA for awhile, just lto let you know I am here. Thinking of and praying for ya'll daily. I miss my drinking buds. I have been at the Lake of the Ozarks for awhile w/. no computer (arrgghh) and then working every day since. You are all always on my mind (like Wille Nelson says) Today is my catch up day, before back to work... laundry, groceries, bills and cooking dinner, which I have missed. Hope you are well, dry, cool and comfy.
Janis- time for some new pics! the last ones were beautiful!!
Donna- we need to talk soon, I am gettin' SO fricking EXCITED for Pinkstock!0 -
wb Christine!!!
Come a tad bit further south some day and visit our slice of paradise on Table Rock Lake--between thunderstorms, of course! We've had O N E day with no rain, some sprinkles today, but big storms forecast for early morning hours.
Hope all are doing well and just being off busy and having fun!!
hugggssss, junie0 -
Hey Christine and everyone else! It's a slow time here. Is everyone too busy drinking, or what???
I'm just busy working and taking care of Miss Avery. I saw Ratatouille tonight and it was very cute! It made me long for Paris..... Now I'll have to get it when it comes out on DVD and then explain to my daughter how wonderful Paris is and not just because a rat thinks so!
Cheers!
Jaybirs0 -
Janis- I have no doubt, someday you'll be taking lil Miss Avery to Paris and let her see first hand.
Junie- T-storms here too. But over the 4th at the Ozarks, all we had was beautiful, low humidity sunshine- thankfully. Never been to Table Rock am dying to go there and Eureka Springs too, Are they one in the same or close by?0 -
hold on--gotta catch my breath--Paris!! Oh my--can't put Paris in a nutshell, so will just have to go with you and Avery!!!!
Rain--we're being teased with glorious moments of sunshine--then, MORE rain. I am tryig to count my blessings!!! The front whatever in Texas is moving--our way! Go figure!!!!
All I can think is to grab another ML--and death be to the one who does not make the beer run and keep that x-tra fridge stocked up!!!!
Mega hugggsssss to the drinkin' buds!!!0 -
Hey Buds~
I hear ya Junie - it's rained everyday, but yesterday AND today turned out nice after our daily monsoon.
TGIF! Man, what a work week. BUT - Fri the 13th has usually been a lucky day for me. Go figure. I walked over to a convenience store next to the office earlier and won $25 on a $2 scratch off lottery ticket. NOW I want to go to the casino, but I won't, as I gots to save my $$ for Pinkstock!!
Hope everyone is staying cool and dry. I'm ready to start my weekend!
Cheers,
Donna0 -
lordie, my head is spinning from reading recent posts on the other threads. WOW! Came here to get a break and have a drink. In fact, setting up bar, buds--drinks are on me tonight! Maybe it's just Friday the 13th--haven't looked--full moon??? LOL--how could I tell--haven't seen clear sky for a month!!! Still raining most of the time!
Having kid company arrive soon for the week-end--hope we get enough of a weather break to have some quality lake time.
Donna--I've been into scratch-off tickets for a bit, but best one I've had was $20 on a $1--hmmmm, maybe I'll jump to the $2 tickets next time!
Happy week-end all!!!!
junie0 -
Silly me! I play the Lotto and Mega games for $5 and on rare ocasions 'win' $2. Hrmph. But, I am a dreamer.....
Yep, this be the place for chillin'! Some people post so often that they think they own this site and then get upset when someone disagrees with them. I think it's funny. A good study on human behaviour though!
I'm currently not dating, just trying to make it through each day at work while formulating a plan for the future. Miss Avery is really trying to stand on her own which cute. Probably not-so-cte when she starts getting into everything, right!
Gotta get ready for work. Peace out drinkin' buds!

Hi,
Can I join this thread too? I read the first page then realised that theres 133!!
The first page was talking about the fact drinking increased our risks, well I'd just come from a thread about high risk, and they were saying about why they considered themselves high risk (apart from all the serious stuff -no offense ) it was included also because they had heated food in plastic containers, including drinks in styrofoam cups!
WELL... it really washed my conscience clean, and now I am going to finish my beer without a minimum remorse!
Plus, to the lady who is a wine taster by trade, I live in Italy.... it's almost illegal not to drink wine here, I think they'd take my ID card from me!
Cheers to all, I am drinking my cold beer from a glass, none of that microwaved heated stuff in styrofoam cups for me!
Chris0 -
Hi Christina! I haven't been around here for awhile, but I still enjoy my glass of wine or beer or two, although I have cut back quite a bit since last summer. Welcome!
Janis- My DH has been playing the lotto with a group at work for years and years and years. I hope that you have much better luck than he so that you and Avery can get to Paris before I get my honeymoon.
Christine - Hi! I'm still waiting for that post or comment or something you said that you had for me about a month ago. I wish that I were able to get to Pinkstock to meet you. You're going to have a blast!! I can feel it.
lini0 -
Hey Junie - swim on up to St.Lou - I'm still here alive and kickin' and you know I"m no stranger to a bar stool. Miss you woman!!!!!!!!!!! This Buds (light) is for you. Oops ML is for you.
crissy0 -
Welcome, Chris--this is a fun thread to let your hair down! Hope we see you again, soon!
And, Crissy50--how very very good to see you!!!! I've missed you, too! Bob's got his first granddaughter coming along in Sept--in ST LOUIS!!! Know we will be up that way a lot, so hopefully, will have a chance to meet up again--along with Christinek from St Louie. PM me if your phone no's changed--else, I'll give you a shout one of these days! And, y'all are always welcome here!!!!
What a great week-end--kids down, boat started, no rain--met a new friend here on the boards, Chris, and reconnected with a great lady from my bc past, Crissy......woo hooo!!!! bar's open!!!!
hugggssssss to all!!!!!
ps--Janis--we have a life vest that will fit Avery, so come on down. But, sadly, don't have any cats!!!! LOL!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!0 -
Oh boy, a drinking group. I just love a gin and tonic on a hot summer day. In winter it's Jim Beam straight up. You really have to be careful though, no more than 1 1/2 shots at a go.
I gave up on wine after going to Italy, I got so spoiled on the Rosso di Montalcino that I couldn't stand the imported wines here. (You can get Rosso here if you're willing to pay $30/bottle.)
Mizsissy0 -
Chris--I forgot to say----Bonjourno!!!! Italy is my favorite country to visit. Venice is my favorite place in the whole world. OK--Janis, Paris is also great--but give me Venezia!!! Welcome, Chris!!!

drink up ladies - I'm picking up the tab! Played 18 holes of golf this afternoon and ready for a few cold ones.
weather cooperated and it is a beautiful day.
crissy0 -
Well, the rain has finally ended - now it's just plain old HOT!! I played 18 holes of golf yesterday followed by a few cold ones - I'll send you the bill Crissy.
Junie - this year doesn't look promising to come visit, but I really will plan on a trip next summer to Holiday Island. My oldest son is getting married in Sept. His wife to be has included me in all the planning which I sooo appreciate since I have no daughters. We taste tested cake Saturday. I'm thinking we should have a liquor tasting outing to make sure we buy the appropriate brands.
Hope all of you going to Pinkstock have a great time. I always play in a 3 day golf tournament the first weekend of August. I really enjoyed meeting some of you in Vegas last year. DH has another convention in November so I guess I will have to tag along again - oh darn!!
Drink up0 -
Hi, Sam!! I've been playing a little golf too, mostly 9 holes. Can only do 18 in a scramble. Do you know the dates of the Nov conference? Brenda and I were looking at Oct for a repeat fun trip to Vegas in Oct, but we can maybe do a Nov date instead! Wouldn't that be a hoot!
I'm seeing some faint handwriting on wall--V g s and g l f t r n y H l d y I s n d......wow! we have lots to think about and chat about!!!
Happy wedding--we're getting a new grandbaby in Sept, so that is going to be a month full of happy doings!!!!
Take care, and keep in touch!
Glad your rain is over--we have only had 2 days of sunshine and it is now thundering like crazy, so I better go for now!!!
HUGGGSSSSSSS to all!!!!!!
Everybody--let's get serious about a drinking bud's get-together!!!!!

OM- Drinking Gals- It has been awhile since I've caught up with all of you! Missing you and welcoming new friends. I can not wait to meet everyone at Pinkstock and will miss those not there.
I look so forward to seeing Junie and Crissy50 in Sept, I'll be here. Would love you guys to come meet at our restaurant for maybe drinks and apps, then I know June would love to hit a casino! (me too!)
Sam- I will be jealous if ya'll meet in Vegas, but after Pinkstock...$$$ will be short. Have a great time, even if it is only DH and you, he seemed like a really great guy, giving you all of that free time on Freemont St.
Lini- I am going to try and find that image I saved in your honor... flip flop queen!0 -
Here it is Lini- You just need to pm your address, no one else can wear them all year long! I try to , but when the snow comes, I need at least some clogs (lol)
Black or White?0 -
Black, my favorite color. They're so cute!! Where'd you find them?
I'm off to Yosemite. Back on Monday!!0 -
Well, Ladies, thanks for all the rain! It stormed so badly here that the house shook from the thunder - over and over again! My cocker is STILL freaking out even though the rain has mostly abated.
Have a great time at Pinkstock! I wish I could go but with work and the little one it just isn't possible. Maybe next year???
I'm taking a week off in August, Avery's birthday week (and my dad's, too), so that will be nice for all, especially me! My job sucks but for some odd reason the best perk seems to be how quicky time-off accumulates. That's the one and only good thing about it it seems. So, I'm going to bake a nice (fancy?) cake for Avery's 1st birthday! Pics will follow - hopefully!
Cheers to all! I'm off to bed as I after working the late shift I have to get up early for a 'normal' shift!
Jaybird0 -
Glad to have passed some wet up your way, Janis! We're still getting it, just not all day, every day--and have actually had a couple of really pleasant days.
Sat. morning, I just happened to glance out my back window to witness a bobcat chasing a rabbit across our back yard. That totally freaked me out! Don't think I will ever get used to seeing all the wildlife that we have. Now, I am more spooked than ever to go outside alone after dark!
Looking forward to hearing all the Pinkstock tales and seeing some pictures. Surely wish I could be there! Picking up rumors that 08 may be in my neck of the woods, so to speak!
hugggssssss to you all--bar is open, as always!
junie0 -
Must have been away toooooooooo looooooooooong - What is Pinkstock? Junie - when are you planning on being in St. Louis? Can't wait to see you again. Turns out Christine K and I are from the same part of town. Small world isn't it? Looking forward to meeting her. Hurry September.
Watching the Cards/Cub game, Bud Light in hand. What better way to spend a Monday evening. Go Cards!!
Big hugggggggssssssss - crissy0
