Janis - I hear ya on the tech thing. I disconnected my scanner, so I could print on my old printer. My wireless thing I think is all screwed up as I have to be connected or it says:

"dumping all physical memory" and logs off...

    anyone know what this means?

If I could learn to post a pic Janis, I'll show one of my new "niece" from China, her name is Kayla, nine months old and came to states in Jan 07. What a doll!

Christine, I'm sure Kayla is adorable!  :)

There is a magazine called Kiwi and the little girl on the cover looks a lot like Avery. I swear I'm going to get my girl into modeling!

    Traci,

Those recipes for the martini's sounded great!  I am with 3 of my Feb Chemo Cruisers this week (check out pics on page 126 of the Anyone starting chemo in Feb thread!!) and my friend Twilah drinks Expresso martini's:  Van Gogh expresso vodka (3 shots), starbooks coffee liquour(one shot) and shot of expresso coffee.  YUMMY YUMMY!!  She had to tell the bartender how to make it LOL....

Donna and Traci, looking forward to meeting you in April.  Donna I will PM my cell number, OK?

Traci, didn't realize you are in Real Estate also.  Hope your market is better than mine.  Foreclosures rule here right now.  Haha

    Celebration!Laughing

Whole Foods is history!!! My last day there wasn't too bad. I got (and gave) lots of hugs. I'll certainly miss my co-workers but not the job itself. I did have a few customers express their sadness at my leaving (If you can believe that!!!) but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! My team even gave me a gift card which I promptly spent as my discount card will be deactivated.

Since my mom watched Avery today when I got open I popped open a bottle of Moet & Chandon White Star (a gift from Mr. Wonderful who seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth) and we celebrated. I still prefer Veuve Cliquot but, hey, it was free so like I was NOT gonna drink it???Tongue out

Well, here's to better days ahead for jobs, health and personal lives!

Nobody thought my sign was funny? Frown

    Congrats Janis!

Hey...does anybody know how to get the silver mixer thing un-stuck from the glass thing? I was making hand shakin' margarita's using the shaker and the thing is stuck and I can NOT get it undone. I've tried hot water, putting it in the freezer and even oil!

Thanks and I hope your having a great day!! It is BEAUTIFUL here in Palm Harbor, FL! Not a cloud to be seen and 70 degrees. : - )

Cute sign, Traci - but I can't read the last line..... Undecided

Maybe no one wanted to reply because we're all jealous of your wonderful weather? It was fine here today (50, but cloudy and windy) but more snow predicted Monday - 3"-5"!!! WTF???

Having some Zinfandel as I'm all packed and ready to get out of here. I hope I beat the snow.....

Also couldn't read last sign on Traci's post and know it was the punch line!

We're also all packed and ready to head out tomorrow afternoon to drive to Tulsa to catch an early flight Tues. (Hoping to meet up with CasinoGirl for a bit tomorrow night).   BUT--it's been 70 degrees all day and we are now under a winter storm watch for freezing rain and ice for later tonight/tomorrow!!!   Janis, I'm in your WTF corner!!!   Unbelievable!!!

    hugggsssss all!

Hi All! Been out for a few days. My head cold had turned into a nasty sinus infection ( finally had to break down and see the Doc) I'm feeling sooooo much better now.

Your sign is funny Traci! That's how I felt when we were trying to sell our house. In reality it didn't take long to sell but felt like eternity! I wish I could've seen you 4 inches from the screen, that had to be a funny sight!

Congrats on moving on Janis! Hope everything works out just the way you want it to.

The weather is going to be fantastic today. Low 70's. I'm going to take the day off work and spend it with the folks, ( still here visiting ). It's supposed to snow tomorrow afternoon! CRAZY.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry 'bout y'all cold weather gals! Come on down and visit!!!

Hope everybody has a great day!

    Hey Buds~

I just met Junie at the Cherokee Casino!  We played some slot machines, and as usual, I was a big LOSER!  But it was great to meet Junie & her DH Bob.

Maybe I should change my name from CasinoGirl to something else....LOL!

Traci- I thought the sign was a riot! We have been trying to sell my dad's house, in the best part of the city, but we were about a yr too late in getting serious about and turned down some great offers!in the meantime.  AAArrrgggghhh!

Janis- congrats on Good Bye to WF. I agree with you, Veuve beats Moet (and Tattingier beats Dom IMHO) Hugs to Avery, today at Trader Joe's I met a li boy named Avery and his mom said he has a lil girl named Avery in his class, when I told them I had a friend named Avery in Chicago.

Marsha- love the new pic, I promise someday you'll be surprised by scotch oatmeals!!!

Junie- great offer on the get together thread! So glad you and Donna got together and had a good time gambling! I shoulda known you could not go too long without meeting someone with the username of Casiono Girl!

Traci - I've been wanting to get away to a beach and warm weather, sure wish I could take you up on your offer!

Junie and Donna, I love to go to Vegas. I have never been anywhere else to gamble. I'm usually a loser also. I've been hearing about a place over by Memphis that one of these days I want to make it to.

Hang in there Christine...someone will come by soon hopefully.

    It's my birthday today...so there's a reason to have a drink tonight!!

    ( although I don't think most of us need a reason! )

    Bottoms up girls!!

Did anybody get any ideas for getting the shaker thing apart??

    Cheers everybody!

If it's a metal shaker with a glass stuck in it we use to tap them on the edge of the bar and they would come loose. Shake it first if there's liquid in it. Is your drink still stuck in it? That would be bad!! LOL

Yes!!!! My margarita is stuck in there!!

Is there a difference between tapping and banging? I'm surprised I didn't break it!

    Surprised

This is not good!! There is no difference between tapping or banging! You should be banging the metal part of the shaker against the bar with the glass upside down in it. If that doesn't work I'd throw the hole d#&* thing away and make a new drink!!

    Good luck!

    Traci,

You are TOO funny!  Wish I could help you get that shaker apart, so we could drink the Margarita!

I am going to have a drink to celebrate my x-ray was NEGATIVE for any abnormalities!

I'm feeling better too, since the weather is warming up!

Hoo boy - I miss a few days of Internet access and everyone decides to post! Maybe I should get out of town more often???

Traci, just buy a new shaker! Or soak it in hot, very soapy water. Or, maybe some oil rubbed around the rim (sorry - that sounds kind of suggestive...) will break the seal?

I'm in Atlanta at a very nice hotel sipping some Louis Jadot vin du table. Not too bad. So far so good with getting back into the saddle. I'm happy. Whole Foods is now just a memory. Still no 'good' layovers to meet up with my drinkin' buds - maybe next month?

    Well, cheers to all!

Marsha - happy belated birthday my friend!  You're 37?  I would have thought 27 Cool

Lynne - happy belated birthday to you too!!

Traci - that is tragic about your shaker lid being stuck with a marg inside...WTF?  That's like a cruel joke!

J - sounds like you're enjoying your new job!  Good for you!  BF and I have bumped around going to the Chicago Blues fest in June.  I'll be sure and let you know if we attend, and hopefully you'll be in town!

Charlene - I thought maybe you were hiding somewhere with Brad CoolEmbarassed and just found your way home....

I'm going to "glass class" tonight.  Learning to fuse glass so I can make cool dichroic jewelry.  I just started last Wed so tonight I'll get to see how my "creations" turned out.

    Cheers everyone!

    Hey there Casinogirl,

That class sounds fun!  I am starting to make beaded jewelry and it's fun.  But, I am now finding that if I want to buy any of those glass beads and other fun stuff, to make my jewelry, I may have to get a part time job!

Have fun!  After you make some, you will have to post some pics of the jewelry you make.

Casinogirl and Harley, Glass and beads? I love them! i taught stained glass (Tiffany) to teens for 15 years. Beading also. I was afraid with bc I would never be able to cut glass again.  I have 3 glass panels partially finished (as of now).  I was just wondering today to whom I could give my glass, grinder, came saw and tools. You give me hope!

Like J Bird I miss a few days reading and like whow everyone is posting, drinking, and getting their drinks stuck in a shaker!

I've spent more time reading the breast reconstruction thread lately, gearing myself up for alot of pain - maybe I should avoid that thread, just looking forward for St Titty day to get here and be gone. (why the f** didn't I do this 2 years ago!!)   I'm going to need to stock the liquor cabinet up so I can mix it with pain meds and be in lala land for awhile.

Donna - isn't Junie a blast.  Although, I wouldn't tell you to sit at a 3 card poker table with her.  Brenda and her will just win all the money while you see yours evaporate rather quickly.

Hope to see some of you in April - tell me I will be up to it - please

    Cheers

    Hi All!

Harley44 - Congrats on the good news! I like the beaded jewelry but would never have the time to do it!

Jaybird - Sounds like a nice place you're staying at. Sounds like the new job is a great change for you. Hoping all continues to go well for you.

Casinogirl - Thanks for the birthday wish. I had been pretty sick and decided that since I'm finally feeling better I'm just going to celebrate my birthday for the month of March! The jewelry making sounds awesome.

Sue - Don't give your things away! Hopefully you will be back doing what you love soon!

Sam - Good luck with your upcoming recon. When do you have it scheduled for? What type are you going with?

I think I am going to schedule an appointment this month to have my aereola tattoed. I don't want to do traditional. I'm going to do a flower but have not decided on what one I want yet. I've been trying to find a nice design online but have not seen exactly what I want. Anyone know any websites to visit?

    Back to work,

    Bottoms up girls!
