Harley - I'll toast one for you tonight too!! Congrats
Junie, I love your air flight stories. I think the only wild one I have been on is one to Vegas years ago that was about 3 hours late in leaving and some young men decided to spend those 3 hours in the bar. They were plastered by the time the plane took off. I really felt sorry for the attendants. They were very patient with them but man were they loud. They were still ordering drinks on the plane until they were finally cut off.
Janis - hope your enjoying flying the "hopefully" friendly skies.

Hey Buds~
Junie - glad you made it back from your FUN trip okay . Thank God it got off to such a great start LOL! About the dog - I can picture you saying "G*D DAMMIT get down, G*D Dammit get off the couch!
J - good for you for adoping a shelter dog. I think they make great pets! I'm sure Stella has found a great home, and that Avery will give her a run for her money!
Harley - congrats on your anniversary! How was the winery?
Got back from the scuba trip in Key Largo. AWESOME dive experience. Saw some critters and lots of gorgeous reefs. Got some great shots with Mark's camera. I'll post some of them later if I remember how LOL!Speaking of Stella, I've been sipping a couple of Stella beers tonight. Was just in a beer mood. Kind of in a bummer mood.
Can't wait to get back to work tomorrow after being gone for a week. NOT! The good news is, my boss is on vacation all next week!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Stella Cheers,
Donna

Donna,
THANKS!
The winery was really fun! I was in the mood for a glass of champagne to celebrate the special occasion, but they didn't have any. So, I just had a beer!
My dh and I went there for Ocktoberfest, and it was kind of a bust. I'm glad we went back, because we had a great time!
Glad you had a wonderful time scuba-diving in Key Largo! Sounds fun! Glad to hear that the boss is out all week!
Cheers!Harley

Hey everybody.
Congrats Harley!
Donna, you made me laugh with your "not". I'm glad you had a good time in the Keys!
Cheers everybody. I'm going to pour a well deserved glass (a big glass too not one of those baby wine glasses!) of wine and crawl in bed. Monday comes early.

Traci,
You are TOO funny! Yes, I prefer the larger wine glasses, or even those huge GOBLETS! I mean, if I only have ONE glass, it may as well be a BIG one!
Caio!

Harley--one glass of wine, make it a big one!! I saw an ad in a magazine for a HUGE wine glass--it will hold a whole bottle of wine! Next time I see it, plan to order it for a friend who is a big wine drinker--think she'll get a kick out of it!!!

angel,
Since my bc dx, I have had my moments... but, now, especially at this one year mark, I am slowly coming out of the numbness and depression that was with me so much of the time.
Congrats on your one year mark, whether you celebrate it on 3/14 or 3/29... Hey, maybe you should celebrate them both!
I like to look for reasons to celebrate! lol
Hope you are feeling better soon!

junie,
I keep thinking about my wedding, 22 years ago. This was my first time being married, (we are STILL married!) and I didn't know that they would follow me around and fill my glass with champagne all day!
So, I laugh now, when I think about it, because I only had ONE glass of champagne!!
That wine glass sounds great!! lol

Hey Buds~
Okay, I am a land-locked moron.
Traci & Marsha - Mark and I are going to Palm COAST, not Palm HARBOR. (that is IF we're still together, but that's another story.)
I just realized this when Mark sent a link for a scuba site near Palm COAST. Then I realized we're flying into Jacksonville, and then I realized my mistake. Shit.
So - how far is Palm COAST from you guys?
Sipping a Dancing Bull Zin. For $10, you can't beat it! I just have to refrain from drinking the whole bottle....I just need a bigger glass, huh?
Cheers,
Donna

I wonder how Sam is doing on St. Titties Day, as she was having surgery today. Has anyone heard from her?

Thanks Harley! I think I'm slowly coming out of it too and I think I'll be more ready to celebrate the dx of my blm on the 29th, since that is when the cancer was removed from me. I just have a hard time celebrating the dx date and it depresses me more. But then again I lost my breasts on the 29th. But, I saved my life too! Oh, isn't it any wonder why I drink?!? lol Seriously, I like the idea of looking for reasons to celebrate and will work on that! My 2 year and 9 year old daughters are very much a good reason to!
Cheers All!

Angel,
Oh, your daughters are a great reason to celebrate! I can see how your dx date might depress you, thinking about all you went through.
For me, I was just so scared s**tless all the time!! Now, I am trying to get into a groove, and stop waiting for the other shoe to drop...I keep trying to remember that we are some pretty tough chicks, and everything we did was to make sure that this bc beast never comes back! After my bc dx, my brother said that I am ONE tough broad! Believe me, I don't feel that way!! But, I told my onc. at my last appt., "I hate that my hair came back in gray, but now when I look in the mirror, it reminds me that I kicked bc's *ss!!"
Happy days are here again...!
Cheers!

The hair regrowth experiences constantly amaze me! Prior to chemo, my hair was very thick, coarse, straight, mostly a nice silver with a little bit of pepper sprinkled in. I loved it! My hair came back dark brown, uncontrollably curly, no gray! At first I hated it, but then grew to love the curls. Alas, after 5 years of Tamoxifen, the curls are gone, hair is thin and fine and has its own will. Some gray is creeping back in, but not the lovely silver I had before.
s i g h!!! Always something!!! LOL!
Prob too soon for Sam to post--if we don't hear from her in a day or so, I'll give her a call.
Quiet St Paddy's day for me--too old, I think, to party it up big time. Just have a mellow buzz going with my ML. Bob played in a golf tournament today. He wore a t-shirt given to him by a friend. Bob is a major KU Jayhawks fan. (When we were first married, he had 3 kids attending KU at the same time...) Shirt is kelly green and reads: 5% Irish 95% Jayhawk. Lots of KU fans here and they loved his shirt!
We have tornados north and south of us again tonight--watch out, Susan!!! Grrrrrr!
big hugggsssss to everyone!!!

Well, Happy St. Paddy's Day to all!!! (isn't every one just a wee bit Irish today?)
CG, I don't know where you're going but have fun wherever it is!!!
Congrats to ALL the anniversaries - one year turns into two, then three, then four.....
Stella is a cutie for sure! I guess she was too much puppy for my mother the past two days but she really isn't a terror. She's four months old and is truly more calm than anything, and a bit timid. I think Avery and her will be good buds. It's cute to watch Avery 'complain' about Stella, but they do say that payback is a bitch. (I'm such a bad mother for laughing.....)
Lots of 'light-to-moderate chop' on my flights yesterday and today but Springtime can bring bring crazy weather - and it WILL be Spring this week!!! I am SO ready for Winter to be over!!!
And Junie, you could have your 'normal, pre-chemo' hair like I do but what fun is that?? I really was hoping for curls or something other than my old drab, thin and straight hair.....
Cheers!

Happy Days Harley! Thank you, you lifted my spirits! We Are tough broads to have gone through it all, even if we don't feel that way so much! Big hugs and cheers to you!

Hope everyone had a HAPPY ST. PADDY'S day!! We had some friends visiting from up north yesterday, and we went out for lunch together, and had some beers...after all, it was St. Patricks Day!
Anyway, I found out that Carol had bc FIVE years ago! She just stopped taking Tamoxifen, and started Femara. We talked about our bc experience, and it was really nice. This is really quite a great group of women, in this very elite, exclusive club! (I'm still sorry I had to join, but the membership is free!)
Junie,
I must confess, I did color my hair about 2 weeks ago, cause I just got tired of looking at the white spot sticking out over my eye! It was taunting me...
Angel,
Thanks! That is such a cute pic, of the Tough Chicks, in biker clothes! It made me smile, too!!Let's drink to... Tuesday!

I'm alive!!! Haven't had a drink since Sat night but these pain pills have me rather loopy. Surgery went okay - I guess, the unveiling is tomorrow morning. Can't wait to take a shower. The ps put 150cc in the expander. The pain is getting better.
I think I can only type in short sentences. Must be the pills. Hope you all had a St Paddy's drink for me. Mine only consisted of a bag hanging over my bed. DH said it said ice water on it - damn if it didn't feel like that.
later.......

Sam - so glad to hear you're alive!
And being the team player that I am, I too will raise a glass for you tonight since you're all hopped up on pain killers and can't drink LOL!
Take one for me!

Sam--glad to see you post. For sure I'll have a drink for you tonight--maybe even two!
Are you Donna getting wet? It has rained, hard, non-stop for over 24 hours. Think we have over 4 inches and is supposed to rain all night and all day tomorrow! We drove around a bit this afternoon. The road crews have the barricades set out in readiness to close the roads in low lying areas where little creeks are now rushing little rivers! We don't have to worry about getting flooded because we're so high up, but we may not be able to go anywhere for a day or two. We stocked up at the grocery today--thank goodness my ML was on sale!!! We'll be fine as long as we don't lose cable!
big hugggssss to everyone!!!

Hey Buds~
Junie - yes, I too am drowning. Rain, rain, rain. It makes me bummed out.
Or, maybe I'm bummed because I think BF Mark and are breaking up. We've had 2 1/2 fun years together, but the scuba trip to Key Largo, although fun scuba-wise, wasn't so fun relationship-wise.
So - I have declared tomorrow a "call in hungover day". Not really, my boss is roughing it in Hawaii right now, so she's not in the office. Thank God. I'll just call my coworker and tell her I'm sick, but unofficially, I'm taking a mental health day.
Drank a bottle of good cab tonight. Since I DID drink the ENTIRE bottle, I am unable to recall the name right now....
I should just go to bed now.... sweet dreams sisters.
Cheers,
Donna

Hugggssssssss to Donna! "Mental Health Days" are sometimes necessary!!! Had a few of them in my working days. Not sure what to call those kind of days now that I'm retired, but I still have them once in a while!!!
Hope all works out for the best with you and Mark.
I can't believe that it is still raining like crazy. Think we will get out tomorrow with the camera and take some pictures. Have never seen rain like this in the 5 yrs we've lived here--or anywhere, for that matter!

Very cool tat Donna!! I'm sorry you and Mark had a bummy time in Key Largo. Good for you in knowing you need a mental health day and taking one!
Janis .. I had to laugh when you said paybacks are a bitch about Avery and the puppy. When my 9 year old complains about my 2 year old keeping her awake at night I think the same thing! I've even told her "now you know how I've felt about you all these years!" lol
Sam .. You sound great, hope you recover well. I had a couple of drinks for you too last night!
Traci .. I cringed too!! lol
Harley .. That was a nice story about your meeting with your friend Carol. I love hearing about women 5 years out!
Junie .. Sounds scary where you are .. be careful! Glad you're up on the hill and got your ML! lol
Hope all you ladies stay safe in the rain. We're getting it now too. Here's a pic I posted on the "life's a beach" thread today .. definitely better than the weather we're all getting. Take a mental break from it and imagine you're there!
