Jay...
I drank during chemo, but only one, and not every night. After my 1st tx, I went home and made myself a drink. After my last tx, we went out to dinner with some friends, and I had a glass of champagne, to celebrate! I also drank in between, but not very much...
Linda,
Happy cancerversary!! My anniversary was 3/15....ONE year cancer free!!
Have a good one!Harley

Thanks, Harley! It feels like it's been, "Mr. Toads Wild Ride!" One Year Cancer Free! Woo Hoo!
I had my follow up mammo last week and had a dingy woman who didn't know how to handle a crying patient. I was a puddle of tears when she told me everything looked fine. Go figure?!

linda,
Yes, I know what you mean.
I keep getting these weird pains and I am so scared, but I don't want to find out if it could be.... ? You know! I am too scared!
I keep telling myself that they are probably just regular pains, and especially since I am taking Tamoxifen, it could be related to the drug.
Congratulations on the good mammo.!!! I'll drink to that!

Hey Buds~
Since we're coming up on the "spring drinking season" thought I'd ask what everyone's favorite spring drink is? Am I the only person who thinks of drinks as being seasonal? (or some drinks anyway, not all drinks of course.)
I'm thinking of a refreshing mojito....
Cheers,
Donna

Linda and bcs75, welcome to this thread! I'm a year out from dx as of 3/14 and will be a year out from blm on 3/29.
Harley, I have pains that scare me too .. Tamoxifen could definitely be the culprit ..
Bottums up All!

Angel,
I had a "lightbulb" moment, when in the middle of the night, I remembered something.... About 2 weeks ago, I decided to flip our mattress over... Even though my dh helped me, when he "handed" the mattress over to me, he let go, and it hit me against my leg... I had the full weight of the mattress on my small body frame, so I guess that is what caused my backache...
Traci,
I am going to have some more drinks, to celebrate your good news!! YAY!!
Can anyone use those Smilie guys? I tried to download some the other day, but now I can't find where I put them!
HarleyDonna,
You are right...Some drinks are just kind of tropical, and they are definitely seasonal!

I don't know. I was just re-reading the report. WTF does this mean?
Since the prior exam, there has been interval increase in anterior mediastinal soft tissue, likely to represent rebound thymic tissues.
Also: At the anterior aspect and the posteraolateral corners of the implats, there is bilateral mild hypermetabolic activity with max SUV measuring approx 3.0.
We should start a "WTF does this mean" thread!

Hi All!! Finally back in town and back to work. I've been trying to get caught up ALL day.
Traci, glad to hear the good report...but holy Sh*# how does anyone know what all of that means?!? I hope that it's all ok.
Welcome Linda and bcs75!
Hope everyone had a good Easter!
I was wondering about you Junie! Hope the water is receding, I haven't had any time to watch the news. Glad your place was safe.
Well back to work. Hopefully I'll be able to stay a little longer tomorrow!
Bottoms up girls!

OMG, I feel so at home already! Who knew you had to get BC before you could get any support for your nasty habits! Bloody well right ~ I plan on toasting my girls (boobies) every night up until my surgery! Thanks for the laugh you all...bottoms UP!

Traci,
I doubt even Google knows what that all means??? Who writes this stuff and in what language?
I am officially "in hiding" from most of my family and friends for the next few days. No one, except my sister who's an 18 year survivor, and you all here, know the fear I'm going through. I'm having a biopsy tomorrow morning because my mammo showed a 2mm calcification. The doctor is uncomfortable with it, and with my history, wants this done now.
I'm returning to work on Tuesday after being off for 9 weeks from my TRAM flap that failed. Can you say STRESS??? Needless to say...I NEED A DRINK! A strawberry Margarita, please...

Okay, I'll take a stab at it. Ater all, I received Departmental Honors in Pathology - uhm, 25 years ago.
interval increase in anterior mediastinal soft tissue, - since I last looked, this chick has grown a few more cells/ bit more tissue in the front chest/sternum area
likely to represent rebound thymic tissues. I'm not overly worried about it because this is often seen in post-chemo patients, but I needed to mention it.
At the anterior aspect and the posteraolateral corners of the implants, On the edges of the implants on the sides and front near the ribs
there is bilateral mild hypermetabolic activity with max SUV measuring approx 3.0. On both foobs the PET showed a little bit of enhanced cellular activity, not much. Standardized Uptake Value is the same on both sides, about 3.0 (consistent with laying down of granulation tissue - healing or scarring). Bad SUVmax run around 11-15.
I am not an MD nor do I get paid like one. So I would run this by your doc. But I wouldn't lose any sleep, either. You might also call the pathologist. Sometimes they are easier to reach than MDs and tell him/her you don't want a diagnosis, just a translation. Might work.
IMHO, it's a report still worth celebrating!
It's still early here, so pour me a glass of a nice 2001 Sonoma Chardonnay, Thanks.

Traci - I know what you mean by WTF - I guess if it was bad they would have told you - congrats - I'll toast one for you tonight.
As you may have heard the Bush Administration said each and every
one of us (well most of us) would now get a nice rebate.
> If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
> If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs.
> If we purchase a computer it will all go to India.
> If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will all go to Mexico,
Honduras, and Guatemala,
> if we purchase a good car it will all go to Japan,
> if we purchase useless crap it will all go to Taiwan and none of it
will help the American economy.
> We need to keep that money here in America, so the only way
> to keep that money here at home is to buy beer, since those
> are the only businesses still in the US.
>
...Not a bad idea! $600 of beer - lets have a party

flyrzfan, Welcome to this drinking club! Pull up a chair, and have a drink! When is your surgery? Lumpectomy, or mast.? I'll drink a toast to your surgery!
Linda, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, hoping for b-9 results from your biopsy!Lisa, even though I don't know much medicalese, it still sounds like a reason to celebrate to me! I had a similar feeling when I read my pathology report, after my blm... It seemed to be saying that there was an area of concern, but when I read it more closely, all it said was that they saw some scar tissue from the biopsy. WHOOHOO! Another reason to celebrate!
Sam, it sounds like we have to be patriotic, and do our duty to this country, by spending that money on more beer or other delicious alcoholic drinks!!
Yes, Traci it is officially BEER-THIRTY!!Cheers!
Harley

Sam, that was funny. I just put it in an email!
Woo hoo! Beer thirty!!

Traci,
I love beer thirty. In a previous life I live in Clearwater. I was on the first staff of the Ruth Eckerd Hall. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Hey, it's always five o'clock somewhere in the world. Cheers!!!
