how about drinking?

Gordy's feeling better--never did have a fever and actually wants real food again. Of course, he's pretty bummed out about not being able to see his g.f. Leslie before she went back to Houston Mon. night. for spring break (she gets back here next Fri., and we may take her to her first Seder on Sat. night). His symptoms first hit when he woke up Mon. a.m. at her place. She's been vaccinated, but it's easy to spread this bug even if you don't catch it. By Sun. he should no longer be contagious, but we're not taking chances. As he has asthma, we're being very careful to make sure he uses his inhalers. (We have nebulizer supplies at the ready). When flu patients get pneumonia, it usually strikes after they start feeling well. I'd planned to go to Cellars tonight to watch the Loyola game, but I don't want to be an unwitting "plague vector." Besides, I don't feel like stuffing myself with $10 Reubens & fries, however delicious. I've had a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal at breakfast & just had avocado-and-tomato toast with an egg on top for lunch and am stuffed to the gills.
Had my annual eye appt. yesterday. All is well, except need a slight add'l reading, astigmatism & distance correction in my left eye. (Which explains why I have to narrow my eyes to a near-squint to keep the computer page from swimming, and why I've been confusing the numeral 5 and 6 in the FB Messenger and iCal fonts, with embarrassing results). Also, very slight retrocapsular clouding in the left eye, but nothing needing lasering yet. (Ophtho says to call if I start getting night glare or see halos or streaks from lights--which is how Bob's clouding manifested about a year after his first cataract removal).
Since the ophtho is a friend of ours, Bob urged me to buy a pair of glasses from his office (more expensive than Warby Parker but less than Lens Crafters). When I mentioned the "laptop pages swimming" to the doc, he suggested that in addition to everyday glasses I get a pair for computer & reading. So I picked out some cute purple frames for that. I called Warby Parker about replacing the lenses in my current frames from them, and they said they could only replace single-vision, because for some reason they can't update progressives--just exchange my glasses and they'd issue me a new set of frames & lenses, at the same price as new. Zenni won't replace lenses at all unless it's a screwup on their part. So I tried on a few pair at Warby Parker's shop, and settled on some round-ish frames in "Beach Glass" (a translucent muted teal), with photochromic lenses for everyday, and some really sharp semi-cat-eye frames in rose gold titanium & stainless for dresswear. All of the above will be ready for adjustment & pickup in about 10-12 days. Meanwhile, the change in my general prescription is slight enough that I can hang in there without being tempted by the "one-hour" promise at LensCrafters & VisionWorks. (And I don't want to feed the Luxottica monopoly more than I have to). As to my favorites among my current frame wardrobe, I will get estimates from both my ophtho and the local independent optician in West Ridge (the mostly Hasidic & Indian neighborhood to the n.w. of us) as to which is cheaper. I know the local guy is quicker, as he does it in-house. But he is very observant and is open only Tues-Thurs. afternoons--and not at all on Jewish holidays or the day before. My ophtho has to send orders out, as does Warby Parker. I will update my current frames one at a time. (One lens at a time--the R eye is unchanged).
Cami, I will definitely be your chicken-soup source! Hope Dan can staff his business with good, moral, ethical people who are up to the task. Careful about the "Christian" part, though--it's illegal in IL to specify that (or hire on that basis) unless it's a faith-based entity doing the hiring, and for a faith-based task at that. Putting on my lawyer hat here, all it takes is one non-Christian person rejected for a job to cause a litigation--or at least gov't administrative hearing--nightmare. Been there, done that (defending a business & a landlord), and it's almost impossible for a respondent to prevail. Hope they can figure out what's causing Les' infection and finally cure it. (A fellow BCO sister over at "Lumpectomy Lounge" ended up using a portable wound-vac after she had to have a BMX due to genetic mutations and her incisions got infected; the contraption finally did the trick).
Kim, hope your HR woes get ironed out. Seems DC and NYC got your snowstorm. We're getting "wintry mix" tomorrow night into Sat., but little to no accumulations here on the N. Side. (Far N. Shore may not even see any rain). Lori, glad your mom will have a roof over her head and medical needs met.
Haven't had any wine since Sun. Probably will keep hitting the decaf & seltzer.

Good morning, Loungettes! Happy TGIF day! The big Nor'Easter that started as I was posting yesterday lasted about an hour for me, no accumulation to speak of at all. A couple inches in town, more on the coast. No more big storms in store right now, so maybe spring will finally get a chance to move it. I know Sadie would like to see mud season come along, she LOVES mud!
Mema--Glad you are feeling well. Sorry about the hair coming out already. Will let you know what happens at work today.
Chi--So glad Gordy got through the deadly flu plague without even a fever! Wise to be extra careful for a while after to keep the asthma under control. Glasses frames and lenses are quite the complicated thing these days. It's amazing how much the cost comes to in the end. And all the options are just amazing. This last storm did hit southern New England way harder than Maine, and not one person in Maine is at all upset about that! No matter what else happens with my evaluation I have learned a lesson, and will not be placing my trust in the management team again for quite some time.

Mornin' Ladies,
NM I knew ud step up for urself, uve been so much stronger since u had gotten sick, u'r now in control and u now know it. Good for u. I'm glad that weather missed u, finally maybe it is turning spring, but I won't believe it for a while. I still have my little heater on.
Lori I'm so glad ur mom is being taken care of, this has to be better for ur stress too. It's the way it has to be, unfortunately---its tough. Wow a lot's going on. Joey is doing better but he's still a little shaky with all of this cuz it keeps going on. He's talking more to me about things tho and that's a good sign. It's funny out of nowhere all of a sudden he'll say how much he loves me and of course I love that part. He's gotten so tall he stands and cradles me in his arms. Of course I did shrink. LOL
Sandy I'm glad Gordy is feeling better, but I forgot Leslie is from TX right??? That's stinky to me but people nowadays fly easily from one place to another so for now it's not so bad. But how do u feel about that, Id think that maybe there has to be moving involved and I wouldn't want mine to move. I know I think to far ahead sometimes.
SusyQ good to see you, but sorry what u'r going thru. So far u seem to feel well, OK and I like hearing that---<PRAYERS> always for u.
Oh sandy I have to say Dan <my boss> is very careful about what he says and does, usually he hires someone one of the guys know, which is a big help to all of them, he tries very hard to have the men get along. And so far all of them like him so much and work together well. And the man who schedules and bills he's known since he was a kid and he's called him uncle for many years cuz they have been so close, they started working together just the 2 of them so I like that. He's the one I deal with the most <a lot> and at nite he usually calls me and we close up things and he tells me he loves me now, he's a good man. funny too.
Dara what a beautiful pic. on FB, I pooped in and saw that right away. How are u doing??? I hope u don't let this chit get u down.
Hello to everyone, hoping u have good days and nites too.

NM, that's really too bad that some of those other nurses won't speak up. And I'm glad you are considering something else, but certainly understand the need for the cash! Glad you didn't get hit with storm #4, but there is no way I would be disappointed!
Oh gosh Sue, I didn't know you were on Taxol. How often? I see, every 3 weeks. Is it making you sick? How many treatments? Please, pictures of Maddy!
Sandy, glad Gordy is feeling better and hopefully will stay that way and you are keeping it at bay. Shopping for glasses can be fun if you look good in them. I am not one of those, but can not wear contacts.
NM, I'm thinking Ms. Sadie likes the mud more than you do! Did your mom make her trip to your brothers?
This is the 3rd hospital mom has been in and the 3rd rehab/nursing home. She doesn't remember me being there at all, except when she looks at her nails and says, oh I guess Lori was here, my nails are done. I decorated them for her. They are doing a heart cath today. So I will be a bit worried, until she's done. 2 of my brothers will be there.
Gonna be windy here for the next 4 days, but almost 70 outside!

Hugs for your mom, Lori. Hope this rehab is the one that "clicks" for her, and she can stay. Sue, Nevada certainly gave Loyola a run for its money. (I guess, though, that UNLV is more your home team than NV).
Cami, Leslie is from Katy, TX, but has been in Chicago for a couple of years--she teaches at a local charter H.S. Gordy went down to visit New Year's weekend--all three sisters brought their boyfriends home for the first time. He had a great time down there. We'll take things one step at a time--she likes her job and Chicago, and Gordy has better career employment up here. So if he moves out, it'll be to his own apt. or one they'll share.
Chilly lake breeze here. "Wintry mix" predicted overnight, but nothing should stick by this time tomorrow this far north. Even frezing rain will thaw before noon.

Good afternoon friends- greetings from windy New Mexico. The winds are up this month which is common for March, but it has been warm and many fruit trees in bloom. My weeping cherry is blooming right now, but noticed it was not looking to healthy as the buds came out and found bore holes (ugh) at the top of the tree. I am hoping with some selective pruning and some spray that I can address this and the tree will be saved. I lost 2 trees in the back yard with drought a number of years ago and replaced three of them and the backyard trees just seem to struggle. My neighbor behind me had a fabulous cottonwood that used to provide wonderful shade to my patio with the morning sun, but that got pruned down to nothing recently too. That tree was visible struggling as well. Keeping trees alive here in the desert has become a lot of work, but I do have a "tree guy" to help too.
I am in the last few days of being 57. Been celebrating with a few people this month, more next week. Got some fun things in the mail the past few days including some delicious coffee from Peets on the west coast, some jewelry, fun thing for the house and more.
I am leaving for the west coast on Wed to have some family time with my sister and partner, but the trip sort of went up in the air this week. My sister's partner had a death in the family and we knew when we planned this that something may happen, so we discussed it in advance if it happened and they need to go back east. Well, on Tuesday morning I got the call and left it up to them to let me know if I should come out as planned or not (assuming most likely not). As I have shared with you, my sis' partner is in poor health and they just decided they cannot do the trip right now so they are staying back and we are sending flowers for the service and my sister is helping with some other arrangements. I think this trip will be a bit more mixed than what we had planned, but my sister is way stressed out and going to try to have a visit and help her as best I can.
NM- I am sorry you continue to have issues with the Hospice folks. They are trying to treat you like one of their drones even though you are working on a PT per diem basis. I don't think this will improve with them, and wondering with the nursing shortage if there is not something else in the area you could do part time with your nursing expertise? Maybe with a visiting nurse or home health group? I had an awesome home health nurse who helped me through my recovery from my busted appi and my breast surgery too. Just throwing out ideas. I hope the snow has stopped and you and Miss Sadie can look forward to some green around there soon.
Goldie- it sounds like you are back from seeing your mom, and know she is having a tough time of it and cannot remember much. I am so glad you went to spend time with her. I hope she has a successful procedure and will put her in my daily meditations friend. And you and DH as well. I am with you on the high winds and warm temps.
ChiSandy- hope Gordy is turning the corner on the flu. I am like him with the asthma and have to be super careful with anything respiratory that comes along. I hope his girlfriend has a good visit at home and hopefully they will enjoy some nice time together when she is back.
Cami- so sorry about Leslie and her ongoing struggles. It is good to hear Dan is in his new space and think he needs to get busy hiring new folks. Cami needs a bit of a break I think. Joey will be out of school in another six week or so for the summer, yes?
Ill- did you run your race yet?
Celia C- how are you doing friend?
And check in on Karen 1 and Karen 2 please?
Janky- boy do I like that name. I hope you were able to enjoy some green beer. I have something I will post at the end about the next drinking holiday.
Mema- you are working through the next round of treatment I see and hope you are doing okay. My sister got a nice wig when she went through treatment for the time she was seeing patients, I went out to help her as she got started with chemo and found something that was so much like her current style. I was impressed how many good ones they make now. I hope you can find something you like. Take a girlfriend with you and go eat lunch after to have something good to look forward to?
Will be back Sunday to say hey again before I head out on my wee trip!

Jazzygirl - thank you, I did enjoy some beer and so far all is well, just finished week 1 of my second Ibrance cycle, hoping my neutrophils don't act up this time around
Mema - my daughter, who trained as a stylist, came with me to choose a wig, then we had lunch and it was a lovely day, (I still had hair )!

Until the next drinking holiday.....

Jose Cuervo's Birthday! Can hardly wait!
Dinner tonight was wild king salmon, so DOTD was a couple of oz. of 2014 Hahn Monterey County Pinot Noir. (Funny how it looks so paltry in a proper Burgundy stem),

Looks like I missed a page or two, oops!
Dara and NM, I’m sorry about the work problems, sometimes people really suck and just don’t care much for others at all.
Goldie, I hope things settle with your mom and family steps in to help out, it must be so stressful.
Jazzy, my Shipley’s Donut Dash 5k is 4/14 but I’ve stepped up my preparation efforts already.
Hi Cami, Mema, ChiSandy and anyone I forgot 😊

Mornin' Ladies,
Ill your really getting into things for ur'self, good for you.
Gee Jazzy I wonder why u really like the name Janky, well ok it is cute. Janky does it mean anything for you???
Lori it's so good ur brothers are there for ur mom and I truly hope this place will be good for her and get her in a settled mood. This sounds goofy I know but maybe it's best for u to be in AZ, u have so much going on and u keep in touch with ur brothers and u know u know everything that's happening. Sometimes we just don't have all the choices we want and this is best for her. And what's going on with her furbaby???
Ah I go to Sadie then, I am so jelly u have such a wonderful friend Kim, that's the best and I know u know that. Wow what times ur having now but I think u have control so much more than u used to. But it's just now fair for you tho, u should be so appreciated ur kindness to people is over the top. Everyone wants a nurse like you for anything. Still no snow for you--about time. we were supposed to get it today, but IDK they're wavering on it now, hope we dont, cuz we're not snow drivers and my DD is suppose to come over and help out this morning.
Oh SusyQ sending <<<PRAYERS>>>, So so unfair.
Well Ive had to stop here a bit my phones are going and I'm getting confused so easy these days.

Jazzy, it's windy here too. I hope you have a good visit with your sister. When do you return and when is the big day? I liked the Nationality joke.
Janky, good to see you poop in. Don't be a stranger.
Ill, good for you in training for that run.
Cami, my one brother that we don't have much communication with is actually meeting someone today with Zues.
All went ok with the heart cath, 30% blockage, which they say is not bad. She goes back to the home this afternoon. I picked quite a few beet greens and mustard greens yesterday, gonna cook em up and see if I have enough to can a few jars!

Goldie- Monday is the big day!
Cami- not sure why I like Janky, has a nice ring to it?

My name is Janice, my middle initial is k and last initial y - I am not very original as you can see, it works as a username though ... This forum is great, not so great as to why were are here of course, but nice to have different insights, strategies, recipes. It is hard to keep everything straight in my mind some days, my brains doesn't seem to function at 100%, so nice to know there are others. Happy Saturday! Sunday for those on the 'other' side

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday! I was hoping to have things out at work yesterday but the boss was in another office, so now I have to practice patience. Only one more week and thing go back the way they were, with me being much more specific when I give them my availability. I can handle one more week of craziness. I am waiting to see if anyone notices that I am putting in all the time I spend on the phone on my days off as worked time. Came to half an hour Thursday.I value my time, and I'm not going to give it away free anymore. I imagine that will make me unpopular, but such is life, right? Sadie says I should charge for all my time, so I'm going too, since she's such a good business pup.
Cammy--Yup, gotta stand up for myself, can't trust anyone else to do that. And some periodic reminders to the powers that be isn't a bad thing. And I've learned just how far I can trust them, which is not at all. It will help a lot when the weather truly starts changing. I'm looking forward to starting some seeds next month and getting the gardens and deck pots up and running. But will need to be a bit more patient for that. Dan is quite the man, that's for sure! So glad his business is thriving.
Goldie--I'm hoping the other nurses will speak up now that I have. I'll find discreet ways to let them know what I've done and what I'm going to do going forward so they can watch and see what happens and decide for themselves how to manage. I hope at least one will speak up, but I'm afraid she may leave instead. I'm happy to have missed storm #4! And perfectly ready to miss any more this season! Silly Sadie loves mud season, I'm not so crazy about it. Trying to keep the floors clean of mud is hard enough without having 65# of dog coming in totally covered in mud. She literally will roll around in the mud until she is just totally covered. She gets more baths during mud season than the rest of the year combined! Mom hasn't gone to my brother's yet, she has that set up for mid April, when the weather should be less unpredictable for driving.
Chi--I really hate freezing rain, glad it will melt off so quickly.
Jazzy--keeping trees alive in the desert must be quite the challenge! Not to mention a lot of work. I hope you can save your cherry. Happy upcoming 58th birthday! I also hope the visit with your sister and her partner is helpful for everyone involved. It's a hard time when there is a death in the family and someone isn't well enough to travel. As far as the Hospice situation goes, I'm going to see this through and see if anything changes. The director is not used to having per diem staff and seems to be trying to manage them as part time, which isn't how per diem works. I've got some feelers out for other situations, and have applied for a second situation in the Kaplan system, and still feel I can build up the teaching part so that I am less dependent on Hospice. I think I'm going to look into private duty work and see what is available and if it pays anywhere near enough to be a viable option. I just do not want to get locked into any set hours of work, I want to keep the freedom I have now to choose when I work.
Illi--the work stuff is wearing, the end is in sight, so that's good! Good luck with the race!
Goldie--good news for your Mom!

The freezing rain never materialized--just plain rain showers overnight, and then not a drop of anything. The counties to the s. and w., plus IA, got slammed, though--5-10" of snow. Hoping this is "it," but in Chicago you never know--we've had Easter snow and even an 8" snowfall the second week in April (first Seder night of Passover 1982). I remember climbing the stairs on the Midway tarmac for a flight to Phoenix on May 4, 1990--it had been 60F in the morning but by the time we were boarding that plane after lunch, big fat snowflakes were falling. It was 107F in Tempe that weekend, but as soon as we'd checked in at Sky Harbor for the return flight home, we changed out of shorts, sandals & tees into jeans, turtlenecks, socks & shoes. When the pilot announced on our approach to Chicago that the temperature was 18...F, not C, the vocabulary of the other passengers was so colorful you could almost see a rainbow.

New Mexico has the best skies. There was a fabulous golden glow last night at sunset. Here is the best shot I saw on FB from yesterday. Photographer noted on photo.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! What's everyone up to today? I'm loving the sun shine we're getting here today. Already over 40 degrees outside, may get up to 50, at which point I can turn off the furnace and open the windows and exchange some stale are for some fresh. Nothing like outside air, to my way of thinking.Sadie has been spending more time outside supervising the neighborhood. So looking forward to being able to see the garden again.
Chi--LOL at the rainbow vocabulary at the 18 degree F, not C! I can just picture that now! I've heard a few of those kinds of rainbow words on return trips to Maine from cruise vacations. From lounging by the pool to winter coats and gloves is quite the shift.
Jazzy--WOW, what a pic!

Mornin' ladies,
LOL I liked the rainbow one too Sandy, wow big temp. change. Hope Gordy's doing well.
Lori that test was actually good for ur mom. Glad to hear that and about Zeus too, All right I didn't mean that in the same level but u always know what I mean..
Kim I wonder why I ever feel the need to give u anything but "ATTA GIRL" remarks, u always know what to do and when and how to do it. Silly me, but the mud season should be soon for Sadie.
Janky u are so much more original than I am, I just used my full name and added gal, for whatever reason I don't know I guess u can see my brains haven't been 100% in so long I'm my "new normal" forever.
Jazzy that looks like a fire, Is it??? Safe travels my friend. Ur going to be a welcome to ur sister, I just know that.
Sandy u brought back memories, many yrs. ago I slept by my GF's house <with 3 other GFs> and it snowed so bad by Easter morning no one could get home, we had so much fun on Easter, we couldn't get home til evening, so it was great for us. And no company for my parents cuz of the weather so they didn't have such a great one---but at that age I didn't really think about it. So around our area we never know when snow will stop.
My older DD is coming soon, shower time. I get so nervous about that, don't know why, but I do. The shower head pulls down and I have a good chair, but still getting in and out is tough. UGH I know I'm complaining. But I do that best.
Oh I got a new phone for work, this man of mine is always improving stuff, I just got used to the other one more or less and now this. He explains it to me but come on, I don't ever understand him on how to do anything. He does know that and just laughs. Oh I feel like he should let me go and I told him that, he needs to hire someone for the office, he knows that, but he thinks she can do other things and just back me up. WTF why should he pay 2 people for one job, that's silly business. Bob calls me and tell me not to leave them, cuz we all love each other and I started with them.===I told them both business is no place for sentiment. I know I'm right. Right ladies???
I just found out that Leslie's Drs. want to take the foob out that's infected, I know I can't say I told u so. well I kinda did, I couldn't help it that was mean of me but it just came out, not quite like that but a little like that. Her Onc. wants to get the rads started ASAP and nothing is going right, of course. I get mad at the Drs. tho, no one told her the down part of getting foobs right away, but me and they should have, so she thought I was being dramatic---which u all know I am. Anyway so it's more chit. Oh I did put some blame on u gals too, of course cuz we all kind of agreed about that. LOL
No answering phones today so Sunday is here for me and Joey is home all week, I love it. He's so much fun and I love to cuddle. He's my man, sob not my little boy any more.
Have a great Sunday-Funday. fell well.

Morning, ladies. Well, the last blast of winter materialized here in the greater Cincinnati area. We had between 3.5 - 5 inches, depending on the community. About 3.5 at the Airport (where I work & live nearby). Due to the hilliness here, 3.5 causes difficulties, especially on untreated roads. So, hibernated all day yesterday. They say this is the last snow blast before spring arrives.
Thought of drinking this AM & had a generous pour of Chambord in my caffe mocha plus 2 espresso shots. Cheers to the end of snow & the start of spring!
0 -
Oh Celia they actually said no more snow??? Isn't that nice to hear. Nowadays snow and rain actually don't bother me personally cuz I work at home hahaha, but snow gets in everyone else's way. Yummy coffee u had.
Yay just reporting my shower's done, whew, what a job LOL, but she brought me one of my fav.'s shower and body lotions, so it was really nice.
0 -
Ah--2 espresso shots for the energy to face the snow and Chambord to warm you up...and say "the heck with it, let someone else shovel."
Gordy's recovered--that Tamiflu is awesome. He did his show Fri. night and went to a concert last night after the Loyola game was over. He's going out to dinner with us tonight at Il Porcellino. He stayed in during the game. (Loyola is actually our neighborhood school). Bob & I went to Cellars, which was packed, to watch the second half of the game (Loyola had a comfortable lead). Of course, everyone went nuts at the final buzzer. Had a flute of cava with my fish & chips.

Good afternoon friends- hope everyone is having a good Funday Sunday. Been busy doing spring cleaning, getting ready for my trip, and went swimming today too. Relaxing for a bit before I finish my tax package review to wrap up the tax stuff with my accountant so we can file. On to the next adventure. I plan to finish packing tonight too, my sister said the weather is variable right now so I am bringing layers.......
Cami- no fires here (yet). The skies last night here were gold, although that photo may have had a red filter on it. I saw another one by the same photographer than was very purple but brought out the same gold sky.
Sorry to hear the implant is coming out for Leslie, and I know it must be hard to not saying anything as I think there was risk from the get go. But she tried it, and now they can do something else. Hopefully it will allow her to get her rads done so she can finish treatment. And a nice shower with good lotion, whoot whoot!
Chi- really glad to hear Gordy is all better!
Celia- my friends & family back east are weary from the storms, although the last storm seemed to be much weaker. I hope Old Man Winter goes once and for all. We have spring going on here with more greening up all the time. I am glad you stayed in and warm on a snowy day.
NM- I hope you have a good week and that the hospice people get a grip on their crappy treatment. As a PT PRN you may be able speak more freely than anyone full time. Organizations don't like to be called on their BS, but as I was listening to something today about how certain dysfunctional cultures thrive. they do so based on people's silence. I hope you will be able to move along from them when you have something better to move to. I know you are still building up the other things you enjoy doing like teaching.
Janky- thanks for sharing some of the details on your handle. I still like your name! Janky, Jazzy, all things J. I hope you are feeling well this weekend.
I will be off line now through next weekend and will be back sometime in early April. Wishing everyone a peaceful holy week (Easter, Passover, etc.) and if you don't celebrate any of that, the beginning of spring here in the northern hemisphere and fall down under.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Monday Monkey Day! Has anyone else been watching Call the Midwife? The latest season (8, I think) started last night. Fascinating show. I love the way it portrays the changes in society over time as it tells the story of the Midwives. Watched it with a glass of chardonnay and Sadie warming my feet.
Cammy--I wish I felt as confident about what I'm doing as you are. I dislike confrontation but sometimes it's just necessary. I don't blame you about being nervous about getting in and out of the shower. That's a potentially dangerous activity. I'm glad you've got someone to help you with that. I wouldn't say that business is NO place for sentiment, some sentiment is humanizing and keeps things real. So I say let the boss decide when to make that change. I am so sorry Leslie is going through so much and now looking at having more surgery. You did what you could, you gave her the info, she made the best decision she could at the time. Women often aren't told the whole story about treatment options, which so badly needs to change.
Celia--That's a pretty significant last blast of snow before spring! Hibernating is good when the roads are bad. Love the drink!
Chi--So glad Gordy is better. Tamiflu is amazing!
Jazzy--Being the last week of case managing, work will go well enough, or at least I can keep reminding myself how close to over this mess is. I do feel like I am more able to speak up than the full time people, and I hope to make a difference, but I keep reminding myself that I can only speak for myself.Have a good time with whatever you are doing off line over the Holy Week time. And love the snowman voodoo doll!
Is it your birthday, Jazzy?Happy Birthday!

Jazzy, it's the big day! Happy Birthday friend and safe travels to your seester! Pretty sunset, and I agree with Cami, it looks like fire. Surely the photograper used some filters. Since you like anything "J", Jappy Jirthday Jazzy!
NM, I hope some of those other nurses do indeed take note! I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself. Sadie and her love for the mud would drive me bonkers. Hopefully she likes her baths! It's too windy here for me to open windows, my house would get filled with dirt and pollen.
Sandy, our temps here can def. fluctuate. Glad to hear Gordy is doing better,
Cami, I'm sorry you are scared to do your showers, but glad you have your DD to come and help. So what's the smell d'jour? Glad you have Joey home with you all week. As for the new phone, I hate having to get used to something new, especially when it comes to computers, phones, and web building. And I'm so very sorry to hear about Les's situation. It so reminds me of all that Wacko went through. Praying it doesn't get that bad for her.
Celia, morning cheers to you!
Well, we got one thing done, Zues is in his new home. Michael is her rescue person. He came with treats for him, my brother sat in the car with him for a bit, to make him feel a little more comfortable. I guess Zues got right in the car, which my son was rather surprised about, as he would only get in the car with my son. And Michael said he rested his head on his shoulder almost the whole way home, which was probably close to an hour. As for mom, she is back in rehab, hoping to get to long term. She called one of my brothers at 1 in the morning, telling him to come get her. Called my other brother this morning complaining that they were in there at 6 am, telling her to
get dressed for therapy. Also threatening to call 911 to come and get her. I just don't know what we are going to do with her. I so wish God would take her.0 -
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had my cleaning company here doing their monthly top to bottom cleaning, then plan next to go get a mani/pedi for my time in CA, birthday lunch, and a bunch of errands. Dinner plans later today too. My sis told me it will be very warm when I am out there, almost to 90 degrees. Think I need to repack!
Thanks again for the birthday wishes friend. My mantra for this year "I am 58 and it's going to be great!"

Holy Chit, I had a full post, and it went to postland, that''s so aggravating. I was talking to everyone, cuz I had the time now, but not much time anymore.;;
Jazzy I hope the whole month u have a great BD, just spread it around and ur sister will enjoy too.
Yikes I don't remember much I'll try to come back later, ifmy phones allow me. New phone new problems for me. Thank God for Joey being home, he's helped me so much with my phone.
Sandy I'm glad Gordy's doing well and now I know what to take if I get down with a flu.
And Kim Sadie is no doubt ur best friend and I might embarrassed u but u are a super smart woman that has taken control of all of ur life. I can't stop admiring you.
Lori I'm sorry about ur mom, but who knows she might get used to it in time. And i'm glad Zeus has found a good home. That should ease ur moms mind. Can she see Zeus from time to time or is that a closed deal. When I was in rehab there was a lady who brought her dog around every week, that was so nice, such a sweet doggie.
Oh I can't remember anything else. so...
LUBS U ALL
