OMG!   Can't believe the mess I've made snorting my ML all over the computer....Dee--your "toast" to big ears is so great!   I'm red-faced to admit that I didn't understand it until you kinda explained it--and that's when the ML went everywhere with my laughing so hard!!!  Pretty sure that one gets kept in my memory and pulled out with a certain group of drinking buds--who I know have never heard that!!!  WOW!!   Can't wait!   Pretty sure if anyone even says, "Cheers!" I will laugh!

Happy week-end to all--it is Friday--or is it Sat or Thurs?   Sometimes, being retired wears me out!

    love all y'all, junie

Hunky-thanks for having the firemen bring me a HopStoopid.  It has been a grueling 13 hour day.  My boss even called it "F^#*ing Friday."

Junie-I went back to page one and saw you there.  You're my hero.  Isn't the lounge a nice improvement?

Off to a hot bath with a glass of wine and a book.  Cheers all.

OMG, what a day I missed. (It was town day).

My laptop wouldn't work yesterday morning, now I see why. With all the snorting and laughing going on, I think it got all over my laptop and shorted it out! But I sure had a good laugh this morning. That was all just way too funny!

Carole, welcome back. I don't think I could stand coming here just once in awhile. First thing I do whenever I turn my puter on, is head right straight to the HTL! Just gotta see what my peeps are up to.

Going on the quad this morning out to our little Farmers Market to grab some nice fresh tomatoes. Ours are not quite ready yet, I am just now getting all the little critters under control, that have been eating all my plants. (Love my rat zapper).

    Have a great day girls.

Oh yeah, BTW..........I have big ears!

HA! I just can't keep up with you ladies at all!

    Okay, so it was a busy work week for me;

Had some weird cider-tasting beer in Bogota but brought back a better tasting one that I'd definitely buy again if/when I ever get back there. (no plans really, usually do Europe...)

Just got back from Frankfurt - last night went out and had one type of beer at the first place we went to, then had another type at the next bar and then another type at the last place (dinner - yum) we went to. Gawd - I like beer in the summer and I love Europe! Brought back some Bitburger which I will enjoy thoroughly very soon!

Oh, I guess I'm off the wagon? Broke into the JW Blue Label and it is fantastic!

    Cheers!

CAZ--I had to go back and check page one--whoa--trip down memory lane!    My memory is a bit faulty but I seem to recall that some time ago, when the boards only had like 4 or 5 threads, someone started posting funny things.  It was great and got a lot of attention--and, got a wee bit rowdy!  So much so that it disappeared for awhile until one of the updates...then resurfaced as the drinking thread........I'm probably totally wrong in what I remember--but, so glad the HTL has evolved into the same funny, caring, wonderful place to hang out!

Jaybird--I'm curious--do you earn frequent flier miles and get to use them?   Enjoy so much when you check in and tell us where you've been!  AND, what all dif drinks you have!   Damn, you mentioned that JW Blue again--just may have to get some for DH next bd--if I decide he deserves it!   I'm not a scotch drinker, but do you think it would wow him?

okay--ML in hand and heading off to our casino, then out to the pool--Jocks/Pants--keep 'em coming and don't worry--I'll sleep just fine in the hammock tonight!!!

Mornin' Ladies! Soooo overcast at home so had to head out to HTL where the skies are always sunny. LOVE the mimosa fountain the boys set up for us today...and looks like a yummy brunch buffet also. This is the life! Anyone not feeling up to it, I am sure our TT's will bring you whatever you so desire. Have a wonderful Sunday!!!!

Lori...a "rat zapper"??? Have never heard of that, but glad it does the job. Elaborate please, my DD in TX is out in the boonies now and they get lots of mice...maybe it will work for them too?

Jaybird....I am jealous...absolutely adore being in Germany! Glad you got to imbibe in all the local refreshment. Are you home now for a little while? Still want to see the pic of your adorable DD, pretty please....

Junie, Hope you slept well in that hammock..you sure LOOKED comfy...but maybe that was 'cause Jocks kept slowly swinging you back and forth...Surprised Well....I THINK that is what he was doing...lol. Looks like a big icy cold bucket of ML's next to the mimosa fountain.

Dee. Funny that you really were thinking "X rated" about the "Big Ears"....so Hunky was right in the first place, and we kept trying to figure it out (going totally in the wrong direction..lol). Nice to learn a new cheer to toast with. I am wondering if the Aussies we meet will actually say that...if they do, of course I will have a smirk on my face...or naughty thoughts!

Carol, Carole, and everyone I may have missed....don't overdo on the mimosas they will come up from behind and bite you without notice...its a hot day here and they will affect us quickly....BUT have a great time!

    Aloha nui loa,

Greetings!  Went camping last night with DH.  Sat up drinking by campfire until 1:30 in the morning.  A small female deer walked within 10 feet of us and just stayed there for a long time.  I just couldn't believe it.  I thought she wanted a beer or something.  Swear to god....she just liked us.  DH couldn't believe it either.  She hung around our camp all night...I had some weird deja voo as I remembered Stormy1 posting about watching the deer and fawns roaming around her home a couple months ago, and Lori saying you can keep em'.  Of course, some really strange feelings flooded through me.  Stormy, I am still praying you are OK.  I also want to warn you all that sleeping in the front seat of a pickup is not for the elderly even intoxicated.  I could barely move this morning when we rolled out of camp at 6:00am.  I don't think that 6 weeks out of surgery is quite long enough for what I did last night.  I am paying for it today, but DH was so anxious to get out of the house, I just said OK.  I have been vegetative all day and immediately went for pain killers when we rolled in home today.  DH has not been active either...LOL!  What fools we are!  I think the only thing I could drink today would be one of wahine's peach drinks with I Scream, and I need the banana hammock please when you are done with it Junie!   P.S.  Hotdog only dropped off stick into the fire once.  Happy Monday!  HunkyD

Hunky--the hammock is yours!   Bless your heart!   Your post brought back some fond (and not so fond memories of my camping days!)   I have slept on car seats; slept in a sleeping bag next to a roaring fire; slept in a tent in a sleeping bag on the ground in a winter coat and it barely 30 degrees outside.  And, have had the luxury of camping in a pop-up with A/C and heat for many years.   Nothing beats that late night campfire and watching beer cans melt in the white hot heat!!!   And, midnight skinny dipping--what a rush.   Ahhhhh, the good old days!!!   These days, my idea of roughing it is a 5 star hotel with room service!!!   You wanna see deer--come visit me!   It is nothing to have a small herd laying around our back yard early in the morning.    Hope you could eat your hot dog.   Nothing tastes better than a hot dog skewered on a peeled tree limb cooked over an open fire!!!   (well, maybe lobster at that 5-star hotel!!!)

big huggggsssss to all.   I don't dare say, "Cheers!"

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend.

Jaybird, at first glance, I thought you wrote bitchburger! Had to do a double take. Glad to hear you are off the wagon! I try to log in everyday, and even still have trouble keeping up! I too would love to see a pic of your little kiddle. How old is she?

Junie, I'm with you on the camping bit. We do ours, usually at a Hilton! Did the camping bit all while the kids were growing up. It was fun then, and I loved it. Just getting too old for that now.

Hunky, hope you are rested up and not in too much pain. But it sounds like you had a nice time together. On occasion, we will do hot dogs here at home over a fire. Darrell loves hot dogs. The first time I did it, I set everything up with out him knowing about it, then told him we were having a "A party for two" he loved it! As for the ears......I actually just measured them! My ears are 3" long. I'd say that's pretty big. I am with you on prayers for Stormy, I sure wish she would check in.

Kathy, the rat zapper is a battery operated device. You put the bait inside, the critters go in for the bait, and they get zapped. You pick it up, and dump them out. No trying to pry the little guys out of a trap. We use to sell them, but they weren't a big seller for us. A little pricey, but worth it to me. I think they run $40 - $50. Just google rat zapper. But if she gets one, make sure she gets the silver one, not the blue one. The blue one has the battery pack where you have to velcro it onto the top, the silver one, the batteries go right into unit. 4 D batteries. And thanks for the mimosa fountain, a great addition.

    Sooooo......."Cheers to Big Ears"

Hmmmm. I can't seem to figure out how to get a pic from photobucket to this site. I know I've done it before but whatever I'm doing now doesn't work, or at least the link won't preview a pic and I want to see the pic before I submit it to post. Any suggestions?

Ha! to Lori - bitchburger beer would definitely be a winner if it were truly a beer! And, if it's any consolation, my ears measure 2 3/4"! (and I'm only 5'2" tall)

Oh, I'm definitely off the wagon again! My lab/mix Stella got skunked (totally) last week and I'm still washing and airing things out. She had a de-skunking bath at the groomer which I have to say did work and was worth the extra $22 for the special shampoo and deodorizer.

No, Junie, no frequent flyer miles but I can travel for free (if space is available) most of the time.

    Cheers!

Jaybird, Hunky posted instructions a page or two before this one for Carol (AZ)

I highlight the HTML code and then insert it both in the message here and then when you click the little green tree, I put it there too. I end up with two pictures, but I cut out those before I post.

Jaybird doesn't need frequent flyers, she can fly all by herself with those ears! Just jokin there girl, you know that, don't ya? I don't feel so bad now, to see someone else with big ears, however....I am 5'9"

    Cheers to Big Ears Jaybird!

Okay you gals...this is sooooo weird....I bet you have everyone measuring their ears now!! I feel left out...just measures 2", prob cause I don't have earlobes! SO I had to get them pierced yrs ago cause (back when clip-ons were popular) I couldn't keep any other earrings on....DH keeps kidding me about that and looking to chew on earlobes that aren't there...lol. Some people just don't have them...skin is attached...my mom is the same way...don't worry though it is not noticeable. And Lori, your ears might measure big, but they don't LOOK big...really! You hairstyle is so attractive; really nice.

Ugghhh....Jaybird, I remember when my dogs would get "skunked" often, when we lived in the country. I would buy lots of large cans of tomato juice and wash them in it, and it worked pretty good. I hope you can figure out how to post a picture!

Hunky, Made me laugh about your camping adventure! We haven't been in years, and I used to love to camp in a tent, but now I wonder how my bad back would survive that. Never thought about that! We can rent brand new rv's from the military base, so might have to go that route and join junie in the a/c comfort thing. Made some fresh peach daquiris for you to help ease the pain---have some really nice ripe peaches again.

Think I'll wander in the casino and see who might be in there....oh I think I spy Junie at the poker table, downing her ML's. Jocks and Pants are shirtless again today, and working so hard getting all our drinks ready. Real eye candy thats for sure! And it is after 5 already, so its "Pau Hana" time again....drink up!

    Cheerio,

    Kathy

Who likes to drink Jack Daniels? The distillery in the small (dry) town of Lynchburg, TN is just about 90 min away. (Actually it always was dry, but in case they just changed it...sorry to misinform). Just got an email about his birthday that they celebrate the entire month of September (my b'day, as well as my mom's and bro's b'day....anyone else?), since they don't know what day it was! SO...we need to get ready to party hearty all next month! I'll be gone till the 16th, but I know you all will throw a wild party....here is what it said in the email:

As you might imagine, Jack Daniel's birthday is a mighty important event here in Lynchburg. And since we don't know the exact day that Jack was born, the folks in Lynchburg have decided to celebrate Mr. Jack's birthday all month long.

Sorry Lori...no spoiling it.  You look absolutely lovely in your pic.  My hair is at that stage where I can't do anything with it really.  I measured my ears and they are 2.5 inches.  I also added them to my avatar.  I am not leaving the bar tonight.

That little girl is such a cutie.  Is her name Katie?  Jaybird...posting  pics is a little awkward here, but it is always fun to see the little ones with a smile.  DH wants to know if that is a tupperware bowl on her head.  He accidently saw my screen.  I usually keep him away 8 paces away from these boards.  Even he said....she's cute!  I do have to say dear dogs eyes might have looked like mine Saturday night!  I am the happiest girl in the bar tonight!  HunkyD

Lori, Thanks for posting Jaybird's picture. Soooooooo precious!!! Her name is Avery, I think. I am so glad to get to see her....you sure have an adorable daughter, Jaybird. She looks a little mischievous in the pic, which is so cute!

Nice earrings, Hunky! You know, your avatar doesn't have earlobes either...must be related to me...lol.

Just checked in to see what everyone is up to tonight....lots of fun as usual...we have the best group of gals here!!! DH and I are watching movies tonight and I just took a break between them....really being total couch potatoes right now. Oops...I hear the popcorn calling me...

HA! Thanks, Lori! I'm not sure what happened but thanks for figuring it out! The pic isn't very recent, all current ones are on on my laptop which I don't use at home. Avery was being silly and Katey (she's the one that died in June) was being blinded by the flash I think.

WOO HOO!!!! Jocks, bring everyone a round of Bloody Marys or Mimosas, so we can celebrate. Not sure what Hunky's surprise was (if this is it, I am sorry to spill the beans, but I am just so happy I cannot control myself), but, I just heard from Stormy1 and she is OKAY!!!!! Here is an excerpt from her message:

I've missed all my buddies on the drinking thread while my computer spent most of July in Maine. We camp with the family on an island and there is no electricity let alone cell service.

This is such wonderful news, and I hope she will come back to the HTL as soon as possible. She did mention starting chemo soon. Now I have a big smile, and of course, the drinks are good too. Keep 'em coming Jocks...this is quite a day to celebrate!!!Cool

OOPS...sorry Hunky....I knew everyone was so concerned, that I wanted to share it. She didn't mention that she was going to post here, so I thought I should. Did not mean to ruin your surprise! BTW, if I had checked my PM's last night, I would have known then....don't always notice them though. Then maybe I would have put 2+2 together.I hope you and Stormy exchanged email addys so we can always reach someone....since we all are so close here, that is a good idea, really. Here's to a BIG, TALL, FROSTY drink for you (and my apologies)....ummm better make that AFTER work!

    Ok, it's Pau Hana time!

    What wonderful news about Stormy!

But Shhhhhhhh! I have the fire crew guys standing by. As soon as Stormy gets here, they are going to nab her, tie her to one of the lounge chairs, out by the pool. Strap her down, face down. Then the fire crew, Pants, Jocks, Hunk and the Thunder Boys........are gonna take turns spanking that lil butt of hers.................for scaring the ba jeebies out of us! Tongue out

Stormy, just kidding of course......unless you would like to oblige! (Sp) I hope you had a wonderful time and your leg is healing. We missed you so much, and were so worried about you girl. Please......don't ever do that again! We love you and are looking forward to having you back here at the HTL

Hunky, love your ChEARS! Which by the way.....has everyone measured theirs! Too funny.

Jaybird, I was so affraid you would be upset with me for doing that. I had no right to, but just couldn't help myself! She is so cute. How old is she? I had no idea you had such a little one. You must miss her terribly when you have to be gone. I think I would try to stow her away in my suitcase to take with!

Grabbing me a chair, poolside. Waiting for Stormy to show up~~~~~~~~~~~
