Hi all - I haven't been around since January.  My how time flies.

Junie - we just got back from Vegas and went into your favorite dive with the free beeds.  My dh and I just cracked up thinking of you and your gang in there.  Then we remembered the cup you held out for donations (not sure you would remember in your condition!!)

It seems things have really changed in my favorite thread.  There is no way I could read back 8 months but I do appreciate the pool and lounge.  Where did you find the bartenders?

I will try to check in more often now that my life is getting back to normal after tax season and a wedding.

Cheers to all of you.  Jaybird, Avery is getting so big and what a cutie she is.  I can still remember when you got to bring her home.  You must be so proud.

Sam--welcome back!   Have missed you and been worried; knew you were really busy there for awhile.

That Vegas dive was such a hoot--I laugh every time I think about it.  We did have a rip-roaring time there and got totally ripped!  I still have the cup that lights up--I use it to reward the grandkids on their visits--they have fun drinking out of it.   We've been going to Tunica, MS for our recent gambling trips.   As well as our nearest Indian casino which has been remodled and is very nice.   I got to meet up with Wahine and her DH on our last Tunica trip.

Summer's almost gone--not that we've had much of one, but our golf course is in great shape--hint!  hint!

Hope we see more of you--next rounds on me (drinks that is, not golf!!!)

    hugggssss, junie

Good evening all...I am just off work enjoying a bottle of bottle of beer!  LOL.  Working 8 hours a day sucketh (word?).  I want to just go to Junies B&B for a while.  I will bring a new oven mitt with me. I guess I will pack my golf clubs too.  Don't know if I can swing a club anymore.  Golfed for 15 years and then...kabam.  Wahine, are you home yet?  It sounds like you had a blast with Hunk.  Sorry you lost some coins.  That's usually the way it is for me too. I just play 21 usually.  It is rare you find a pit boss that even smiles, let alone talks.   Lori...have fun in Phoenix. Hope you can find CAZ.  Dee, hope your doing OK.  The expansion process seems to sour me a bit also.  Stormy, I would sure like to hear how Cooper is doing.  Has he been a naughty boy?  Hope your chemo is going OK.  Jaybird.....cheers, cheers, wherever you are!!!  HunkyD

Hunky--come see me and bring your clubs--and everyone else come, too!!!   I golfed for years, too, but haven't played for last couple of years--supposed to play Sat and am worried.   I was always the worst golfer--never, ever improved from day one!    I just can't take it seriously.   Here is my ideal round of golf which just might appeal to you....tee off with a pitcher of Bloody Mary's in the cart.   Play 5 holes, then as we cross the road to go to #6 turn the other way and drive two houses to our deck and finish off the pitcher there!!!

Having a few MLs at the bar then heading out to the pool.   Haven't seen Bouncer back yet so should be safe!    And, how crazy is this?   The club house at the golf course is now stocking Red Stripe beer (my Jamaican fav) and the grocery now has Modelo Especiale (my fav Mexican beer)--go figure--we are in such a little podunk, rural area--nearest Wal-Mart is an hour away--and I can get my two fav beers in minutes.   Now, if someone starts selling 1664 (Jaybrid, did I get the numbers right???) from France, I'll know that the end of the world is coming!!!

    big hugggssssss to all!!!

junie, Glad you can get your fav beers there....go figure! Looks like you will be hosting all of us sometime....(j/k)....I'm sure your DH would leave if we all showed up at your front door!!! You are a great host, but this would be tooooooo much. Maybe we can meet somewhere where we stay in a hotel and no one has to do all that work. When do your guests arrive? And the next group? Whew....hope the ML truck STAYS out front for a few days for you, in case you can't get away long enough to come to the HTL.

Well jaybird, hunkyd, dee, and everyone else....lets PARTY!!!!!

    Hey Kathy,

Wahine means female surfer right? Do you surf?

I have always wanted to do that, how they ride the board inside the wave is awesome!

Living in Ohio we don't get to go surfing, other than on the internet.

    TTYL :)

Hi Dee, No, "wahine" just means "female". My siblings surfed (even my dad when he was young). When my sis was teaching me to surf, all the cute guys would paddle over and she would go off with them....so I never learned! Thats ok though, as she broke her jaw when her board came back down on her...now they are tethered to you so that should not happen anymore. So I guess the way I can look at it is that I may have been saved from getting hurt badly (?) ! They ride the inside of the waves, mostly at "Pipeline"...it is very dangerous as the waves are humongous, so you need to be an expert surfer to try to do that. In the "winter" months, the waves are the biggest...and it is amazing to watch them, esp during the championship events.....right next to the road actually. Yeah, its pretty hard to "surf" in Ohio! The big thing now is the stand up surfing....they stand up and paddle all over...even catch waves that way. Different boards to do that, but it is quite popular now.

    Aloha,

    Kathy

late getting to the lounge today...shhhhhhhh!   I'm trying to tiptoe past all the sleeping bodies in the bar--too much brunch and drinking this morning......sorry!  just tripped over someone!   Calling to Jocks and Pants in a whisper--forget that--JOCKS/PANTS--ML PRONTO, PLEASE!!

ahhhh--nice, cold beer...heading out to the pool--y'all go back to sleep!!!

Junie, I just got here.  Glad to see another warm body in here.  I think we can use a few of these drunks for solid stepping stones.  Coors Light, Miller Light, we all scream for fun night!  I think wahine got sucked under trying to surf in the pool.  I know I am an idyut, but I still am trying to figure out wahines surfing description.  I thought people always tried to stand up when they surfed. Do they paddle out standing with oars now?  By the way, how was your golf?  Hope you had a good time.  Sounds like you have the right idea about the game!  XXOO  HunkyD

huggssss, Hunky--still whispering--nah, forget that--time to wake everybody up!!!  HEY YOU ALL--WAKE UP!!!

Think I know what Wahine is referring to but don't know what it's called.  Saw it on a Travel Show recently.   People are standing upright on surfboards (or very similar) but, have a double-edged paddle (like a kayak paddle) and they use the paddle to steer/move them through the water--no riding of waves or "hang ten".....WAHINE--am I in the ballpark?

Did have fun at golf--I mostly rode and enjoyed chit-chat with our friends.  Did swing the clubs enough times to know I'll be sore tomorrow!   And, to remember why I love/hate the game!   Our golf course is beautiful and scenic and just riding around it is fun.    We didn't do the BM (Bloody Mary) thing, but had a cooler of beer, so all was OK!!.

hmmmm..maybe we need to install a little 9-hole, par 3 here--we've got just about everything else!

Happy week-end to all!!   So glad all our booze is free and plentiful here!!!

    huggsssss, junie

It's whine time for me and that's all I know right now! Spent the last 3 full days up in MSP for aircraft training and am now home enjoying some cheap wine from France, via Trader Joe's.

Sunday is Avery's 3rd birthday and I'll try to post some pics as soon as I figure out how to.

In the mean time I'm going to relax, and celebrate!

    Cheers!

Awwwwww Jaybird.....what fun Avery will have tomorrow for her 3rd birthday!!!! She is such a doll...I do hope you will be able to post more pics! I agree with junie....please give her a hug from all of us here!Kiss

Sorry gals for any confusion....but yeah junie is right.....they get up on the surfboard in a standing position at the shore, and then stand up the whole time, paddling when needed...sometimes just coast....but catch waves standing up too. Unlike regular surfing where you are lying down when you paddle to catch the wave and then try to stand up. It looks so serene and peaceful when they do the stand-up surfing in front of my dad's condo....it is protected with seawalls, so water is calm until you get further out. They just slowly paddle around, standing up. But I heard it is hard to learn, so I "chickened out" when offered the chance on our last visit. Now I wish I had at least tried it.

junie, that was me you tripped over this afternoon....but I forgive you! We sure had a fun day, but yeah I guess we drank too much. Not so comfy sleeping on the floor. You would think the guys would have at least brought us some pillows...lol.

Hope everyone is having a good night!

Jaybird...hope Avery had a wonderful day and yourself as well.  There really isn't too many things more precious than a childs eyes with birthday fun.  Wishing you both a great day!  I wasn't sure if the bar had closed down for maintenance today, but I guess it's open.  Haven't heard from some of the regulars, so I was hoping someone would pop in and have a Sunday night drink.  Wahine, Junie, thanks for the explanation on the surfing.  I kind of figured it was something like that.  I would love to be at your dad's condo right now with no work tomorrow.  It sounds like a dream to me.  I am crazy about ya all....Hunkydory

    Goodmorning ladies!

Good to be back. Looks like I missed out on a PJ party and surf lessons! Would have loved to see Kathy trying to surf in the pool.....LOL! We had very productive talk at our meetings, lots of beer, rum & cokes, duck farts and had a Nutty Irishman, but it was good to get back home, for sure. Big hugs to Avery and a BIG BIG Happy Birthday. Didn't hear anything from CAZ, but one one of these days......it just has to happen!

Well, y'all know we are doing the "Blue Hawaii" theme for our wedding. Well, I want my grandson to give me away. My thought was to have him come over on the canoe with Darrell, get off and come and get me, then take me to the canoe. I sent a letter to him, asking him if he and his little sister would participate in the wedding. I also sent a short video from the movie of the wedding, so his mom could show it to him. He is affraid of the water. Well, she showed it to him and he wants to help paddle the canoe!

There was a message on my phone when I got back, they have results from something. I have to call back. But I am pretty sure they won't tell me anything and will have to schedule an appt.I will let you know what they say, thank you eveyone.

Thanks for the pic Hunky, I am keeping my fingers crossed too! BTW.....is that YOUR arm and hand? Do we actually see "some" of you????

    Luv ya all

    Lori

P.S. Just wanted to say that I really missed you guys, and since I didn't have time to check in while I was gone, I couldn't wait to get logged in this morning to see what everyone has been up to. xoxoxo

Welcome back, Lori!!! Am hoping and praying you will hear good results....let us know when that appt will be, and then the results when you get them. SO hard waiting! Oh, this is funny....it had been a few days since HunkyD posted that "good luck" pic, and when you asked about her arm and hand, I thought you meant the "feather" on her headband and wasn't seeing it right...lol. On a good note, that is FANTASTIC that your young grandson is excited about the canoe in your wedding, and actually wants to paddle it! Hope someone will be taking a video for you. What a special, special time that will be. I can't wait till after your wedding, and  you can show us some pics. You can always email them to us if you don't want to post them here. I know you have my email, and junies, and I think HunkyD's. Glad you are back here with us!!!

I'm trying to do a million things b4 our trip a week from today....yikes. I always hate to pack too, even w/ all our travels. But trying to get a few things done too. So, I guess I will have to refrain from drinking this morning....you all drink for me, okay!

    Bottoms Up,

    Kath

The gal was only calling about my lab work! Said it was fine, and it would probably be a week to ten days before I got results from the scans, even though the tech said that the doctor would probably have the results by today! That was one of the things that I liked about CTCA, where I went for my treatments, you had a doctor appt the day after tests, so the docs could go over it with you, NO WAITING!

LOL on the feather Kat! Packing I don't mind, unpacking is what I hate! Kind of like doing dishes, I don't mind washing them, but hate putting them away! As for video, I don't know if we are going to take the video camera or not. We are limited to 2 pcs of luggage each, so the video camera is optional at this point. But I must tell you, we have been laughing so hard at how Darrell is pronouncing Hawaiian names/words (I'm not much better) But the one we find the funniest is how he pronounces the name of the Hilton we are staying at, which is Waikoloa Village. Darrell pronounces it "wacky ola". Could you help us out Kat???? After you are done laughing!

Cute, Lori! My DH cannot pronounce Hawaiian names either, and he has been there many times. So, don't fret. Waikoloa is procounced WHY-KOE(rhymes with toe)-LOW-AH. But practice saying it faster. And Village is pronounced....well, you know that one...lol. Ask me any questions you may have about pronunciation, food, etc. AARRGGHH on having to wait longer to hear your scan results. But I worry when they call TOO quickly....cause then it sometimes means there is something to be concerned about. I see my dr to go over my blood work, tomorrow. Prob is, I had the blood taken right after being in Tunica for a few days, with all the buffets, sweets, drinking, etc. I don't think it will be good results....duh. The tech said "So you had a buffet, huh?", and I had to say, "Oh, more like TEN buffets"....not really, but we did have 1-2 every day.

    Almost Pau Hana Time!!!

Hey, Wacky Pau Hana everyone.  Lori, good to have you back.  Sorry you have to wate so dang long for the scans.  My onc doesn't believe in them so in a way I am glad about that.  Says they show false negatives too much.  Having my blood work makes me cringe enough.  Hope yours is ok also Kathy.  Really cute that your grandson is stepping up to the plate to get in the canoe and paddle even.  I hope you do take a few pics that you could share.  Seems like everyone travels somewhere but me.  Oh, forgot..I do drive about 10 miles to work every week.  My next vacation will be the same time Lori is getting married.  I am using vacation time for my next surgery.  Hope they have some great buffets in the hospital I'm staying at..LOL.  I am hoping to get out of that sucker hole as fast as I can.  Join me for a drink!  HunkyDory

P.S.  Why does our bouncer always get in the banana hammock and break it!  Makes me mad!!!  LOL

Awwww Hunky, I'm sorry you haven't been able to take a vacation, and certainly having surgery does NOT compensate for it....nor does hospital food replace a buffet! Get this all behind you, so you CAN take a vacation. And a much needed and deserving one at that. You can come to AZ....I'll put ya up and even feed ya!

Of course I'll post pics. I think you can put several in an album on photobucket, then share the album. I'll probably do something like that.

As for the bouncer....rather have him in the banana hammock, than my bed!

Whew!! bye-bye to last company and hellloooo to ones coming tomorrow.   All is cool--sheets are clean; bed is made; room is dusted and tidied--please don't open the closet doors!!!   Even have a cake baking, as I type!!!  Looking forward to their visit--new dog and all!!  (think I'm a glutton for punishment!!)

Lori--way great about grandson wanting to be an active part and paddle the canoe!   It sounds so lovely.   Time is getting close and we will all be so anxious to hear about it and see some pics.

Hunky--what can I say except one of these days all these pesky surgeries will be behind you!  I know it can't be soon enough.   Maybe then, you'll be able to do some non-medical traveling and have some good eats.   (Maybe a little get-away to my B&B????)

Wahine--good lord!  How much did we gamble when we met up with you at the Hollywood?   They are inundating Bob with offers of this and that, free rooms, meals--blows my mind!   We've been tempted a couple times, but know we've got to get this Sept wedding behind us and regroup!

And, don't tell anyone, but I'd MUCH rather be in Hawaii seeing Lori get married than attending my dear sweet step-dau's wedding--I have to bite my tongue to NOT ask her if she is having the event televised!!    s i g h !!!

Now, into the bar for a couple MLs then out to the pool--still no bouncer boy--wondering if Lori decided to keep him around!!!   Hunky, I'm thinking it was Casino Girl sneaking in who broke the hammock!!!  Wish we'd hear from some of the missing troops!

big huggggssssss to all!  Cheers to ears, rears and beers!!!

Junie, you are the "hostess with the mostest."  It gives me a lot of good feelings hearing everyones travels, life, and continuing good health.  Lori, you are so nice too.  What I would give to show up at somewhere near the  "wacky ola" at Loris wedding.  Junie, wahine, I also want to give myself a go at keeping up with you gambling women.  I think I can do it.

I also hope some of the "no - shows" would show up!!!  Casino Girl, Caz, Dee!!!  Come for a drink.  By the way CAZ, huzband is still looking for Hop Stoopid beer.  He brings home Amberbock usually, and of course my diet Coors Light.  I would like to have just a splinter of the Hop Stoopid.  I do have a dentist appt. tomorrow afternoon though.  I have some areas needing a drill.  Like I read on the Lagunitas Brewing page, they claim the Hop Stoopid will remove the enamel from one's teeth.  XXOO, HunkyD

    Hey Y'all!
I'm with you HunkyD, I also love coming in here to read about everyones shenanigans and events :)
I have to tell you I did something so stupid yesterday. When I was at my PS office getting another fill, I let him talk me into getting some BOTOX. Well....being the side effect queen, I resisted for a bit, all the while he's telling me to just stop worrying and that I will love it afterwards. Big boobs, no wrinkles WTH! So I relented. About a half hour after the stupid shots, I start to get sick to my stomach and just feeling weird. Panic attacks start because I know I am going to die. Well obviously I didn't because I am still here, but I do still feel kind of sick. Don't know if its just a coincindence that I got sick at the same time I got BOTOX, but I will never do it again! I did call the doc and he said not to worry of course, and if I have any trouble breathing to get to the hospital...what did I do to myself??!!! I am full blown panic mode now..HELP ME! LOL I am rambling on here so I will stop. I will check in to let you know what's happening..take care my friends and have a couple for me at the lounge :)

    Cheers to all of you!

Hi gals! HunkyD, be sure to tell us your surgery date so we can be thinking of you....and SOON you will have all the surgeries behind you, and can take a REAL vacation!!! Junie's B&B sounds good to me. Good luck at the dentist today!

Dee, so glad you posted again. WOW....what a botox experience you had! Hope you are feeling like happy hour tonight. If you want a purple botox t-shirt (botox is in jewels) let me know and I can send you one....you sure earned it!!! They run small and I think I may have a small and med. None bigger so I can't wear one. Never had botox, but my PS gave them to us at a seminar about PS. IF you want one, pm me your address, and if small or med, and then I will see what I have.

Just got back from the dr myself, and got results from blood work. Well, even with all that debauchery in Tunica right b4 they took blood, it is okay. Actually, I lowered my CHO by 11 points in the past 4 months...YAY! I think it is cause I try to eat 1c of blueberries each day, and have cut WAAAAAY back on imitation sugars, and have tried to eat more of the "super foods". Now someone, get me motivated to exercize (sounds like a dirty word to me...lol), so I can lose weight and get even better numbers.

Junie, Glad you are ready for your company today...whew....I could never get organized that quickly. Yeah, Hollywood is good about sending offers...thats why they get us there so much. Free rooms, free food, free slot play or table play, free drinks....hmmmmm....sounds good to me! Might have to try to fit another trip in sometime late Sept after our trip to OZ.

    Cheers Big Ears....etc.,

    Kathy

Ooooooo I'm feelin the LOVE and at the same time, cracking up!

Dee, I ditto what HunkyD said, but so sorry at the same time for the panic attack and getting sick and the possibility of trouble breathing. Oh my! A face full of fill and a boob full of BOTOX!   Too funny. Not meaning to laugh at your situation, but you must be on our side, reading what you wrote! I do hope you are feeling better real soon. Go lay down in one of the lounge chairs out by pool, I'll have Pants over there pronto to give you a relaxing massage and bring a drink of your choice. But do tell how the botox worked out, after you have calmed down!

Junie, that is sweet of you, wanting to come to my wedding. Of course any of you are welcome! (Gosh that would be so nice. But knows it wouldn't happen ;-(   Oh well ) And yet more company coming???? You will have to go on vaction to take a break!

Wahine, thanks for the pronunciation. Darrell says he will stick to his version, it's easier!

Hugs all around until Pau Hana!
