HAPPY MAY DAY
0 -
Mornin ladies,
Isn't today also some kind of like Law May Day or am I really screwed up.
OK Sandy what's wrong??? U poop in and just say what u think u need to say and that's it. I'm used to u explaining and talking more, ur being to quiet. R u all right???
Kim see as soon as u get everything under control u can always make it doable. Now that's the Kim I know and Love. U r such a special lady, I told u before I wish u lived next door to me, u know how many trips u'd save me to the hospital LOL Boy would u distant me from ur life.
Well my brother is doing all right <took some time getting out of being put out> but otherwise OK BUT I think I told u my SIL <his wife> is going thru dementia OMG she's so so mean, but she was the one that was always not very nice anyway.. She's called friends of theirs and told the wife that my SIL knows where my brother is and she's not telling her cuz she knows they've been constantly fooling around with hi, They live in another state. So our friend keeps calling my niece trying to figure out what she's talking about. Plus my SIL says there's all kinds of porn my brother has thru the house. No one has seen it but her. I told my sister wow at 85 he's really having fun. She treats her own DD like chit and she's just trying to help/ My nephews son will be getting married within the next few weeks and no one wants her there, believe she has a crazy mouth on her and it's all mean, really mean. Well we''ll see what happens. My brother is probably happy he's away from her, but the kids are stuck at this time.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Relax--I'm fine. Just had a few busy days, including a couple of days ago when ComEd robo-called and gave me only 20 min. notice that my power would be out for 3 hours so they could "make improvements" on my block. Had to scramble to locate flashlights, charge as many devices as possible, notify people to call me on my cell because my landline (connected to power modem) would be down, and fill a couple of ice buckets so I could have something cold to drink without opening the fridge or freezer. The 20 min. weren't enough--power went down 15 min. after robo-call. Couldn't go on line via wi-fi, because the modem & mesh network were on AC power. Couldn't stream because I'd have used up too much data. Moved upstairs where there was sunlight through the windows so I could read a Kindle book. Power came back on after 45 min. Evanston Subaru called to remind me of my recall-repair appt. Then yesterday, had to get to them early, drop off my car, pick up my loaner, make breakfast & later an iced latte, take a nap, order groceries, make packing lists for my IA trip this weekend, contact venues in search of future gigs, order tix to West Side Story (and post-show themed dinner) on a day Bob would be off (his schedule keeps changing!), go out to dinner, etc. Today, back to Subaru to pick up my car.
Then a back & forth with my neighbbor & my landscaper about my gutters & downspout extenders. Landscaper says my backyard gets wet enough w/o extending the downspout toward it and away from the path (and it's already pointed toward my lawn). He wants to be able to see the gutter from above to determine if the source of the ponding on the deck could be the gutter leaking or poorly angled (if the latter, one would think the gutter cleaning guy would have mentioned it, as another service's guy did about the front east gutter & downspout two years ago). So I have to go out to Home Depot (the smell inside sets off my asthma) and pick up a downspout extender for the NW downspout before the next soaking rain.
And playing Skype-tag with my voice teacher on Mon.--I never know if he'll be ready at our appointed time, so I have to carve out a block of time to allow for his lateness. He seems to forget the dates & times I'm unavailable, even though I text them to him. (Bob always forgets when I'll be out of town or gigging--it's on the wall calendar and I keep reminding him).
Let me explain why eating & drinking is suddently such a big deal: to ingest anything other than water (or other beverages), I have to take out my Invisalign "tray" and then after my meal or drink, brush & floss my teeth and clean the Invisalign before popping it back in. That's in addition to morning & bedtime. Kicker is I have to wear it at least 20-22 hrs a day (22, preferably) so I have to keep my eye on the clock while it's out of my mouth. While wearing it, I can't have anything hot lest it warp, or darker than white wine lest it stain (and even white wine will yellow it eventually) unless I use a straw (and we have only steel straws now for ecology's sake, so hot drinks + metal straws don't mix). Last night I started tray #2, and was shocked at the difference in color between it and #1, which I'd been wearing since 2 weeks ago. Still no pain--knock wood. This upcoming trip is going to be tricky, to be sure--I can't have anything but water on the road. If I want coffee, we'll have to stop so I can at least rinse my mouth and tray and put it back in. For actual food, I'll have to do the full rinse/brush/floss/rinse again dance in a public restroom. So my usual plan of bringing munchies in the car to minimize meal stops is out the window.
We went out for early dinner--DOTD was Dibon Brut Cava. Tonight with the leftovers, some more rosé unless Bob kills it off first. Tomorrow night is a Spanish/S. American wine tasting & buffet, so that's 2 hrs. with "naked teeth," which means I need to eat brunch & drink coffee as fast as is comfortable.

Hi ladies! Last night I had the best shake ever at Gordon Ramsay’s Burger. It was so amazing that DH said he wanted to love in ways that are unnatural between man and dairy, lol 😆 and tonight we had a cocktail called Fear & Loathing at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Thirsty Thursday! Boy this week is flying by fast. Yesterday was a bit gray but didn't rain and got almost to 60 degrees, lots of drying out happened. Sadie's mini pond is now a mud flat. Of course, it's raining again this ayem, so the pond may make a return appearance, but I could finally walk around the yard after work yesterday and take a look at things. Gots me some yard work to do. And Sadie is eager to "help"!
Morning, Cammy Cat!I wish I lived next door to you, too, so I could take care of you and help Leslie and watch Joey grow up! I love your reports on all the goings on. Sorry to hear about your SIL, dementia is so hard to deal with, especially when the sufferer is mean.
Chi--Good heavens you did have a busy few days! That Invisalign sounds like a lot of trouble to manage! Oh course, anything that gets between me and my coffee is going to be looked at askance by me.
Illi--that shake looks amazing! So does the cocktail!

NM, you can have the life guard of your choice. I hope you have a nice warm sunny weekend!
Sandy, oh my goodness, what you have to go through to eat, wowsa!
Cami, glad your brother is doing well, too bad about your SIL. If everyone understands her situation, as far as being mean, maybe they can just ignore her and try to be understanding. How are you doing since you have been home? When is Joey out of school? Your dancing kitty on the table is too cute!
Ill, yummy drinks for sure. Have fun, are you gambling?
Had appt. with lawyer yesterday, still working on our living will. Today is onc appt, need to be out of here around 7:30 this morning for my 4 hour drive there. Taking my Xgeva to see if they will give it to me, I'm having a horrible time trying to get 27 gauge needles to adminisiter myself. Back tomorrow morning! CheerZ

Good morning all! Sounds like everyone is dealing with life’s realities. Amazing how much strength you have when working through a cancer diagnosis and treatment while living life with all of its situations. I hope all in the Midwest are not having (or are safe during) the storms. Am I crazy or do these storms seems to be getting worse? Weather has been great here. Starting to get warm, but the humidity is not bad yet.
I will be playing Bridge today with my “Older Ladies”. They are close to the age of my mother, but lots of fun. Later I will pack for another girls weekend in the mountains. It is so much fun to sit on the porch with a beautiful long view of mountain ranges while chatting and drinking wine. Very therapeutic!
This is birthday month. I found two wrought iron chairs for my son’s front porch. They need paint and some cushions, but I have time to do that. Still want to take DH to Savannah for a couple of days. Just have to find the time around dr appointments and social obligations.
Chemo tomorrow before we leave for the mountains. Will have theNeulasta patch to contend with. It is fine until about Tuesday, then the aches starts. Just another fun experience! Take care all!

Goldie, yes, we are gamblers but just for fun. We brought $1,000, spent almost all of it but I won $450 on slots (cashed out with 300), gave DH 100, keep 100 and played 100. Then I won more, cashing out at $412, so I’m bringing home half. Not bad, I say.

Hello everyone!
Thanks, Sandy, for the information!
Goldie, glad your DD decided on pool! Also, thinking of you on your onc day with the long drive and whatever you all have to discuss.
NM, that blueberry drink looks good.
Cami! Cami! What an ordeal. Hope you're much better now.
Mae, love your photos and travel notes. Your DH has a good sense of humor, lol.
I had bloodwork yesterday and will have scans in a few weeks whenever they get it lined up with the insurance. It all gets mighty tiresome.

If I'm absent the next few days, it's because I'm headed to a science fiction in Des Moines to give a concert, and won't be home till Sun. night. Probably won't have time to post.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! This week really has flown by fast. Gots lots coming up so need to be getting my butt in gear and really cranking out the work at work and at home. I think it will be dry enoughto start working in the yard this weekend, too, if we don't get lots of rain today. If we get the showers and sprinkles predicted it should be ok. We'll see!Sadie is still finding enough mud to be a happy pupper.Little does she know that she's getting a total bath this weekend, cuz she is starting to smell like mud. That will make for an interesting little while.
Goldie--I hope the weekend is warm, sunny would be a huge bonus!Sorry you are having trouble getting supplies youneed.
Cammy--My kind of kitty!
Librarian--I can just picture you and your ladies on the deck with wine and chatter and a gorgeous view! The best therapy ever! Hoping the Neulasta aches aren't too bad this time around.
Illi--Bringing home half isn't bad at all!I think the slots are fun to play. I see you play the penny slots, too!More fun for the money!
Muddling--the insurance thing is tiresome. Praying for good results.
Chi--Have a good trip!

JCS, enjoy your Bridge day/night, your mountain visit and I hope you and DH can make it to GA. Oh Neulasta, how I remember that, the aches and jelly legs!
Ill, if you go home with some of what you came with, I too say "you're a winner"!
Mud, does your doctor do TM's? And do you get the results? I get mine the day after they are drawn (if I so choose to look). Do you get scanxiety? I sure do, but don't get them very often. I had scans in Dec of 2016 and then January of this year, so 2 years inbetween.
Safe travels Sandy.
NM, it's just one stinkin needle, I can't seem to find a 27 gauge, 1". I took my Xgeva with me yesterday, hoping they would administer it, that way I could keep my one needle I have left. NO, said they can't do that. I'm like WHAT??? Usually it's delivered to the doctor, but mine lets me do it myself. So because it wasn't "delivered" to their office, they couldn't give it to me. One nurse said she would get me some needles and winked at me. Well, she got me 1 of each, the two needles needed and a syringe, big deal!
Yesterdays visit was fine. He always tells me, it's my ship and I'm the captain. I told him I feel like I'm lost at sea and a big storm is brewing! Anyways, because I still feel fine, we will stay on the FU pills for now, but as soon as I feel any pain we will move on to something else. He is now thinking Vercinio and Faslodex, instead of the Ibrance. He says we treat the patient, not the TM's and also said how many doctors won't even do those, which I already knew. Need to do some inside cleaning and still not done with the painting and the garden, not enought time in the day, nor enough energy!!!
I think we should have a shaving or waxing party, what do ya think?I wonder if he could be one of our life guards?

Goldie, I do get TM's, and can see them the next day. If I want to know.I'm trying to ignore it as much as I can with the SE's. 😕

Hi ladies- been a busy week and also a bit of a stressful one with a new baby that is part of the larger family scene and came in to the world with some problems. Delivery was not going as planned (he was almost 9 lbs) and they did emergency c-section but he aspirated some things and then had breathing struggles. They transferred him to another hospital with a NICU, and he is doing much better. There is a good chance he is going home this weekend. We have all just been on pins and needles and hoping this would get turned around. Tough start for the little guy and the parents (first child), but he is coming through all this. Babies are fragile but also quite resilient too!
Third week on the new gig. Starting to come across the same old obstacles I have dealt with in the past but know how to work through them. I like the project and like having income again too (got my first pay earlier this week).
Lots of beautiful weather and all the trees are out and blooms galore. My fav nursery is down the road from me so I have been stopping there about once a week on my way home for things. As a friend said "that is going to get expensive through time" and I laughed but usually April into May is the big buying and planting time. I made plans for the drip company to come out in the next couple weeks and the tree company to come out later in the month for an estimate to prune my big ash tree out front. The pic below was my big take away from last night's nursery visit.
Taking a break tomorrow from this busy life of mine to go up to Santa Fe. More on Sunday and wishing everyone a good weekend!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday! Getting up to lots of fog but at least the rain has stopped. Hopefully the clouds will burn off today and the sun will come out. Wouldn't mind if it warmed up just a little, either. Sadie is already demanding my time and attention. She's trying to "help" me type as we speak, and had been in and out a dozen times already! Gotta love the pupper!
Goldie--What a pain in the butt. Can your doc give you a prescription to take to a pharmacy for the needles? That size is pretty commonly used, can't imagine why they'd be hard to find. And I don't understand them not giving it while you were at the office. Did they say why other than because it wasn't delivered to the office? That just doesn't make sense to me.Glad your doc is working with you and for you and not making you work for him. A shaving or waxing party certainly seems in order! If he doesn't want to be a lifeguard, maybe he'd agree to just stand around and be ornamental?
Cammy Cat--love the Friday dance!
Morning, Muddling!
Jazzy--Sorry to hear about the baby troubles, praying he bounces back and comes home soon! That is so scary to go through. Glad the new job is still going well. Love the succulent bowl! The trees are finally starting to bud out here, so there is hope. The grass is greening up, too, which is always a good sign.
Cammy--I hope I have things under control, got lots going on this month! We'll see how well it goes.

Hi ladies- took a break today and went to Santa Fe to go SHOPPING. Little upgrade for the old professional wardrobe. Saw some lovely things blooming (they are a week or 2 behind us). It was a perfect day to be up there.
The baby is doing better, still in the hospital with an IV but his mama comes to visit and is able to nurse him. Baby steps and the family is just getting through things one day at a time.
More tomorrow!

Mornin'' ladies,
A Jazzy I knew u'd find a way to get away for at least a day. I do hope the baby recovers quickly, that seems like that happens when a boy especially come a little early. But the good sign is the momma can feed him, I think Joey was 5 weeks early and stay in the hospital almost 2 weeks but he too was over 8 lbs, he looked tob ig to be all in this tiny tube and all hooked up. Damn I always end up talking about Joey. so hard when u have to see ur baby in the hospital
Oh Kim don't try to talk me out of u have control all I know is If u were my neighbor I would love it, oh u'd move mighty quickly, but I wouldn't let u go. U'd be living in a horror film,
It's been quiet in here everyone is either away or partying, well I'm here. My GF from HS called and the 3 of us are going to meet for lunch at the end of the month, so I'm glad about that.We don't do that enough. How funny, u spend all ur young life seeing these girls every day as yrs. go by u don't, I really don't get it. Well the one that moved away I talked to her all the time but we are the ones that went back fro 3d grade, maybe that;s why..
I'm sorry but I'm going back to Joey. He's been home all week with a bad back, so they said it's either goofy nerves with muscles or a disc. Why can't they just find out. Instead they give him muscle relaxers and he said when he lies flat it's not so bad, but he can't stand very long or sit. Years ago we'd call this growing pains, cuz he grew so fast, but I don't think that really happens anymore, or if it ever did.
I think I'm ready to take a nap now. silly, I know.

Mud, what kind of SE's do you have and where are your numbers at. Mine are like 325 and 350.
Jazzy, glad things are going well on the work front. Pretty planter you got, what nursery did you go to? We went to one out there, but I don't remember the name of it. I believe they sold some of our products long ago. Prayers out to your family that the little guy will be ok.
Cami, you seem to be a bit on the quiet side, are you ok? Kim would not want to move if she were next you, nor would I. You are such a joy, and I know this first hand. I hope Joey is careful with those pills. Why the heck don't they do some scans, good grief! I hope he feels better soon. When is school out?
NM, I did have a script. Seems CVS can get all gauges of needles except the one I need! The office I go to is now partnered with Honor Health, and there are so many rules now, even the staff doesn't like it. That dude is def. ornamental for sure! I hope things are drying out for you. Did Sadie get her bath?
Off to Vegas tomorrow, not sure I'll be able to check in until I get home. At the very least, I will read! Not looking forward to this. But camping in about 3 weeks for 10 days. My right foot has really been hurting, the outside edge. When I first get out of bed, I can barely walk, but after being on it for a bit, it eases up. Not sure how I'm going to do with all the walking at the show. I wore some boots with heel to the doctors and it started hurting the next day, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with that. I did not do a lot of walking that day, mostly driving and sitting at doctors.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Getting up to a lovely day today, sun is out, if a bit hazy. Cool but warmer than yesterday. Sadie's mud flat is drying out, so she's not dragging quite so much dirt into the house. Setting up a new printer today, the old one needed to be fed paper one page at a time and was driving me crazy, so I gave in and got a new one on the way back from the bean suppah. I hope this one works better!
Jazzy--Glad to hear baby is able to nurse, that is always a good sign! I hope the shopping trip was fun.
Cammy Cat--pretty bonnet!I cannot believe that living next to you would be like being in a horror movie. I'd expect it to be more like a slap stick comedy! Poor Joey, those growing pains can be problematic! Praying he feels better soon!
Nice DOTD!
Goldie--Sadie's bath is on the schedule for this afternoon. There's a movement away from doing scans when people have back pain cuz the findings are generally not helpful. The more backs that are scanned the more disc and other problems they are finding, many in people with no back pain at all. The thinking is that the pain is not coming from the boney changesas has always been thought since so many people have them without having pain and since so many people with back pain are not helped for any length of time by back surgery. I can't believe CVS doesn't carry one of the most commonly used size of needles in the business! Just crazy! Have fun in Vegas.

Vegas is work related, no fun to be had. We don't even like Vegas! If you can believe that!

Hi friends- happy Cinqo de Mayo. Now with that, you all have permission to have your favorite margarita. My favorite is a top shelf made with any good type of tequila and some Grand Marnier. But given tomorrow is a work day, I won't partake, but if any of you are, enjoy!
Goldie- my fav nursery here is called Jericho Nursery. They are owned by the Rowland family, which was "the place" to go when I first moved here 20 plus years ago for their supplies. Not totally sure what happened, but supposedly just could not keep that biz going and they closed in 2005. Yet, when I discovered Jericho around 2012, I learned one of the owners started that one a few years back. They did some of my relandscaping when my two back yard trees died (the drought has killed a good 1/3 of the trees here). My trees they put in are doing really well too! The smaller nurseries compete with places like Lowes and Home Depot as you know, but think Jericho has diversified enough to make it work. When I went this week, they were pretty cleaned out of perennials and are having a good spring. I am all for supporting the little guy (and as we both know as biz owners, we need to support other small businesses).
I am sorry to hear your foot is hurting. There is something called Toprocin that helps with foot pain (although I know your foot pain may be from bone mets). I have used it for foot problems and thought I would suggest it if you can find some at a store in Vegas. Check Whole Foods. I hope the trip goes okay (I am not a big fan of Vegas either).
Cami- I am so sorry to hear Joey is down with a bad back. Been a stressful time for the family this past year and perhaps his body is just rebelling. I hope he is better soon and does not miss too much school. I is this the end of 9th grade? How is Leslie doing?
Any big plans for Mothers Day for you and Les? Maybe your other DD too?
NM- I am visualizing you and Sadie both ending up with a bath today! Having done dog baths for my sister's dog long ago when I lived with her for a year in the 1980's, I always say that both the person and the dog get wet. Good thing is you have a water lovin' doggie there. Are you still getting snow or is it just still cold there? I always remember the warm months being July and August. Maine is lovely in the summer but the summers are very short. I hope you have fun today.
Chi- I read back you are on a trip for your music and hope everything is going well for you.
Ill, the Karens, Celia C, Mistyeyes, JC, and everyone else, how are you doing this weekend?
Hope everyone has a good sunday funday and margarita day!

Jazz - when are in Denver area, or did I miss it?
Gorgeous week-end weather but rain (and maybe snow) for mid week!!!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey Day! Boy was yesterday a beautiful day. I even got to sit out on the deck for a bit, until the hammock chair broke!Fortunately I was getting out and so landed on my butt on the deck and not on the supports.Sadie got her bath, you should have seen the looks she was giving me while I was cleaning up after! But she smells a whole lot better than old mud now.
Goldie--can't imagine not having ANY fun while in Vegas, but if it's a business trip and there's no time to sneak away for a few minutes, I guess I can see how it could happen.
Jazzy--Oh, yes, Sadie bath time is shower time for me, too. I just strip off and climb in the tub with her, get her all cleaned up, then shower myself off. Then I get out and wipe down the walls, flush, sink, and floor to mop up the water she shakes off and get the bathroom cleaned up, too. Then I have a load of towels to wash and dry! It's a bit of a production, but one with a lot of good outcomes! No more snow here, I don't think. Finally warm enough to enjoy being outside for a bit. Drying up enough that I should be able to start doing some yard work soon.

Here is a pic of the view from the porch of the mountain house as clouds are rolling in. I could watch this view change for days! We really enjoyed our time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Caught up on the library drama, ate way too much and made plans for more fun in the future.
The next pic is after a storm has moved through.
Ready to catch up on house chores and get ready to meet with my Oncologist. I left him a list of questions and some articles about MBC. Seriously thinking about a second opinion, but have not decided yet. Every day is a new day.
Let's have a great week!
p.S. I am not ready to admit what my stupid mistake was about loading pictures. 🤪😂
