Hi friends- just checking as I am working from home this ayem as NM would say. This was to be my day I was going to Denver that I postponed (and glad I did for many reasons), but had made apts for the drip system folks to come to do maintenance, as well as reschedule my monthly cleaning. Drip system got a face lift and they are coming back to do some deep watering stations around the trees for better coverage, or "phase 2" as I call it. I also have the cleaning company here today that was moved up from Monday. Heaing in to work soon and will also be on site tomorrow too given my home time today.

Janky- I am sorry to hear about the accident with your family. It sounds like everyone is okay except for the son. I hope he got home okay? I am sorry the car got totaled and know the duress of having to buy something quickly after that happens. Never easy. Hope thing are better for the family soon. Take care of yourself and get good rest sister.

NM- I am like you where I am normally to bed by 9 a.m. I am often up early and have things to do in the yard and house in the am and also after work so when I go down, I go down hard! I hope you can get more caught up on your rest. I bet there is drama from the old job site and bet you can enjoy hearinit from afar now. I find many issues just come back to cultures that organizations have that allow and reward these toxic managers and behaviors to persist. I am glad the new work is going well, yay!

Chi- I remember having to sign for wine I had shipped from Napa years ago and having to plan to be home for the delivery and signature. It's a hassle.

Cami- I hope you have fun at the wedding coming up. I know you have some great things to wear and hopefully you will find the right thing. I always have family members I don't care to run in to at family events, but just do my best to avoid them. And of course, if they get all up in my business I say "oh hey, I need to go catch X, talk to you later". Or never, lol. I hope Joey is doing better too? Your family is still recovering from a lot.....

Goldie- It has been a nice week here after the rains last week. I hope your camping is fun.

I am out of the rabbit hole for now, and told myself they already told me they expected it was probably basal cell and they could do Moh's surgery on it. i find so often they know even before the path report, but need it to confirm and finalize the plan. I work with docs on my project and one was eyeing it yesterday asking about it and said I had a bump removed and we were double checking to make sure it was not anything more. But you know, no hiding those things from clinicians, and he said "well that is in a scary place." I went through part of bc treatment while I worked there back in the day but kept it private as I never did chemo and that is the thing that is usually the give away. I just told him I am keeping on top of my health, they like to hear that!

JCS-how is the mouth feeling after the tooth extraction? Hope you are doing okay.

Okay I need to shift gears and be ready to leave soon. Will keep you posted on any updates on my biopsy results but probably won't hear until sometime next week.

Jazzy, hope all goes well and they were wrong about it being malignant—and if they were right, that the Mohs surgery gets it on the first pass.

Cami, you’ll look gorgeous in whatever you choose for the wedding.

JCS, bummer about the extraction. Good excuse for milkshakes.

It’s too much of a PITA to use a UPS pickup point. The ones nearest me have no parking, and the one with parking is in a suburb 15 miles away. Plus that package had half a case of wine in it—not gonna carry it to & from the car & up my stairs. That’s what they pay UPS for. It did come yesterday (with our regular delivery guy, who confirmed that sometimes the temp subs “cut corners” to leave the tougher jobs for the regulars).

Heading for my Derm appointment soon—up in Lake Bluff in a severe t-storm warning, in which part of the route is flood-prone. But I’ve postponed it twice now. Hoping she can tell me how to deal with my nape-of-the-neck hairline zits other than pick at them (don’t judge—stress makes me revert to old habits, like peeling nail polish). Past couple of days have been zapping them with Burt’s Bees salicylic acid/witch hazel toner and Oxy-10 cream. (Bacitracin doesn’t help). She might biopsy them to see if they’re really just seborrheic keratosis, folliculitis or mild psoriasis. (Hate to think it could be—ugh—bug bites, but I’ve had them recur in about the same place for >20 yrs).

Cami, take care—just issued a tornado warning for counties bordering DuPage on the west. (I’ll be up in Lake, just getting drenched)

Thanks for being there with me on this. You are the best!

My DH and I went for a walk this morning along one of the rivers that flows through Columbia. Really a pretty walk while the weather is nice.

    image

This is the Broad River. We did not see any alligators today Thank goodness!

    image

This is the canal side of the walk. This canal was used in the 1800’s to move merchandise and cotton to market.

    image

My Crinum Lily is blooming! Love this show-off in my courtyard. Wishing everyone a wonderful TGIF tomorrow. My mouth is fine today after the extraction. Tomorrow is the start of three weeks of chemo. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Hello - me again! Thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers. So far my family are hanging in, my son and DIL are staying in Georgia till Sunday now - the airlines waived ALL fees!!

Jazzy - It is going to be very tough for dad to find a new car, my mom walks with a walker (which is actually what saved her from being more severely injured, it doesn't 'walk' anymore ;) )

Chi - stay safe in your travels, hopefully the dermatologist will have an easy fix for your zits!

NM - so glad you are in your new job!! I get it that Sadie is confused with those hours, ha ha but she wants you to get to work on time in the ayem!

Cami - I wish you all well - whatever you wear will be great!

JCS - how is that tooth? I too will be needing an extraction but will wait for a while as I have impending cataract surgery, colonoscopy and don't need anything else to add to the mix right now.

Hugs to you all, this is the place to be for me :) Cheers! Janice

Yay, Jazzy! This is dermatological Good News Week: those nape zits are seborrheic hyperplasias. My derm says just don't pick at them. If they seem inflamed, keep up the Oxy-10 and astringent toner, and perhaps massage a drop of low-dose CBD oil (the 3mg/dropper bottle I got in Amsterdam is just fine) on them and see if they shrink. I do have a red flaky thing on my inner thigh that started out a couple of months ago looking almost like a spider or tick bite: it was round, red with a cratered center, surrounded by a pale skin circle, surrounded in turn by my normal skin tone. Over time, it's shrunken, gotten flatter & flaky. She said she could have biopsied it to see if it's basal or squamous but thinks it's more likely a lichen planus, related to psoriasis or eczema. She said even if it's malignant, waiting 6 months to follow up wouldn't make it spread--so we'll see what happens. It could be gone by the followup date.

Kim, on the way home from the derm (with a side trip to Costco for $2.89 gas--cheapest I've seen here is $3.29, cash only) I stopped in at a WF that roasts its own coffee beans. (My WF lists only "fill dates" on the bins, so they could be up to 2 wks old). Found San Pellegrino Essenza in Dark Morello Cherry/Pomegranate in 10-can boxes, so I bought one. They ditched the foo-foo foil cap. Tastes pretty good. My MO says grapefruit-flavoring is ok, so I also bought a bottle of WF's citrus blend seltzer.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day!My cousin got in from Vegas yesterday afternoon, she's got some stuff to tend to today, then it's all visiting for the rest of the weekend. Sadie and I are heading out early tomorrow to go visit and will be staying at Auntie Libby's Saturday night, back home probably late Sunday. I'll be taking my Kindle, but probably won't be on line much, so don't be surprised if I don't post over the weekend. Sadie knows something is up, she's been bouncing around all ayem. It's been a while since she's had a car ride, so she's be very happy!

Jazzy--wow, you are getting a lot done in one day! Gotta love days like that. Phase 2 of the irrigation sounds really good. I should just about get caught up before the long days come around next week. One of the joys of working a job with irregular hours! But that's part of the fun, too. I am very glad to be out of the old office, sounds like things are getting worse. I feel badly for the people who are left, but glad I'm hearing it all second hand. Glad to hear you are out of the rabbit hole. It's still a scary time for you, I'm sure.

Chi--Glad your regular UPS guy was back, and sorry to hear that the sub likes to cut corners. And it's too bad that it's known that happens and nothing is being done about it! Good luck at the Derm.

    Jazzy--HAPPY DANCE time!

Librarian--What a beautiful place to walk. And what an amazing blossom! So pretty. And glad your mouth is feeling ok.

Janky--so glad the airlines were helpful to your family. Sadie does take very good care of me, better care than I deserve!

Chi--HOORAY, more good news! I haven't seen the Cherry/Pomegranate here, but I do enjoy the limonata, pompelmo, and aranciata rossa. I like the mineral water, too, but rarely buy it.Gas is just outrageous right now. I can remember when I would put a $20 bill in a certain plain in my wallet, and that was gas money for a week!Doesn't even fill the tank anymore.

Cami, you are always wanting pictures, now we want pictures from the wedding this weekend. So sorry your brother can't make it to the wedding and hopefully his wife will behave, but it sounds like that is not likely! Anxious to hear about that drama after the wedding is over. I am not surprised that you "bling" stuff up, that is something my mom would do.

JCS, I hope the tooth extraction went well and doesn't give you any issues. 90 and humid, no thank you! Going away with a beach view, awesome. And I'm sure you will be sharing that view as well. Glad you didn't see any gators either! Pretty lily. I should go out and take some pictures from my garden.

Janky, good to see you, sorry you are so worn out, remind us of what you are on. So glad everyone is ok from the accident. I've never broken ribs before, but I hear it's very painful. Come to think of it, I've never broken anything.

NM, glad you got to at least get that little nap in between those jobs and I'm sure Sadie was like "what's going on". I knew there had to be something going on at the old place and also certain that it must remind you of how glad you are that you left, and probably should have done it sooner. You just enjoy your weekend and don't worry about even catching up come Monday, just tell us about the good time you and Sadie had. That cocktail sounds pretty yummy and very pretty as well.

Jazzy, I have to laff at myself, seeing you guys going to bed at 9 and here I am going to bed at 6, rarely make it to 7 or later. This morning we were up at 3, so no wonder we go to bed so early! Yes, some illnesses are easier to hide than others, chemo being a dead give away for cancer!

Sandy, our UPS is pretty good most of the time. The biggest problem we face is the rain, they will call and say they can't come it's raining. Well, it might be raining where you are, the sun is shining here. And we always call to tell them when it's not a good idea to venture out to our area. Glad your wine made it! Hoping all is ok arouond your neck, I don't get zits anymore, but I am a picker and a scratcher. What is seborrheic hyperplasias? And hoping the thing on your leg is nothing to be worried about.

OMG JAZZY, a wart! Who would have thunk. So so happy for you, you must be ecstatic. So was the whole thing removed or do you have to go back for that? Happy Dance!

DH had to have some spots on the top of his head froze and a biopsy on a spot on his back, so most likely surgery in the future. This will be an on going thing for him, as skin cancer will always be popping up on him. Gonna be windy her for the next week or so. I'm having trouble getting my seeds to sprout in the garden, planted a row of bush beans, more than 50 seeds and only 3 have come up. My Turkey Craws (beans) are doing good. Some of the tomatoes have already gotten blooms on them.

Happy Friday, the beginning of a long weekend in Canada! Family doing okay, my parents are particularly in pain, as is son with broken ribs! It will be a long flight home to Australia on Sunday ;)

cami - enjoy your wedding weekend, pay no attention to anything (one) that bothers you!

NM - Enjoy your visit, catching up is always fun! Of course you deserve all the best and Sadie knows that for sure!

Jazzy - so glad it is a wart! Honestly though, with anything 'odd' on my body I thend to fuss a wee bit more that before BC...

goldie - I am glad to be back and looking forward to next week when my body has caught up to the rest of me if that makes sense! A busy weekend planned with family, then 'normal' life resumes...not really sure what normal means. I take letrozole and Ibrance (palbociclib) which totally takes my white cells down, my dose was just dropped from 125 to 100 mg, so hopefully it will help me and my neutrophils...I really don't have many SE, lately body aches, fatigue - and who can't relate to that?!

Wishing you all sunshine, love and laughter this weekend. Cheers Janice

Hi ladies- heading in to the client site. A bit more on the questions here.

Goldie-Yes, they removed the whole thing but I have a sort of "hole" where it was removed and hope it will heal up. I see signs of it, but if it does not completely close, there is probably a chance I will need some additional attention there to make things better. Will give my body time to do what it needs to do and then go from there.

Janky, anything that feels or looks off is something I worry about in the post bc world. I had a basal cell a couple years after my bc dx and just got going on it to get it removed. I have learned a lot about places you never want to get a skin cancer, like around the tear ducts!

Chi- they told me for now to just keep it moist with the vaseline while it is healing but going to look in to your recommendations.

Okay, more this weekend. Thanks for all your support ladies!

Jazzy - great news!! What a relief to be told its a wart! I had a wart removed from my foot several years ago and the podiatrist sent it for a biopsy. After BC any biopsy is nerve wracking. How busy is your schedule when in Denver.

Two weeks and counting till the school year is over!!!

Jazzy, wait for it to scab over before applying anything other than Vaseline. Warts are viral in origin but harmless. Now that yours has been removed, there is no "inflammation" to deal with unless the surrounding skin shows signs of redness, itching or pain (but no signs of infection).

Lori, a "seborrheic hyperplasia" is the result of a hair follicle's overactive oil (sebaceous) gland that is so plugged up with sebum (hardened oil--the plug that comes out when you pop a blackhead) that the skin around it thickens & hardens. ("Hyperplasia:" overgrowth).

Kim, I see that the Pellegrino you mention is not the no-calorie, no juice, no-sweetener "Essenza" flavored mineral water, but rather either the "Momenti" 40-calorie fruit-juice containing version (in the foil-capped tall cans), or the original Limonata, Aranciata, Pompelmo and Aranciata Rosso, which also have not just fruit juices but added sugar. (Basically, they're just "natural" soda pop that people mistakenly think is healthier for them). Fruit juice (except the small amounts of lemon or lime you squeeze into or onto something for flavoring or to boost acidity) is for all intents and purposes sugar. A 4-oz. glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice or pressed apple juice/soft cider has as much sugar as a can of regular soda pop. Nuh-uh, not for me. There's enough sugar in the foods I like that I'm not going to add stuff with sugar content (not to mention extra calories) that doesn't satisfy my taste buds. But that's just me.

Anyway, I like my iced lattes, but unless I want to do the whole remove-brush-reinsert Invisalign hoo-hah, I have to drink them through a straw (making sure there's enough milk--dairy or plant--to render them pale enough that even with a straw the "backwash" doesn't stain the aligners). First time, when I switched to Aligner #2, #1 looked almost brown (especially around the edges of the molars) by comparison. I was more conscientious with #2, but though it ended up paler than #1 it wasn't anywhere near as colorless as #3, which I'm wearing for the next 1.5 wks. (Soaking in the cleaning crystals or even diluted peroxide didn't make the yellowing fade away--once it's there, it's there). I have to save all my used aligners in the (hopefully unlikely) event I will have to remove them for longer periods of time like surgery or root canals--and either go back to the immediately previous aligner or start all over again.

I've been using a stainless-steel straw at home (Bob is adamant about not merely recycling but reusing plastics, and the plastic straws don't hold up well to the latter), but it's very long (not very purse-portable) and transfers heat from hot coffee to the point where it can burn my lips due to the longer contact time than with just sipping directly from the cup. I want to be able to go into a Starbucks or other coffee shop when the latte or nitro-cold-foam craving hits, without having to remove the aligner, so I went trolling on Amazon for portable collapsible reusable straws. Almost all were stainless steel, till I found a pack of reusable collapsible silicone ones (won't melt in hot beverages nor transfer heat) and a teeny carrying case. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. We'll see.

Meanwhile, sipping some of that WF Citrus Blend mineral water after having had brunch, featuring a pour-over cup of fresh-ground Metropolis Schweik's Blend (various Indonesian beans, roasted med-dark). Reason it's "brunch?" Because I'm a late riser--and by the time I've brushed, showered, cleaned up kitchen detritus I was too tired to clean up the night before, feed the cats their wet food (for Heidi, in tiny "courses"--she's finicky and Happy will gobble it up if I leave it untended--and then he'll puke it up for me or my housekeeper to clean) and prep my morning meal & coffee, it's at least 11 am if not noon, and I probably won't want to eat again till at least early dinner.

Speaking of housekeepers, I won't have Carrie again till Tuesday. Her husband is a prostate cancer survivor, heart patient, and T2 diabetic with inexorably advancing kidney damage. He's a Vietnam vet, so he gets treated at the Hines V.A. (and sometimes the adjacent Loyola Med. Ctr.) closer to their W. Side home. Today he's getting an upper endoscopy (ugh). I always give her the weekends & holidays off. And Monday is Dialysis Boot Camp at the V.A./Loyola. He's had so many trips to the E.R. and hospital admissions/discharges (the V.A. won't allow, for safety reasons, for such patients to drive themselves or take taxis or rideshares, nor will they pay for medi-car service) that she's had to take off tons of time and is utterly exhausted. The only time off she takes is either for him or for some dire family emergency or funeral back in Birmingham (very, very rarely something happy like a vacation or reunion--which often ends up with her husband ill again). She doesn't get any real "me time," and when she tries to, something always ruins it. She will eventually need knee replacements, so I expect a bit of role reversal helping her like she's helped me through my own surgeries.

Well, I spoke too soon: my back went back out at 3pm when I bent down to feed Heidi and again when I reached for the scrubbie cloth to loosen the schmutz from my portafilter. This time I slathered on CBD balm, lidocaine & menthol roll-ons, and Voltaren gel, did several sets of piriformis stretches, and used the heating pad. I went upstairs to dress, but Heidi was circling my bed and chirping for me to lie down so she could jump on my chest to comfort me--which she did as I lay there, knees up, then R ankle across L knee in stretch position. I fell asleep (light on) and when Bob called and woke me up to tell me he was en route home, I discovered I'd been lying completely supine. Stiff as a board...if a board could feel pain. I know a back spasm is Nature's brace to protect a vulnerable disc, and that it's only pain (nothing torn, nothing broken), Still....

Bob's bringing home eggplant parm over linguine, so I will grab my cane & reacher and hobble over to the wine rack to find a barbera or Chianti.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Saturday!Heading out shortly to catch up with the visiting cousin. Decided not to drive down last night, I worked a bit late getting a newsletter finished, and was beat when I got home and didn't want to drive in the dark and fog. Looking forward to having a fun visit. Sadie knows something is up and is very excited. She did NOT let me hit the snooze button this morning!Of course, she gets to take a nap in the car on the drive down. So not fair!

Goldie--yeah, that nap between teaching and CPR was a lifesaver! But it does highlight how out of shape I've gotten! Ah, well, I keep working on it.

Janky--praying for you and your family.

Jazzy--hoping the "hole" heals up on it's own. Keeping it moist (vaseline is great for that) is important. The body is amazingly self healable!

    Morning, Karen!

Chi--I didn't know there was any other version of Pelligrino! Probably not available around here, but I'll look again. Thanks for the info. The silicone straws sound interesting. I'm really curious to hear if they work for you.Sorry to hear about your back troubles!

Jazzy, DH just had a biopsy and he has to keep his moist too, vaseline and a band aid.

Thanks Dr. Sandy for the explanation...lol. Interesting on the silicone straw. So sorry about your back and hoping you recover quickly. I have thrown mine out in the past and it's no picnic, that's for sure.

NM, I think age has a lot to do with things too, but I'm outta shape as well. Sadie was just anxious to get up andgete going, but funny about her getting to nap on the ride there. Enjoy your family time.

Finally some of my seeds are starting to sprout, but not my bush beans, so cray cray. Yesterday was another windy one. Jazzy are you getting these winds?

    Mornin' ladies,

Wow the time is jumping by.

Jazzy so happy it was a wart, but it sure didn't sound like one. It's true every time they order tests it's like twilight zone appears and when ur out of the zone it's such a load off ur back. But good thing u were busy that does help.

Kim LOL LOL LOL Sadie, that furbaby is a wonder, we all get to enjoy her antics but u get them in person.

JC u walk where there are gators??? u brave people, do u see many. Jeezz I wouldn't ever do that.

Hey Karen good to see u poopin in.

I'm so mad right now cuz I can't member much that I read and it's on the last page so I can't go back. So if I get mixed up that's why.

OMG the accident, how awful...Pain usually sets in the day after too with so many things. But really glad it wasn't worse. Broken ribs really hurt, do they do anything for them now, yrs ago u just had to wait for them to heal ick.

Oh Lori yep it's blinky whatever I wear, but that won't change how I look, I just like bling. and with slippers too, how silly I'll look. I never got to shorten the hem but I did find a new scarf with bling on the edges I can use as a belt and blouson the dress, so maybe I can get away with that.

Dan came over last nite, I'm learning a new program again, he keeps on making it easier but learning isn't easy for me. So I'm also going in the office Monday to see the set up, and he doesn't like my puter and wants me to have the touch screen and new key board. I really told him don't invest any money in me, I'm not worth it cuz then he'll have to teach me how to use it. Since I passed 70 < a few yrs. ago> it seems like my retaining anything is harder that when in my 60's. I shouldn't complain cuz I've made it this far with all this crap.

Leslie surgery is Friday and Marty's is the next Monday after , should be lots of fun in this house. I really wish I could help. We'll get by.. Electrician don't do that stuff.

Well I washed my hair and did my nails last nite but forgot to sleep, so I'll take my shower soon and then just rest the rest of the day, I hope I'll just take calls for a couple of hrs. We have been busy the last few day starting at 3am with sump pumps, just to much rain and power outages, which Com Ed doesn't do as much as they used to. They tell people to call an electrician and the other nite it was live wires which they are supposed to take care of first so my phones were burning up a nd we had to call Com Ed. IDK all these things get to confusing to me what we do and what we won't, especially when this wakes me up. Oh well.

OK I'm going to try and get things started here. I know my sister and I are for sure sitting at the head table, with my bat crazy SIL so we'll see how that goes.

    LUBS U ALL

Oh Sandy I thought I talked about ur back I hope it gets better quickly, I never had my back go out like u gals, but that is miserable. cuz I member my cousin with her back. Doing the smallest thing could kind of snap it and she was down for a few days. Good thing u know what to do.

Oh, Cami, so sorry I've not been keeping up (my backache and Quora swallowed up my time) and missed your birthday! Here's to extending it to the entire weekend. Thank goodness Happy doesn't remember having had balls...

Slept last night on my side, knees bent, pillow between them. Still woke up stiff and in agony. Inched down the stairs one step at a time. Piriformis stretches didn't do diddly. Only the "Bonesmart Cocktail" (800 mg. ibuprofen & 1000 mg. acetaminophen q.6-8 hr)., lots of topicals, CBD twice a day instead of just bedtime, using a reacher instead of bending down, and spending most of my time tethered to my wraparound heating pad has kept me functioning. Moving smoothly though cautiously. But I'm afraid to go to bed even though I've got to get up early-ish to have breakfast, shower and feed the cats--we have tickets for a matinee of West Side Story at the Lyric Opera at 1 pm with a themed dinner at 5 in the opera house's restaurant. Don't want to wake up stiff again. Bob says to wear both a Flector (aka Voltaren) and lidocaine patch overnight--too dangerous to sleep with a heating pad and nowhere to plug it in upstairs anyway. Oh, and we're in for massive storms just when we'll be en route (hoping the liftshare driver is able & willing, because I'm in no shape to walk to & from the train--especially changing lines on an elevated platform during a possible severe storm (or even tornado watch). The show must & will go on, so no cancelling our tickets (we've already paid).

Our family shrink is likely retired as of now--he e-mailed me that his cardioversion & ablation didn't work and he's having open-heart surgery Tuesday. Not worried about me--my primary care doc can keep tabs on my Wellbutrin (it's been a maintenance med for 20 yrs) and I don't need counseling. But he's treated Gordy ever since he was a severely depressed 13-yr-old. Gordy's been seeing him every other month (when he started it was twice a week, then twice a month, then every month till two years ago). He saved Gordy's life--and made it possible for him to grow up into a fine young man with no demons to wrestle. I'm hoping the work they did will enable Gordy to seamlesssly transition to a new therapist to keep tabs on him and his medication. Meanwhile, I'm putting him on my prayer list and next Friday on my temple's Mi Sheberach list (I will definitely attend services). Makes my backache pretty damn trivial--it's only pain, after all. Pain never killed anybody.

DOTD: Joel Gott unoaked chardonnay, with the salmon I made. Tomorrow, likely cava at the opera house.

Cami, remember all the life guards? So it's ok to be bumped into the pool. Well, that will be one wedding aniversary you won't be forgetting! Happy Birthday girlfriend. Can't wait to hear how the wedding went and what problems, if any, your SIL created. What kind of surgery is Marty having? LOL at forgetting to sleep!

Sandy, I'm just cringing in regards to your back.

NM, I hope you and Sadie are out enjoying family or home resting and sleeping in.

Happy sunny Sunday - and it sunny, but chilly - 42! My son and DI getting ready to head back to Australia today, nursing the ribs and sore bodies...my parents are okay though dad finds it difficult to get up as it really hurts his left side, he is back to doctor on Tuesday, thank you for all those prayers and good thoughts!

Cami - Happy birthday, I always loved birthdays and now they are even more appealing ;) They leave ribs alone still, no taping, just painkillers for 3 days. I am thinking it will be a looo ong flight home today.

Chi - I would love to know how the silicone straw works for you as I too 'reuse' plastic and have just purchased stainless steel, would prefer something like silicone though...

NM - hope you and Sadie are enjoying your cousin and the weekend as well!

Sheesh - I too am having no recall of previous page and do NOT want to lose what I have typed here. Have a happy Sunday, stay warm and away from those gators for anyone who walks near them!! Cheers!

Hi friends- happy end of Sunday Funday. Been quiet here this weekend but expect everyone is busy with graduations, weddings, getting started on summer vacations, gardening and more. It was a cooler weekend here and we have some rain forecasted this coming week for about three days. A storm on it's way in tonight and will leave tomorrow, and then more later this week. I read the Rocky region may have a cooler than normal summer, but okay with that as we have had some scorching summers the past few years.

Goldie- yes, we were getting the winds here Thursday in to Friday. It was windy yesterday too, some tonight as well. I expect you will get the rain before me, which also means mud. But think you are also away on vaca soon too?

Cami- how was your wedding and birthday?

Janky- I hope your son and DIL make it back okay to Australia. Long flight to deal with when you have injuries. I hope your son will heal quickly.

I am glad I did not go to Denver as I heard it was icey rain on Friday and some snow may be moving in with this storm. Karen be safe! Winter won't let go.

Have a good week ladies and and safe travel if you are heading out somewhere for the long holiday weekend early!

Image result for funny sleepy cat memes This has been me, after one of my nites out, so I hope to catch up later today. Remember when I tell u about the wedding, out of 300 people, 100 spoke Italian and English, 100 could not speak English, only Italian and then it was our family. Thiis was a doorway into the past of living in a Chicago area of all Italians and it was so over the top. Italians <most> are all about show and food, there can't be enough show and never enough food.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Back to work Day! Sadie and I had avery wonderful weekend visiting with the cousins. Silly Sadie got wiped right out with all the tummy tickles, ear scratches, treats, fetches, cuddles, walks, and generally attention. She slept hard in the car on the way home and in bed last night. But it was a great time to catch up with the cousins, got to see almost all of them in the area at one point on Saturday or Sunday.

Cammy Cat--Umm, Not sure I want to have that convo with that kitty!

Goldie--Praying for aB9 result for DH. Sadie and I had a great time this weekend.

Cammy--learning new stuff can be hard, but it's good for the brain, or so they say! I'm thinking you'll get used to the new system pretty quickly. I'll be praying for your whole family during surgery week. What a time in your household! I hope the wedding was fun.

    HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, CAMMY!!!!!!!

Chi--oh my, I hope your back straightens itself out ASAP! And It's hard when a long time provider retires or moves. That's a big change to deal with.

Goldie--Sadie and I had a great time, although lots of sleep wasn't part of the deal!

Janky--we did have a great weekend, thanks!Hope your family's travels weren't too uncomfortable.

Jazzy--the weather folks are talking about thunderstorms here this afternoon! That's a sure sign of spring.Still chilly enough to have the heat on in the evenings, though. Looking forward to the holiday weekend, in a big way.

Cammy Cat--now THAT is a good weekend plan!

For the DOTD I would add a shot (or 2) of Citrus Vodka, or dark spiced rum:

Janky, I read a post and then type a reply to that person in notepad or Word, go the next post and do the same. Then I copy and paste it in, but not before refreshing the page, just so I don't bump anyone in the pewl. For me, that is usually Cami or NM! Safe travels for your son and DIL and good luck to your dad as well.

Jazzy, it's been windy here for a few days, I think just some rain today, barely a sprinkle this morning and lows heading into the high 30's. What the heck is going on with this weather this year.

Oh my Cami, you posted late! Can't wait to hear about the wedding and funny cat meme. And now you are up again. And as I mentioned before, I refreshed the page, had I not, you would have been in the pewl!

NM, welcome back home. Was your mom able to join in any of the visits? Or perhaps this was your dad's side of the family? So glad you and Sadie had such a great time. Almost sounds like she had a better time than you! As for DH, it will most likely come back positive. Back in the day, he had a landscape business down in Phoenix and didn't have much hair, and now has hardly any at all. But being exposed to that hot sun on your head and back, as they didn't wear shirts, well he is paying for it now.

    Mornin' ladies,

OMG I have to actually go in an office today...just saw it when Dan bought the building warehouse was empty, both offices were empty---How..dare he ask me to actually show up But anyway Thank u for my BD wishes u gals are great.

Janice it was so nice to read u can't member the last page either.

Lori when do u get the results back??? Things better start going ur way NOW.

Sandy I hope ur back is better, boy u don't let it stop u, I give u loads of credit. I hope u got to enjoy everything u planned.

Jazzy u take such pretty pics. of scenery , u know I don't remember things. Did u ever say u took pics for a hobby or any other reason. Cuz it looks like it. Actually when I see some of the pics u gals take, I honestly can't take good pics. so again I give u credit.

Kim ur DOTD sounds like a great one actually, I can try that one..

Well one thing about the wedding was from the time we sat down for dinner, all thru it they played loud Dance music, so noone could actually talk to one another so my SIL who my sister and I sat by never said a word, of course we hardly talked either so it's ironic anyone was worried about what she would say. But u couldn't miss all 12 couples being introduced, all in spot light <which they didn't need> all the women were in gold sequins that were their own light with a really long split that it almost reached the low v necked top WOW and when the bride and groom were finally announced she sparkled like tinkerbell and then all these sparklers came out of thes huge balls of flowers <very high> on our tables. The bride and groom looked adorable But one of the non speaking English screamed fire <they should have warned some people I guess, but she was calmed down with some wine, WHAT ELSE??? The food started with about 8 appetizers a couple I really liked, the ravioli with pesto and something else none of us recognized but it was good. We thought it was the main courses all put down at one time til the sorbet came out, then the usual soup and salad. Well my sister and I couldn't eat anymore and it was 10PM we knew we had to stop. And Lori I was under dressed compared to the Italians there, it was like a parade for a tribute to sparkle all over the place. U felt like sparkle dust was going to be on all the food too.

My phones are going. blah Mondays I hear my cheerful voice on the phone and I wonder how do I do that at 6am, oh one of the Wonders that was never mentioned about women.

    LUBS U ALL

It is Funday Monday here in Canada - our May long weekend! We had our two 4 year old grandsons for a sleepover in the camper last night - so much fun! Hotdogs and marshmellows on the fire, then stories and lights out at 10 pm - they slept till 6 am, so pretty good overall! Now getting them ready to return to their moms - PHEW!

goldie - I will try the copy paste next time, thank you for the heads up!

NM - It sure sounds like you totally enjoyed the family, always great to catch up - right now I am quite content to chill at home with DH and me (at least for a few days)! It has been a fun, family filled 3 weeks and now we need a wee break...

My oldest son was here for 5 days, and is now on his way home to Florida, while number 2 son is on his way back to Australia, and number 3 son, who is number 2's identical twin, is back at work, not too far from where we live.

Have a great week everyone. Cheers!
