Mema--a few things to respond to your post.
1. "Sorry" is not allowed in the lounge. None of us have or do anything to be sorry for.
2. Even though we have a lot of fun here on this thread we do realize what is going on with all of us. This is a safe place to post anything, anytime, any feeling.
3. Holidays are hard times for many reasons, and being the first holiday without your Mom AND the first after diagnosis it's bound to hit you pretty hard. It's important to let that stuff out, to recognize and allow the greiving, anger, whatever as it comes. For me it's almost 5 years after diagnosis and start of the 3 years of hell and I'm just now beginning to deal with that part of it. I send my sympathy on the loss of your Mom, and tell you that having a good cry while cuddling with the pooch is a very healthy thing to do. Spending Easter planning a funeral isn't fair, you should all have been celebrating the holiday. You have every right to be sad, angry, upset, tearful. Everyone here in the lounge understands that.
That's why we have crying towels all over the lounge, the casino, by the pool, at the entrance, in the rest room. . . .

NM - OK, I'll try to remember the 'sorry' taboo. Thanks for the towel...OK, all dried up now.
Wahine - Thanks! Will meet cha in the lounge later n I really won't mind if ya 'bump' my rear off the stool again.
Bernie - she bumped me off my stool my 1st night joining ya'll in the lounge...somethings we jes never forget...lol. But she did find me the 'purfek' safety stool...lol.
Thanks again....love ya'll n I'll b back!
Oh, I jes realized my DX shows the 19th...hafta fix that...someday.

Excellent post to MemaSue, NM.
Bernie, "Bumping" is when we are posting, and by the time we hit "submit" realize that someone else has already posted, so its like we "bumped" into them. At least thats how I view it, someone else might come up with another meaning, and thats ok too! EVERYTHING is allowed here...such a purrfect place to be.

I post pics a bit different than Bernie....as long as the pic is on the internet somewhere (like Google images, photobucket, etc), then I just right click and "copy" it, then right click and "paste" it here. A small window comes up and asks if I want to allow that, click OK. Sometimes have to "paste" again after agreeing to the small window. Hmmmmmmm.....maybe my way has too many steps! LOL Whatever way works, though!!!

Bernie-"bumping" is what we call it when we are posting at the same time or very close to the same time.

MemaSue-Many more towels (and shoulders) where that came from, avaialable 24/7! How to post a pic depends on what browser you are using. Firefox won't let you copy and paste, you have to copy the link and use the little tree icon. Internet Explorer lets you copy and paste. What browser are you using?

MARGARITA TIME!!!

OMG, Bernie, you have me in stitches here. uhhhh, I hope your new teeth are prettier than those animals. And don't stop!
Mema Sue, sending you hugs and dwinks. So sorry you had such a rough day and are missing your mom. I also loved NM's words to you.
Can't spend much time on here. We have been going non stop and I am soooo tired. The "boys" are burning today (a big huge fire of yard debris) while the girls are resting. DH and I are going out to dinner tonight with friends and mom and dad will eat at home, we will take them out again tomorrow. We had a little incident after TG dinner last night. I went ahead of the guys as DH paid the restaurant tab to help my mom to the car. My mom is very slow moving from a stroke she had a few years back. I was putting her in the back seat and she fell and was wedged between the floor of the car and the road. I started to try to get her up but realized I could not do it. I shouted very loudly "can someone please help me". Two very nice men came to my rescue, we got Mom in the car. She was very shaken but was not hurt. My Dad and DH only saw the tail end of the incident but we were all shaken up. It is so hard seeing my parents struggle.
Juliet, where do you live? I thought you were from Florida but you used a term for weed wacker and I now realize you may live outside the US? Have I been too dwunk to notice?
Scuby, howz de weather? It is nice hear, now at 63 degrees but was very cold last night. We are blessed with awesome weather here. It looks like the nasty weather left the coast yesterday (well except for NM).
NM, enjoy the snowy view and know that I am thinking about you as your surgery approaches.
Love ya gals!
Cheerz, tiddy up and buttz up (mr big dat is)!
ps... who made a joke about Chrissy B's TG greeting from down under, now THAT was funny......
Well that's it for now. I have been reading but not spending too much time online. I miss you gals and love you all!!

DorK, oh my GAWD what a big scare that was! It is such a fear, to have an elderly person fall, as it is so easy to break bones. Sounds like she made it ok, with no injury, but that was so scary. Glad the 2 guys came to rescue the damsels in distress....yeah they took one look at smokin hot Dorothy and how could they resist??? Hoping for NO MORE mishaps!!!!! Glad you are having a good time, and sure sounds like you have been on the go! Lori first mentioned Chrissys post right below my post of the guy barely hiding his "down under".
Slurp.....oh my these ritas are mighty good!!!! Keep um coming Jock! (Remember Pants is with MemaSue, pampering her all weekend). *hic*, is it the salt or the likker that is affecting me????
hugssssss

Its almost candle lighting, so best jump in the shower.....be back tomorrow night....HAve a good week-end....Karen

Hi all, pleased to announce - no problems drinking with new teeth. Good weekend to everyone

Hello ladies! Bernie, loving the pics! You have to use photobucket for your own stuff... Too funny!
Cheers to all of Youse!
DorK, sorry your having such stress, it isn't easy.
Was a spectacular day on Frieday, weekend even better. I survived my turkeyday festivities, 15 for dinner and 4 more for dessert. Many things to be thankful for.
MemaSue, ditto it all, Hugz! My DH lost his father on thanksgiving 2002 and it will always be such a bittersweet day for us. Agree with NM that it's not fair to have to deal on a holiday. Raising one of Kymn's Ritas for dat!
Oh well, just got a call from work for something soooo not worth it, likely not going back to sleep. Stupid tamoxifen.0 -
Good early morning, Loungettes! Up early cuz I can't sleep well tonight, don't expect to sleep well tonight either, not even gonna try Sunday night. Had a lovely snowfall, very pretty, all shoveled and plowed out, now it's going to get up into the 40's and 50's again. Make uppa you mind, Motha Nature! Glad I've got work today, and it looks like I'm working Sunday too. Got a call last evening from the boss, she wasn't happy about the "wheeling and dealing" that went on with the Sunday work time.

I personally don't care just as long as I'm off call at midnight. Apparently the nurse who took the coverage from the assigned nurse and then asked me for the 24 hour call would have wound up with a considerable amount of overtime, which is a BIG no-no right now.

Not like it's going to be any big thing, there is a grand total of 1 visit scheduled for Sunday right now. I know that will change, but not by much, I'm thinking. (Watch that turn into famous last words!) Ah, the trials of a working girl's life!

DorK-so scary when your Mom falls like that. It's hard to see our parents declining physically. I thank God that my Mom is still so active. Yeah, she's slowing down some, but she still walks and does whatever she wants for the most part. She's going to get her first shoulder replacement as soon after the first of the year as she can get it scheduled. I suspect she'll do the second as soon after that as possible. I still remember the day she called me from rehab to complain that the soap was too slippery and to bring her some better soap! Told that story at Thanksgiving Dinner, too. Again. He he he.

Kymn-drink one or two of those for me! I'm on the wagon from now until a few weeks after surgery. Working now, won't want to put alcohol on the raw throat after. But I want to watch you enjoy them!

Wahine-I second the vote for no more mishaps, and for a repeat post of the barely hidden "down under"! Personally, I think it's the interaction of the salt and alcohol that does the trick, but what do I know?

Karen-Enjoy your Shabbat dinner! Sounds yummy enough for Thanksgiving! (giggle, giggle).

Mema-We've added to the HTL staff to meet the growing need of the growing number of loungettes, so feel free to take Pants for the night. As in ONE night. Then I want him back! No, dear, keep him as long as you need him, but do bring him back once in a awhile so the rest of us don't go into Pants removal, ah, withdrawal. With so much food around do you think we need to add a gym to the lounge amenities?

Bernie-glad the new teeth drink well!

Scuba-do you get calls from work that are really just to see if you would answer the phone? Sometimes I get calls like that. I try not to let them get to me, but when they make it hard (or impossible) to sleep like last night, well, my thoughts are less than Christian, shall we say.

Princess Glitter Sizzle says todays DOTZD is "The Morning After"
1/4 pint Vodka
1/2 pint FirewaterDirections
Combine ingredients in a pint glass with plenty of ice. Stir well, and serve.(This one's to make up for the occasional drink the Princess posts that leaves out the important ingredient--alcohol!)

Kathy, I am one to leave dishes until the next day when I have company too. Glad to know I am not the only one. But like you say, I don't want them to help, plus I want to visit with them. Especially cuz we don't get much company!
Bernie, you are so funny! Did you figure out how to chew?
Mema.....SORRY (aka the "S" word) is not allowed here. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom and you can tell whatever you want here. We are here to lend an ear, and even a shoulder. Glad you were able to receive the comfort you needed ............. and a drink! (oops, I see NM has pretty said the same thing I did, just goes to show you how true it is, and how true we are). Well, I see now you ARE feeling better and even got the Beanglish goin on............and OH NO, you have give Kathy (Wahine) a new name, Wawa! Like she needs a new name?
DorK, so glad your mom is ok, that is so scary. I live 2000 miles from my mom, and she has told me about times she has fallen, she is a large lady too. But then she tells me how she didn't get hurt and says it's cuz God had caught her, and let her down easy. Also hoping that you didn't hurt your arm.
Scuby Luv, glad your big tadoo went well, but dang....WTH time did work call you? Sorry about the sleep issues, but I can totally relate!
Oh dear NM......now I'm glad I don't live that clean/healthy life style! As for a gym in da lounge.........my vote is no. I want to come here and be BAD! Besides, we all have the poifect bod here, remember?
Ok, remember how I posted about our clock being messed up and was over an hour ahead of time. Well, we were at our neighbors last night, and she said the same thing happened with their clock! Now how bizarre is that? And then, their son (my little buddy) well, we were talking about Wal Mart. His cousin had gotten a job there and then was fired. Well, I had said to John, you would be a great Wal Mart greeter. Let me hear you say "Hi, welcome to Wal Mart". So he says "hi" and then pauses, as if to be thinking, and I say "Well, hi what?" He says, just as clear and serious, one word................"JACKASS"! We busted out laughing, and he was serious! Also went to the movies yesterday and saw Tower Heist with Ben Stiller, Eddy Murphy and Alan Alda. Pretty good movie, I recommend it. Grabbing me some Morning Afters, a little bit of MrBig and gonna have me a great day!

Morning Goldie - It's not that I was trying to give Kathy a new name...I ended up back in the lounge late last night, PANTS jes kept pourin n pourin...n I kept tryin to tell him to go find her, but all that my tongue wud let me say was Wa-Wa, Wa-Wa, Wa-Wa...PANTS finally figured it out. neway, I got that "it was a train i tell ya" headache this morn....guess I'll go back to bed. NM - I agree w/Goldie - NO to the gym...but love the new stools! Sorry u didn't sleep well last nite, n OK...PANTS can go back now. I 'think' we had a good time, can't remember much...lol. I'll be keeping ya in my prayers n will have a dwink or 2 fer ya til u can join us again.
Bernie - glad no prob with the dwinky...that wud be jes too much to deal with fer sure...love the pic!
Scuby - thanks for the toast...think PANTS was too free w/the quila last nite, but WTH...I had it coming...er...mayb it was the train a comin...er...heck...I dunno nothin...gotta go back to bed!
