I just reserved a wonderful place to stay a week on the island of Madeira next year. I love it there, and thats where my ancestors are from on my mom's side (the ukulele inventor, my g'g'gpa). Well, I thought my DH would love to go back too, but apparently he was just going to go cause I love it there so much. Then he told me I should take my DD2 (I took DD1 years ago), so I asked her, and she is on cloud nine! Even applied for a passport today. I will use miles, and might even be able to do business class for us coming home...yay! Except that we have to go from Atlanta again, so long drive for that. Plus then have to buy a separate flt from Lisbon to Madeira.It will also be nice to have such a long time to visit with her...we are very close and have similar interests, but hard to visit w/ the kids always with us. YAY! I am happy about this!!!
Ah, and....it is Pau Hana time, CST anyway! Will think of you Bernie, while enjoying my liquid refreshment...oh we tried the Tullamore Dew (sp?) and it is really good! Of course I mix mine with Diet Coke, so can't tell too much difference, but it is very smooth! Sure hope you can eat soon!!!

Looks like I bumped into ya again MemaSue! When you want to post a pic, are you sure it is an internet pic? Like one you put in photobucket, or got from google images, or other photobucket pics, etc? Sometimes they won't work if its copywritten or something. Try again, I know you can do it!

Yay MemaSue, you posted pics! Love your drinking buddy, and love the pic of you too! I knew you could do it! The island of Madeira is Portuguese, but closer to the coast of Africa. A gorgeous island with tall mountains, but rocky coastline (no beaches!). My relatives that live there go to the island of Porto to go to the beach. Madeira has the highest sea cliff in Europe, and it is awesome. I love the quaint town, the friendly people, the wonderful espada (fish) cooked with banana. The town is cobblestoned, with black and white mosaic patterns. There are drainage ditches, or streams running thru town, from the mountains to the sea, and they have wires over them, with bouganvillea covering them. When that is blooming it is awesome (think I have pics). They did have horrid flooding last year, with torrents of water flooding downtown and did a lot of damage. It is fun to ride the "wicker" sleighs, pushed by 2 men, from the mountain to town....curvy narrow roads and sometimes you are almost hit by a car! BUT its awesome. Can you tell I love it there? Well.....you asked.....LOL.

LOL MemaSue, you need a new bucket to sit on! Maybe Lisa has an extra one....she used one in her hot tub to keep her surgical areas above water. Hope you do get to St.Thomas, we liked it there. Not too wild about the Bahamas though. Want to go back to Bermuda. Now that winter is coming, I guess we need to dream about all these warm places!!!

DH just texted me that he has 25th anniversary of Rock and Roll on TV on in his office....so goiing to go watch it with him....DD is off ice skating with her youth group....need to pick her up around 9:30 or 10....enjoy some nice Autstrailian Shiraz....best not drink the whole bottle!!!!!

Good morning, Loungettes. Haven't got much time before I have to head in to work. I did wind up working today (long story, involves office politics and I'm not going to bother to try to figure it out) but it's a light day. Probably a good thing to have something to do. Mom and her BF are coming over this afternoon and spending the night so as to get a nice early start with as much sleep as possible tonight-for them anyway. The butterflies in my stomach are starting to get insistent, I keep ignoring them. I can start taking happy pills at midnight, though! I'm doing so much deep breathing that I'm creating my own wind!
Goldie-Ok, no gym in the lounge. One no vote is a total veto. As to your clock, is it one of those "atomic" clocks that connects by radio or whatever to a central place somewhere? Mine atomic clock really messed up on the time change, took me a week to get it straightened out. Your little buddy would make a great WalMart greeter in my book!
Mema-So far its unanimous, no gym in the lounge. Hope the tequila headache gets better soon! Drink lots of water-dehydration is part of the hangover experience.
Bernie-I'll be joining you in the liquid diet tomorrow. Be on liquid diet for a few days to a week. Not sure what else to tell you about the copy/paste thing. Someone more techy than I am should be along to help soon, though.

Awwww NM, I am so........well you know (can't say it) about all of your anxiety and wish I could take it all away for you. - 7/8 oz. Rum, light
- 1 oz. Triple Sec
- 7/8 oz. Vodka
- 4 splashes (Coca-Cola) Cola
- 2 splashes Sour Mix
- 1 slice Lemon
- 1 slice Lime
Fill highball glass with ice, pour all ingredients, adding Sweet and Sour and Coke last. Garnish with a lemon and a lime slice.

Hey Memasue. Just now getting on here, first time since Thursday am. Playing catch up, but had to respond to you. I'm with Kathy, tears in my eyes for you and your pain. My mother passed away from lung cancer at age 59, Jan 13th 2006. It is still very hard, but that feeling that came over you was her, I believe that. I have dreams sometimes of doing things with her, and when I wake up, I know she really was with me. I'm sure your mom will visit you as well, and it is very healing. Thank you for sharing with us, and like NM said, that's what we're here for! Gonna go get caught up now. (((hugs))) from Kentucky

NM...no my house really isn't that big....its just that his office (man cave) is outside (not really)...we built his office where the covered patio was....so need to go outside from the kitchen then into his office....so its more just being lazy....our house is just the perfect size.....not big and not small....I love my house....especially my wonderful kitchen!!!! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert was great.....I posted on fb that these guys were old and my DD#1 wanted to know what old was.....I told her it was relative....many were born 1942 - 1945....not really old, but for performers, and to still be sooooooo good...welll they are older than they were in the 70's and 80's....it means some of these guys are turning 70 this year!!! and I think it was BB King who is 85!!!!
NM...will be thinking of you tomorrow...if I remember, you are having the "blue plate special" in regards to sinus surgery, right? Wishing you an easy recovery. How long is your mom staying with you? Glad that you'll have some help....will they keep you overnight? When my DH had sinus surgery some 20 years ago, they kept him overnight.....he could barely stand up to pee, so they said, you're staying....
Took a wonderful nap yesterday afternoon as I was exhausted....2 or 3 hours....but payback was awful....I couldn't fall asleep....didn't get into bed till afater 2 am and then I was still up at 4 am....stayed in bed till 8....not sure how much I slept and how much I was awake....I guess no more Saturday afternoon naps.....
Not sure what I want to do today....definitely need to cut back on wasting time on the computer...DD#2 wants to go to the mall today....she needs to find a friend to go with....she also mentioned the other day about getting her hair cut, but she didn't say anything this morning when I asked what her plans were.....I think I have some reports for work to do....the special ed program where we write reports is shut down all this week starting tomorrow so they can get the "December 1st" count....that is special ed payday......so any reports I have to do for this week, I want to write today. Also need to get a walk in.....need to get back in the habit....and not snack all day or all night....Need to get serious about taking off these 10 - 15# I gained.....even DH notices......this is the heaviest I've been except when pregnant....I was close when Dx.....I see my onc in February and want to loose the weight (or some of it by then)....that will be 6 years since Dx.
MrsVino....your mother was so long....my condolences...I hope your memories of her bring you peace....
DorK.....you have my permission to drink whenever you want!!!! When I go to my folks, my Mom always gets a bottle of wine....but usually its because I've been there over Shabbat....I'll have to make sure we have a bottle (or 2) when I'm there next month....I'll be there 4 nights....Mom will have a glass if I do......

Goldie....my kitchen clock is on the fritz.....we had a clock in the kitchen that we probably had 15 or more years....last summmer (2010) my son had a party and a friend knocked it off the wall and broke....so DS bought a new clock....goes much better with the kitchen than the other clock did, but it is not longer keeping time.....thougth it was the battery....but no such luck...so instead of looking at the wrong time, I took the clock off the wall yesterday and it is driving me crazy to not have it there....need to go buy a clock today......or maybe I'll send DH.....its not like we don't ahve another clock in the kitchen as there is one on the stove and on the microwave, but the blank wall!!!!

NM, Funny comment to Karen about her DH texting her...we do the SAME thing! My DH and I watch different tv shows, so watch in diff rooms, and he emails me or calls me on the phone ALL THE TIME! He is a bit hard of hearing, so sometimes that is the better way to do it. Plus I am upstairs on the puter too, so when he can't find me he just calls all the phones (intercom)!!! And like everyone said, we WILL be with you tomorrow!!! We will make sure those drs take care of you perfectly, and the nurses take care of your needs before/after surgery!! (((HUGS))) for you, and nice that tonight you get to take the happy pills! Do post as soon as you can, when you get back home, ok?

Still working on our flights, hotels, etc for my trip w/ DD2....so much to coordinate. Started at 7am yesterday and that was most of what I did till midnight, then again all morning today. ALMOST done, but I sent her a lot of info too and had to wait for her input. Sooooo glad we will have the business class flts on the way home....total comfort!!!
Rainy day here, but already called my mom to get her going on finishing her painting. She wants to, then forgets. Then I'll visit with them later on today. So sad that they go back to HI on Saturday. When they are here, since they have their own home, it is like they will always be here! So I have been in withdrawal for a few days, and it has been getting me down. I'll be ok though, lots to keep bizzy with!!! Now for some more of the chocolate dwinkies......

So I looked around my house to find things I'd started & hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminun scriptins, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum Have a massive sinus headache....now thats after 800mg "musinex", nasacort and 4 ibuprofen....suggestions of what to take? Pressure around the nose...teeth hurt!!! but no post nasal drip and no stuffy nose!!!!0 -

Hi girls,hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was very uneventful and believe it or not that is a good thing. Everyone got along,no one's hair caught fire,no one had to cut the turkey in pieces and throw it in the micro,and no one had to eat Tofurkey because the bird wasn't cooked after 100 hours in the oven. That IS a success. Most of the day was spent w/LB (lil bro) on the comp looking at the black friday deals. I did not get out this year for anything,just wasn't anything interesting. Glad it is all over and now I can relax w/my drink. Speaking of drinks i'm very bummed today. Just found out my MIL cannot send my cherry liqueur because customs won't allow it to be sent to the states. Oh well,maybe she'll figure out a way around that. Until then i'll toast you with the croation version of it,which is pretty good. CHEERS!

Shannon....I'll be in Canada next month....I can try to get it if its at the duty free shop then mail it to you from CO.....I'm only planning on carry on luggage so duty free would have to be the way to go....

Juliet-I made it through the walmart thing just fine. I realized walmart sold alcohol so I popped open a couple of bottles of wine until dh was done;) ******NM- I like my power tools but I didn't go to walmart to look at them for 40 minutes. I went there for something else and then dh went crazy. Good luck with everything tomorrow. ******GOLDIE - I didn't post any pics of my boots, dh lost our camera chargers. But if you saw these boots you would understand why they won't be comfortable. But the important thing is I love them and dh likes them;) And don't be afraid of that "F" video, go watch it. *****KAREN- Thank you for the offer but my MIL makes this alcohol,it's not sold in stores. Maybe she can explain to customs it's okay,either that or bribe them. But if you're ever close to Romania i'll give you her address. I really miss that drink especially since I can't have it
