just a little tip on the glutimine powder. I usually just gulped mine down in a small glass of juice, but if the grittyness got to me, I found that I didn't notice it as much if I mixed it with something thicker. The easiest thing to hide the texture was peanut butter. By I also ate it in applesauce, pudding, cottage cheese or jam.
I also found that there were different "grades" of thepowder. The kind I had the pharmacist order for me that is used in compunding was much finer ground and didn't have an aftertaste. The kind I got at the healthfood store was had more taste and grit.
Just FYI

Good Morning Everyone: Hoping to bring you all some sunshine today. Tough, tough week-end here for Chicago sports fans. Our CUBS lost in a sweep. So make that 99 years without a world series. And then our pathetic Bears are playing GreenBay today. A must win situation. With all our quarterback issues and injured defense - I think it gonna be a hard game to watch. Hoping so far you are having a grand week-end. I have been enjoying myself, just seems that the week-end goes by just too darn fast.
Vickie: Im looking for you sunshine sister. I know you have been sick with pneumonia and not feeling well, but things just dont seem right unless I get a sunshine post from you. A trip to Florida is just what you need.
Neese: Isnt it amazing! Sometimes I think a good cry is healthy. Its a cleansing cry. Slept till 9:30 am, wow - that was 5 hours after I woke up - Imagine that.
Boo: Your a vet? I didnt know that. Now my chemo brain is all confused. Is it your daughter or some elses going to become a vet? Anyways, its good to see you post, I have missed hearing from you.
Gina: Poor baby kitty. Thats gonna be one expensive cat bath.
Tina: Its so good to hear from you. Its been along time. Your trip sounds wonderful. Something huge, something big to look forward too. Working full time definitely cuts down on time anyone can spend on a computer. Me - I am a crazy woman and get up earlier so I can post here. I live like the farmers now.
CY: I hear mold is hard to get rid of. I cant imagine you, still recovering from your most recent surgrey and getting chemo putting borax anywhere. I hope its a nice sunny day and you get to go for that ride. My dad used to take us for Sunday rides all the time.
Charlene: I hope you had fun at your sisters last night. The hampster story is sad. Hope the foot cramps go away soon.
WEll, hoping everyone has a wonderful day. Its gonna be another great day here in Chicago. Right now more like summer than fall. We hit 88 degrees yesterday with high humidty. Today its gonna be the same. So if I am gonna do any walking I better do it early.
See ya all later.

Have a little time before leaving with the grandkids - going to take them to see the Blue Angels today. The 60's party for my friend's 40th birthday was a lot of fun - had one glass of wine too many though. It was a lot of fun remembering what was big in the 60's and most of us were in costume. Just had breakfast but I think I need more food and aspirin. Hope the Blue Angeles don't bring the headache back!
Tina, glad you dropped in. The vacation sounds wonderful. I know you will have a great time.
B445, we spent some time in your area a few years ago and the weather was awesome. I would have no problem moving there if the weather wasw like that all the time.
Sue, the chocolate tart sounds yummy.
Charlene, that's too bad that Audrey had to see the results of the hamsters.
Nicki, weather here in the SF Bay Area is great today but rain is coming this week. It's been cold in the mornings too. And we get to see the 49er's probably lose again today.
Everyone have a good day.
Margaret

Good afternoon ladies. OMG, I just lost my post!! It was all my own fault, too. I hate it when I can't blame it on someone else. It wasn't anything important anyway. I just go see my new onc tomorrow about this lump. No, I am not worried. It's scar tissue. Maybe a little apprehensive but it's cos I have a brand new onc. thank goodness I never did like the old one.
Just wanted to check in with everyone here. Wishing you all a very nice afternoon.

G'day All
Just want everyone to know I have not deserted the mother ship, but I have pretty much spent the last couple of days in bed with a bad dose of the Flu.
Have not read back at all, but I hope if I am feeling better later today too do so.
Take care and have a wonderful evening

Nicki, it's Madison's DD that is becoming a vet.
Charlene, ( I have the urge to call you Charlie like I do my lil sister), were both the hamsters female? if so one my be pregnat. They get teratorial when pregnat.
Sorry you DD had to see that, but as you said a lesson in nature.
Deb, thanks for the info. I tried it in yourgurt and that didn't work for me. I have tried it in juice but always felt like I was drinking sand since I have to do 2 teaspoons at a time.
It's raining again today so we decided to go see a movie and have lunch instead. We went to see The Seeker. It's not for young kids, but older ones might enjoy it, not as fun as Harry Potter but has aspects similar to it.
Madison, Didn't you have problems before with the ringing ear thing? I just hate that I get it all the time now a days.
Had a rough night felt like my incesions were opening up on me but they didn't. I think the glue they used to keep them shut is wearing off and some of the nerve endings may be reconnecting. had to take more pain meds. Poor Scott was trying to comfort me but couldn't. He hasn't slept much lately and here I was keeping him awake again. Bless his heart for taking me to a movie he really wasn't interested in.
going to go read
hugs & Prayers

Gina you sound like me and missing Rx bottles! I have them all over the place but when I want a particular one I can't find it. I did that with my antibiotic this week drove me batty as I lost it three times!
Neese, Hotel Circle has some nice hotels and some expensive hotels. Sea World is just a few miles northwest of the circle and Balboa Park and the Zoo are just south of it. So is Old Town and the Mission. if you have time to walk around there it's really nice. Mission Beach is just down the road from Sea World and I highly recommend a nice stroll down the boardwalk there too. Actually this is making me homesick! Those were favorite places me me to go as a kid.
Ok off to crochet!

Good evening all,
Well its a chilly one on this end of the circle. It was really warm and hazy all day and suddenly got dark, cloudy, windy and cold. The clouds disappeared and the wind stopped but it stayed chilly. Throwing an extra log on the fire and piling on some extra blankets. Time to bring out the down comforters and quilts.
Tracey...I am so sorry...I hate this disease worse than anything...sending you a hug and many prayers for Raven and her family. Just to sad.
Gina...I can so relate to losing things but thankfully nothing with that kind of value. So glad you found them...I do have these little gremlins that sneak around my house at night moving things to new places and making messes that I have to clean up. I love that song and my oncologist sang it too me one day!!! Still say I'd marry that man if he'd just ask...geez.
Liz... Love ya giggle sister.
Madison...are you going to get the ringing in your ears checked out. Love ya too giggle sister..
Denise...good night to you...sweet dreams
Jankay...talk to you tomorrow. Hope you are having a better night. Hugs to you.
we interupt this evening commentary with a question...
I don't like coffee...at all...in any way shape or form...but...I keep hearing all the wonderful things about Starbucks...do they have hot chocolate. I don't dare go in and try to order one! The coffee drinkers may unite and hang me from the nearest tree or something...
Back to our regularly scheduled program...
Shokk...where are you? I miss your posts on the weekends.
Amy...hope all is well with you...I miss your posts too.
Cheri is gonna need a magic carpet ride tomorrow. Shall we let her drive with her cam boot on? Gotta grab Mazer for the trip. Saying prayers for scar tissue.
Angel...where are you? Hope you are feeling ok...are the bowling balls softening up and helping with some of the pain? Wondering of the other hamster is pregant...heehee...oh my...dd will learn even more of lifes lessons.
Marsha...we will be coming to Summerfield when we are in Florida if you can't make it to Cocoa Beach. Just let us know and we'll meet up with you closer to home or whatever you wish. I'm hoping you can come relax on the beach with us for a couple of days at least.
Odalys...looking forward to seeing you to give you a hug in person.
Elaine...can't wait to see you again too...oh what fun this is going to be. My dd is so excited. Good luck on getting your port out tomorrow. I was thrilled to be rid of mine. We'll put you on the magic carpet with Cheri.
Sue...hello and how are you? I am ready to head off to crochet here too.
CY...hope you are well...hugs and sweet dreams.
Getting late and getting tired...off to bed with me.
Peter...have a good day.
Sending love and hugs to you all...

Good Morning Sweet Sisters: Just quickly dropping by to send some sunshine your way. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Its still hot and humid in my end of the circle, but I hear storms are on the way and it will soon cool off. To be honest, I actually looking forward to the cooler weather. These last few days have been getting to me. The humidty has been so high, that I have not had a whole lot of energy to do much of anything.
I tossed and turned all night so didnt sleep very good. Kept having nightmares. I hate nightmares. Seems like my Italian mom taught me they all have some sorta meaning to them.
MargaretB: I would have enjoyed a 60's party. For me, those were the good ol days. I watched the 49r's game. They put up a good fight. Their day will come again and then everyone will be afraid to play against them. I was up very late last night cause of the Bears game. It was a cardiac game throughout - but we won! Whew!
Cheri: Good luck at the oncs office today. I will be standing in the background with my Italian hand on my hip. Making sure that new onc is good to you.
Elaine: Good luck with the port removal. When I had mine out it was a big deal. Had to be put to sleep and everything. So that part scared me, but what a relief when I woke up and it was gone. It was an emotional time for me. Signified the end to one thing and the beginning of another.
SoCal: How about them chargers? They needed that game. They looked really good yesterday. I like your idea about looking for the cutest team for the world series. Im gonna have to take a better look at the players.
CY: I still cant believe you are going to work today. I always thought the port incision was painful - really surprised me.
Odalys: Nice picture. Hope you have a great day.
Tracy: Its so good to see you post. You know I love ya gal. This whole thing with Raven is very upsetting. An emotional time for many of us who got to know her so well on the chat. Yes this bc is unpredictable!
Well my time is up - hoping you all have a wonderful day.
Nicki

Morning all, just a quick check to say hi.
Elaine, good luck with the port removal. I was glad when mine was gone.
Lisa and Colleen, Blue Angels were cool. It wasn't a whole airshow but rather it was their warmup on their way to San Francisco and fleet week. They took off from San Francisco Airort. Grandkids had a great day.
Cheryl, what movie did you and Scott see?
Tracey, glad to see you posting. I'm sorry to hear the news about Raven.
Vickie, did you get your Starbucks this morning?
Nickie, one of my girlfriends actually ordered a 60's dress online, had white go-go boots and fishnet stockings, everyone had peace necklaces and earrings, flowers in their hair, etc. The party was fun.
Time to go; have a good day.
Margaret

Good morning to everyone, hope you all have a great day.
Nicki, I hope you're not too tired from your poor nights sleep. Nightmares are no fun.

Good Morning friends. Gonna go read a bit and catch up.

Good morning Circle,
I hope that you all have a good day today. I think I missed that magic carpet ride but with Cheri and Elaine in spirit and prayer. Waiting for news of scar tissue.
Vickie! So glad you are feeling a bit better, but remember it takes a while to get over so don't push yourself! Hugs to you today sister.
Madison... hope the ears ringing either stops or at least plays something you don't mind listening to. That is a horrible thing to have to deal with. Do you have dizziness as well? Praying for you.
Nicki.. when I finally turned the tv over to the Bears game last night, the score was 20 - 20 I think in the fourth quarter. My eyes didn't stay open long enough to watch it.
Angel/Charlene.. I so admire your strength. You feel like crap but continue to be such a caring mother and a strong sense of support to all of us. Sending prayers your way and hoping Audrey and Ava have a really good week.
Thinking also of Ravencaine. It so saddens me when I hear of these things. It makes no sense. Never has, never will. Of course none of us are promised more than just today. Prayers to Tracy as well as Raven and her family.
Peter, dear Brother, I do hope you are feeling better when you awaken. You must take better care of yourself! Are there signs of spring there yet?
From A to Z, my best to you.. Pam

Hello Circle!
I just wanted to make another push for our fund-raising efforts. I wanted to make clear how much we would appreciate your donations to the site, and that you do not need to be part of the Virtual Tea Party if you would rather. We were just trying to put a fun twist to it.
But, your support, both financial and by being here, is incredibly valued by us. We couldn't be here without your help.
Thank you so much!
Melissa and Tami0 -
Not much posting going on here today. Hmm, I'm wondering why?
no post in the last 4 hours and that was from the mods. I guess they have been busy today.
New pups are going to vet today. Had to postpone the other day when the vet had an emergency. Hopefully all will go well. By the way, they have names. Buck and Bonzai. I know I know but it just happened.
Gina-sorry the xeloda isnt treating you kindly. Been there, done that. Wish I could tell you how to make it go away though.
Charlene-sorry to hear about the hamster death.
So sorry to hear about Raven also. Its just not right.
Sedgysmom is also not doing well according to the mets board. They arent giving her long at all from what I can read.
just way too much saddness going on for sure.

CherylG - I've lost my mind too ... so if you see it, please send it back.
I picked Tim up this morning from where he left his truck in Martinsville (after being gone for 2 weeks) and we stopped at the store on the way home. As he always does, he unlocked the truck door for me and held the door open so I could jump in. I always push the little unlock door botton on the side so he can just go around and jump in. I always put my groceries on the front seat and then push the very same button to unlock the other side and then go around and get in. Well .. for the last two weeks, I've been pushing and pushing that stupid unlock button and nothing was unlocking. I thought I had broken it. This freaked me out because now I was afraid I'd throw my purse and keys in the truck with groceries, walk around to get in and find I'd locked myself out. Well, today as I'm pushing and pushing on the unlock button, Tim looks at me with a little grin and says, "Baby, that's the window button." He just grinned, gave me a little wink and went around and climbed in.
I didn't have chemo and I didn't have radiation to my brain, so I don't have an excuse!
Charlene - I drink coffee 24/7. It doesn't stop me from napping, going back to bed or getting to sleep at night. Tired is just plain tired. Sometimes at night I'll crave just half a cup. I guess I'm a caffeine, nicotine and chocaholic. Since I gave up booze, I don't feel too bad about these addictions.
Cheri and Brenda (NC) - Hope all went well today at the doctors.
Madison - Hope the ringing in your ears is letting up. It's a horrible thing to have all the time.
Nicki - I stayed up til midnight to watch the game. I can't believe your Bears pulled that one off!
Amy - You've named the puppies! Way to go! Glad they've found a new mom. The news of all those suffering recently on the boards has hit me quite hard as well. I've been crying a lot lately. I don't know how to keep my emotions detached. It's just impossible.
Vickie - Hope your daughter is feeling better. I finished my new grandbaby's blanket and I'm getting started on the 7x9 squares. I also picked up a bunch of black yarn for you.
Gina - Poor Fluffy. He must've really been fluffy to need a haircut! Maybe he lost some weight after his haircut. Are you okay after this whole cat hair salon trip?
Deb -
Denise - I could really use a petsitter, but .... I like mine to be alive when I get home.
Jankay - my color of the day is PURPLE for purple haze. (I love Jimi BTW)
Margaret - If Mr. Tim ever hits the lotto I'm going to make sure you don't have to work anymore. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with your family!
Robin - I've been thinking about you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.Peter - Hope you're feeling better and getting lots of rest.

MADISON>I've had ringing ears since going on Tamoxifin. I'm already hard of hearing so the ringing is really making what I have left even worse these days. DH has to repeat everything he says because he knows I won't get it the first time, this since going on Tamoxifin.
