Ha ha Doxie. Fake nipple looks so good…but I have to admit that mine came out better than my booby prizes. So glad you got the all clear on both fronts.

    lago and Jackie,

It is a relief that everything was clear. And the CT showed no problems in the rest of my abdomen or chest, except for expected scarring in lung from radiation. X-rays cleared back for mets or other problems. Only normal disk shrinkage for my age. Hoping the pain stays away now or I'll have to have an MRI down the road.

Let me not be tied down to property or praise and I shall be free.  Free from the nagging ache of envy.  Free from the hurts of resentment.  Free to love all and forgive all.  Free to do and say what is right, regardless of the unpopularity.  Free to wander everywhere as inspiration guides me.

Great news Doxie! Hip Hip Hooray!

Momto7...I love craft shows. What do you make? I am always so amazed at all the great and creative ideas! I truly appreciate that craft expertise of others as I have very little natural talent in that area.

Burr....it's been cold this week. I need that sunshine!!!! Everyone stay warm!

    Choose Inner Peace.
Nothing is worth losing your inner peace.
    Take action as circumstances require,
but never surrender your inner peace.
    Stop. Breathe deeply.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply again.

Just popping in to say HI!  Stay warm all!  Happy Thanksgiving a little early to all of you wonderful ladies!

I am keeping busy as usual.  Doctor's appointments are a bit less these days.....still meeting with the endocrinologist every 3 months for bone density issues.  The good news is levels are improving.  I have another dexascan in March so hopefully if it goes well I can stop taking bone building meds.  It would be nice to have one less medication!  It is super expensive too....so I could save some $$$$.

Lately I have really been struggling with foot pain from tamoxifen.  It was my hands for a long time and they still bother me from time to time, but lately my feet have been awful.  I feel 80 years old when I get out of bed.  My doc's say it is not tamoxifen but when I read online, many people have this symptom.  As usual, they pass the buck....they tell me to see a rheumatologist or something.  Whatever...........I don't want another doctor!  Anyone else have aches and pains with tamoxifen???  I know I am not crazy!

mdg - Wow... finally someone else who has the same foot pain. You are not crazy!!!! My fingers and feet hurt terribly! When I told my MO - he told me that is my body telling me I'm getting old especially after hysto!!! Rude - lol! You have been on it longer than I have which worries me a little but glad to hear it isn't just me either!!!

mjs - I notice that when I take my vitamins and supplements regularly the pain is a little less but it is still there.  I am frustrated because I actually had to leave my yoga workout the other day because my hands hurt too bad.  I am still in my 40's!  I should NOT feel this way.  If I had to guess which vitamins/supplements help -maybe omega 3's and turmeric because they have anti-inflammatory properties.  I am going to talk to my internist about this.  I do NOT have arthritis!  Why do doctors dismiss our symptoms?  No one wants to deal with what we deal with...they all pass the buck.  So frustrating!!!  I may also see a naturopath doctor. It can't hurt and I really don't want to be on another medication.  I am sorry you have this too but glad I am really NOT crazy:)

mdg.....The same aches occur with Arimidex, Femara, and other similar drugs. Although these drugs are our security blankets, our quality of life while taking them is compromisd. There are some who are not affected in any way by the drugs, but I really think there are more of us who have some type of side effects. I took the Arimidex for 5 years. There were times when my feet and hands hurt so badly that I could barely move. I have been off the drug now for almost 2 years and I no longer have the feet and hand pain. It took about 6 months for me to notice a difference once I got off the med. That tells me something!!! I don't know why the doctors are so hesitant to tell us that "yes, these aches and pains are probably side effects of the Tamoxifin or other similar drugs." Maybe they are afraid that we'll stop taking the drug. Hugs to you! You are right. You are too young to have this pain. I did find some help when taking the drug if I supplemented it with Vitamin D3, magnesium, and calcium.

mdg you are not crazy. From what I've been reading Tamoxifen has worse issues with stiffness than the ESDs (I call the AIs Estrogen Sucking Drugs. Tamoxifen is EBD, Estrogen Blocking Drug). I had such pain on Anastrozole (generic Arimidex) I switched to Exemestane (Aromasin) and it's 99% improved! Also lost the 10lbs I gained too without trying.

What are you taking for osteoporosis? My rheumatologist started me with Fosamax but I got bad reflux with that. I won't do Reclast because they won't do the infusion in my foot. I had my first shot of Prolia last month. No issues with that but like you say $$. I have to do it 2X a year too.

BTW I really like my rheumatologist. She is at Rush/chgo though.

Iago-thank you for your information. I'm now on Pepcid (like I need another drug) for terrible heart burn. I've been on a generic for Fosamax for almost 2 years. I told my doc about the heart burn and he put me on Pepcid which has helped but lately at night I wake up with terrible heartburn. I've gained almost 13% of bone growth since I've been on Fosamax and I don't have osteoporosis any more.....but this heart burn isn't fun. So, I think I'll give him a call and ask about something else.

About foot pain....I have that now too since I've been on Anastrozole. I went to a specialist and she had an X-ray done. I have a bone spur that doesn't have a good prognosis. Whatever she suggests, she said "and it would probably come back." Anyway, I think the drug has not helped it.

I guess its just something we have to deal with. My MO said he doesnt want to switch me off tamoxifen because the side effects are worseas Lago said :( sigh..

I am on atelvia for my bones and had a 5% increase in bone density after a year. My endo put me on this because I have bad stomach issues and can't even take aspirin for anything. I have not had any stomach issues on atelvia at all. I do supplement with vitamin D, calcium and magnesium. My doc's seem to associate this pain more with AI's than tamoxifen. I am suppose to be on an AI because I had my ovaries out but my doc's won't switch me because of my bone density issues. Oh the BC fun never ends!

HI Ladies! I hope you are all well! I miss reading everyone's post. It's my busy season at work (Medicare annual election), so I have been working non-stop. My first grand baby, George, was born three weeks ago! I am so excited. I have been up to Chicago twice in the past three weeks and am going back up for Thanksgiving (LAGO: We will get together soon--I promise!). Jackie, I love reading your daily posts! Sending love to you all and best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving! XOXO

Every decision that you make either moves you toward your personality, or toward your soul.  Each decision you make is an answer to the question, "How do you choose to learn love?", "How do you choose to learn authentic empowerment-- through doubt and fear, or through wisdom?"

Karen -- always wonderful to see you and I am not surprised that you came to chat a bit since I had been thinking of you quite a bit the past three or four days and wondering how you were.  What a wonderful three weeks you have had and what a truly special event to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.  I'm sure the Christmas holidays will have lots of special moments as well.  Congratulations on one of the best milestones Mothers with Daughters get to share in life.

Also wanted to say Gary Zukav is famous for his "Soul" books.  The first one I ever read I think ( too long ago now ) was " Seat of The Soul ".  I found much to agree with in his writings though I have not read any of his work for quite some time.

We have some warmth back here with will mean rain showers off and on today -- probably with little way to tell so you will have to have rain gear handy every time you leave the house.

I hope you all have a wonderful week-end.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

An oldie, but goodie.  Always have loved this one since it rings so true for me.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we
have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into
acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home,
a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes
sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Meet Esmerelda-- ( renamed her-her shelter name was Jade) I adopted her two weeks ago from Cat Tails Feline Rescue.  She is a 1 year old Lynx color point Siamese.  She and I are getting along really well.  She is timid, but had been in the Shelter for 3 months-primarily because the vet wanted her to go to a quiet home where she could be the only kitty.......I'm pretty solitary, so we are perfectly matched.

Redheaded -- you have a beautiful friend.  She looks delightful and I'm sure in time she will be much more so.  It is early.  Most cats need time to explore and acquaint themselves with all the nooks and crannies and BEST hiding places as well as the coziest places for one of their famous cat naps.  I just bet she and you form a perfect union.  A thousand or more blessings for taking a rescue.

    Blessings

Acceptance is not a talent you either have or don’t have.  It’s a learned response.  My meditation teacher made a great point about the difference between a reaction and a response:  You may not have control over your initial
reaction to something, but you can decide what your response will be.  You don’t have to be at the mercy of your
emotions, and acceptance can be your first step toward empowerment . . . For me, acceptance has been the cornerstone to my having an emotionally healthy response to my illness.    Morrie Schwartz

Oh redheaded....Your cat is so CUTE! I'm so glad you adopted her as it sounds like you two will be a perfect match. It's just amazing how much company, companionship and unconditional love our furry friends give us!

Have you ever watched small children playing alone in a room?  They will talk to themselves, and they will answer.  They will dress themselves up.  They sing and dance.  A small child in a room all alone can have a marvelous time entertaining him or herself.  Children can do this not only because they have an innocence that helps them to rise above the cares of the world; they don’t mind being alone with their thoughts and dreams.  They don’t mind acting out their fantasies.  They can live their lives beyond the expectations of others.  In a room all alone, children have no inhibitions.  They have nothing to prove and no one to satisfy but themselves.  They feel free!  They are unencumbered by opinions and directives.  It happens because nobody is watching them.
Live your life like nobody is watching you.
