Lago-I already take Effexor to control my vestibular migraines...Not sure what other meds besides the anti-depressants we could try. I also see my pcp tomorrow so I will run it by him as well. Oncologist wasn't super concerned since I had chemo. If I hadn't done that, he would have been much more reluctant to me stopping. We will see how this all plays out after the first of the year!

Mimi when I told my MO I wanted to stop after 3 years on Anastrozole she went on to tell me that I was high risk for recurrance. I too had 6 rounds of chemo. I don't know your details but I might get a 2nd opinion just to be sure before stopping.

Lago-thanks for your concern. I will revisit this in February when I see my onc again. In the meantime, I saw my ortho yesterday as a follow up to my hip replacement and still having groin pain, apparently the cup portion of the implant has shifted so now I am using a walker again limiting the weight bearing on that leg and my need more surgery to fix it! I just can't seem to catch a break here...now I am worn out just getting into work this morning.

Thanks ladies! I know that in the grand scheme of things, there are women here who are much worse off then I am. I am cancer free at the time, which is wonderful and I am very grateful for the advances in treatments that are available to us these days. But I just get so frustrated, 18 months ago, I felt pretty healthy aside from arthritis, I felt well, now I just don't feel well at all and that makes me angry.
On another note, I am now using a wheelchair to get to work, when I saw the ortho the other day, when checking my hip x-ray he discovered that the cup portion of the implant has shifted-apparently the integrity of my bone was worse than he thought and I have a small fracture, so non-weight bearing for up to 12 weeks-yikes to try to prevent another surgery to fix the cup permanently. Let me tell you this old, fat body isn't made for non-weight bearing! I hop around the best I can with my walker around the house and my dear friend lent me her wheelchair to get into work since it is a long walk. Hopefully I can keep enough weight off it so it can heal, but the pain is gone since I'm not using it. Always something as Roseanne, Roseanna Danna used to say

It is "grand" that you are cancer free but you are wholly entitled to feel just a bit cheated ( many of us I think did ) that you started your 'cancer' journey quite well and not don't feel that way at all. The continuation of problems -- while you search for the new normal -- is so understandable and is making some REAL hardships as you try to heal. I always think before we can start a 'strong' recovery we have to HONOR our own TRUTHS -- ONCE again without reading here first I chose a quote and it seems to fit.

Mimi--I know it "it is always something----darn I miss Gilda Radner! Extra prayers coming from me for your healing. I can't imagine what you are going thru, but thankfully the cancer is gone even tho sometimes its hard to think like a survivor. Bet you have a great ortho and it will be fixed just on a longer schedule than we like.....

Light rain falling here. It is cool, but far from cold -- just mainly damp. Tomorrow, no rain, but windy- The snow showers come Wednesday --- aaarrrgggg. Well, I'm happy we don't have two feet of snow on the ground to contend with. I have to decide what 'dishes' to make and take over to my BIL's for a Christmas Eve get together. It should be ok though I'm the only female left ( of the family here ) as my two SIL's have passed on. I should be doing the whole meal but opted out since often my work schedule could be over full time this time of yr. if my employers are gone. Just so happens this yr. they won't be -- but until I no longer work.....I have to assume I'll be tied up.
Hope you are all looking forward ( weather cooperation would be such a blessing ) to a wonderful Christmas Day in whatever part of Illinois you reside.

Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. I am fighting a head cold that has me sniffling and coughing and feeling exhausted. Had my 1st mammo since the BC diagnosis and see the surgeon tomorrow. Got a form letter saying that the mammo was normal, but I want to see what the radiologist wrote... He did do an ultrasound of the armpit on the other side since I felt a knot in there, but the tech said they didn't find anything in it.....
No big tree this year because I don't quite trust Esmerelda the new kitty. Small table top one and nativity on the other end. Came home one night and found my disposable razor by the front door., meaning she had been inside the tub to get to it.... She's pretty darn active most days I guess. She has finally quit waking me up at 3AM to lay on my face and purr....but she still pounces on my feet if I move them around when she is in bed with me....
Hope the next few days are filled with whatever you each treasure the most in your hearts. Know that I treasure each of you in mine.

Happy variety of holidays to the Illinois gals! I actually see peeks of sun this morning! What a difference it makes. I work 12 hour shifts tomorrow and Christmas and am hoping the snow doesnt get too bad for the drive back and forth!
We have 4 kitties and one especially is the devil. Anything small and moveable I have to make sure is secure or otherwise its gone! He likes to smack the door protectors that go on the wall by the floor, to make the boiiiing noise!

Are you using Biotene mouth wash? I had TC and had no problems with my mouth.
I was on my 3rd round during the Christmas holiday. I managed to cook Xmas dinner for my daughter and her boyfriend. Wasn't very complicated and I didn't have to clean the house. That was the best.
