home, wrist is not painful-lousy hospital experience, sick as dog day of release and they sent me home anyway. back to ER that night with fever. spent rest of night changing my sheets pjs, but im not taking the pain meds unless it gets tons worse

Redhead-Glad you are home, much easier to get rest there. Can't imagine BP on leg, but I have heard of lots doing it. Hospitals are scary places to be anymore it seems, so hope you get to feeling better soon. Don't let that pain get away from you...much easier to manage than chase! Thanks, I have mammos/U/S this afternoon and CT scan tomorrow...

Well I had my mammo & U/S yesterday...radiologist saw something he didn't like on the u/s so waiting to hear from surgeon about a biopsy...I swear it is always something! Then went for the CT scan this morning, had to drink 2 bottles of this nasty "berry smoothie" crap...ewww, managed to keep it done at least. Then they wanted an IV for contrast also, well my veins do not cooperate-ruined by chemo so it took 4 painful sticks, but finally got it done-whew! Really wish they had given me a port when I had chemo, but my onc was hesitant because of the upkeep, etc...easy for him to say when he isn't the one getting stuck a million times! So now the waiting for results....see the MO next week and will wait for a call from the surgeon.

I'm planning on trying out cold caps for my chemo, but I need a wig just in case. Can anyone of you Ladies recommend a good place with wigs around Elgin, where you had a good experience?

I got a free one but never used it. It was quite lovely and like my real hair and cut. It was actually quite liberating for me to go au naturale, and since I started out that way, a wig just seemed strange after being with everyone and going everywhere without.
I did do my research on PCC and read the threads, and though I chose not to do them - I understand why some do.
I'm certain some gals will pipe in with some good resources for wigs.

I think mdg had hers done by him at Northwestern. I was thinking of going to him to touch up what my PS did, but my RO wants me to have it done in a medical facility, not the tattoo parlor where he also works, because of the radiated breast. I haven't gotten around to find out the cost and whether or not ins will cover it.

Girlstrong - I had my tattoos done there. I am very happy with them. Jeff was so nice and very professional. Gave me a lifetime guarantee if they ever need touching up - he will do it free. Very worth the $300 I paid! Go for it!BB -can't help with wigs, but I did cold caps and so did Hope49. We are both in the west suburbs. If you need support - pm one of us! Happy to help. BB go to american cancer society in geneva ? Randall to 38 on right side . They will fit you and give you one for free . They are really nice and helpful . I live elgin/south elgin boarder where are you?

BB I had hair down to my waist thats now gone . I cant wear the wigs it really bothers me emtionally . I was on red devil chemo first now taxol you may not lose your hair on taxol. I lost eyeleashes and brows on taxol. Also if you plan on donating your hair get it cut first as I did they dont want chemo in it for donation. You can private message me if you need to talk .

DSW, did you need an appointment for the place in Geneva? I called American Cancer Society on Friday and they told me they had a location at Sherman (I'm close to 20), and that somebody would call me from there to get an appointment. I wanted a back up plan in case I don't like any of the free ones. If my insurance will cover a wig, I was hoping to find a good place where I could purchase a nice one

BBwithBC45 be persistent with The American Cancer Society. They cut staff last year and use lots of volunteers. They can get over whelmed.

no driving--said it was a horrible idea. ignored my question of how long before I can.......put me in a hard black brace with fingers sticking out and said no bending, lifting, pushing or pulling. Go back in a week to get stitches (10) out. tech is not sure now if he will cast me after all. he didn't mention the texas sling again and did say when he got in there there was alot of "scoping" to get pieces of bone where they belonged.. spent very little time with me. dreading the stitch removal. his techs are all cute young kids......0 -
Redheaded 1-well that stinks that you can't drive...really putting a crimp in your style huh? Better listen though-you wouldn't want to mess things up in there before they are all healed.Saw the onc for results of pelvic scan-lesions still the same, no change, no more of them, still don't know what they are. Labs are still good. He offered the bone biopsy again, that doesn't sound like much fun to me so we are going to check labs again in 6 weeks. No suggestions for pain...or what is causing, since we don't think it is mets he wasn't too interested..very specialized. Guess I will have to visit pcp to get some answers and relief.
Core biopsy yesterday went okay, will find out from that next week when I see surgeon again.

No Redhead-the lesions are on the pelvic bones...don't have any other parts left down there to get fibroids anymore LOL.
Sure hope your wrist heals quickly for you and the rehab isn't too bad once that starts. Things sure aren't as easy as they were when we were younger...
