Blackjack    Have a great time in Boston.

Leesa  Hooray for you! I'm so happy for your clean nodes, and that you are feeling so much better.

Rita    I know how hard it is too find narrow shoes, so Target is a great find!

    Calypso    Love the t-shirt!

Jackie   Susan is right about that fungus being stubborn sometimes. If the mouthwash doesn't do the trick call the nurse again. I had it on the skin of my operated breast during chemo, and I did have to get a refill of the systemic antifungal med. I also had a topical ointment. Chemo just does a job on our immune systems!

Laura   Good luck at the dovtor's office today. I hope he has some answers for you, and takes care of that pain. Nothing is fun when your feet hurt.

Susan   What a time you had! That is a wedding you won't soon forget. I believe you were sent to help that young man, and he was so lucky you were there. He could have had a head injury, or an internal injury, or sometimes the jagged ends of broken bones damage blood vessels and cause serious, even life threatening bleeding. Thank God you were there for him, and how nice of you to keep in touch. One wonders if he slipped, or was he a bit tipsy, or did he have a dizzy spell, or just what caused him to lose his balance? Sorry, it's the nurse in me that wants to do a work up on him, and get some answers.

Have to get busy now. Doing taxes last weekend, and now DH wants to go over our wills and update them. I am working on decluttering my house, and that might take a couple of months at this rate. Closets are overflowing, and I was dressed well in the eighties apparently, and all that stuff is still here! Football shoulder pads anyone?

Have a great day, and I'll see you later.

Hey everyone, just popped in to say hello. Starting off the week in good spirits.  Getting a lot accomplished on making a new start.  Some one asked me what was my passion.  My passion is working with youth in the community.  Being involved in making the world a better place.  In 2005 I started a teen group for girls called Y-Teens Making a Statement.  I had about 16 girls from ages 11-16yrs old.  I worked at the local hospital at the time so I got them involved with volunteering there around the holidays, Community health fairs, I bought in guest speakers to speak to the girls about different issues, we had big celebrations we were very active.  I did it all from my home at first.  Then I talked to the local housing authority and they let me use one of there community buildings at no charge.  But then there fundings started going south and they wanted to start charging me for the building so I moved it back to my home.  But DH was getting sort of fed up with the house full of girls all the time so I started slacking off on the meetings.  Also it was getting to big for me to handle myself so in between me looking for help an bc I haven't been able to get back on track yet.  But I know now is the time.  There is nothing positive in this town for these young girls to get involved in besides boys, boys, boys.  My daughter comes home from school telling me someone else is pregnant every week almost.  I was mother hen and mentor to 16 girls.  And I miss all of them.  My big struggle with getting it back going is that I am still confused, lost, struggling with my own issues to start back speaking to these girls about theres.  I have no formal education dealing with youth just the fact of being a mother of a teenage girl and seeing some of the issues that she deals with and that I dealt with as a teen.  And usisng the gifts God has givin me.  Is all I work with.  I just happened to open mail today from the Boys and Girls club and someone is starting a group for girls because they to see a need in this community.  So I will be right there.  I am looking forward to getting involved and volunteering my time and expertise...lol

Laura hope your feet are feeling better.

Susan you are a guardian angel.  God has a purpose and plan for all that he does.  You were supposed to be there at that time and hour. Look forward for you blessing to come.

Leesa great to hear all is well.  Keep on keepin on.

Calypso love the shirt too.  Where can I get one?

Rita hope you picked up a little somethin, somethin for me...lol

Well all gotta go check out my son at track practice then off to take him to baseball practice.  Busy, busy, busy,

Oh tomorrow I go for my scans and testings.  please keep me in your prayers that I get a good report.

Love you all, have a great night, and enjoy the sunshine...

Sabrina   You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm wishing good results for you on all your scans. I think your idea about helping girls in your community is a wonderful one, and they are lucky to have you as a volunteer.

Your son sounds like quite an athlete!

    Hugs to you, smerf

Oh, Sabrina, I hear how you have come alive with ambtion to do something.  Funny how when we come out of ourselves, into the lives of others, and we feel alive again.

Yup, Smerf, my wedding buddy was probably drinking.  People don't usually fling over a stairwell and do such horrid damage to the body, unless they have a few drinks under their belt (which, may I remind you all, he asked me to loosen).   If he has problem, this episode may correct that. He was a "code blue" and that means he stopped breathing or his heart stopped (I do not know.

So glad to have stopped in.  Hope all is well.

Hi all.  I'm checking in very quickly from San Pedro on the Caye in Belize!!!  Yay!!  It was tough getting everything done, but we managed to get out of Chicago and we are both relatively healthy!  Our original flight to Dallas was badly delayed and we were afraid that we would miss the connection to Belize, so Sharon used her status with American Airlines and got us on a flight to Miami and we caught a connecting flight from there.  AND THEY UPGRADED US TO FIRST CLASS!  Our luggage didn't make it for another day, but it wouldn't have made it through Dallas either, so if it had to be, then going first class made it almost worthwhile.

We've already done 4 days in the jungle, which was awesome and now we are chilling on the beach.  So far the weather has been wonderful- darn near perfect.  My husband is going diving with the neighbors tomorrow and I'll just chill out for the day.  I'm eating too much, but I"m enjoying it all.  What a difference from last year at this time.

Now that I've made you jealous, I'm going to sign off.   Time for a little 1 Barrel (the local rum) and Coke!

    Love you all!!

    LEESA - GREAT NEWS!

nanc - Femara can be nasty...hope it cuts you some slack soon!

Calypso - OMG - I LOVE THAT SHIRT!

Sabrina - Wow...your "passion" is amazing. Hope you can get back to it someday. Good luck with your scans!

Susan and smerf - A while back I read an article about a 16 year old girl that did that at the museum of science and industry, was going to try to hold on to the bannister though - just to be funny...but she fell - I think - 3 stories down and died (she hadn't been drinking).

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

WELL - I got really good news TODAY! First let me say - Don't ever NOT get a 2nd opinion, especially when it relates to surgery! CRIPE!

YES...I do have a severe Bunion and 3 very crooked toes...but the Dr. today said he does not think my pain is from that. He thinks it's a hairline stress fracture in either the second or third toe bones, caused by the high heals AND because I have Osteoporosis and a little bit of Arthritis in that foot! That's why the top of my foot hurts so badly and not the Bunion toe! He said this type of fracture doesn't always immediately show up on an x-ray. He gave me a new "boot", arch supports, more Celebrex samples, and a prescription to purchase a pair of walking shoes. He gave me a list of brands he recommends and wants me to get fitted in person. One of the reasons for the shoes is that he chose ones that will keep my good foot as high as the boot, so I don't damage the alignment of my knee and hip. I have to wear the boot and walking shoe for 3 weeks. Then I go back to him, if the pain is still bad and it's still hard to walk without the boot, he wants me to have a bone scan. Of course...you know what went through my mind again! DAMN...lol I could not muster the words, "could it be bone mets?"...cripe! But I'm not going to let myself go there... At least I don't need immediate surgery. He said in the future, the surgery will only need to be done - if the Bunion starts hurting. I chose him because he's older and more experienced and my Ortho Dr. referred me.  The boot sucks...but atleast I can walk - relatively pain free!

Legally...even though it's my left foot...I can't wear it while driving. So I have to put on a slipper while I drive and boot up when I get to wherever I'm going.

He also filled out paperwork for me to get a temporary Disabled/Handicapped  Embarassed thingie to hang in my windshield so I can park closer. But, he reminded me I should stay off of it, as much as possible...you all know how good I am at that! lol NOT!

Thanks to all of you who kicked me in the butt and suggested the second opinion!

    Good Evening Ladies,

Back to work today after spring break and the kids were slightly hyper today. I guess they missed me lol..It was very busy today..

I am going to Boston to visit my son the chef for the weekend. He is making me a surprise dinner...hum and his surprise is that I am bringing his grandma too..He is very close to her and they cook together when he is home. Last time he was home he baked cookies with her to bring back to school for his friends.. Glad the mess was in her kitchen not mine lol...

Leesa..I am soooo happy that you are doing well and have a good report..things will only get better for you !!

Susan..glad to hear that your wedding buddy is doing ok. Things happen for a reason and you were needed that night. We all have a purpose here on earth...we just need to find it..and you found it

Smerf...how are you doing with the house cleaning. Did you start on your remodeling of bathrooms yet.

Rita.. I always love a bargain esp. in the shoe dept. I love shoes..they are so cute and fun for summer. You can use the orange polish on your toes like Leesa did..lol

Laura..how was your foot md appt. today. I hope all is well with that foot of yours. I hope you are still wearing the boot. Keep me posted on the foot update.

Sabrina..getting involved is the best therapy for anyone who wants to give back to the community. You have compassion in your heart and soul and sharing it with young girls is truly a gift from god. Young girls need role models..and you seem to fit that perfectly.

Jackie..how is the mouth feeling..are you feeling better. I hope you are not getting to much rain down there.

Wendy..is your house quite now that your dh went back to school..

are you lounging in pj's all day lol..wish I could...lol

      Morning!

Laura....good news about the foot.  Well...good that you don't need surgery at this point.  But one thing I didn't understand...you can't wear the boot on your left foot...legally...to drive?  Why?  I fx'd my L ankle in 3 places and had a HUGE cast...I drove.  And another reason not to wear pretty stiletto heels anymore....sigh.

Sabrina....YOU ARE BACK!!!!  You know your passion and you are ready to pick up yoru life and full steam ahead.  I admire you so much for all you do for those girls...they need you so much.  And good luck today with the scans/tests etc.  We all know how you feel about those!

So JanClare checked in from Belize!  Sounds like she is having a wonderful time....the jungle I would have skipped but the beach + a little rum & coke sounds good....

Blackjack....have a wonderful trip!  Sounds like a great surprise is in store for your son...wonder what the surprise meal is?  Hope it isn't Eel Toes Flambe.  (do eels have toes???)

Need to run....labs for my thyroid this am...will check back later.  Everyone...have a wonderful Wednesday!

    MorningSmile

No rain today--Yea.  Of course it's coming again tomorrow....but their is sun outside right now....good enough for me.

Wow !!!!  Laura that is incredible about the foot, but at least you did not go and have surgery....and have to go through God knows what for a problem you don't seem to have.....doesn't necessarily make the real problem better so much....it still sounds not so good, but I think you have a pretty strong chance of solving this without anything radical having to happen.

Sabrina...I second the others feelings.  You do sound like you have a passion and can work with it for the betterment of womankind.  That's wonderful, and it's wonderful that you so totally recognize your passion.

Blackjack---maybe I missed it.....does your son go to school in Boston---or he is just a chef there....and I guess I'm thinking--why Boston???unless a chef school is there.  I would love having a chef in the family.

Wendy....thyroid...hyper or hypo or just all right.  Just wondering.  I was hyper ( severely ) for 7 years and then after finally finding out and dealing with it....became understandably hypo.  What a trip.

Well, best get my day started.  Denny is off today....hmmm.  I may be running all day.

Hi gals...just checking in quickly to tell everyone to enjoy this lovely day!  More rain is on the way.

JanClare...so nice that you got the first-class treatment and so good to hear that you're enjoying your trip!

Laura, I think I like this "foot solution" better than the last.  We will keep our fingers and toes crossed that it works. I'm so glad you went for a second opinion!

Blackjack, you keep mentioning "school".  What do you do at the school?  I guess I never asked....a terrible omission coming from a retired teacher!

Hi to all!  The outdoors and sunshine is calling my name and I'm meeting a friend for lunch so I'd better get hustling!  Enjoy the sun!  Thanks for sending it our way, Karin!

Hi girls!  I have been MIA for several days - just keeping busy with work and the kiddos (home on break).  At work, our annual budget process (which I control) started today. So, I may not be posting much over the next few weeks as it takes up my life for several weeks.

Susan - wow, what a story.  You truly were that man's guardian angel that day.  I hope he recovers fully.  Laura, I had the same thought about that 16 yo girl that died.  I remember that as I have a slight fear of heights and that story just freaked me out.

Leesa - so glad you got such good news!

Laura - glad you got that second opinion.  Sounds like a much better plan and if you are feeling better already then he much know what he's talking about.

Sabrina - you are an angel to those girls.  I hope that you are able to get back in there and help them.

I know I'm missing a lot of you, but I have to sign off.  I hope everyone is having a great day.

Hey, ladies hope you are all out enjoying the sun.  Well as for my onc appt.  Sort of disappointed did not get the scans and testing done.  I think my onc forgot to schedule them.  Now he is saying in 3 months.  He has started me on Tamoxifen.  Wasn't gonna mention the ovaries or the fact that he had saw a spot on my lungs the first scan until my dh mentioned everything.  Is it smart at this point to find another dr?  Or am I just being paranoid.  It's like he never checks my chart and when I tell him something he just blows it off to be just side effects and oh it will pass in time.  Last night I had the worse restless legs syndrom (my dx) ever.  My feet are still numb and my legs and I kept having bad spasms in them.  All I did yesterday was got groceries.  Is this all normal?  To him it is.  They didn't even run the blood test they were supposed to run.  And he can not explain why.  Wait until 3 months.  What if 3 months is too late i wanted to punch him in his throat.  (Yes I can get violent).  But anyways life will go on.

And to top it off my excitement on getting involved with the girl group at the Boys and Girls club was shot down by my daughter.  She plans to join the group and doesn't want her mommy around.  She wants me to continue with my group but doesn't want me to help with the other one.  I could have knocked her out too.  I was really hurt.  I told her to find her own ride to the meeting at first.  But after talking to Dh about it he said that I need to understand that she is not my Cody Bear anymore and I just have seperation anxiety and to understand her feelings that she is growing up.  So I sat down with her today and apologized for me snapping out on her and let her know I understood.  She did say that she would like me to stop by sometimes because she knows that I am good at what I do and she can tell already that they are gonna need someone of my expertise to keep order.  Cause moma don't play.

Janclar- Have alot of fun for me...I am so, so, so jealous.  Pick me up a souvenier.

Laura-hi, and hows the bunions?  I was trying to get a mental picture of your feet and I had to chuckle.  I am so glad I gave up wearing high heeled shoes 60lbs ago.  Other wise I would be walking around with hammer toes...LOL a family joke.

Well have a great evening everyone.  Off to take baby boy to baseball practice and to a Relay for Life bc meeting. (first time)

    Sabrina

Jackie- loved the quote for the day.  Had to post it on my families web site.

    Hi ladies:

Sabrina, I did not know about the spot on your lung, but maybe I missed that post.  Good for your husband  for asking.  God knows, I am the queen of "scared to ask questions" so again, good for your husband.  Did your husband ever get an answer when he asked about that spot?

I do not get routine scans, and I know some doctors do not order them and wait for symptoms.  You went, however,  thinking you were getting scans and the blood test.   Maybe  you could call and ask for scans sooner as you arrived to his office today,  believing he had ordered them.  I would not rush to get a new doctor.  I would call and asked for clarification on the following:

          1.  Explain again the spot on my lung on  a previous scan

          2.  The above makes me nervous and I want a scan ASAP.

          3.  Are blood test routine upon my visits?   If so, may I come in ASAP to get the blood test I did not get on today's visit.

Sabrina, I am sure all is well.  The post sounds  like perhaps you and your husband left there with unanswered questions.

    Good luck,

    Susan

Hi gals!  Wasn't it a super day?????   More sun, please!

Wendy, I hope that your tests went O.K. today and that you've been out enjoying the rays?  Was it warm enough up there to put down the top?  There were a few that I saw with their tops down today but I didn't make that plunge.  That air was still a bit too chilly for me.

Oh Blackjack...how I admire you and Pat.  I could never be a nurse.  That takes a very special kind of person.  My hat goes off to both of you.

Sabrina, it sounds like you've had a bummer of a day.  As for the doctor, I think you have be comfortable with them.  If you really don't feel that you are being given adequate and proper attention or care, you might want to start looking around for somebody else.  I have blood tests every three months when I go to the oncologist but I don't get routine scans unless there is a problem.  In your case with the spot on your lung, a scan might be wise....for peace of mind if for nothing else.  I think I would want one.  I have a mammogram every six months.  How long ago did they find the spot on your lung and how was it discovered?  Like Susan, I guess I didn't remember that post.  HUGS!!!!

Connie...I'm so glad that you're busy, happy, and active!  That means that you're feeling good and moving on with life!

Sharon...haven't heard from you lately.  Did you find a doctor over there who could look at you?  Any news?  Hope all is well there!

Kater... where are you hiding?  How are you doing, Michele?

Smerf...so you had a pile of those 80's things in your closet too????

Hey, I don't think Good Will would even want the things that I took out of my closet!!!   Now in another 20 years, they'll be right back in style!  LOL

Laura, I hope the boot is helping!

Jackie...how's the throat doing?  I bet it's really getting green down your way!  Spring will perk us all up.  It's been a long, hard winter.

I have a mass of debris to pick up in my yard, too.  Besides the normal sticks, I have the debris from the flooding creek.  My back yard is still a bit too soggy to attack but I should be able to start in the front of the house later this week.  I like the outside yard work.

Well, the kids wore me out at youth group tonight.  We did some interaction activities and they did indeed interact!  They were good but just got into the project!  Maybe I'm too old for this!  LOL

    Everyone have a good Thursday!

Morning All!  Turn on the TV and ATA airlines...gone.  St. Francis Hospital in Blue ISland....gone.  Linens N Things....in severe trouble.  Sharper Image...going out of business.  Jeepers!!!!

Sabrina....I agree with Susan.  Keep your dr for now, but do as she suggested.  Good advice.  How is you group coming?  As your girls get older...maybe you could bring in a health professional to teach self-exams?  I think the younger we teach girls the greater the chance they will keep this up for life.  Early detection can = CURE!  Just a thought....

Rita....no, I used the SUV yesterday as it was 26 when I headed out for my thyroid test...too cold!!!!  I am hoping to get the Z out of the garage this weekend to wash it, get some fresh gas and see if the top still works!

Kater....OK.  Enuf is enuf!  You were posting at 1am?  NO MORE CAFFEINE AFTER 6PM...MAMA WINNIE HAS SPOKEN.

Connie...enjoy your week with the kids and don't work TOO hard, but I know there is stuff you need to get done.  Be watching your mail this week...you'll be soooo excited!

Had the landscapers out....every 2 years I do something.  So this year in addition to a bunch of daylillies and grasses I am putting in 2 trees.  DH comes home (this after telling me to spend money and get something pretty)..."Trees?  Trees?  Are you going to call JULI?  What about the sump line?  Trees?  Don't they come with leaves?  What about raking? Trees?  If you are getting them for privacy, wouldn't bushes work better?  Where are you putting them?  There????  I think it would be better over there.....  Maple?  Is that the right kind?  Maybe you should get those green ones....".  I truly think my DH is certifiable...DO THEY COME WITH LEAVES?????   GET THE GREEN ONES?????  OK....'nuf about nutty husbands.

Jackie...how's the throat?  How many tax's do you have left?  When do you start rads?  I think for most of us who had chemo it was almost exactly 3 weeks later....

RE:  shoulder pads....I still have a few blazers/jackets that look I am doing my Linda Evans imitation, you know - from "Dynasty"!  Time to toss them, or yank out the padding.  Sure made your waist look tiny, tho.

I see lots of rain coming for you guys downstate...hope you don't get the flooding.

Calypso, NancyLa....how are rads going?  Skin holding up?  My ribs under my breast started aching about now.  Advil/Aleeve was rec'd for me and this worked pretty well. Oh and Calypso...loved the t-shirt!  Very funny!

Time to get moving....exercise first, then Menards to bring home paint samples (again!)...then another nasty phone call to the refuse company who obviously were in a BIG hurry in our area yesterday...They were already moving before the can was put down and they dug a HUGE trench in my front lawn and snapped the wheel off the garbage cart.  Idiots.

Have a great day....have you guys noticed how green the grass is getting up N here, and all the buds on everything?  Lovely.  I feel that this is a new beginning after the dark days of last year...I have been so much happier this week!

    Morning all,

It's raining out...not surprise to us but yikes....we went to Fairview Hts. yesterday.  It's a few miles from the river crossing over into Missouri--St. Louis to be exact.  On the way we saw the Kaskaskia river was way out of his banks and if this rain is very much we think parts of the interstate and roadways could easily flood.  Sure hope they don't.

I still seem to be getting some liquid/mucus from my throat....and it may be that the mouthwash is helping it to dislodge and I guess that is not a bad thing---anything that can remove it as I'm sure sitting there would encourage another bout of what I don't want...Thelma Thrush.

I have two txs left and then need 30 days of radiation and then my 5 yr. pill.

Did I remember to tell you.....my daughter Kate from California wants to send me a get well ticket to come visit her when this is all over.  That will be wonderful.  Been some time since I saw her, Robert and the boys.

We had garbage men who delighted in seeing how fast they could dump and drop our cans....ended up in the road where they were often hit by cars....we have some real yahoo's living out here who think it's great sport.  At about $35.00 a can that is not too funny.  We went in half with the neighbors and got a small dumpster and have been doing that for about a yr and a half now.  It costs a little more---but not that much.

Time for coffee.  I'll see ya'll after work.

Good morning ladies!  The sun is still out here, Jackie, but the rain is predicted to move in this afternoon.  Boo!!!  Yesterday was so nice that I was spoiled.  I even cooked out on the grill last night and it tasted so good.  Although she kept her distance, the outdoor cat came up on the deck and sniffed around.  I guess it smelled good to her, too.

Kater......taxes.........YUCK!  Don't even get me started on the subject of taxes!  If so, you'd all shut down your computers and leave the thread!  Mine are done but I refuse to send them the check until the last minute!  LOL  Glad to see your post as you really have been missed.

I need to get moving this morning as I'd like to get in a walk before the rain hits.  One of my friends has scans this afternoon and I'm meeting her for coffee after them.  She has multiple-myeloma.  Have you noticed how extremely stressful my days have been lately?  LOL

Please check in Michele.  I know that no news is good news, but I worry about you!  How are you doing, Leesa?

    Everyone have a good day!

Morning all.  I e'mailed in to work this AM telling them I'd be working from home.  Just hate that long commute, and sitting in that cube all day then the long drive to rads.  Boob hurts now, particularly the nipple so can't really wear anything much.  Also am feeling kinda pukey the last two days.  Onc said it was "stress".  Yeah man, you got that right.  8 down, 25 or so to go...?   This really depressed woman took hold of me on Tuesday in the rad waiting room, and just wouldn't let me go!  She wanted to talk and talk and started crying, she had DCIS is both breasts and just was so DEPRESSED.  I felt bad for her, but also felt bad being around her, so kinda excused myself after a while but not until she got my phone number.  I want to be supportive, but really, it's all I can do right now to make myself go there every afternoon.  What a drag.

Laura omigod, what good news!  Is the painting done now?  What colors did you paint?  I recently painted my kitchen fire engine red.  That was fun.

Hey Sabrina, you've been on my mind with your recent posts.  I hope you and your daughter can compromise on the club thing, cuz it would be so good for both of you.  She KNOWS they need you to run the thing right!  What a very good thing to have passion in your life.

Leesa, sending powerful magic your way.  That's prayer, to me.

Belize girl, a little jealous yes, but you deserve it.  Maybe I'll break out the rum and coke myself, mix it up with a little aloe....yum.

"Make music, make noise, be heard."
     By Bob Perks

I read some where yesterday that the hardest
thing to start is an orchestra.  It is also the hardest
    thing to stop.

Some compare our lives to works of art.  Before
us is a blank canvas and each moment a stroke
of the brush.  Still others say we are writers.  We
create the greatest story "never" told by writing it
chapter by chapter until our final days.

But I have discovered that we are all musicians.  The
melody of our lives was created with our first whimper
or scream at birth.  Through the years we have learned
to play our part as the master of our fine tuned instrument.

As a child we made noise and discovered that doing so
brought us the attention we needed so badly.  It was a
piece unknowingly written to the beat of those who loved
    and guided us.

As teenagers we "marched to the beat of a different drum".
Some of us discovered that we didn't like the instrument we
were and would have gladly exchanged it for another.
We struggled then to like ourselves for what and who we
were.  In those early years our music was influenced by the
world around us, our peers, our teachers and often times
changed from day to day.  We were writing a piece, that
when played, was understood and appreciated only by
ourselves.  We were, in a sense, auditioning for our part in life.

Then we enter adulthood.  Until now we were just playfully
tuning up our instruments.   In the orchestra pit, our music
mixed well, running the scales made us limber and ready for
our debut.  Suddenly  the noise stops.  Reality strikes the
baton on the music stand.  And we position ourselves
    ready to play.

But play what?  Some of us still hadn't practiced enough.  We
knew that there was a song inside but never took the time
to write it.  So as the curtain lifts and the Maestro draws our
attention, it all begins.  Some play beautifully, others still fumble
with the notes.  There, mixed throughout the orchestra, are those
who are still afraid to play.  They begin to fake it just pretending
to play their part.  "No one will know." they think.  "I'll just blend in."

Then one day the stage lights go dim.  A bright, beautiful spotlight
streaks across the stage and centers on you.   Without being
prepared you are given a solo.  You pause, only for a moment,
confused and afraid you rise to your feet.  The music of life
continues as your moment to shine approaches.  You are almost
blinded by the light, but just beyond the edge of the stage you see
familiar faces.  Family and friends have gathered front row center.
Through the years they have heard the music you have been writing.
They, above all others, know you can play your part well.

Fear and doubt, your greatest enemy, can silence you and steal
    away your debut.

But look.  There at center stage facing you, shadowed by the light,
you see a look of confidence on the face of the Maestro.  He knows
very well that you can do this.   His baton lifts and points at you.
Almost magically you respond and begin to play.  Oh, the song is
so beautiful.  The notes are divine.  The timing is perfect.  Those who
did not know you are swept up by the melody that you have created.
Those who believed in you all along stand tall and proud. Together
they applaud as you return to your seat.    Longing for final approval
you glance to center stage.  The Maestro's head lifts and turns toward
you.  You hear the words "Well done!  Your part is finished."  You leave
the stage as the music continues and with one final glance you realize
you have seen the face of God.

Yes, from beginning to end we are a part of the Great Orchestra.
We are given everything we need to write the music of our life.
We are not only the song writer, but we are the instrument.

Have you discovered the part you are to play?   Or are you faking it
hoping that no one will notice.  Have you given your thoughts over to
fear and doubt because you tried to play and no one listened?  Perhaps
your self image is such that you believe your music remains nothing
    but noise.

"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if
no birds sang there except those that sang best!"

Besides,  it was the Great Maestro who placed you in this orchestra.
Your life is music to His ears.

    "I believe in you!"
    Bob

Sorry, got to put up with the font stuff.  Long day and had to run out and feed the feral cats right after work---hoping the rain would hold off till I could honk them out to get a little food.  I know we need some rain ( not really now ) but I feel bad for the kitties who by now are somewhat spoiled by having food delivered every day of the year.

I'm sure they could do what they needed to provide some for themselves....but in the rain and mud it would be very un-pleasant.

Rushed home to take care of Babe and get him fed.  He came back from th4e groomer's looking good and better yet...smelling good.  He had been out in the rain enough times to smell like a dog who had been in the rain too often needing a bath.  I bought some cologne for him that smells like coconut.  He smells like a Pina' Colada now.

Hope you are all doing great, but sorry so many are getting our rain.  We are due to have another night of it....just got some good sized hail, and had some electrical activity going on....knew that from the booming even though I never saw lightning.

Well, hope I sleep good anyway tonight.

You all take care and I'll check back later.

Hi all - just checking in.  Feeling fine and went back to work right away Monday. Very little discomfort. Saw the doctor on Tuesday, finally able to remove that elasticized tube top, which I found very uncomfortable.  Now back in a bra and feeling good. I go back next week, maybe to get the stitches out?

I'm sorry I don't check in more often but as I've mentioned before our desktop computer is soooo slow that I lose my patience (and train of thought), and the laptop always seems to be occupied by someone else! So one of these days, maybe with the tax refund, I'll get a new computer:)

I do try to keep up with the posts daily, and think about each of you. Wishing for health, happiness and sunshine for each of you!

Hey all!! Doin' the Friday Dance!  Drizzly here and still dark...but no snow and it's going to be 61 tomorrow....Whoooohoooo!!!!! Finally!

Calypso....Rads getting you down?  Yep....we've been there.  You would think with all the modern medicine out there they could figure out a way for all of us to do what we need to do in a shorter amount of time.  Or...how about better hours?  How about being open on the weekends too so we could better schedule?  I know they have mammosite now but it's for such a small percentage of women. Hang in there!  And as for giving your phone # to that woman...well, you are a saint.  I couldn't have done that...at least, I don't think so.  Do you think you might be able to direct her to this website?  You don't have to mention who YOU are on here....but you are so sweet to care so much about her.

Mich101...I understand about pokey computers.  Time for us too...but I am trying to hold out until they fix some of the problems with Vista.  But glad you are back to "normal".

JanClare....still sipping rum and cokes on the beach?  You lucky stiff.

Blackjack...off on your trip.  Have fun!

Leesa...please check in. What's next for you?  How are you?

Rita/Jackie...how's the rain/flooding down by you guys?  Rita...you can post pics now...I would love to see a pic of your yard/creek.

Jackie...thanks for that poem/story.  Loved it.  Also loved the fact that you have a dog that smells like pina coladas!  Too funny...

    Karin...where you at?

Laura...how's the foot? When do you get your car back?  Weather is turning.....

    Kater...hope you are sleeping!

Sharon...know you are busy over there, please keep safe.

Everybody I've missed....have a great day!  I am off to start my exciting day...have to get everything done today as I am babysittiing tomorrow for my nephew's 2 kids, 6 and 3.  Thank goodness the sun will be out and it will be warm...can we say "PARK" three times???  That should guarantee a nap for the 3yr old...if we do something fun like go feed the duckies in Geneva I will take some pics...love my grandnieces/nephews...they go home!!!

Connie....have a great time in MI and I hope you get nice weather.

    Hugs and Smiles everybody!
