Illinois ladies facing bc

I had a terrible clerical error too. The primary had the report on the mammogram. I told him that the cancer did not show on the mammogram, as I was told by the BS. He said that was not what the report showed and he showed me the report. It said that the tumor showed on the mammogram and the location was not where it actually was found on an MRI. I read it in horror. Then he said it looked like a clerical mistake (a bad cut and paste job from someone else's report to mine). he called the radiologist and the radiologist said he would look it up and send another copy. I called the BS office and I was mad! They never would never admit to me it was a mistake and just gave all these silly excuses as to how to interpret it....like my primary and I were fricking idiots. That got me even angrier so I went back to the primary and told him they said we were misinterpreting it. He said it was a mistake and it was not my report. He gave a copy of it to bring in to their office and then gave me the right on which was sent with no explanation of the error. He went over the second one and it clearly was my dx. I actually would have felt better if they just said it was an honest mistake and sorry. I no longer have that doctor as she moved her practice out East. Long (very long ) story short, Wendy is right. We must be vigilant.
Sorry to dump all this on you. I can feel my blood pressure rising just remembering this. I remember I said "what the shit" and I never use that language publicly, to the doctor and he wasn't even fazed as he understood how bad this situation was for both of us. He thought I was in denial and needed to show me the report.
Gosh, I feel better finally getting that off my mind (notice I don't say chest). I never said anything to you because I was worried you would think I had a bad doctor and that worried me that I might.
It is history and time to move on, yet learn from that and know mistakes do happen.

Error thread and advice during treatment
My oncologist talked to me for an hour that first day and he looked at the charts and said to write it down, that I was stage 2A. When I was almost done with chemo I got hold of some reports and everyone was calling it stage 3. Later he called it 3A. You have to read ALL your reports and watch EVERYTHING you possibly can and take notes and tape record or digitally record every doctor appointment and phone call if you want to remember ....because chemo brain makes it even worse. My xray at provena in aurora...the guy said a different age and something else that wasnt right in the dictation typed up...they never did re do it so i never felt that was really looked at...my xray after a weird bone scan, due to i cant even remember, i think it was related to a car accident i had had the month before.
I had not taped the oncologist that day about the stage...., unfortunately. He just said, "i made a mistake." My Mom remembered 2a, and even though she is 83, I believe her because she could compare to her 3C ovarian cancer. I think we both thought, well at least it's not as bad.
Like Zap, I'm better with it if they admit it. Also he had told me a different course of treatment that day without adriamycin, I was almost sure of it, because I had been concerned Rush said they would give me that and I worried about the heart thing. So I was really happy and thinking this doctor did his studies....Then later, that story changed, too, and i had to have adriamycin after all, but I had no notes on it and no recording. I did not have chemo brain then yet, just emotional upset brain....and being newly 49 years old! He changed his mind from femara to arimidex, too, but I think that was understandable, he was going by the newest study.
My family doctor found couple lumps under my arm, I think that's why she delved till she found a pea sized lump in my breast that she said, "i'm not sure if that is your rib". It did not show on the mammos taken later with object to find that spot.
Kater
I wish I would have videotaped myself regularly, it would not have been that hard to just turn a video on in the same place every chemo...I did later photograph every day after radiation. That's about the time a cross showed up on my bathroom foggy mirror one day, I thought I might have taken a photo but i cannot find it now! I always hope to see it again! I had asked earlier for a "sign"....being laid so low with this new news. Never seeing it again makes me think it really was a sign. Someone said to journal, but I'll have to save my emails for that, because i had no energy to journal. Perhaps i could have recorded with my cell phone recorder or such..or video....also I had to chart the chemo drugs because i had a heck of a time remembering WHEN to take them.

Irena - HI there! Glad you popped in...thanks for the compliment. Hope you're doing well.
Hi Girls - Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday. My friend came over yesterday with a bottle of Champagne... AND MAN DO I have a headache today! Cripe! I actually let her have a glass! LOL Now I know why I don't drink very often! LOL
I ran up to Costco and picked up a Rib Eye Roast...dh is cooking it in our Rotisserie. OMG - it smells SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. He'll also make home-made smashed potatoes and gravy. Do any of you have a Rotisserie oven? It is an AWESOME appliance. dh uses it alot for pork roasts, whole chickens and turkeys. Yum!
I'm a little bored today... may run up to the library... there's a book that I want to read - it's called The Cancer Industry... have any of you read it?
I feel bad that so many of us have had scary clerical/doctor stories... Here's another:
A week after I was dx'd, I received a letter from Lutheran G - saying that my Mammo came back fine and dandy...and that I should schedule another one in a year! HELLO - I was so piss**!

Quick pop in - Hi to all.
Good to hear from Irina. How are you doing?
I had an error/oversight too. Remember my hormone receptor issue!!!! Now I'm + and on tamoxifen!
0 -
I'm now much better with my very nice and special Dr. Dragon. New treatment start to work for me. For last 6 weeks my TM down from 1700 to 1200. 500 points down only with Tamoxifen and Zometa.
I'm doing now my externship for Medical Assistant and going to college for my last class, looking for college with RN program.
I have new litter of kittens, soon they have to go. I posted add in www.kijiji.com and try to sale them.
Busy, busy, no time for pink October, no time for cancer.

Good afternoon gals! Wow! What a lot of posts to go through! I finally got my presentation out of the way and now I feel a bit more social. It went very well but I hate getting up in front of so many people and usually draw a big sigh of relief when it is over. I keep telling myself that I am crazy for doing this to myself year after year but I do have quite the passion for scholastic bowl. You can't imagine how many different outfits I had on before I finally decided on "just the one." Is that vain or what????
Carol...I'm sorry that I haven't officially welcomed you to "our Illinois corner of the world" yet. Yes, this is all SO scary! I worried more about the chemo than the surgery and was so worried about what was going to happen to me when I appeared that first day for chemo that I'd made myself sick before I ever got there. The actual treatments are pretty uneventful and certainly didn't warrant the worrying that I did. We will help you through this journey. There are many wonderful gals who post here that are right in your area standing ready at a moment's notice to help you in any way that's needed and the rest of us who are farther away are here in spirit and will occasionally be able to offer advice if needed. Come back and post often.
Michele...CONGRATS ON THE 2 YEAR MARK! I'm so sorry that I didn't get a card out to you. I guess I was too involved in my own "presentation survival and preparation" at that time. YAHOO! You've gotten through the worst two years! You go, gal!
Susan, how well I remember those parent-teacher conferences! Rest assured that you will NOT miss them one bit next year! It sounds like you are coming up with some retirement activities and ideas already! With the economy the way it is, I'm really thinking about doing a little tutoring. One day I think it's a great idea and the next day I think it might infringe on my "freedom." Such a decision!!!! LOL
Usually you gals talk about doctors and hospitals and I have no clue about the locations, etc. Now I'm hearing you talk about Good Shepherd and I actually KNOW where it is! My oldest grandson was born there and of course I showed up just a few hours after his birth! I didn't even get lost!!!
Irina...so glad to see a post from you. Those kittens are adorable. How have you been, gal?
Lissa...Have you got an appointment for a second opinion yet or have you decided to wait to see you initial surgeon? Did you call back the initial surgeon's office and ask to be moved up? Thinking about you! This indecision and waiting is so hard! HUGS!
Blackjack...every time you post, you've been somewhere new and exciting. I am SO jealous and so happy that you can get away! Do you only work part time at the school? If so, that would be ideal. I always wanted to go south during the winter but could never do it during the school year. Now I'm really looking forward to it. We have booked a place in Fort Myers Beach for two weeks this winter. YIPPEE!!! Sunshine!!! Warm Rays! NO SNOW for two weeks! LOL See what you have to look forward to, Susan! :-)
Laura...loved the boob story! LOL And...no matter what anyone says, I'd really like you to perform a facelift on me, too. See, I always miss something when I can't make it to lunch bunch gatherings!
Karin, the golf clubs are not completely put away....just in case, you know. However, I've mainly replaced them with the bowling ball!
Julie A...you have this all wrong. You say you are B-R-O-K-E, but with your new hubby and all the good things that are happening in your life right now, you are very R-I-C-H! By the way, we still haven't seen a wedding picture yet!
Jackie...don't know when you'll fly back into Illinois but I want you to know that I've been thinking about you ALOT and hoping that all is going well for you. We can't wait to hear all about your reunion and your trip!
Wendy..thanks so much for posting everyday and keeping the thread so active! You've also motivated me to get off my butt and try my walking routine again. It officially starts tomorrow. We will see how the feet do!
All of you other gals....stay well and post often! I need to get to work. My laundry pile is overflowing!

Hi everyone.
Irina-- Back in 2000 with my first diagnosis, I met with Dr Leon Dragon-- I'm assuming he's the same one. I thought it was just a terrible name for an oncologist, but he was exceedingly kind and I remember him offering me his home number to call "with any question, whenever." I ended up going with a different onc. for other reasons, but have never forgotten his kindness. I see his name around now and then and am glad he is still out there helping others.
Had a busy weekend with the kiddos. Three Halloween parties, the costumes are trashed and I'm already rationing candy! We carved the pumpkins tonight-- will have to try and post a pic of them-- pretty funny. And tonight will attempt to roast the seeds. (Last year's attempt was a disaster...char seeds anyone?)
I'm doing better-- drain still in, but it's getting less and less and I'm hoping it can come out this weekend. Keep fingers crossed for me.
Ok- time to conjure up something resembling dinner. Where's my daughter's magic wand....

Hi:
Great to hear from you Rita. Yes, this is perhaps the worse time EVER economically to retire, but I am going forward. I carry my husband on my health insurance, so that will be a huge expense. I figured out I would have to substitute 8 days/month just to pay the monthly insurance for him. When I fretted about that, he said he would write me a check instead ! Of course, if our state stays solvent, I will have my pension. These are worrisome times.
Dr. Dragon is my doctor and I love him. The name was scary, but then I researched it and the Chinese believe the dragon symbolizes benevolence and power and the bringer of good fortune. That is very cool. The Europeans have a whole different take on dragons, so I am sticking with the Chinese on this one.
Irena, I would love to purchase one of your kittens, but my "beater" cat would no longer feel like the princess we have made her believe she is. She had a botched hysterectomy and her poor belly drags to the floor. My daughter adopted her. She then had anxiety issues because of the baby and the bully cat she lived with so we took her in just about when all hell broke loose with the BC. She has given me such comfort during harder times. Anyway, your "babies" are beautiful!
Well, I have my Halloween costume already for school. I am going as "Night" in a black robe with stars glued all over it. I am wearing a top-hat with stars glued to it and I am carrrying a "man in the moon" in the form of a round, white helium balloon with a man's face on it. The English teachers decided to go as metaphors, so I am Night. My colleague (about 32 years YOUNGER) is going as DAWN.
Have a great week.

HI! Thanks for the thoughts. My gyn is pushing for an earlier appt with my inital surgeon-she said for them to call back once they have the MRI results and she will see if she should move it up. It will be 2 weeks Tues for the MRI-I can't help but worry. They were annoyed that the dr. sent me for one vs. another mammo/us in 6 months and then no results yet-you would think if all was fine they would have sent those results right out....
As for another opinion - I am contacting UIC for a consult. If nothing else-it will give me peace of mind. I just need some answers - they tell me that as you age your body changes. So maybe lumps and discharge could be considered normal. Does tissue just appear or grow in different spots as we age? If its starting at 37 by time I am 70 - I might be really lumpy and bumpy.
0 -
LIssa 71
of course, i hope UIC does a good job for you. New York times i think rated them 6 compared to Rush's 36 in cancer. That doesn't really tell it all, but i heard TWO horror stories from northwestern even though I have heard great things, too.
Rush--rushed, but I was really angry with some of the things they told me wrong, and the recovery room was a fiasco, my first surgery...not really sure what to expect but I heard the nurse? talking way too much to the guy next to me and ignoring when I was calling out...
It's all kind of like fate...you go with your gut. good luck!

Morning! Still cannot restore my laptop so we bought a new one yesterday and Geek Squad is "tweaking" it...now it will be interesting if I can figure out how the router was installed. Otherwise I will need some help....too many layers of security as it was installed by a techy from DH's school district...who don't want people sitting in their parking lots, signed on to wi-fi! My signal doesn't go that far and I am really not worried about 6 layers....3 should be enuf!
Dr. Dragon sounds wonderful!
Susan....please post a pic of your costume!
Well....I am going to try and run Restore one more time and see if I can wake my old laptop up...hope you all have a wonderful day. Sure was windy yesterday afternoon. My neighbor's parkway tree next door snapped right in half and it was a pretty good-sized tree!

well...new laptop...just seeing if I can post. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be back online in the am...that is if photobucket loads!

Berrypatch / Carol
Hello Berrypatch / Carol
I'm sorry you have to be here as well.
I'm also a Carol & I'm 2 blocks away from McHenry county. I too go to Good Shepard.
I just finished my radiation across the hall from NW Onc. Love the doctors at both. (have you seen the Sally Struthers look alike nurse yet? She IS THE BEST! Love her professionalism and bedside manner. And she takes ya seriously doesn't look at you like a whiner like some doctors & nurses do.)
You can PM me any time - maybe I'll even run into you there! I'll be @ NW Onc. again Tuesday 28that 11:00 am. (Like you, surgeries didn't bother me, chemo scared me the most too. - But the doctor checks on the heart. Mine came out ok.) I'm glad your mom can help you! Mine helped out too. Thank God for MOMS!
You can PM me any time.
Mich101 / Michele congrats on your 2 year mark!
Wendyk13 /glad your laptop works. Because I need to hear more vampire neighbor stories. My Mullet Fest Neighbors finally got quiet because their mom moved back in. There were stopping traffic on 12 attracting under age girls w/ "free beer" in their mullet wigs. ((My neighbors have my mice now. hee hee))

I'm back...I think. Lost all my little pictures so will have to get new ones. Ihate computers almost as much as I hate BC! Almost. Not quite.
Hope everyone is doing well today, wherever you are in tx. Now...I will go take a look at my vacuum which was smoking....it's always something in my life! And I have no new vampire stories other than the fact that invited all these people over last night...but gave them our address by mistake. Does that count????

Wendy...I wondered where you were this morning. You were missed! Glad you have a new laptop and are back in the posting mode!
Little C and Berrypatch.........how wonderful that you are both so near to one another and that you are share the same name! Now that's a coincidence, I do believe! You were destined to meet! LOL
Well, I need to find my recliner. I got a bit too domestic today and I'm tired. I should learn to NEVER do that! :-)
Catch you all tomorrow!
Rita

Hi Rita...I figured that by now you would have learned never to get too domestic..
LOL
Here is a ride to take you away..

Morning! 28 on my deck....brrrrrr! BUT....Thursday is going to be sunny and 67! Plan something fun for that day, and outside! Rita....I think we need a tops-down day!
SoCalLisa.....LOVED your signature! Ain't it the truth...we may not like the cards we've been dealt, but let's play a hand anyway.
JulieA...I agree with Rita. You may not have much green stuff in your wallet these days but you are not broke. You are rich in the things that matter....just look around you.
Rita...I've missed you! I know you have been super-busy tho.
Blackjack...I know you are dressing up on Friday, but of course I've forgotten as what! All you guys who do don a costume on Friday please send pics!
Leesa...I guess you haven't gotten your internet connection back yet. Hopefully soon!
Lissa....glad you are moving ahead for another opinion. Hopefully this will be soon so you know wha'ts up ahead for you.
Laura......how are the new "girls"? Did you take them out for a spin? How's the goat by the way? How's Lance doing on his new protocol?
Julieb....did you get your drain out? Laughing about the pumpkin seeds...there was actually a little note in the Daily Herald this am...said over 31% of the people who try and roast the seeds forget about them and burn them. I remember my Mom doing that one year when I was little and she never tried it again so I am guessing she burned them as well.
So far laptop is good, Vista seems OK...just takes some getting used to. Thank goodness I saved a lot of pics to photobucket as of course all my other graphic files are lost somewhere in my crashed laptop. Geek Squad charges $70. to run your recovery disks and tell you whats wrong. New hard drive is $100. Other repairs go up from there. For right now....I can live without the other 'puter. And I caught some plastic in my vacuum yesterday hence the smoking...it's ok today so whew! Thought I would be back at Kohl's or Target, buying another one....
Hopefully everyone will have a great day and if tx is getting you down, here's a hug for a better day tomorrow!
0 -
oops...forgot for all you new girls...Laura GTO has a Pontiac GTO which she races and has nicknamed the "goat". She really doesn't have an actual goat.
At least, not that we know of.........
0 -
Wendy's back! It took me a while to get used to Vista, too, but I like it now. Some things are just hard to change! LOL
SoCalLisa..........thanks for the ride! I'm still chuckling at your domestic comment. Ha! And to think that I thought I was a fast learner! LOL
Well, it's cold here and I'm off to get ready for bowling. I'll be back later to chat more.
Have a good day!
Rita

Hi Girlz! How about that wind! Yesterday afternoon, one of the trees in front of our house uprooted and was hangin on the electrical line! ComEd had to come out and cut it down...but I spent a good portion of the day FREAKED out that it was going to fall onto a school bus or car, as it was not far from the road! Whew...thank goodness it didn't. I hope you're all doing well...
Oh and btw...dh just ordered me a JUICER! I am entering the world of alkalizing - acid and ph balancing by way of juicing raw fruits and veggies. I've been collecting recipes and can't wait to try them out. Lots of flaxseed too! Yummy...NOT... but berry healthy! lol
OH and I also have to share another funny thing that happened at our last get together: Not far from our table was a table of about 10-12 middle aged men. I told the girls, "Hey look at that table over there...it's the Illinois Prostate cancer survivor group!...should we introduce ourselves!"... lol
Rita - E-mail me a photo...I'll give you a face lift! Have fun bowling...you are always doing something! I love it! Also...I think you told me but can't remember...what are your holiday shopping plans this year? Is it Long Grove again?
Jackie - THINKING about you!
Susan - PLEASE post a photo of your costume!
SoCalLisa - Hi there...
lissa - Hang in there! Keep us posted.
--------------------
Hope you all have a great day!

HI girls!
Just wanted to say hi! Not much new with me. Getting ready for Halloween - we are carving the pumpkins tonight and then sitting down to watch Charlie Brown. I am pretty good at roasting those seeds.
I went with 2 girlfriends Sunday night to see Madonna. She rocks. Her show was excellent! Haven't always agreed with her personal choices, but love her music. I'm an 80's girl at heart.
Lissa - I just noticed your PM - sorry! I replied back with my surgeon's number if you decide you need it. Good luck.
Let us know how that juicing goes Laura.
Stay warm!

Hi all,
No, I think I'm setting a record for carrying around a drain. It's under 20cc finally and I'm hoping PS pulls it tomorrow night. (8pm appt- which means I see him at about 9pm....) He did say he wanted it "pretty dry" before he pulls it-- apparently, excess fluid sitting around can invite infection. At this point in the game, I really just want to be free of all tubes etc. I seem to have healing holes all over the place now. (This new drain was put in a new place- so now I have two drain scars there. Oh well- what's one more at this point)
The kids are quite excited about Halloween- although with three HW events last weekend, it has felt like it's already come and should be gone. The costumes are trashed, they are fighting over the Reeses and I'm desperately trying to ignore the siren call of chocolate..... Tim, appropriately enough, is a NASCAR driver. (His first word was not Mama- but "car.") Beth waffled back and forth, but finally decided on a "ballerina fairy." I got off easy- she is wearing a hand-me-down dress up costume of her cousin's- pink with tutu- and carrying a magic wand. Oh- plus tights! This is her new grand discovery. Suddenly loves tights and wants to wear them every day. She who threw the mother of tantrums when I tried to get her into a dress last Christmas! Now-- if I could just get her to stop "turning Tim into a mushroom" with her magic wand- which infuriates him, which results in snatching of said wand and then the screamfest starts..... I'll have to figure out how to post pictures of them in costume. If they/I live throw this!
Oh- and the pumpkin seeds. Well, I didn't burn them. And I tried making them with a butter/worchestershire/garlic salt combo...but somehow, they're not rocking my world. They are just sort of....greasy. Harumph.
And finally-- wanted to post the Discovery Health has a new show on Thursday nights-- Breast Cancer Diaries. First one is Thurs at 7 pm. I'm "DVRing" it. Will give it a try....although with such little time to watch tv...I have mixed feelings about watching. There are times when you just want a break from bc. Living it all day long- sometimes I turn to the tv or books for escape.

Hi girls!
I'm going a little crazy sitting around the house watching the clock tick. The numbness and tingling in my fingers and feet is so annoying!
Yesterday I went shopping and bought a couple of new hats. It took a little time but I finally found some at Von Maur. It was a day full of laughs. I found the best fit in the junior department. At one point, I was desperate enough to look at Limited Too. Then I thought, I don't want some 12 year old saying "hey mom, I have the same hat as that lady".
I have two weeks of Taxol left! I can't wait for it to be over. Any thoughts on how long the numbness and tingling will hang around? I saw my PS on Friday after chemo. He said he wants to finish the recon in January. I am hoping to get him to do it in Dec. He said that is should go much better than my initial surgery. Something about using the same incision site will make the healing process easier?!
Ginny - I'm so glad you got good news. Sorry I missed lunch last week. The bone pain from the shot was horrible. I hope you are healing quickly.
Kater - Thanks for sending the information on the army of women a couple of weeks ago. I sent it out to all the women in my address book. It would be so cool to be part of the research that leads to a cure!
Wendy - What did you think of the movie? I was a little freaked out by the portrayal of the drug trial process.
JulieA - I've been thinking about you as you prepare for implant surgery. I'll be praying that all goes well and that the implants will relieve the pain. No drains?! Is that a standard for all final recon? If so, I am much more excited about my future surgery.
LauraGTO - I got on facebook this afternoon. I love your pictures out there! I'm still laughing about your post from dinner.
JulieB - Hope you are feeling better.
Susan - I loved your food story.
Lissa71 - I hope you can find a surgeon who will get you in sooner. Waiting until Dec is unreasonable.
Connie - Loved you comment about cold weather and hot flashes! I am right there with you.
Carol - Welcome! As the girls have said...chemo is doable. I'm getting ready for my 15th of 16 treatment (4 AC then 12 Taxol). It sucks, but we get through it.
Irina - Love the pictures of the kittens! It reminds me of last summer when I had 6 litters of kittens. I'm a feral cat colony manager. I have 8 cats that keep me busy. Thank God they are all fixed now!
Ann - It was great to talk to you yesterday. I hope you are feeling more encouraged today. I'm sure the girls wouldn't mind an out of state member if you feel like posting. We are all in the same boat.

Good evening ladies - just wanted to pop by. Been running around getting RX's filled, cleaning house, grocery shopping.. all that fun stuff we gotta do before surgery.
Restrictions are the same for this surgery, so I'll be taking it pretty easy for a few weeks. Wasn't expecting that, I must say. But I am hoping - no, I am PLANNING - that this will be a breeze compared to the last one. (the glass is half full, the glass is half full......)
WendyTY - from what I hear, there's only a 5% chance of a drain(s) with the exchange surgery. Halllllllelujah!!!!!!! My PS is also going through same incision site.
Connie - you saw Madonna?? How cool. I've always wanted to see her, just never quite made it.
Laura, Rita, Wendy, Pat, JulieB - heck - everyone.... Sending you all a big hello as well.
I'll be online as soon as I can be & let you all know how the exchange surgery went.
Hugs, JulieA

Oh my gosh, I'm BACK!!! (don't fall over now!) My life has just been filled with so much lately and a balky computer made it just that much worse. To the point where I could read somewhat, but it took too long for everything to load and I had to spend my time online doing mostly research for my husband's business and our addition. I never seemed to be able to just sit down and post.
My son said he would fix it, but he was working on a project at work so that day after day it seemed that my tech problems were forgotten. Well, I threw a major hissy fit and got my son to finally, truly FIX the computer. (I paid thousands for his computer degree, I figured I should benefit some how!)
So big hugs to you all!! I'm so glad to be back. I've been struggling with a lot since starting this addition process (which is making me tear my hair out!! It's currently on hold while our contractor and the village inspectors come to some sort of agreement about underpinnings and plumbing for our foundation- it's been SIX WEEKS of back and forth. I swear, I think the inspectors don't have enough to do because of the economy and they are using our project to justify their jobs!! )
I'm off to read the thread and catch up a little. Doing a happy dance! (((HUGS, HUGS, HUGS)))

Hi Everyone.....hooray I'm home. Almost changed my mind about coming when I heard what the weather would be when I landed at Lambert airport---St. Louis. nippy, nippy, nippy. Well, since Dh was counting on me I figured I'd best come on along home. Beautiful, wonderful trip....I loved every single moment.
I'll add more when I'be had a night's sleep and fresh coffee in the morning. I sure missed all of you though and keeping up on a daily basis. Lots of reading to do here tomorrow as well as major deleting in my email baskets. Talk to you tomorrow.
Happy everything to everyone.
Love, Jackie

Morning! 30 on my deck....but not too windy. Why do I give the weather every morning?
Jackie....so glad you are back. I didn't do too well with the inspirational quoting while you were gone. I had computer problems and my quotes really weren't up to yours! As I am sure you saw when you read back thru the posts! I hope you have pictures of everyone.
WendyTY...I only (only????) had taxotere and while I had a little tingling in my fingers that disappeared right after chemo was done. Who's Ann? And of course she can join our little group! And yes you can shop in the teen stores! You are soooo cute you can wear whatever you want. Can you post the pic of your Mohawk again? We think berrypatch/Carol should do that too!
Jan...glad you got your computer working. We missed hearing from you.
Laura....you are on facebook? Is everybody but me on facebook? Gosh...I need to get with it.
Connie...Madonna? That sounds like so much fun. I would love to go see Dirty Dancing but DH refuses to do things like that and driving DT and parking in those lots is something I don't do anymore since we moved out here so I guess I won't get to see it. Unless of course some of you guys would like to go? Maybe we could catch the train?
Julieb....you know, you are very funny! And I can just see your kids! And you are very truthful....you admit that your kids are not angels all the time! Can just see that magic wand scenario! And....DRAIN B GONE!
JulieA...sending you good vibes for Friday!
Well....Laura, Blackjack and I decided on the spur of the moment to ask berrypatch/Carol if she would like to sit down face-to-face with a couple of us and just talk about her BC and she said YES! So we met up with her yesterday and girls....Carol is a hoot and a wonderful girl! I can't wait for you guys to meet her. I'm not sure what she thought of the 3 of us but she didn't run screaming off to her car so I guess she was OK! And Laura had a new haircut and she looks so pretty (and her new "girls" look really good). And Blackjack came from school and she was dressed in this little suit and looked so pretty!
OK...gotta run! Everyone...lhave a wonderful, happy day! Tops down, fists up!

Morning!
Glad you guys were able to meet up with Carol. I'm sure it was very helpful to her even if just to get out and laugh. The waiting and worrying is just horrible.
WendyTY - I had my last Taxol one year ago this week. I do not have any more numbness in my fingers, but I do still have numbness in my feet. It's not that bad, but I notice that it is worse depending on the shoes I wear and the weather. I didn't notice it much this summer in my sandals, but I notice it when I wear heels, tighter shoes and when it is cold out. I would say after the last Taxol, it got better in the next 1-2 months and then it has only improved slightly over the next 10 months. JanClare mentioned to me that her numbness has gotten a lot better since last year so there is still hope! I figure it is something I will just have to deal with. But, everyone is different and yours might go away completely!
I am not on facebook either. I barely have time to come on here every day.
Glad you had a great trip Jackie - you deserved it after all you went through. Can't wait to hear the details.
See ya!
