Good morning, ladies.  Looks like another lovely day out there.  Guess I really should get dressed and go check it out, huh?

I've been having one of those "bad spells" in terms of feeling the stress/anxiety/depression more than usual lately.  I know it's a normal part of our roller-coaster of emotions considering ... but that doesn't make it any easier at the time.

I'm having all kinds of throbbing weird pains in my legs.  I'm trying to not freak out about it, but I did make an appointment with my internist for this week.  I haven't seen him in a long time since I see my onc and surgeon so often.  I also am supposed to have my pre-op appointment for my revision surgery later this month.  I'm thinking that I really need to find out what's going on with my legs before I can do any kind of surgery.  I'm worried about blood clots, nerve damage, tumor pressure... you name it!  GAH!  Stupid cancer.  *kicks*

More rationally, my legs are probably just sore from me sitting on my butt too much in front of this computer!   I desperately need some kind of exercise program.  I'm not greatly overweight, although I have gained about 12 lbs since starting the Femara.  But my muscles and joints feel as weak as a newborn kitten's.  I'd like to find a Yolates program that's not too far from my home.  The park district offers one, but it's only twice a week and the times are not great for me.  I should make it work though.

Okay, enough whining.  Onward and upward, right? Smile

Juliechicago - Sorry to hear about your daughter with the pukies.  Ugh..it's always so hard when you catch it too.  I'm going to try and make the dinner this month too, so hopefully I'll see you there!

Juliet -  Glad you're doing well.  I'm envious of you getting your surgery successfully DONE.  I can't wait to put all my surgery days behind me.

Nancy - I did the Y-Me walk last Mother's Day with my husband, daughter and a good friend who drove in from Indiana to do it with me.  The weather was HORRENDOUS!  It was like a freezing monsoon out there, but still... it was a glorious day.  I was blown away by the thousands of people who withstood the terrible weather and walked anyway to support this cause.  I haven't yet started my sign-up for this year, but I do plan on it.  We called our team the SuperTeam of Hope- (I love Superman).

The Network of Strength (formerly Y-Me) walk is awesome because it's short and easily doable, without a huge financial obligation.  It's  affordable for me to be able to walk with my other family members and friends without having to raise thousands and thousands of dollars.  I think the 3-day walks are truly amazing fundraisers, but I've always balked at the idea of raising enough money to walk in them and have my family with me.

    Good Morning Ladies!!!

I'm so "egg-sited!!!" I saw a robin yesterday!!! LaughingWe had a beautiful sunny afternoon! Got some yard work done. Just had to be outside to enjoy the cool but sunny day!! That will end this afternoon ..... they are predicting snow Yell

Just found out my niece in Elgin is expecting!! Her due date is the same as son & DIL! May 5th!

Still no plans to come out for a visit. Was thinking about March for Dad's B'day, But last year you had a snow storm the day I left, almost didn't make it out of town! May wait till after my niece has the baby. At least my boss is doing much better, So I should be able to take time off this summer.

Laura I do wish you would see a DR re: the fever.

Rene23, I was on Femara....made my legs and joints ache soooo much onc switched me to Aromisin. And yes he did advise an exercise class. But like you it's hard to fit in a busy schedule.

I better get busy, clean house & get ready for work week will check in later

For all the great nurses who come here:

Nurse: A beautiful woman who holds your hand for one full minute and then expects your pulse to be normal.

just ran across it and it's a very old joke and I was sort of glad to see it still around.

    Hi Girls!

It's been a crazy weekend here.  DH had some complications with his wisdom teeth removal.  He ended up at the oral surgeon's office.  He's still in a lot of pain today.  I told him it was a good thing everything went well the first time otherwise he would have never gone back again.  He agreed.

My Herceptin treatment went well again.  No long term side effects.  I'm glad to be feeling well afterward but still a little concerned by the never ending unknown reactions.  This time I was asleep for about 6 hours after the treatment.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day.  I have an appt with the onco at 10:30 and a job interview at 1:30.  Hopefully the first will be uneventful and the second fruitful!

Juliet - Take it easy!  Glad everything went well.

Rita - Enjoy.  Oh by the way it was 65 degrees here yesterday.  I was thinking of you while reading on the deck with the cats and Taylor.

Wendy - My job search is all over the place - government, university, business.  My background is two fold Government Administration and IT.  The market is more positive than the news leads you to believe (at least here in Bloomington).

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday!

WendyTY - Ouchy - hope dh is feeling better - nothing worse than tooth pain. Good luck tomorrow!

Hope you're all enjoying the day. I am feeling better...laying around being a lazy butt! Temp is down to 100.1. I think I'm going to change my screen name to PARANOID1...lol If I have a temp tomorrow - I will call my dd (dear doctor) lol

dh is making me my favorite comfort food - a big ol' pot of chili and cornbread on the side! The house smells great!

Well, no baby, but we do have a full moon.

My Dh and I had fun today. Have any of you been to the Cantigney Mansion in Wheaton?  It is a war museum, and that may not interest you, but the mansion and the grounds are wonderful.  We are thinking of doing a field trip there and so I scoped it out for my team.

The Baptism was great and we all had a fun party afterwards.  This kid is just amazing and I am so excited to be her Confirmation sponsor.  There is something to be said about being Baptized when you are a "half adult"  or even more, an adult, as it is so much more meaningful.

Rene, cancer, my doctor told me, does not (generally) go below the knee or elbow.  That was helpful to hear when my lower leg was in such pain.   I forget your situation. Are you on arimidex?  Wendy, Rita and I (perhaps others) can tell you that Arimidex can cause pain that jumps about like a wild man.  I am sure you  will be okay. I get the anxiety too, and good for you for making the appointment.

Laura, you appear to have the flu.  Did you have the flu shot?  No matter if you did, as one can still get the flu with the shot.  I am sure you have the flu, and if you rest and drink liquids, it will leave your body.  I am excited about the race/walk in September. I will have brunch  if a ton of poeple come or if two come!  My Dh loves to cook and so we should have a nice way to consume  calories after we wear off a few walking along Grant Park and the Lake!

Glad to hear from the rest.  Stay happy and hopeful.

Morning!  50's today, 60's tomorrow.  I know it won't last but I am sure enjoying it while it does.  The top WILL gp down tomorrow!

Nancy...good to hear from you!  You sound like everything is going pretty well.

Laura...hope you wake up this am feeling like your old self.

Rene...I just noticed your avatar....it's wonderful.  As for your little mini melt-down...well...get used to them.  I feel that they are part of our lives from now on.  I look at the bad times as this is when I get scared and I look at all I am trying to do to keep the beast away and I usually think of one more thing I could try and I feel more positive as I add that to my ever-growing list.  We've had cancer, some of us still have cancer...that's not an easy thing to have enter your life and I doubt that a cancer patient is ever able to pull it totally behind them.  So...it's OK to have a bad day...just come here and tell us.  We know where you are and we will all try to pick you up.  That's why we have this group...we are sisters, forever.

Susan...I am thinking DH would love that museum. I however would hate it so....I think I will wait until spring is here.  He will love the war/history part and I will love the grounds/mansion part.  The brunch sounds great...but I don't think we will be able to bring any dishes!  They'd be sitting in the car too long!

Blackjack...how are the moms?  Did I know you were going to Fl?  We are still checking....fares still silly.  I did find one tho to Ft Myer for $161. RT during the week Tom is off in March.  HOWEVER......2 stops and it takes about 16 hours!  So...yeah....no.  I keep checking tho...that's how I got really cheapie tix to Miami one March.

WendyTY....so sorry that DH has had a rough time with the extractions.  Ouchy.  Hey...with your background...want to run for gov?  I would vote for you in a heartbeat!

Juliet....hope every day you are feeling better!  You deserve it honey!  How's the job search?  Any nibbles?

Karin....I really hope that you come out in May!  Looking forward to meeting you...we shouldn't have any snowstorms in May....

Hope everyone else is doing well....enjoy our next couple of days as I fear, this being early Feb. they will not last!  Heck...I still have a full snowblower and I really don't want to have to drain that sucker!  OH...next-door neighbor...home all weekend....Christmas decorations still up, with the hay bales on the front porch.  OH COME ON!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone.....not bad here though rain is coming.  Won't be much till tomorrow night into Wednesday when about 2 inches is expected.  Sure seems that the last couple of years it is one extreme to the other----too much snow and ice and probably too much rain and run-off.

Called Buddy's new people and they say he appears to be doing fine.  His new friend Maggie takes him into the woods and shows his around.  They have about 5&1/2 wooded acres so that is where Maggie plays.  I'm so thrilled....just hope things get going well.

BIL sent an email with note about the new wood-burner they put in.  Ok by me.  All pretty much know where I am on this.

Family in California are great.  Alissa moved in with Kate and Robert...about a week before her birthday.  Hooray.  Lots of extra work for Kate and Robert but hey.....if your getting lots extra it is a bit easier when you have some youth on your side.

Welll, I need to go get ready for going to Marion ---- lunch at the local Marion Steak & Shake afterwards.  Talk to ya'll later on tonight.

Good Morning... I am loving this heat wave! We just have to be patient for another couple of months...and before we know it...spring will sprung - I mean spring will spring! lol

Last night...I am convinced my temp "broke"...on a normal night I have many head sweats and flashes all through the night, but last night...it was almost 2x as many. Changed my pillowcase 3x! It suck** - but I'm feeling much better today - no temp. Whew...perhaps just a nasty virus. Perhaps the home-made chili helped too! lol

I did get a flu shot - and will ALWAYS get one. Years ago before I DIDN'T get the shot, I had the flue several times a season...and it was always the KILLER FLU FROM HELL... But since I started getting the shots every year...it's rare and the aches, etc. pale in comparison. So it works for me!

Jackie - Glad to hear Buddy and Maggie are pals...that's a big back yard! Alyssa is settling in to! Marion - isn't there a large prison there? Think I saw a program on tv about it...scary, scary inmates!

    Have a great day!

Just another quick drive-by to say hi!!   I'm sleeping like crazy - my body really just wants rest, rest, and more rest.   I get up to walk around the house a bit to get the blood flowin', and then I'm asleep again, lol.

I finally got a full view of the re-reconstruction.   I'm probably still swollen, but what a difference.  So much more of what I wanted to end up like.

    Take care ladies...   Juliet

Laura and Juliet..........so glad that each of you are feeling better.  I'm glad you were pleased with your sneak peek, Juliet!  That's so wondeful!

We're down to only two days.  We're going to Sanibel tomorrow to spend the day with one of my friends from Bloomington who has a condo on the island.  Then on Wednesday we're playing our last round of golf this winter.  These two weeks have flown by.  I could really get use to wearing shorts in February!  LOL

    Hope everyone is doing well.

Karin - I did pretty much the opposite of you.  I was originally on Aromasin, but the joint pains (particularly my hands and feet) were so horrendous, I actually called my onc crying while I was in the middle of a store with my mother.  I don't consider myself a baby about pain either, but it was INTOLERABLE.  He put me on a medrol pack after that (which was heaven), then switched me to Femara.  The joint pains are never completely gone, but they have settled into being tolerable at least.   These "new" leg pains are different though - they feel vascular, maybe?  Naturally my brain goes immediately to the worst case scenarios, but I'm working on being more rational.

WendyTY - Good luck with the job search.  I'm glad to hear someone sound more positive about the job market out there.  My son is graduating this year from college and I was just helping him with his resume' last night.  SO few of his friends who graduated last year actually got jobs in their fields.  A few are still working the jobs they had while still students.I think entry level jobs are still very tight.

Susan - Cantigney is an AWESOME place to visit!  It's not very far from me, so we've been there a few times.  The gardens in the springtime/summer are glorious.  It's a wonderful place to just go and spend a day, have a picnic, walk the gardens, see the museum.

Wendy - Glad you like the avatar.  I made that a few years ago with photoshop.  It's kind of my de-stressing hobby.   Thanks for the words of support.  It was an exceptionally BAD weekend for me emotionally for some reason.  I could actually feel the depression overwhelming me.  Thankfully, I don't have bouts like that as often as I used to, and they don't last long.

Speaking of airfares... have you ever tried Kayak.com for airfares?  It's my favorite for locating fares. I always double-check the actual airline site after I find the fare on kayak.

Laura - I'm glad you're finally feeling better!  I'm with you on the flu shots.  I have the whole family get them every year.  I don't see any reason to take the chance of getting one of the Big Bad flus if it can be so easily avoided.  I hear a lot of misunderstanding from people about the flu shots, but I'm a big fan.

Rita - I am SO jealous!  I love Sanibel.  There's a well-known local restaurant there that's known for their fabulous Red Velvet cake.  Yum!

Man... I need a vacation.  Cruising is usually my vacay of choice, but so far, I have nothing planned this year.  I'll need to work on that. ;)

Snow's gone!  Snow's gone!  I am taking a cruise in the Z, top down...in FEBRUARY !!!!!  Yahoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!  Ftizpatti....my first ride I dedicate to you, always remembering to enjoy life!  Life is good !

Rene...thanks for the Kayak tip.  Blackjack has also given me bookingbuddy.com.  Still looking for spring break....i need a beach!  Badly! OK...I guess Cantigney is on my list for the spring!  Wheaton's not far from me either...

Jan...I did 4595 on PopPies last night!!!!!  I hadn't played in over a week so I thought I would give it a whirl...of course, now I am back to 600!  Did you check your schedule?  Are you working on the 19th???  Sure would like to meet you!

Rita...yep, shorts in Feb. would be sooooo nice!  Enjoy Sanibel.  I've never been but it sounds wonderful.

    WendyTY....how's hubby?

Juliet....I am soooo happy that you are so happy with the new girls!  Hey...take a picture!  LOL

Laura...thank goodness you seem to have turned the corner.  When did you get your flu shot?  DH always runs out in Sept as soon as they are out....I refuse to get mine until early/mid November.  They only last so long....oh, and by the way.  I got my flu shot at CVS at the minute clinic...they took the ins and never charged me a thing!

Jacks...glad Alissa is "home"!  Any plans for her to come visit you?  Still laughing about BIL sending you a note re: new wood burner.  I bet if you went to Hallmark you could find a card for that!  LOL, LOL!!!  I am sure you read the email and you were thinking...ooooooh....I am just soooo excited!  How's Maggie doing?  How was your doc visit?  You OK?

Karin...how's the weather up by you?

Carol....I think today is #4, correct???  Drink lots of water to flush that stuff out.

Ooops...Rene...forgot to ask...do you take Magnesium?  A lot of us take 500mg of Magnesium with wonderful relief from joint pain and muscle aches.  In fact my onc now tells all his pts. to take this along with the calcium and vit D3.  Just a thought.......and no, we don't really know why it works but it does in about 75% of pts.

I'm off to shower and hit the gym and then various sundry errands, including the library where I need to get more Lisa Gardner books...I love them Rita!  Have a wonderful, sunny, warm day and remember that today is a present, so open it up slowly and enjoy!

Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul.

Hi All, only have a minute as I have to get on the road to Carbondale and visit with Dr. Ryan, then back home to work....then ????  Yesterdays visit was great.  Fabulous Dr.  We laughed through most of the going over.  One of my most pleasant GYN appts. ever.  At the end when time to go she asked me if she could give me a hug....and told me it was good medicine too....and it was.  A great hugger, this Dr.  She is on my list of GOOD docs for sure.  Anyway...they will do PAP and let me know.  Have to cut down on coffee.  Told me I had the severest case of fibroid breast cysts she had ever encountered.
SIGH!!!!  Only 2 cups a day of the real thing and the rest must be decaf.  Oh well !!!!!  I can do that w/o even thinking.

I made this up --- or a note like it last night but was so tired I forgot to hit the submit button I guess.  We started out @ 7 a.m. and was about 8 p.m. last night before I sat down.  Pooped is the word.  Hope you all have a fantastic warm day....I'd have a picnic on the deck but too much going on to even think that.  You might know.....

Jackie - Glad you had such a "nice" appt... but... I HAD very dense breast tissue... all my life. Only had one cup of coffee a day and rarely ate chocolate... nothing helped to decrease the denseness... just fyi... and BTW... make some time to have that picnic on your beautiful deck!

Wendrew - I always get my flu shot as soon as they are available...late October(?)... this year I got it at the Walgreens by my casa... same as you... they submitted the paperwork and I wasn't out of pocket at all...zippo, denaro, nada, nothing! lol

Irene - I hava a recipe - somewhere - for Red Velvet Cake... my gal pal makes it for her hubby and son - every Valentine's Day.

Rita - I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NV-IOUS. Soak it up girl and store it... gawd knows you'll need it when you come back here!

P-Juliet - WooHoo... does this mean that you're DONE with surgeries? I hope so... you have been through WAY TOO MUCH at your young age! Be well, dear!

blackjack - When do you leave?

Hi Girls... just checking in! Hope you're all doing well.

It's sad...but true... saw an "article" on AOL this morning... Chicago has been voted one of the most miserable cities. Boo-Hoo! Much is do in part to the fact that we have such corrupt loser - politicians... I wish the feds would be more aggressive with putting an end to it... It's such a beautiful city... I think about our bc walk along the lake... it's just such a vibrant town... the architecture, culture, etc... sad!

    What an incredible day.......

Wendy.....I am not off on the 19th and it is actually my late night.....which means I go home when the last patient goes home which can be 5pm or it can be 8pm, if I happen to get out early I will hop on 355 and come for coffee and dessert but I cant count on it....and its very hard to get someone to work for you when its your late night. I WILL be at one of the outings and we will all get to meet in the spring if not sooner.....I feel like I already know everyone !

Rene.....where do you live ? We go to Cantigny when the weather is good , along with the arboretum so we must live fairly close to each other ? I think you know Im in Downers Grove....

ooooooooooooooo Wendy.....they must have done something with Pop Pies *L* I too had a score of over 4000 the other night and I too havent played in a while....and for me it was also a one time thing with all the pies falling just right but NEVER can clear the field.....

I know I havent been on Arimidex long enough to know how much trouble I will have with side effects but I am swearing by and sticking to my combination pill from GNC, the combination of Magnesium and Calcium and Vit D seems to be everything we need to feel as good as possible....I am also taking the super Glucosamine Chondroitin and a fish oil to lubricate things a bit.....I want Arimidex to be my friend if thats possible and I want them to have an answer for me about what we are supposed to do without it when our 5 years are up......not wishing to be tossed to the wind.....

Laura....I heard you met my *daughter* curlieqs....I told her she should come and join us here also , she is one of my best buddies and we are now connected by this *very friendly disease* she has only been diagnosed a couple months longer than I

I am off work tomorrow *fingers crossed* for this rockin good weather to continue.....though I know its not supposed to.

Hello and good days to everyone else !!!!!

    Hi all:

I also loved the Morton Arboretum!  Catigny or the Arboretum could be a future place to walk and talk during the summer. Both have parking fees but they are so fair as compared to the Botanic Garden, near to me. You can bring picnic foods to all and I hear the grounds are so pretty (we went to arboretum and Catiy in dead winter).  They also have restaurants. Future idea!  We did Starved Rock last summer and I totally loved that experience.

NO BABY YET!  DD will get induced early next week.

    Take care!

    Hi all -

OK - I know we have a lot of nurses on here so tell me if I am overreacting!  My daughter woke up on Sunday with a fever and a sore throat.  It continued all day Sunday, yesterday and today.  I give her Motrin, she feels better and then 5-6 hours later her fever/sore throat is back. So, I take her to the dr this evening.  I have been going to the same dr. office for 11 years - they have a large practice and there are always drs rotating in and out but I like their hours and have never had an issue.   So, I see a dr. that I have never seen before tonight.  She tells me it's most likely strep and takes a culture.  I then find out that apparently my insurance will not cover rapid strep tests so it has to go to Qwest and I will hear back in 2 days.  That's it!  Meanwhile, my daughter is left to suffer for 2 more days and possibly miss the rest of the week of school.  So, I start arguing with her about the situation and she tells me that antibiotics don't work for strep anyway, they are just used to prevent some complication of strep.  I have had strep a few times in my life and as soon as I have 2 doses in me, I feel better.  She tells me this is just coincidence.  Is this true??  So, after arguing with an admin lady about why I can't get a rapid strep test and arguing with the nurse about why they won't just give me an antibiotic if they think it's strep, the dr. comes back in to give me a sample.  She was extremely condescending and told me that this was against medical advice and "this is the reason why we have issues with immunities to antibiotics and problems with MRSA, etc. but if you REALLY "think" it will help her, then here you go."  She was obviously pissed at me.  Now, I know the whole issue about not giving antibiotics if you really don't need them and I never push for them if I am told it is a virus, but I really think she needed it this time.   I was very angry and felt I was treated very rudely.  SO - be honest - was I out of line??

HI Connie, to answer your questions re: strep and antibiotics, most md's do not like to prescribe antibiotics without a + strep test. There are many bugs out there that are residence to antibiotics because they have been over prescribed for sooo many years that the bugs have now become super bugs ie. MRSA. They do not give antibodies for ear infec any more..they let them run their course. I know how you feel, so helpless when your child is sick and you want them better like now. The md's office was probably on over load as this is flu season and many I say many kids are sick. Mom's know their kids best..so I always go with my gut feeling and I let the md know,

Sometimes I'm right sometimes not. The best thing is fluids, rest, rest, and more rest, Tylenol, Popsicles, lots of hugs and best of all Disney movies. The flu out here now is lasting 2 weeks or more. I tell my kids good hand washing is the best medicine. It keeps the germs away.

Sooo I hope your little one is feeling better real soon. Sending good healing hugs to you.

Hi everyone....another long day, but I'm ok with it.  I did find when I got to Carbondale that I did NOT have an appt. with Dr. Ryan but scheduled for a diagnostic X-ray.....of the Rt Breast Lump.  I was a little upset.  Not so much that they wanted to do the x-ray study....apparently it was supposed to have already been done --- don't know who dropped the ball --- but irritated that no one told me what I was really going to do there.  Sigh !!!  I felt a little on the duh!!!! side of everything.  Well, no real harm done.  Anyhow, they said all looked fine but in June when it's time for my Lt. Lumpectomy side....they are going to do another study on that right side area.  Whatever.  This confusion has gone on since Dec 15th. so I'm a little tired of the whole thing.

And Laura, thank you, thank you.  I'd just as soon save that decaf for late afternoon and evening coffee.  I have had this problem since I started getting mammograms at 27 years old ---- I don't really see that four or five cups should make all that much difference.

Nothing much else new here for me.  We just got back from the Humane Society meeting and it was raining when we came outside....well, it was to be pouring today and we went to Carbondale in the sunshine, so it's catching up with us.  I went to work right after driving the 70 miles back home from there......and rushed home after work to take care of my screen room kitties and don't tell anyone.....pit stop at MacDonalds for a quick burger and coke before the meeting.  Some days are wild around here.  I'll be working tomorrow as well.

    All take care....

    Jackie

connie - I would have had the same reaction as you.... it suck*... you are responsible for your little one... I was of the belief that strep can be either viral OR bacterial... If it's bacterial... then YES, antibiotics do the trick. bj had good advice.... I'm not a mom or a nurse - so I can't advise... best to you though... hope your little one is doing better.

Jackie - I just have to thank you for being so involved with our critters...

Morning!   Congrats, Smerf!  You are a THREE YEAR SURVIVOR today!  I wish you many, many more healthy wonderful years!!!!!

Connie.....I don't have kids so my take on this whole thing is this...1) Why doesn't insurance cover quick strep tests????  I thought they were pretty accurate and United Healthcare and Aetna both cover them and they don't cover quite a few little tests like these and 2) I am also VERY concerned re: docs handing out antiB's like sugar cubes, for all the reasons Blackjack gave you.  Now...this being said....I DON'T have kids...but being in your place I too would have been upset.  Just wondering...how much was the quick strep?  Could you have just said..."screw it" and paid for it yourself? If it was $30-40 maybe you could have just done it...but of course it probably was some ridiculous price, like 5 hundred!!!  OK....I have submitted my opinion.  And...it's YOUR child, YOU need to do what YOU feel is right as I bet you felt in your gut that this was the right thing to do.  So...kudos on standing up to that doc.

Jacks...I would be a little (well, okay A LOT) miffed at your mix-up yesterday.  And what the heck is exactly going on in your R girl???  Sounds like they are just watching something....but what is that something????  OH well...we know they are careful so that is a very good thing.

Jan....I tried PopPies last night again and I hit allmost 3000, then back to 400!  I need to try a few more of those games!  Sorry you can't make the "lunch".  How far ahead do you get your work schedule?  Maybe a few of us could meet you for lunch one day????

Blackjack....sorry about Monday...got involved in this long conversation with DH which lasted until he was actually sitting in the driveway!  I haven't yet checked out fares...concentrating on getting the taxes done so I can mail out next week.  Hope your Moms continue to do well.  Anything new on the job front for DS?

Susan....maybe the baby willl come on Saturday!  Wouldn't that be a day!!!!!

RE:  Morton Arboretum...I have been there, once, in the fall.  It was so beautiful.  Now there is a place I doubt DH would go!  Is the Botanic Gardens pricey????  I was thinking that would be a wonderful summer outing for us as I know they have restaurants there....

Not much going on today, just my hair appt. that got moved from last week.  DH is off to Camp ?Timberlee with the 6 graders today for their annual overnighter.  He takes his own car tho, and comes home.  Can't say I blame him!  And there's no snow for the kids...just mud everywhere!  didn't take the Z out yesterday...waaaaaay too windy and there was so much dirt blowing that the whole inside of the car would have been filthy...so I settled for open windows and reading on the porch.  It was heavenly!  Have a wonderful day, my pets!

Good morning ! *watchin that rain comin down with no end in sight.....so not fair for my day off*

I too am getting my hair done today Wendy, now I have to find an umbrella. In the land of surgery which has become so unpredictable I get my schedule two weeks in advance....we all hate it cause it makes plans so hard .....I am off today and next Weds.....and both days have commitments.....when I get my days off for the first 2 weeks in March I'll send them or post them to you and maybe we could do a spur of the moment lunch dinner or breakfast , I like that idea.

I have tried several of the other games on the Mind Jolt website Wendy.....but my brain keeps bringing me back to Pop Pies.....YOU did that to me......

Connie....I was going to write to you but truthfully I am almost 100% in agreement with Wendy....about the non payment, about the atb use, the paying on your own if you needed to and I really really didnt like the way the Dr or the office treated you. I can tell you that at our surgery center the patient is always #1 and anything other than total courtesty and helpfullness isnt tolerated for any of us

yea for Pat (smerf) and her 3 year anniversary.....I am just about to hit 3 months *grin* I cant wait to be 3 years out !!!!! though that will mean Im 3 years older too.......

The Arboretum would be fun.....I have a membership and I think that would get a bunch of us in free if we could get people OUT of their cars and into mine ahead of time....I can only think of one indoor restaurant and one outdoor, neither are spectacular but everything outdoors is !

Have I mentioned that we are now counting the days til our vacation in April ???? I think there is no reason not to go on all counts now.....we planned it with friends to celebrate all of our birthdays but now we have even more to celebrate.....we are headed to South America and the Panama Canal for 2 glorious weeks of not seeing or thinking about Drs and tests

Its a good thing I work full time, I tend to ramble too much when Im home

    Happy day to everyone

Morning everyone......from someone who had a noisy night.  Lots of thunder.  I listened ( after I got up for a nature call ) for a bit then decided since I worked today I'd best go back to sleep which I did almost immediately after the thought.  We have a break in the rain for now, but there will be several more downpours during the day.  First slipin'n slidin' on snow and crusty ice -- now mud.

Hmmm, I don't know what I have going on with the Rt.gal.  I think just something they watch for two years and if nothing changes in that time ( according to them I only have 6 months to go on watch stand-by ) they call it nothing and move on and don't do special studies on it anymore... I didn't know that !!!  Maybe I've forgotten, but I don't recall anyone ever really saying "we're watching and doing special x-rays on a specific area" or am I just asleep at the wheel again.

My congrats as well Smerf, and of course may you be able to say the same every year for the rest of your life.

I have to go get ready for work and get my out-door animals fed, but all stay well  I'm so sorry Jan that you have to have this yucky gray moisturized day for your day off....better times are coming.

I'll see ya'll all tonight when I get off work.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  I guess the test for me is that if I sleep on something and I still feel the same way in the morning, then I know I did the right thing for me.  I still feel the same way.   I totally understand the issue with overuse of antibiotics and I am never one to demand them - they checked our records and my daughter has not been on one since 2006. I don't call the doc at the first sign of a cold or fever, I usually wait it out a few days and if it doesn't look like it is getting better then I call.   I guess the unfortunate thing is that they would not cover the rapid test and therefore I was stuck in that situation.  I didn't ask how much it would be, probably should have.  I still think that I was treated very rudely by that doc.

I hope everyone has a great day!  I'll check back later to read up on posts.

    Where is the sunshine?!

Things are getting back to normal around here.  DH is feeling better.  He still has quite a bit of swelling.  Yesterday was our anniversary (8yrs).  After I made fun of him because he looks like a chipmunk, I told him how much I appreciated him.

My onco appointment on Monday went well.  All the tests came back negative!  I'll have to say I was a little surprised when I told him I was going to an interview and he asked if I was sure I was ready to go back to work.  It is definitely a scary process.  The interview I had went great.  If nothing else it was a good boost to my self esteem.   I was a little worried about having my mind go blank when asked a question.

Wendy - Thanks for the offer...but I'm not interested in the governor's job!  I'll call you when I am ready to run for office.  You can be my campaign manager!

I have a friend from Minnesota that is having problems with lymphedema and is looking for some positive outcomes.  Can anyone help me out?  She reads the thread but doesn't post.

Well I better run.  My sister is on her way over for a visit.
