Tamox, for me, had more and stronger SEs.  Hot, hot flashes, weird ass cramps/Charley horses, in my shin, really.... achy and my endometrial lining thickening.  Did biopsy and all okay.  But switched to Anastrazole (started in May) as I am in chemopause.  SEs much lighter, a tiny bit achy and wussy hot flashes.  But my freaking hair is thinning!  I guess I'll take it.  Better the hair than the bod but damn!  (c:  Anyhoo, off to the onc today.  Weeeeeee.......

Debroah - I'm class of '89.  How about that?  My husband was just there for a football game for our nephew last weekend.  It was cold and rainy so I stayed home but I would have loved to have seen the football field.

Adey try women's Rogaine once a day. I think that's why I haven't lost any hair on the ESD (anastrozole). Remember before chemo I was losing (receding) my hair. I was doing Rogaine and it slowed it down.

Just an update. Adey & I are the top 2 fundraising individuals in the ASC Chicago Strides event out of 609 participants. Adey is on a roll! Our team is also on a roll. Still #1 with a new total of $5,857! I don't call out names on the list but a few of you ladies have been very generous with your teams gifts… THANK YOU from the entire team.

Way to go Lago & Adey!

No tornados in my area, just alot of rain that we really needed anyway.   I'm currently working on packing to meet some BC.org sisters in Las Vegas for the weekend.  Woo Hoo!  Gonna have a good time.

I've been off the boards for quite some time while I was busy with my new grandson.  He's 2 months old now and growing quick.

Medically, still doing good, just slogging through the recon.  Passed the 2 year mark on Sept 13, so that's good. Another surgery with tweaking and fat grafting scheduled for January.  Hoping to get all my remaining procedures in on 2013 deductible calendar so I can call it quits.

How long did you all wait for a breast MRI for the women that had immediate recon?  I think I need to get scanned.

MRI? I don't get those. I just get physical exams. I do hear though if you had nipples sparing you might still have to get mammograms.

I was told to get MRI every three years to check for implant leakage.

Congrats Lago and Adey!  I am so proud of you both!

Lago:  Have you gained any weight with the anastrazole?  I have been on it for two months and want to avoid that road if I can.

Cami:  Sorry to hear about our teeth!  I hate going to the dentist.

Today my RO and I broke up.  He said I didn't have to see him anymore.  One less doctor I have to report to. I am so happy!

Jackie:  Just saing "hi"!  Thanks for yoru daily posts!

kjiberty yes and no. I mean I also went into chemopause so I would say the 4-6lbs of extra weight I have is from that but I've been this weight before. And even with the 4-6 I really can't complain about my weight for my age.

    Hey ladies!

I've been off hiding, watching my hair shed. Finally said F it last night and got out the clippers. I'm not a generally vain person, but I do have a well shaped head! And considering I went to high school in the 80's, I should be used to this look. But....

Heidi I'm jealous. I so wanted to do the Sinead Oconnor look but I don't have a very nice shaped head.

Camile.....great attitude about playing up your purple.  I did that not too long ago.  Fortunately.....the bruise while it did not fade fast as I'd of liked.....lightened up enough that it didn't look so wicked.

Heidi...if you haven't done so, good time to go to a Look Good -- Feel Better seminar.  Those are put on by clinics and hospitals that care for we cancer patients.  They are very good at helping with make-up ( usually hand out a kit with about $200.00 worth of make-up which is free to you.....also scarves ( you can learn how to tie them ) and wigs as well.  I think that is when I REALLY accepted my baldness.  I did not have a very nice shaped head so was only "bald" at home, but it was so comforting and freeing to be in the presence of a whole room full of bald women.  Even though I never considered myself vain either....it was hard to lose the hair.  You can't have something with you for life that you care for every day in some way and not have lots of feeling when it has to disappear.  It is just one of those things on the list of 'new trials' as you help your medical team get you over this rather large bump in the road of life.  It comes back along with other things we may have to miss for a while.

Foggy out today....maybe more rain.  Went past Crooked Creek yesterday and it was way over its banks.  Hope you all have a great Thursday.

    Hugs, Jackie

Heidi, I couldn't wait to shave my head because of the shedding.  Trying to style hair that kept coming out was so frustrating.  I'm glad it's gone for now, but can't wait till it comes back.  I've been told I have a good shaped head.  My 5 year old niece saw my bald head the other day and she couldn't take my eyes off it. LOL...she said I look like Papa (who is also bald).

Jackie is right about the Look Good, Feel Better.  It was great and met some very nice women going through the same thing.  We all had our wigs on and it was great talking so openly about it.

I second the Looks Good Feel Better program. I wasn't in love with the make up but the tips were awesome. I swear I was the healthiest looking woman in the chemo room. BTW remember when I got my liver scan a few weeks ago and that woman said to me that "you make up is fantastic." Well that's all from what I learned.
