Ditto  Rita, Lakegirl.  I really enjoyed meeting both of you and hope Mimi can join us next time.

Isn't it amazing how we sat talked like old friends and none of us had met---only thing we had in common was CANCER......Guess its proof that there is good in the midst of bad.

Today my little pleasure was watching a childhood friend (who like me remained single and childless) hold a 2 month old granddaughter of another friend ( all my grade school girlfriends get together once a month for breakfast).  That little baby who had been kind a whiney, snuggled up and went right to sleep snuggled up to my friend, and the blissful look on her face when that happened was just priceless.  She didn't want to give her back to the real grandma, that's for sure.

Oh Redhead....how very sweet!  I think it's wonderful that all your grade school girlfriends get together once a month.  My grandmother's favorite saying was that "Old Friends are Like Antiques...they just become more and more valuable with time!"

We had a great day out on the water today and tomorrow my middle grandson arrives for his week with Grandma!  That means I have a busy week ahead!  :-)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Adey -- thought of you when I found this quote.

We think of ourselves as humans searching for a spiritual awakening, when in fact, we are spiritual beings attempting to cope with a human awakening.  Seeing yourself from the perspective of the spirit within will help you to remember why you came here and what you came here to do.            The Group

Aren't babies just the best! Nothing quite like cuddling a little one to make your day. I just love hearing stories about my friend's grandkids and my niece's  little guy...it will probably be quite a while before I have any of my own, my DD is still single and living at home...

Rita-enjoy the time with your grandson-you must be very excited! Sorry I missed you gals, I got my path report yesterday, all B9 so yeah on that! Incision is healing well, except for a little drainage, nothing a couple of band-aids doesn't fix.

    Have a wonderful day ladies!

People are saying that I am the enemy of just laws, of family ties andold tradition.  These people are telling the truth.  I do not love man-made laws . . . I love the sacred and spiritual kindness which should be the source of every law upon the earth, for kindness is the shadow of God in humans.      Khalil Gibran

People who soar are those who refuse to sit back,
sigh, and wish things would change. They neither complain of their lot nor passively dream of some distant ship coming in. Rather, they visualize in their minds that they are not quitters; they will not allow life's circumstances to push them down and hold them under.

Lago...I am happy today !!!  Last tx was on Friday!!!  The SE's with this one were more than I had anticipated. Typically, I would have tx on Friday, work from home Monday and back at work Tuesday. Some tummy issues, but very manageable if I didn't eat crazy!!!  This one, I didn't sleep Friday night, worked outside in steroid high most if the day Saturday and paid for it Sunday and Monday.  I came back to work today.  My biggest concern, the walk I from the parking lot!   I seriously considered sitting down on the bench just inside the door, then going up to my desk !!!  The fatigue and dizziness have caught me off guard.   I have been very fortunate in this journey, but still so glad that part is over!!!

    Now, on to growing hair!!!!

So happy for you Lakegirl. Give it at least 3-4 weeks and you'll start the road to feeling better. Don't watch your hair grow. It's like watching paint dry. Just take a phone every 1-2 weeks once it starts to grow so  you can see that it really is growing

Understand the difference between "failing,"which each of us does often,
and "being a failure," which is a state of mind no one should ever allow themself to fall into.

Sometimes you get the results you wanted, sometimes you don't. What matters is that you did your best.

Know that your true self, a spiritual being, is always perfect.

    Gratitude is an
attitude that hooks us up to our source of supply.
And the more grateful you are, the closer you become to your maker,
to the architect of the universe, to the spiritual core of your being.

    Jackie,

Your avatar change through me for a loop.  I thought I was on another thread and someone was stealing your show.  I was miffed!

    This your kitty?

I'm sorry doxie.  I've used roses for a long time since they were my Mom's favorite flower.  She had three rosebushes in the back yard --- white, yellow, and red.  When they were in bloom our whole back yard smelled like heaven.

Now and then though, I do switch.  I don't have too many pictures of my cats to share.  So many of my kitties have passed away....but I do have a Picasa section of favorite cat pictures from the Internet. I just thought maybe it was time for a kitty or two.

Glad you were a little upset with the "interloper".  Means you are watching out for me.  Not that anyone ( if they wanted too ) couldn't do what I do.  I do feel honored that it still seems so appreciated.  Have been here since 2007 and still starts my day  in the very best way....sharing with others, hoping to lighten the load or at least make it a bit more tolerable.  It is a gratifying time for me to reach out and touch others as believe it or not.....I'm fairly shy.  In lots of circles I would be a wall-flower. Guess I think even wall-flowers should try to reach out in some way to make a difference.  I recall so long ago when BJ asked me if I would consider finding a quote to start everyone's day out.  Imagine perfection in a sentence.    I am still something of a wall-flower....but a better one than I was.  BJ made it possible, just by asking.

Just for the record.....I'm not that way because I enjoy my own company more --- I just enjoy listening to others, and find joy in how other people express their ideas and the unique sound of the rise and fall of their voice.  Kindness, love, caring, enthusiasm, determinism, faith, honesty, need, valor, strength, stoicism..........there is so much to hear in a sentence someone says.....so I'm a listener most of the time....but in the morning, with a quote that speaks to me, I can speak to everyone here.  It has and continues to be a special time of the day for me.  I'm delighted when someone mentions that they heard the same thing I did in the quote I shared for the day.

See you all first thing in the morning.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

No reason to be sorry!  I loved the roses, but am also a fan of kittens.

I think it is amazing that you have posted such meaningful quotes for so many years.  We are fortunate for that dedication.

I understand where you are coming from with shyness.  I was raised on a farm and was painfully shy for years, well into adulthood.  Shyness is not the entirety of your personality, but it plays a significant part.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Grace is goodness and respect given freely and
unconditionally.  A sense of divine love and protection bestowed on us
when we need strength and renewal.  Grace helps us know we are not alone
and believe we are cared for and cherished.  Grace is a drink of clear,
    clean water in the desert.

What fantastic news Karen !!!  Is this the first grandchild.?  No matter though, all grandchildren are special .  I think it makes YOU feel complete, ( not that you weren't ) in a way that adds some infinity with the continuation of the family you began many yr.'s ago.
So there it is....I'm sort of romantic at heart.  Just very glad for you.  I had been wondering just a day or two ago what you were up to as you had been so quiet.  Good to know all is well and that soon your life will be much sweeter.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

Practice rather than preach.  Make of your life an affirmation, defined by your ideals, not the negation of others.  Dare to the level of your capability, then go beyond to a higher level.

Hello, just saw this thread and thought I would say hi to all the Illinois ladies out there! I am 38, married with a 5 and 6 year old and was just diagnosed in april with invasive ductal cancer. I opted for a lumpectomy (although I am still second guessing myself). Yesterday I did my 3rd of 4 chemo treatments (adriomycin and cytoxin) and am feeling pretty shitty at the moment! After chemo, I will have 8 weeks of radiation, then hopefully this nightmare will be behind me!
