    Hi everyone - I just read a few of the last pages and it made me feel so much better too, as I was dx with IBC at age 43 and with 26/29 lymph positive nodes I thought surely I was a goner, but even tho I got mets 5 years later (a hip and sternum lesions and a few chest wall lymph nodes) and did chemo again, that was 3 years ago now.  I had my surgery in 2005 so being here today is pretty good, eh??  Just got another stable CT in fact so all is good here in northern Canada!  Hugs to all!     I spoke to my chemo nurse, she was 41 year old since day one she told me had DCIS n IDC stage 2 on same breast. She said first she only wish to see her kids finished high school. Ss she lived to see all her kids finished High school,college and some married. Isn't this wonderful!



    And another sweet lady she vulenteer at thelhospital, she was so sweet, always come to talk to me n hug me. She said she was stage 3 of BC, at 44 yrs old. She survived both breast cancer and colon cancer and now she is 74 yrs old . I did asked her what type of tumor, she doesn't remeber anymore, all she remember is stage 3.



    I have hope that I will live at least to see my kids finish high school and college.

    I joined our hospital's Fitness & Wellness Center with my wife. We learned that both my wife's nurse and personal trainer are breast cancer survivors. One of them was diagnosed in 1999 with nodal involvement. They give my wife hope and comfort that you can survive and they show my wife how she can help herself by living as healthy a life as possible.

    Ok, I'm only 5+ years out from grade 3 + 3 positive nodes & I'm doing great, living life to the full, but I have some friends who are over 10 years out. Some were dx at a very young age, in fact all my friends were dx more than 5 years ago and some more than 10. None of them have had recurrences or been dx stage iv. We are all doing well.


    I hope I can say that in another 5 years.


    Just remember that the majority of the ladies on here are either going thro' treatment or have had recurrences. The vast majority of people who had treatment a few years ago are now enjoying life again and rarely come here.

    Coming up to the BIG 5 on Nov 3rd!!!!!!.....I cherish every birthday while those around me complain about turning 40, definitely have a new perspective. Diagnosed at 33 with grade 3 tumour and I am now 38. My kids were 5 and 3 at diagnosis and they are now the kindest, smartest, funniest 11 and 8 year olds I know. I do have the anxieties that we all have but I think about it less and less as time goes on, there are weeks or months on end where I don't have one thought about cancer. I haven't come to these boards in a while because they often scare me and send me back to that dark place, although I do think they are an awesome support and I'm not sure I could have made it through treatment without the wealth of knowledge in this group of wonderful ladies! For those starting treatment this will be you in 5 years!! Hang in there sisters.

    hi, everyone!! Yikes, I can't remember if I have posted here, he,he,he!! I am a 60 year old, nine year survivor of bi- lateral breast cancer with one node positive!! I credit it to very aggressive treatment, a strong faith, wonderful family and friends!!! Also, I love coming here and reading all the wonderful stories!!! Hugs, Kathy. Congratulations, Jilly!!!!     Dear friends, I cannot express to all of you the joy and peace I have this Saturday morning when I found this thread. I still have not finished reading all stories. Thank you for sharing and I truly believe this thread should be 'bumped' every day. This is better than any therapy any neupogen or neulasta! I am still going through TC. Half way through.


    My MIL is a 17 yr survivor from stage 3. Mx and complete lymph node removed back in 1996. She also began having lymph edema the past 7 yrs. She is now 69. Healthy, happy and fully enjoying her life. Please please have all your great journeys filling in here........ Jen

    My friend was diagnosed when she was 23 years old with triple negative, is been 20 years cancer free for her:)

    I have another testimony. I met a friend online. She had triple negative breast cancer stage, the most aggresive kind. She was given a very bad prognosis in the states. She travelled to Germany to do chemo and alternative treatments. Well is been almost 6 years and she is very well. I tell her that she might be cured, since triple negative recurrences after 5 years are rare:)

    Hi Srh242…thanks for asking/doing well. so nice to see this post hanging in ten years later…almost one thousand stories. For me almost eleven years out and truly do not even think about BC anymore. Compared to year one when it never left mind. Every year better than the last. You all are very inspiring in the midst. It takes so much strength to get through but it is entirely doable.
