Carmelle, I needed some cheering up today so started reading survivors stories. So thrilled to see you thriving so many years later. My tears have turned to tears of joy! Thank you for sharing!

I feel like a dope, but what does it mean when someone just says "bump" or "bumping"?

funthing..have known many her+ over the years…aunt diagnosed 2005 was on perception trial doing well…friend diagnosed 2005 age 38 HER+ all of the treatments, surgeries, etc…doing well. Herceptin has been such an important discovery.

andrea…bump is lingo for keeping thread alive and where all can see…not losing. people have been bumping this thread since 2003. i was feeling so down when created. BC.org was much newer. a godsend to me in my remote small town. to find others going through. gave strength,…but i looked and looked for long term stories. you hear them but people need to hear more…offer hope.

2014 makes it 24 years of cancer free survival for me.  I had 6 of 16 positive nodes and a 2 1/2 cm tumor at age 36.   Next year is a silver anniversary for me!  I'm here, alive and planning the next 25 years.

I first came to BCO 11 years ago at the age of 47. I did have a mastectomy one year ago, for a pre- cancerous situation and just didn't want to take any chances. Feeling great and plan on many many more years cancer free. My aunt had breast cancer at 50 and died last year at 87  for other reasons. Her radiation back then was cobalt treatments.
