soriya123....sometimes it is 4 or 5 times a day for me starting about day 5 or 6 and it is the big D.  Taking Imodium and Lomotil.

ladies with the big D. A suggestion if I may? Aquaphore ointment for those parts that get used so much with the D and HURT! Nothing is as corrosive as feces! So use the aqua phone to help prevent the damage that could occur. Ask me how I know......LOL

Hello ladies...went to get fluids today and was disappointed because I thought they would make a huge difference. Not so much...although I cannot express how happy I am not to go thru the big C this time. I am having a lot of bone pain from my shot...never this bad. I took Tylenol and another pain pill but not touching it.

I am glad you SE were less flowergirl...I hope you continue to feel well.

later....starting to feel better maybe it takes a few hours for the fluids?

lovewins, I still had SES they just weren't as bad with the extra fluids. Headaches were not hammering. I was sleepy but could get out of bed. Still had the big D . Still lasted 5 days. Still lost my taste buds. But overall I knew I wasn't AS bad off. Much love. Small SES

Thanks Moonflower you are right I do feel a little better. I wonder if I could drink more water if I could achieve it on my own? Seems like room temp water is more comforting to stomach.

well, I could alway keep up my drinking until the big D hit on day 5. Then I just couldn't get enough down. Cold hot or room temp. I just couldn't face it.

Moon - we're in agreement. Just couldn't get enough down after the first 3 days. Still can't with this new chemo but (knock wood) I haven't had the Big D so I'm not losing everything I put in. Love - if you have the time to get the fluid and it's covered by your insurance, I'd go for it.

Ladies,  Day 10 today after my #6 chemo.   I went grocery shopping for 2 hrs and on my feet cooking n cleaning for a  few more hours.  so later on at night i feet and ankles are so sored and look like a little swollen around my ankles, is that normal?  still sore when I walk.  Thanks Ladies!!!

Sori, swollen ankles can be normal after tx. Is it the first time it has happened? If you poke the area that is swollen do the marks change color back to normal or does your finger leave an impression? Does it get better if you keep your feet up? Those are the things that let you know if that is "normal" swelling or not. The reason to worry about swelling is heart issues and blood clots. Heart problems you will find it hard to breathe, shortness of breath, or feel real funny heart beats or racing beats. Clots you feel pain. Otherwise you can be pretty sure you just over did it. But if in doubt CALL YOUR DOC. Always the best thing to do if you are worried. They have someone to answer you at any hour. Much love.

Moon, i noticed that since my 5th treatment.  I asked my Onc nurse practitioner, she said that normal.  My onc was out of that day. so when i see my onc gain of course i 4got to ask him about cus it went a way until yesterday.  Yes when I put my feet up i feel better, but the swallen is there.  i dont have short of breath so I hope is  not my heart or blood cloth. when u say blood,u mean blood cloth in my heart? thanks moon!

No, with swelling if you would get a clot it's in your leg. If you've had it every tx, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Otherwise it's just your body telling you to slow down. And put your feet up! LOL

sori ya actually walking won't hurt you. Might even help the swelling.

Flowergirl, they make a nose gel that keep it moist. It's a nasal gel that's what they call it. Although Aquaphore works to but it's thicker. Good luck.

I used Aquaphor on a q-tip up each nostril then pinched my nose to rub it around - sorry for the TMI. I also put Aquaphor (I should have bought stock in Aquaphor, lol!) underneath and at the edges of my eyes at night.

I think the crusty nose is a Herceptin SE. I had it throughout the year of Herceptin, not just during chemo.
