Thats ok ChickaD! We all get fooled sometimes. Its great we have everybody on here to cover our backs. So thx grandmaV!

ok so. Another infusion of Mag. Ugh. I was so hoping to have it high enough so MO wont put me back on the mag oxcide next week. So PA said up to 4 slo mag a day. Thats the same number of tablets I was taking before I tried cutting them. So I take the same number of pills BUT I dont have the D issues. Was it worth it??? YES!!!!!! Ill take down the MO if he tries to change me back. LOL

Flowrgirl, I SOOO know about the D. Please continue to stay hydrated. I asked for a large bag of saline every time after we figured it out. I made sure the bag emptied every time. It helps. I also ended up in the hospital because of dehydration so it is important. Take the lomotil. Dont try to tough it out on immodium it isnt strong enough. And you CANNOT drink enough to make it up. And you pribably csnt stsnd drinking more whdn you have D. It seems to work that way.

    Much love to all.

Thanks Moonflower.  It made such a difference I think I will ask for it every time if this continues.  I sure don't want to end up in the hospital.  :(

FlowerGirl - I agree with Moon. I have them give me 2 (two) liters of fluid every session - one before & one after the chemo drugs. They were resistant at first, but it's my time sitting there and it really helped the dehydration. I also went back every week between sessions for another liter of fluid.

    Hi ChikaD and GrandmaV

I would like to say you ladies are both great to have on the discussion board.

One of the greatest things about this site is how in the main people support each other and don't criticize each other.

There is building up here, no tearing down. I didn't know how to broach the subject without unintentionally starting a war. And I am a peace loving person.

I love the way you ladies shared information and took care of a potential problem. What an amazing example you have both set for the rest of us.

    Thank you.

Keep on sharing - keep on caring.

I just wanted to share that I took a liter before and after each tx and then another liter when I was there the next day for Neulasta. The chemo nurses always said I could come back anytime for another liter if I felt like I needed it. I was very sick after 5 and went in and it helped!

    Hello,

I found out today . I start 10/25 on TCH. It will be on TCH week 1, H only week 2 and 3 and then TCH again until I complete 6 cycles and then continue H weekly until a year is complete. Neulasta after TCH. I also realized this isn't a weekly one time thing, but day prior, day of drugs and day after.

Had my class today, learned everything you guys already taught me. (except for how it's done at this location) Was given a book about eating through different symptoms and SE's and 2 prescriptions for Nausea. Only supplement allowed and actually ordered is Vit D. Nothing else. I was told tylenol for pain (especially if platelets low). But for bone pain/joints she said tyl wouldn't work and advil would be ok.

She told me the RN's would tell me about claritin and dose for advil...etc on day 1.

treatment 3 day 6. this one snuck up on me. still house ridden. the big C has caused big H. nurse said milk of magnesia which has got to be one of the worse things created. hard to keep down, miralax is doing nothing but I continue to take it. drinking ensure my saving grace....took 2 senekot a couple of hours ago...my last hope. nothing tastes good and I really hate that part. makes it worse. ok thanks for listening to me complain. only you girls would understand how sick I am of feeling sick!

    Lovewins,

Sorry to hear, that is a major pain in the @$$......

Try Activia yogurt. First thing every morning followed by glass of water. Have this before anything else. I had C because of Iron pills and I took colace, but still had issues...I started Activia 2 weeks ago with 2 in the am for 3 days then 1 in morning and sometimes one later. I have had no problems at all. I asked my MO about activia and chemo and was told it was great to have.

As for the H... Get some epsom salts about 2 teaspoons in a cup, put enough hot water to dissolve. Once it cools soak a gauze pad and apply to the H at bedtime and by morning should be better, If you have to get up then reapply. I learned this last childbirth. They used magnesium sulfate same as epsom salts, very fast results.

I wish you a speedy recovery

Lovewins, I had major constipation after tx 1. I tried everything (Miralax, prunes, Smooth Move laxative tea) and think I finally resorted to a couple doses of some kind of exlax type of laxative just to clear the jam. After that I started taking Benefiber 2 days before each tx and continued with it until I was finished taking the nausea meds, which were constipating for me. It didn't totally stop the constipation but made it much easier to deal with and it only lasted for a day or so. For the hemorrhoids I had to get a prescription suppository because none of the OTC things worked at all. It really is a matter of trial and error to find what works best for you.

ok. Sigh. ANOTHER MAGNESIUM infusion. Ugh. Went to MO for my 3 month visit. Everything ok exvept mag level. Seems the new Slo mag isnt keeping up. But my gastric symptoms are just so much better. Only 3 days of D in 3 werks instead of 18. I was afraid he'd put me back on the oxcide but he said come back in 2 weeks to check level. So yay. Lets hope I catch up. Cause I am enjoying leavng the house without too much worry.

Tonlee, has it budged at all? Not even a couple of points? And are you coping ok?

Oh, and viji? Yep play on words is my thing.... LOL
