Just had my laugh for the day.  Misread Jo's post the first time (my eye's need a little work).  Thought she wrote swing them did not see word arm.  Wondered what she might be swinging!

Sorry, I am new to this and haven't seen the oncologist yet.  The pathology when my lump was removed did indicate positive for estrogen and for progesterone, and HER2new posiitive, grade 2, IDC, 3 lymph nodes none positive.  What will that mean as far as tamoxifen and the usual recommendation?   Also, does this oncotyping tell you more than that?

alowen2 - Welcome.  Now that you do have a pathology report, you will be able to sit down with you ONC and come up with a treatment plan. Being triple positive may mean chemo - not sure since I was not triple positive.  You will most likely take tamoxifen once chemo (?) and radiation is over.  As far as the oncotype test goies, my MO did not do that particular test.  I know others here have had it done and they will chime in and give you more information.  Best of luck to you in your treatment and post here often.  Ask all the questions you need to.  We are all here for you.

    Hi ladies,

I don't like the new board layout - are y'all getting used to it?  My son just left today for his 12-week internship so I'm really down in the dumps.  We worked so hard to get everything packed - 2 big bags and a carry-on.  I just got some flowers delivered from him for Mother's Day with a sweet note, but I'm sure I'll be crying tomorrow anyway.  I was crying off and on all night last night while we were packing, but in between my tears I was telling him to have a good time, learn a lot and do a good job.  Then it will be all worth it.  haha, then I said Don't Screw Up! His birthday is coming up this week so I'm going to write that on his card, too.  My fibromyalgia is really flared up right now, too, from the last few days of hard work trying to get him ready to go.  Hopefully, in a few days I'll feel more like myself and maybe actually get something done around here.  I really want to get some things organized so I'm going to try to be productive while he's gone.  But for now, my heart and body are hurting...

I hope everyone has a really nice Mother's Day!  All of you deserve that and so much more! <3

Tink, just another thought: tamoxifen is most likely to do a great job in preventing recurrence, or at worst may delay recurrence and you would still have chemo available to you IF you ever needed it. Some types of chemo have a lifetime maximum dose, so those would also still be available to you. So I would not worry about whether you are doing al you need to do-you DEFINITELY are!

Happy Mothers Day to all who are mothers.

JoJo - yes, you are right! My son called a little while ago and I do feel better. Although he was so self-conscious having a roommate that he wouldn't even tell me his name in case the guy thought we were talking about him. So I jokingly started guessing - Ryan? Matthew? Daniel? Yes, I can be annoying :)  The "time" part is always hard, but what can we do but wait. I hope your family starts waiting on you for the rest of the day, like you deserve!

The house is so quiet now, so I'm going to go talk to the parakeet. Seriously, haha. He is in my son's room and I know he's lonely so I guess I'll stop in and visit him every day. He is quite elderly so I don't want him to get depressed.

Tink - last time I was on here my son saw your picture and said you were cute. So hey, hey! You still got it, baby! Wink

Happy Mothers' Day to all of you special ladies.  May you all be treated like queens and spoiled rotten!

Welcome alowen2! The Onotype is a test done on your actual tumor to give the onc a better idea of how aggressive your specific tumor was and the estimated chance of local & distant recurrence. I wasnt triple positive but ER/PR+ and my score was 13 (considered low so no chemo)....

Jojo - June is right - you are a beautiful woman. May you enjoy your cuppa and some peace & quiet on Mothers' Day...

I will be doing everything I always do on Sundays just like any other day as I try to avoid the whole Mothers' Day thing. This is my third one without my own mother and I just don't know that it ever gets easier. So for those who are lucky enough to be able to, hug your moms tomorrow.

Oh Odie so sorry to hear you are without yours, hugs my friend as I will be in the same spot in June as I will be missing my Dad and on the 18th of June marks his 1 year.  How the heck will I get through that one I ask.  Sometimes I get so sick and tired of being strong.  Anyone else feel this way?

Paula gosh how I love you.....that one made me LMAO and my family thinks I am whacked laughing at my computer.

Heartnsoul....Tink is a beauty isn't she?  So young and sweet but we all know she has that TinkerTUDE going on, especially in the pocket parties we all have......lol, love ya Tink.

Jo my friend I could never hurt you and I know you feel left out from all the NON  whacking that is going around.  But you are much too fragile to hurt.  I am going to take it out on my buddy PAULA......watch out girlie here I come.......you better hide as I called Tink and we are on our way!!!!!

alowen2-welcome to our thread  even though I really hate that you have to join us.  Being Her2+ you will probably have to have Herceptin which I think has to be given with chemo.  Not for sure about that since I was negative.  You might want to check on the Her2+ threads and see what the gals have to say there.

Worked in my garden today and I got really sunburned on my shoulders.  Guess I need to get the sunscreen out for the rest of the summer.  We had my mother and MIL and FIL over for dinner tonight for Mother's day.  Told DH I want to go to the movies tomorrow.  Not sure what we will see.  I won't get to see my boys as they live too far away.   Happy Mother's day to all you lovely tammi sister's.

Thanks for the info on the oncotyping, I guess I will have to see what the onc (I like that, sounds like the sound an alien pig would make!).  I think I am afraid to ask this, but what's with all the pillows and whacking?

Happy Mothers Day to you all!!  I was thinking that we need to have a SISTA DAY!!  Not a day in October, but a day we all can celebrate us and our bond that links us together.  Not that Im against the month of October, its just that we need a day just for all that have been effected by cancer.  I know its an everyday kinda day, but I just would like a day that all the women who have gone thru this can have a day just for that!

alowen the pillow fights and such are just one of our crazy little ways of dealing with all this.  It really has gotten me thru some blue moments and a plus is no stuffing to clean up.  Join in anytime.  I know that if you do and you end up lol while reading and peeps are around they will think your off your rocker.  My family has given me some strange looks and want to know whats so funny.  They just wouldnt get it if I told them.

alowen - The pillow fights are just our way of having some fun and seeing something positive in all the BC crap.  I for one try to find the humor in anything negative.  It helps me keep my sanity.  I can't join in right now cuz I have a drain left.  But watch out when I am healed.

Paula - I love the idea of a sista day!!  Now we just have to decide what day that will be.

Paula I think a sista day would be perfect.......why don't you start a thread and make one up, that sounds like a plan.

Alowen I know it seems pretty silly but it is soooo much fun being the recipient of a whack and as Paula said it is always good to LOL and I do it often here and it makes a gloomy day that much better.  But if I were you, watch out for the oh so sweet Paula......she is a doozy!

Happy Mothers day to all whom are a Mom and enjoy this special time with your family and friends.....Love you all!

Jo, a little more awake this morning. I knew about the pillow fights. I was just putting swinging in the context of all the talk about breasts on this sight and somehow my mind made the funny leap - that is why I was laughing.  Some days I think I am loosing my mind as it is so crazy.  Wasn't thinking about swinging pillows.

Alowen - believe oncotype skews your score towards doing chemo when her2+.

Feel for you ladies missing loved ones today.  My dad was not supposed to make it through the winter, but he did and I am greatful as know it would have been hard to do BC and grieving at same time.  Also will be an empty nester come September and I am going to miss them as I have always worked from home so I could spend more time with them.

thanks ladies for all the feedback.  I figured it was the Tamoxifen but its always nice to hear from others.  I just had my bloodwork done and my TSH level was a little high 3.6 which make me hypothyroid, urgh.......I've been fluctuating levels, during chemo it was .77 but before that it was 3.13.  Anyone else out there dealing with this?  I just don't want to take more meds but.......I also don't want to ever be doin chemo and surgeries!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all, there is nothing more special that a mothers luv
