Jo...sooo sorry to hear that you have been feeling so poorly.  Damn that drain!  Do you think he will take it out tomorrow?  Is it not putting out very much....like my PS's wife.....?

I'll be there for your pocket party and hoping that you get back to your spunky self real soon.  Take care, Jo.

Jo you betcha a pocket party is in order and we will all stay away from the eye candy so you can enjoy him all by yourself.

As for the yeast infections when I first started on Tamox I had two really bad ones back to back.  First used a vaginal cream from my gyno second time I had to do the diflucan.  My MO upped my accidophilus.  I have not had any more problems.  I think the first infection came two to three months after I started tamox.

For the periods I went from pre-menopausal to post menopausal in 6 months.  I was going to a endocrinologist because I knew I had an extremely low testosterone level so he was checking me every 6 months. I guess the plus of having really low testosterone is that he told me I won't have the post menopausal facial hair.

Paula - OMG!  I think I feel better already.  That is some real nice eye candy.  Do I have to share?  LOL!

1openheart - The damn drain is not coming out tomorrow.  Still way too much drainage.  I just don't understand and I am hoping for answers.   I seem to get quite a bit overnight and very little during the day when I am working and running around.

I will update everyone when I get back.

You ladies are the best.  I don't know what I would do without you.

    Hugs & Kisses

Jo, I will be in your pocket tomorrow!!!!  Hang in there, my friend.... am so sorry you are still draining and in pain.  Are you medicating? I know none of us WANTS to take pain meds, but if you are hurting, please take care of yourself.  This IS temporary, but OMG, 4 weeks is a LONG time... have you been praying for patience?  If so, STOP!! (that was some advice a good friend gave me some years ago... he said I was sent challenges to demonstrate that I actually HAD patience, so I have ceased praying for that one!).

I lost 25 pounds between initial diagnosis nearly 2 years ago, and just could not gain it back.  On tamoxifen, I got down to 82 pounds - off of it for 9 weeks now, and have gained 10 pounds back!  I am still needing about 14 hours of rest/sleep a day, but the 10 hours I am up I now have a little more energy and am getting a few things accomplished! So openheart1, it takes more than a few days to get out of your system.

This might belong in the hot flashes thread, but it also applies here, I think.  I started having menopause symptoms about 5 years before first diagnosis; chemo was slightly worse, then tamoxifen just about killed me with the sweats/chills/mood/etc etc etc.  Personally, I think it very unfair to have to deal with these symptoms for over 7 years!!!  Yell  So I asked my mom about her experience, and she says she just doesn't remember having much problem... she probably had a few hot flashes but not the every-hour-on-the-hour drenching sweats with near-syncope (fainting).... life just ain't fair! (not that I think she should suffer, but I sure wish I had those genes!).  And if men had to deal with these symptoms, more research $$$$ would be put into finding causes and cures!!! OK, thanks for letting me vent a bit here.

Paula, I just admire the way you continue to support our sisters with eye candy every time they need it!

And to all the rest of you, sorry I missed the pillow party this weekend.  Have had a difficult week, but have made a commitment to get back to yoga - and have also made time to attend a face-to-face support group for the past 6 weeks which I found helpful. Each day brings challenges, each day brings moments of grace.  Thank you for bringing moments of grace to me today.

JoJo and alowen a pocket party is for anytime you have an appointment and we come along virtually for support.  So anytime you need someone to be there just post away.  Some gals bring snacks and such.  It sure does help for calming the nerves knowing you have a support team right there with you.

Linda I understand about the hot flashes.  My mom never had them and she just gets a good giggle when I am having them.  I can't hide them because I still get red faced when one hits.  I know that menopause was gonna come one day, but Im only in my forties and this isn't fair.  Its not that I was wanting more kiddos, I just wasn't ready to be thrown into it.

    Jumping in the pockets Jo!!

Have a fab day my Tammo sistas!  Love and light to you all!

Linda I cannot believe you got down to 82 lbs.  You must be a smaller woman height wise.  I am glad you are doing Yoga, I wish I could find the time as it is so good for you.  I have been walking and trying to do at least 3 miles 5 times a week and I just got back to my morning walk and there is nothing better than getting up at 5:00 and enjoying the outdoors while all is quiet.

Jo jumping in your pockets and bringing the booze.....it's five o'clock somewhere!  Love ya my beautiful lady and praying they take that darn drain out before you kill someone.....I know if it were me I would be crazy by now.

    Happy hump day ladies!

June - I am about ready to kill someone.  It is bad when I wake up in the morning and see the amount of drainage I have had overnight and burst into tears.  The levels are down during the day which I can't figure out. I would think it would be just the opposite.

I have shorts on with many pockets so there should be room for everyone.

I will bring the first round of drinks.  Snacks are welcome!!

I wish I could chime in, but with the hysterectomy 5mos after I started (fibroid was my SE), the brickwall was menopause and I hit it full force!!!

I can however chime in on the aches....UGH!!!! I feel like an old lady. Given that and the thin gray hair, 19 yrs til i can get Sr. discount, but they just throw it in now :/  Weigh gain not a problem. I don't feel like eating, holding steady at 116-119.  Nope, doc is NOT very happy about that, but as long as I don't loose anymore. BIG se.... I can't get rid of my old clothes because I'm afraid they'll fit next year!!!

Sweetie, I hope you feel better!!! Effexor helped with my hot flashes and night sweats, that is until the weather changed, but to be expected!!!

Jo I'll be in your pocket today.  That nasty drain just has to go.  Keep your chin up, things have to get better.

Paula my mom went through menopause in her early 40's and went fast and no SE's.  With my bloodwork recently I found out I also went through fast but this dang tamoxifen has me having hot flashes.  Now that I am back on it.  Seems like every day they get just a little worse, but at least they are not bothering me too terrible at night and I have been able to sleep without the lunesta. I usually wake up about 5am with a hotflash, I may just start getting up and doing my walking in the morning like June instead of the evening when it is hot here in Texas.

LInda dang girl you did loose alot of weight.  How tall are you? Momx3 you lost too!  I also lost 30 pounds and DH thought I was way too skinny, I finally gained back 5 lbs and am holding at 113-116 and I do think I look healthier.  I am 5'3"  I went shopping for a swim suit last night and bought a bikini.  I have not worn one in about 10 years due to weight gain and did not think I looked good in one anymore. So now that I am going to be 50 next month and post menopausal why the heck not.  I think I look pretty good in one. Now if I will just be brave enough to wear it.Embarassed

Linda I also had a preacher friend of mine tell me to quitt praying for patience too.  haha  And good for you getting back into Yoga.  I have stuck with my yoga through out all this and I think it has helped me keep my sanity and I think it has really helped me in healing physically.

Joane woohoo on the all clear!!!!!!!!!!!! we love those reports

Sherry, I'm trying to find a suit but I need one that doesn't hit the "wrong" spots. I went A-B on my recon and I have alot of areas that hurt if something goes across the wrong way. I need a tankeenie that has a straight top and DOES NOT snug at my stomach!!! LOL
