I mostly get muscle pain at night.  Pain in all the old injuries I ever had.  Knee & heel surgeries, shoulder from car accident, etc.  Try to just take it as it comes.  I guess some of this might have come with menopause, but it certainly has arrived sooner with tamox.

I have a question for you gals...anyone experience dizziness on the T?  I've been on it for about 3 months now and I've had all the usual se's until about a week ago and this started. It seems to be worse at night when it's dark in my room...any thoughts?

Yes on the dizziness and the " strange feelings" The dizziness was so bad when I first started they had to do a CT scan it turned out ok, and the " strange feeling" I cant really put it into words but its is almost a " surreal" feeling if that makes any sense at all. Not so much now but when I first started , I would get these feelings almost like things were going in slow motion for a few seconds. And, also it is would be hard to visually focus on things, Splitting the dose into a.m. and p.m. doses did seem to take the edge off and help!

Oh Tink I feel for you.  Been getting mine every 80-90 days.  Heaviness and pain just get worse, insomnia too.  Watch if pain gets a lot worse.  I have an ovarian cyst that they are keeping an eye on.  Should have it checked out if it persists could be that.

Dizzy.  At the beginning and a few days before I get my period. Also a weird feeling, but I mostly put it down to only sleeping 1-3 hours a night.  These have become my warning that it is not quite gone yet.

Hi my Sistas!!  It's been a long weekend here.  Enjoyed it but not ready to go back to work, UGH!  I hope you all have had a decent weekend.  Vicki thats a bummer that you have those dang drains over the holiday.  I think its funny how showering is different depending on your doctor.  My sissy couldn't shower when she had hers, but my doctor told me I could.

I have had alot of my aches and pains come and go.  They arent as bad as they once were.  I do still have days that my hips and legs hurt, but for the most part its ok.

I kinda had a mini melt down at Bergners today and feel like a total idiot.  I love maxi dresses and found one I just had to have. Well I tried it on and since I have franken foobies now the scars showed to much in it.  I couldn't get it because of that.  Then I found another one and went to try it on.  But because I have put on so much weight it looked awful.  I have never really been all that into my body image until now, and that really sucks.   I'm just sick and tired of this damn BC having such a big part of my world, grrrrrr.  Well long story short I did end up finding one I liked and it fit.

Oh the stange feelings I have sometimes.  Its like I'm here but just abit out of it.  I still haven't had a period since Feb 2011.  I dont know if I ever will again.  Not having the painters visit has been the only positive to this.

Well all have a great night!  I'm off to dream land early tonight.  Love and light to you all!!!!

Sandee missed you while you were gone.  Glad you had a great trip, I saw your pics on FB and it looks like you had an amazing time.  And yep my world has changed yet again, but feeling much better with the BMX and my healing and reconstruction is going great.  I have not felt this good since before diagnosis.  Back doing yoga and trying to gain strength in those pec muscle but PS says that will take some time but wants me back doing my thing.  So glad your alignment is finally back together and you are feeling so much better.  Our bodies do talk to us if we will just listen.

Mods thanks so much for fixing that pesky pop up we were getting.

Had a long weekend with my youngest son and family and played with my grandbabies.  Boy are twins tiring.  Not to mention my kids are night owls.  Yesterday afternoon I finally crashed and had to take a two hour nap as they were having a Memorial Day party and I knew there was not way I was going to make it otherwise.  I already miss my grandbabies.

I had the muscle aches at first but they did finally go away.  However I have had joint pain come and go in different joints that have been awefull.  Someone mention do these last when you get off.  I took a 6 week brake for surgery and all my SE went away.  Now that I am back on it the hotflashes have continued to get worse but some of the SE's I had before I have not expereinced this time around.

Paula glad you found a dress.  I just love the maxi dresses and have found several here lately that I have bought.  They are so comfy and I can wear them to work.

Paula so glad you found a maxi dress, I really need to find one as I loved them years and years ago and I am so glad they are back.

Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend.

I went to the Doctors yesterday for blood work as I kid you not I am up 18 pounds since last summer and no matter what I do, it just keeps creeping higher and higher.  Wish me luck that whatever this is that it is treatable.....gosh this BC shit just keeps coming and coming and coming......argh!

June, we actualy almost need one place we can write!!!! LOL

Anyways, what you said about the BC keeps coming...... Where does it end??? It almost feels like it has forever changed us, even if it is for the good, for the bad too. I keep hoping that with all this happening right now, that when we get older, except for the aches and pains, we will live a LONG life!!!

June:  I know what you mean about the weight.  Each day I do 45 minutes on the treadmill plus 20-30 minutes of Pilates, yet I still resemble Humpty DumptyYell

Now the latest thing is my stomach is giving me issues.  There are no specific foods that trigger it, but my stomach either burns or gives me a pain like someone has kicked me.  I suppose I should go to the doctor.  I have to go back for an ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if that danged cyst is still on my ovary and if it is, I'll have to have that removed so I'd like to get through one health issue before I start another one!

Sometimes I think it would just be easier to throw the Tamox out the window!  BC...the gift that keeps on giving Frown

Sandee - welcome back! I'm sure you had a great time in China, sounds like it would be amazing. Thanks for stressing the Osteopath - sounds like what I need, so I'm going to look around Atlanta and see if one is near me. Oddly enough, as big as Atlanta is, we don't seem to have a lot of naturopathic doctors. A chiropractor didn't do it for me, nor a massage, so I'm going to try an Osteopath.

Vivi - Hey Atlanta sister! My doctor wanted to put me on an AI, but I chose Tamoxifen because my 76 year-old mother took it for 5 years and she's doing well. Plus, I was worried about stripping my body of ALL estrogen. Tamoxifen doesn't work that way, but, of course, it comes with it's own little set of problems. Mostly for me it's general body pain. Also, it's actually GOOD for your bones if you're post-menopausal. And I don't trust new drugs anymore - I liked Tamoxifen's 25-year history. All we can do is try to take one of these drugs as long as we can stand it, and then try another. Maybe if we can add it all up to a total of 5 years, then we can consider it done!

I have heard if you take Tamoxifen for 2 years, then you've gotten 80% of its value out of it. For everyone who is miserable that might be worth asking your MO about. My mother is a tough old cookie, a tough act to follow. I don't know if I'll be able to stick it out like she did, but the younger you are the more important it is to stick with it. She's in her 80's now - I took her to our mutual MO a few weeks ago and she still has a clean bill of health, but even if it came back it would not be as aggressive as it is for younger women.

I just discovered that this thread somehow came up missing on my favorites.  That is why I have not been here in awhile.  I have no idea how that happened.  Of course, a lot of weird things happened when everything on the website was changed.

I am so far behind, I am just going to start here.

I have been doing well since my recon surgery.  All the drains are gone and the swelling is coming down every day.  It really felt like I had a rock under my arm for some time.  In spite of having 2 surgeries and one drain for 5 weeks, I still am loving the results and would do it again in a heartbeat.  I have a follow up with my PS on Monday.  We have a little revision work to do and he can do that in the office.

The Monday after that, I have my 6 month MO appt.  Not even giving that a second thought.

I hope everyone is doing well.  For those waiting for test results, crossing fingers for B9 results.  For those hurting or not doing well - (((HUGS))).

    Tink - HIIIIIII!!!

Jo, welcome back; been wondering where you were.  Glad your recon makes you happy.  Good to see you.  Money mouth

Well, drain is out and it looks like there is a little infection, so, I smeared a bunch of neosporin on it and re-taped the gauze; will check in the am.  Going to call my BS and see about getting a release for work, at least part time for a couple of weeks before full time.  I start chemo next Fri and that way I would have the following week to figure out how I'm going to handle it all.

    Paula - Paula - WHACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!

vickilind - Glad to hear your drain is out but bummer on the infection.  I hope it is not too bad.  Maybe some antibiotics are in order?  You can never be too safe you know.  Going back to work even if it is part time is a good way to move forward in this journey.  I know I was back to work full time 10 days after my lumpectomy.  I could have taken more time off but at that time, I really needed to be around people instead of climbing the walls at home.

Jo, I still have some antibiotics from the drain, so I will take them tomorrow too.  Just hoping that the neosporin will clear it upm but if it isn't better in the am, I will call the PS or the BS and see what they say.  I am climbing the walls now; it's been three weeks since the mx and the only reason I didn't try sooner is because my PS said no work or showers while you still have the drain in!?

vickilind - My PS also said no showers while the drains were in but I did not listen.  I took advise from ladies on another thread that had the same surgery - I had LD flap/no implant.  DH would cut a piece of Press & Seal plastic wrap and would tape it over the drain site with waterproof tape.  Then I would tie the drains up with string around my neck and take a shower.  I never had water in there and would make sure I cleaned the sites well and used neosporin on a clean dressing everyday.  I ended up having my last drain for 5 weeks.  I can't imagine washing up for that long.  I was back to work 10 days after my surgery with the drains.

Jo-Whack, whack everyone needs to catch up with you

I have my 6 month eye doctor appt today.  I think my MO is over kill on me seeing my eye doctor but he says while on Tamox I have to see him every six months to check for cataracts.  The good thing is my girlfriend is going with me and we are having lunch and going shopping.

My hotflashes have returned with a vengance.  Had to lower my A/C last night and I did sleep a little better.  Had to start turning my fan on on my desk again.  Not liking it at all.  But the strangest thing is the last week I have been so weepy and I do not cry easily.  I am not depressed just things hit me and I want to cry.  Not emotional in other ways.  What's up with that.  I think it may be the tamox.

Sherry, funny you should that. I was just thinking that everytime we (PCP & I) get my meds and symptoms in check, they seemed to come UNCHECK :/ Hotflashes, moody/teary (alot), sleepless nights and exhaustion (hmm, wonder why that is) along with aches and pains of a 90 yrs old. I think the drs. think I'm crazy.... NOPE, just FRUSTRATED!!!!

As for the eye dr. My Opt sent me to a retinal spec too for the same reason, but he says not to worry, see you 6 mos.  LOL

Sherry - I am finding everyday that doctors do so many things differently.  My MO never said anything about having eye exams while on Tamox.  I probably should go anyway, I need new glasses but just can't afford that expense right now.  Have fun at lunch and shopping. Oh BTW!  I owe you one -  WHACKKKKKKKK!!!!
