    Brenda -

I hear you!  I had my second TC on Thursday followed by Neulasta on Friday and the aches are starting to settle in.  Not sure I can handle four more of these.  AGGGHHHH.

    Valerie -

I have a bucket o'Vicodin and am hoping it helps with the aches.  It was almost unbearable last time - so bad I couldn't sleep.  I keep putting on my ruby slippers and telling myself it's only temporary...it's only temporary.....

Hi. Do you recall your staging # and Oncotypoe score#? I start T & C on Wednesday. You are a very positive person and I'm sure that helps when we're dealt these cards.

YOU CAN ALL DO THIS!  YES YOU CAN MAKE 6 TX'S!    I did it and if I could do it you can too!

I really didnt think I was gonna make it.  I had terrible SE's and was so sick.  But I made it.

Please remember to tell your Drs. EVERYTHING!  Write it down so that you dont forget.  They can tweak your meds.  Keep a journal just for SE's.  If you are in pain get pain killers.  If you are puking get whatever will work to help you stop.  Remember tell them EVERYTHING!

I am routing for all of you!

    Much Love Deb

Thanks Deb. It's #3 for me this coming Wednesday. I've had a really good week but it'll be back down the rabbit hole again ... I know I can make it through #6 and I think your advice is really really important - tell your docs everything!

Valerie...You're more than welcome!  I had 4 AC and 4 TC  and it's all of matter of taking it one day at a time and having the support of these amazing women who understood every ache, pain and SE that came my way.  Family is loving and supportive...but no one can understand what all of this feels like unless they've been there!   ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) janet

I finished T/C x 4 mid-September and I'm cheering you all on too!  I'm 13 tx's into rads so far. Still getting my strength back after chemo.  Had no stamina initially, but last week I was able to jog a slow 5 miles - so the strength is coming back.   And my scalp is getting darker with new growth.  Hang in there ladies - before you know it, you'll be on your way too!

Just wanted to mention that I had IV Aloxi before my T/C transfusions and it worked great for me.  I've read that Zofran and Aloxi are considered to be pretty much interchangeable, but for some people one works better than the other.  I wanted to mention it in case trying Aloxi might be the trick for anyone having trouble with nausea.   I didn't have any trouble with nausea - sluggish digestion during week 1 yes, but nausea no.

    Wishing everyone minimal SEs!

Chris thanks for the note on Aloxi.  I start TC Nov 9(?) and am asking about that.  I have pills for at home naseau, but I AM SCARED!!! I made a note to ask the doc tom about Aloxi.  I also see the surgeon about getting my port tom.  I'm glad you are doing well.  Elizabeth

I get an anti-nausea med injected into the IV when I have chemo. I think it's Aloxi but I'm not sure. I know that if she pushes it too fast it burns like %$&^#. I have Compozine to take every 6 hours as needed after. I does give me a sort of dull, thudding headache though. I'm so sorry some of you are having so much trouble w/ nausea. I do get it, but not to the point of throwing up and staying on top of it w/ Compozine or ginger ale and crackers, seems to do the trick. My biggest problems are pain and fatigue ... we'll see how #3 goes on Wednesday. Looks like I've had about 10 days of semi-normalcy this cycle.

I have a hair question -- I'm bald in most places and have about 1/16 of an inch of hair on the top of my head. It's definitely dead, not growing, just sort of sitting there hanging on... it comes out with just a little tug. It's itchy. Should I just take it all off w/ a razor at this point? Has anyone done that?

    Hang in everyone ...

Lottie - some women have used lint roller tape or even duct tape to take off the loose hairs.  I imagine duct tape would be pretty sticky, but some have used it.

Thank you Chris. I'm thinking about packing tape -- more tug than the lint roller, less sticky than duct tape.

Hi Lottie a razor is not a good idea b/c of nicks to the scalp and possible infection. people recommend a buzzer w/ a #1 inch cover on so the blade does not hit your scalp unprotected. Good luck! Baldy Valerie

Hi Ladies!  I too am here cheering you on!!  I finished TC Feb. 13, 2009.  If you are having nausea please tell your Onc.  You should not be having any troubles with this.  I took Kytril and had no problems.

Hang in there everyone!  We know how difficult this part of the journey is.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I know this is probably "goofy" but I wrote this poem while in the midst of chemo... I just want you ladies to know that there are sooooo many gals out there that are rooting you on!!!!

    New friends...

That I would not even recognize if I met on the street.

Many are plodding along feeling the same way

    on any given day....

They care and it's to them my soul I bare.

They know where I've been because they've been there too ...

We try to lift each other up, but let each other be blue.

    Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry;

and often we just wonder why...

and then there comes another person that we can encourage

or just lend an ear, a "newbie" who is full of fear.

Sisters of breast cancer, each others burdens we bear.

New friends, good friends, to my eye brings a tear.

    Janet, the poem is beautiful.

I feel really good today, went to get my WBC checked and it has been super charged.  I can go back to work.

I hope all goes well for everyone getting treatment this week.

Hi everyone! My last TC is Wednesday and it can't come fast enough!!! Bring it on!! I've never been more excited to be poisoned. HA.

Here's my two cents on anti-nausea drugs. Aloxi and Zofran are from the same drug family and gave me awful migraines to the point where I need migraine medication and my Dr. threatened to send me for a brain scan. That was round #1. Since then, only EMEND. No nausea, no headaches.

revricki, congrats for your last TC.  I have 3 more to go.  I know you are excited.  I am glad you are being able to control you nausea, fortunately I didn't have any of that with my first tx, but I know it could hit  with any treatment.
