Congratulations Kitty, a JOB you wanted - wow! Fantastic - the start of all good things - fingers crossed for a low ( low, low) Oncotype for you too...

THE ONCO SCORE IS IN! A BIG FAT ZERO!!!! I could hardly believe it and asked for the nurse to repeat it. I was stunned and so very happy. Now for tomorrow's mammosite placement I'm READY! Bring it on! Kitty0

Kitty ... good deal!
Now switching back to the topic of this thread for a few minutes ...
Why, why, WHY would an insurance agent feel it was appropriate to give me the "You do have Christ in your life" speech during a meeting to process my application for the High Risk Pool for my state??
Grrrrr! If those of us that are agnostic or atheist "witnessed" as much as Christians I wonder how well that would be received!

Kitty, what wonderful news! I'm so happy for you.
PlantLover, geez. I would have been fuming by the time I got out of there...and I bet you were.

PlantLover, If the guy is working for the state, shouldn't there be something about a separation of church and state? He has no business telling you that if he works for the state! What a moron the guy is! Kitty

River-Rat, I wonder what he would of said if you said no I'm a Scientologist, Muslim, Jewish, Wiccan, or just plain old none ya!? IDK, SMH!0

through very gritted teeth, I'd try to think "he means well" before I punched him out I've faced that, I guess we all have, mostly when someone jsut doesn't seem to know what to say to "comfort" us. Thankfully, I live in the northeast - and it's not as likely - as it was in MD.
I can't wait to say "thank you, but I"m a Pastafarian."

Hi Everyone!
Had my first mammosite treatment today in the AM and second one 6 hours later. The first one took longer with setup, WAITING (ugh), CT scan, but it went pretty fast once I was all hooked up (7 minutes). Then met with the ONC and he has put me on Arimidex for the next month to see how it goes. Also had a blood test for thyroid, the CT scan found a multinodular goiter. Doc didn't seem too worried but just wanted to check it out. US scan tomorrow for that too. Afternoon session went easy, in and out. Back again tomorrow so I'll let you know how things go. Hope everyone is doing well Kitty

Hello all!
Sunflowers, I am giggling at the prospect of saying, "I'm a Pastafarian."
Kitty, I'm glad to hear that your first mammosite treatment went well, although long. I hope that you do well on Armidex too. I had half my thyroid removed after something showed up on a PET scan, and was questionable upon biopsy, and things turned out well. I have an US scan of the other side every year and have had several needle biopsies and it's not my favorite thing, but not too bad either.

Here is my favorite joke, to brighten up your day: "A dislexic, agnostic and insomniac stays awake at night, wondering if there is a Dog"

Scaredin.... I love your joke, really funny!!!
Hello all, havent posted in ages, as only seem to have been capable of dealing with games and such-like and only contributed to those threads..sometimes that kind of mindless activity is all one can do......Ten days ago I finished my last Taxotere and am OVER THE MOON.. not through with SEs yet, particularly my taste buds which are still shot, but at least things should get better. Op scheduled for 5 October, but might be a week earlier.
Robyn, what a coincidence, I also come from Rabat, and in fact am now living in a town within walking distance of it (Mdina).
Kitty hope things are going well with you.
Robyn, amazing coincidence, I am also from Rabat, and in fact now live in the the next town, Mdina!

Great joke Tatiana!
Day 3 of mammosite rads went well! Only 2 more days to go. I'm a little scared for Friday cause that is when they will take it out. OUCH! I think I'll take some vicodine about an hour before I go. Don't worry, I won't drive. Recruited my son as designated driver. Kitty

Hello everyone! I have completely finished chemo with the last taxotere last week. I think they must have wacked in a good dose as I have been pretty well out fix the count since- aches and pains and I feel about 82!! ( I am 47). To celebrate I bought myself a ticket to the global atheist convention being held here in melbourne in April next year. A whole weekend of wonderful speakers and interesting people from all over the world. I only hope that Christopher hitchens will be well enough to attend.
Congratulations Maria on your last chemo!
Kitty - so glad for you about the new job and it seems that you are just sailing through your rads!!
Scaredin - I love a good joke- here's one for you!
A man sees a boy with a box of kittens the man goes over and says "oh what cute kittens!" the boy replies "yes they are Christian kittens". About a week later the man sees the boy again with the same batch of kittens. once again he walks over and says "my, those are just adorable!" the boy replies "yes, they are atheist kittens" the man asks "wait, weren't they christian before?" the boy looks at the man and says " yeah but they have their eyes open now"
Have a great weekend! Robyn!0 -
Hurray for last chemos! It's such a good feeling to walk out of there knowing that you don't have to go back for another one. And then of course you realize that you still have to get through the side effects from that one ... ugh. But this time when you get to feeling better it won't have to start all over again. Hang in there ... you are coming to the end of the tunnel.
Kitty glad to hear you will be done today too ... hope you took the Vicodin and getting that thing removed does not hurt.
Sending hugs out to all the east coasters ... Irene is looking scary. Just a tornado warning for a few hours freaks me out and it must be awful to wait and watch and wonder for days. Hope it blows back out in the ocean and misses everybody!
