I discovered I LOVE yoghurt on veggies. We use it on baked potatoes, peas, in soups. I don't care for it with fruit.

AH, CLC, now THAT IS REAL YOGURT!  ;-)))  I was thinking of the plastic pots full of stuff in supermarkets called "super natural good for you with whatever" yogurt.  Especially those with the cutsey natural names, tho owned by HUGE French conglomerates...

I am using a lot of coconut milk - liking it a lot.

Garden, Our raspberries are so good, they are eaten plain. Might go with rhubarb tho. I'm not much of a fruit lover. DH is and keeps serving it to me. Good for me lol.

I love raspberries plain, too.  :)  I love 'em with anything, to be honest.

My current decadent kick is crystalized ginger slices coated in dark chocolate! Found in bulk at Whole Foods!

Crystalized ginger - yummy, also at Trader Joe's - I bought some dried mango and "crystaized it" for myself...

You can "add" stuff, sometimes a little cinnamon works for me - or powdered ginger - for extra zip.

Find it hard to find dried fruits without SULFATES/sulfur ( which my stomach really doesn't like)- but LOVE them so much.

Bought a dehydrator - mostly use it to dry apples.

I do my own crystalized ginger - easy peasy - found the directions on the internet...  :)  I haven't tried doing mangos yet.

I had a dehydrator for years and years and never used it, so I sold it in a garage sale a couple of years ago.  Now.... wish I had it back.

Our yard is planted with a ton of fruit trees (thx to DH). We dry the fruit and reconstitute it later for pies. Never tried to crystalize anything.

Ladies, you are inspiring to take out my dehydrator and start using it again this summer.  Has anyone dehydrated string beans?  I wonder what they would be like.

Notself, I don't have a dehydrator, but I've strung string beans on thread and hung them to dry and they're wonderful.

Thanks. Next Spring, I'll try the dehydrator.  I love Blue Lake beans and it's wonderful to have them in stew during the Winter.  Freezing works but I want to try dried.

Hello all, haven't come on in ages, and see that this thread has been pretty quiet, so I'd like to wish you all season's greetings. I don't see why we can't enjoy these celebrations despite the fact that this is the atheist thread! So wishing you all the best, enjoy a calm and tranquil day tomorrow with family and friends, and a healthy and happy 2013, xxx

Great essay except for the premise suggesting that atheism has a moral high ground over religion because we have only this life.  People regardless of religion or no religion either live moral lives or don't.

The important point made is that atheists/agnostics are starting to speak up again (like they did 100 years ago) not in an effort to "convert" anyone but in an effort to let other non believers know they are not alone.  http://abcnews.go.com/WN/atheist-ministers-leading-faithful/story?id=12004359

    Hi, all,

just reading the paper now ( hard copy) - my favorite Sunday activity.  It isn't delivered where I live, so we have t drive to the store to pick it up.  Always a copy waiting for me, with my name in the corner .  Love living in a small community.

Happy, healthy, HEALTHY, HEALTHY, peace filled 2013 to us all....
