Hi again. I have been dealing with two broken ankles and life in a wheelchair as I couldn't put any weight on my feet and had casts. It happened back in New Hampshire and I had surgery on my right ankle .I was in rehab in Vermont. After a month they let me fly home to San Diego if I continued the anticlot shots and had 3 seats across to keep my feet up. So 3 more months of non weight bearing. Then I started PT and now after 6 months I am vertical and hobbling along. Joined a gym so I can walk in the pool. I was so happy to see the days begin to get longer. Up and at em.

The key is to get a style that will support the ankle bone as much as possible. Red would be a good color for you.

Lisa, I had to wear an ankle brace that wrapped around much like the sneaker. Not as pretty though. Upside was that a pair of boots that had never been comfortable fit better with the brace because it kept my foot pushed back in the shoe. Now I need to get one for the other foot so they're both comfortable.

I know when I was growing up we had a bomb shelter build underground behind our house. It was great for teen agers so Mom and Dad didn't hear our noise ( or know what we were doing) Good thing we were good kids..

Lisa - I am sorry about your ankle. We had back yard bomb shelters in No. Cal too. When/if I ever get to San Diego, I hope to meet you. It's on my bucket list.
