Lisa thanks for the flag, reminder.
My DH is an old-Navy man, my SIL#1 is Air Force & SIL#2 is Navy..... so suddenly we have lots of branches represented around the table.
I am in awe of the work that they have all contributed to our sense of security.
Hope that everyone is having a great weekend.
Sheila, can't wait till ya figure out how to post your pictures!!!

It's time to kick up the birthday party extrava-ganza wagon train.
We have more celebrating to get underway!!!!
I saw an announcement on FB that our Charmaine is having a birthday on Thursday.
She gets to choose the theme & until we hear from her anything goes!!!!
Plus we have tomorrow's "hump" day to get us in the mood.
Here's a t-shirt for you to wear while you consider the choices at hand.
You get to be the Queen-of-the-Beach this week:

Elaine. Welcome home, welcome back to the beach.
Where it is eternally sunny.
There's always a gentle breeze.
Someone's always in the background refilling your drink.
We're always here to tell you how great you look.
Occasionally we slide down to the water's edge for some sort of yoga class taught by Zeek the Greek with the rippling muscles and retire to our fresh pineapple slices afterwards.
Glad to have you back in our midst.
You've been on my heart & in my prayers.

sigh boy do I need that ... copied from another thread and sorry to be the downer but this is where I have been....
Hi all...I have not yet prperly read all the past pages but will do so later to be really caught up. I am now back. Crappy few months...short version: In January after taking daughter back to college, my not so (d)h announced that for the past 8-10 yrs he has not been in love with me (but cares deeply) and did not want to be married. Five yrs ago he started an affair (yes the children and I know who she is) which they want to continue more openly to see where it goes. She has been ok with the fact that he was not unattached, he does not see any need for a divorce (not looking to remarry) but they want to be boyfriend/girlfriend (I feel like I am back in 6th grade). Told the children last night after getting home from son's college grad...I wanted to wait until both were home, we could do face to face, wait until dd finished 1st yr of college and ds finished last yr.
nope not too sure of plan although I did cancel plans and arrangements for 25th anniversary party. First was to try to understand what was happening, why it happened etc, there was no clue or warning nothing, Then it was how and what to tell the children and then waiting for them to be all home. We will separate instead of divorce (for now) since there are issues and needs I have... against my better judgment I agreed to try to share the house at least for the short term. I suppose there will be short and long term solutions and goals. As long as I do not have to see or interact with him very much I will be ok, I really do not want to be around him and don't really have anything to say to him. I plan to do what I need and want to that will take care of me (and children)...he is on his own and I believe he will quickly realize what a huge mistake he has made, but he made his decisions and choices..made it very clear that there is nothing for us to work out and doesn't want to anyway. I do not know how the children will be..so far both are stunned and overwhelmed and in shock. They are old enough to make their own decisions about the relationship with their dad (I keep my own thoughts to myself).
Its is a new adventure for me and after all the years of putting everyone first, and waiting for him to get home so we could go and do things...I have moved ME up to the top of the priority list and am trying to be grown up about it all. I can not control his bad behavior and choices, but I CAN control how I react and behave. The rest I am making up as I go.
The house is a disaster zone - one room has all of son's things coming into the house, another two rooms have things being packed up for daughter's move this week into college apartment, AND her things for a summer of coaching at gymnastics camp. husband has moved most stuff into the office and I guess I will want to take my things out og that room and set up space in my new large all mine master bedroom. This may fill my house work quota for the next year!!.
Hoping everyone is well, pain free, stress free, and enjoying good weather....Elaine

Elaine. Thanks for bringing the beach-combers up-to-date as well.
I appreciate your bringing your ENTIRE fan-club into the loop.
We all want to support you in every way that we can.
Too bad we're strung out across the globe & not across the street.
Sending hugs!!!!
Just clocked off FB at I see that our Charmaine is having not only her birthday today, but it is her 50th!!! She even made a video where she lights a sparkler and thanks all for their support thru this BC journey. How amazing is that?
So send your birthday greetings, I bet she finds them sooner or later!

Trying an experiment with her video.
Since she's a "new" beachie-friend, this will help introduce her to you ol' timers.

See if you can get it to work!

Quiet times on the beach.
I think that means everyone's off in their cabana hut, lazing about with a big smile.
It is officially summer now for me, as yesterday was my last school visit of the school year. It was a spectacular day as I was with very mature appreciative kindergartners. The teachers have used my books & the kids knew every syllable of my songs. It was such a great way to end the year.
Anyhow. I'm up and ready for the new season.
Started out on FB and went to leave a message for our dear ol' friend Curliques. Curlie girl has a new profile picture that she herself took. I have snatched it here to share with all of our beachie crew. I warned her that I was going to do so. I know that we have many appreciators of photographs. This one is just breath-taking on so many levels.
Happy summer.
I know that Curlie does not think of herself as a photographer. Speaking for myself...... I know that when I 'accidently' captured the butterfly sitting on that amazing sunflower that is my avatar picture -- I suddenly became absolutely addicted to photography. I hope that this does the same thing for our Curlie-girl & that she be rewarded with lots of great shots in the future.
