LIFES A BEACH!

We have arrived safely at Shargrala, our peninsula-paradise.
Here's our first sundown of the season:
I spent the entire day on the beach and read "Promises to Keep" written about the journey of our BCO sister Heidi_Ho by the New York Times bestselling author and her best friend, Jane Green.
It was cathartic on so many levels. I read it from cover-to-cover.
The biking will begin with the sunrise.

Stunning photo! Have a nice ride, breathing in deeply-yahoo!

Wow, Faith. I remember the vigil for Heidi-Ho. It's been what, nine months? Another inspiring woman.
I found this beach at a pool the weekend.

Howdie beachie kids.
We got the bikes out, tires filled and off we went for a warm-up ride. My hubby came with me because he knows I'm so prone to "over-doing" things.
We pre-determined that we would just ride back and forth and forth and back on our very own road, as it is the flattest spot around. I am so humbled.
We road a total of 7.5 miles without the slightest of incline. That was plenty for me in perfect upper 60 degree weather with no humidity and no wind. (Might has well have been on a stationary bike.) He's attempting to convince me that this is a beginning.
I suppose.
A very, very humble beginning. At this rate I don't know if I'll be able to make it across our penninsula to Lake MI until next week?? We're flying to Auburn Univ on Fri & I speak on Sat. I get to be the keynote, so I have to pace myself for that event.
In any case, it is a thrill to be back. We went to a couple of galleries yesterday & I'm VERY grateful to see all of the new work.

Meece I wanna see your teeny thumb-nail avatar pic big enough to see your smile!!
Ever onward.
I just set up my little porch-studio, so it's time to get to "work."

Very Funny, Barbe. Yes I have breasts and until you mentioned it, I didn't notice how much that picture accentuated them. They are works in progress.
The shells were strickly because the woman who had the pool landscaped loved their form. She has a small wading pool on the property where she took abalone shells and put them along the edge in the form of Lotus Blossoms. I will try to find a pic of that.
Faith, If I blow up the pic you will see all the crows feet and wrinkles, this way I can somewhat appear to be a youthful 47!

Beautiful pic Meece and I too love your Avatar picture!!!! It's so good to put face with a name!!

Says Coonie, with an avatar of critters......
I think we've had about 3 pics of our Cooniest character in the last two years.
LOL

Girls, let's behave, or I will have to separate you. I don't care who started it, I am going to end it! (Just thought I'd bring back memories of childhood for you.)
Here is the wading pool, my batteries were giving up, and the tour was moving ahead, so I took the best pics I could under such stressful conditions!

Here's the view from just a hop south of our Sister Bay.
This is the view from a quaint little village called Ephraim.
Ephraim is the Moravian word for "Faith."

Faith...do you have any foothills or is it all flat?
0 -
Lisa.
It depends if you're on a bike or in a car.
LOL.
When I'm on my bike, they can feel like mountains.
In a car, it seems mostly flat to rolling.
Perspective, a funny thing.
At water's edge it's mostly flat, but there's a very real climb into the middle of the penninsula, from water's edge. It's gonna take me a while to manage the middle. One day at a time. Today was a start: 7.5 miles on the flatest of the flats. We're having a big storm right now, so I wonder if I'll ride tomorrow??? I need to go out early before it gets too warm.
I've learned how to get where I want, by taking the fewest hills.

funny how big hills look and feel when we are on our bikes, or even walking...
it is a beautiful spot...how nice you can see sunsets there over the water, how about
sunrises??

We were in Bayside, north of you last year...

Gorgeous Lisa...and...I haven't been there! lol
Meece, were the shells to keep things IN the pool or things OUT of the pool?

Barbe, Bayside WI is closer to you than to me..

oh how I want to be there, small town, beautiful lakes, pinds, pools, water and PEACE. I really have to figure out a way to get to the place of my dreams!.

Last summer I was part of a two day a week yoga class up here & I love the instructor. She is 63 and built like a petite brick house. Solid. Like you can't imagine solid. She's a 5 year BC survivor.
Anyhow, I didn't think I was up to the level of the class & so I stopped by at the end this morning and have set up with her to have private sessions. We will start a week from today. We ended up talking for about half an hour. She will be my therapist, coach, yogi-guru, personal trainer & sounding board.
Her knowledge of the body, mind and spirit is amazing. I already feel better, just having spoken with her. As I told her of the last five months of my journey, she said, "If you'll excuse my French, Life is just so fu*king relentless, isn't it?"
My heart leapt with joy to have such an apt description. She will be brilliant for my mind & body!! I am so thrilled to tap into her level of expertise and insight.
I rode about 10 miles this morning, still on the flat-aways, just going in big circles where there is no incline to exhaust me. I thought of another flat spot, behind the park and did a loop thru there.
teenie-weenie bit of progress..............

It's amazing to see the impact that we can have.
Enjoy this day!!
We leave tomorrow for Alabama. I get to give the keynote address on Saturday. So have quite a few details to attend to before then. LOL. Enjoy the beach till I get back, full time.
