Sahalie - Glad you are feeling better today. I enjoyed your memory lane story of mom and dad and the comfort zone of a mom.

I am honored to design our 7-4 water ski outfits if I can find waterproof pink sequin, pink feathers, and lots of Bling!

Neesie - Are you still sweating from this heat? We spent most of the day at pool side. Sorry to hear you lost your father early too. Did your mother ever remarry? Thank you for sharing your mom stories with us. I admire you and Iris for all that you do for your mom/parents.

Funny what you said about giving a key to my 5:00AM day care arrivals. I do encourage them to lay back down but I stay up since I have more arrivals on the way plus it is a good time for me to get things done before the chaos begins. LOL

Margo - Send the Wine Train to the beach and you can teach us that dice gameWink

Iris - What a sweet gift from your friends - can't wait to see a picture. No contest on winning a Mustang at the walk - I should of just drove it home to see if anyone noticed it missing.

Faith - Enjoy date night! Sarah and little grands will do just fine. No big plans here WingMan has to work. I am going to enjoy my ME time.

Amy - Your mother the roofer - too funny.

Susan - Happy you are enjoying your fulltime work. I enjoy mine too just not the fulltime part....haha

FPDebbie - Thinking of you........hope you are enjoying a tall iced lemonade.

     Hello,beach,bco and bear buddies,

I am sharing my hugaghan with one of my bearlykin friends...Bearypossible. She is responsible for the vacuuming and it is very possible that it may/may not get done! LOL

Today was a very emotionally-charged day and this wonderful hugaghan really came at a grand time! This was the 40th anniversary of my high schl graduation commencement exercises! It was on a Friday night(1968) two days after Bobby Kennedy's death and abt six weeks after Dr. King's death. What a year it was in our history;also, we were engaged in the Vietnam Conflict.

Hello to Bren,Wings...thank you ever so much! The gift is so wonderful and what a treasure! Your kind words are very appreciated! Hope both of you had good days and cooler temps...Jeep had 110 as I drove to PO this aft.

That pool sounds awesome,Wings! Wings, that car has your name written all over it and yes, driving off would have been the thing--it just matched you to a T! I just saw your cool, pink headpiece the other day---way cool! I love that as I wore those to school on holidays. The kids loved those and I do,too. I love the stickers and glitter and crafts-except the clean-up time! Tongue out

Sahalie... love the swimsuits and my mother/I had Jantzen suits.Wow! I had not thought of those suits in so long...thanks! I pretended I was Esther Williams(non-swimming one...) many days. Babaloo and lots of entertainment sounds great! Bring on all the water skiiers as it looks like Cypress Gardens from days gone by.

Margo...that is interesting abt Bunco as I have seen the game and wondered exactly how it was played...thanks for explaining it. It sounds like you had a fun evening out with friends. What kind of activities do you have planned for the weekend? I want you to know I went to hunt for the TJ's today and did not take a map! Duh! So,I will go back...I just wanted some of those chips and flowers...oh,well! Need to get a GPS system like yours as I have no sense-of-direction in towns where I don't go often. I was going to tell you how fun it was shopping...oh,well!

Neesie...you always look petite and the words and the screen...everything is on BlackBerry. I always blame the mistakes on the small screen...sounds good even if not true. Crazy heat is keeping me inside and eating my red delic MI apples...better than ice cream(better for me,I mean). You must hv awesome ones there so near the orchards. I am coming and bringing friends and we can pick apples together...then make applesauce...or better yet,go to groc store like I do. Ha!

faith...wow,I am so sorry abt the attempted break-in. It was certainly annoying and I am glad no one was injured. What a shame that things have changed in so many ways to some. After surviving a yr(notice the picture

Footprints...hope that your visit went well today. Sahalie has such neat things that she expressed and I just add that I am glad that you visit here. Hope that it was a good visit and many questions and/or concerns were answered/discussed. Take care!

Amy...thinking of you and the water skiing as you and your sisters must have had fun. So many people went to Centre or Guntersville when I was little and Gadsen, too, for water skiing. I think that this is going to be a long, hot summer if these are the temps for the summer.

Susan...hi to you and do not work too hard. Hope that the job goes well and that you and the lovely little one are well. I think little Buffy is one of the most beautiful dogs that I have ever "cyber"seen. Happy Weekending!!

    Jaz...calling loudly...MISS YOU!

Hi girls, went to see Iron Man last night.  Liked it better than Indiana Jones.

Iris, glad that you got a hugagan.   Great pic of you being covered in love and it's beautiful.  Get yourself a GPS - Costco has them right now for $200 or less and I know mine was a lot more last year.  Since we take hubby's car all the time, he has the GPS but my iPhone has directions on it that work pretty well - doesn't your BB give you directions?  Nothing planned for the weekend - have a presentation to work on for work so will do that this weekend and Jacob has an all stars game tomorrow so will do that.

    Bren, good to see you.

Sahalie, is it as windy where you are?  Today looks like it will be beautiful but hope there is no wind.

Wings, bunco takes 5 minutes to learn but it is a lot of fun.  If we ever meet, I'll teach you how to play.

I think the majority of the country has some major weather issues today - those on the east coast and south have the heat and those in the midwest are expecting thunder, hail, and tornadoes.  Keep safe everyone.

Iris:  You look wonderful in that picture.  Im so glad you received an afghan.  Nothing like receiving a gift of love from so many.  We graduated the same year.  Didnt really think about 40 years - my gosh - until you mentioned it.

Margo:  Im opening my pool today, thunderstorms or not!

Sorry about the post below.  Im having problems with my computer from the storms last night and accidently posted twice.

    Good Morning beach loverlies,

I hope all are rested from the barbecue at Fernando's last evening.

Sign up forms are ready to be filled out for the July 4th extravaganza.

Margaret, We are having some winds at night and slight breezes during the day.

Temps staying around 79/80 the last few days.

South of us friends say the winds are stronger.

The bunco game sounds like a boat load of fun.

Thanks for explaining how the game and festivities play out.

Faith,  Wow, I'm relieved to know the perp wasn't able to get into the house.

Still, the actual fact someone tried is extremely unnerving to say the least.

Are you enjoying being home and relaxing getting ready for all you upcoming adventures?

Each event sounds like so much fun.

How is Sarah doing while you are away?

Are you calling each other a trillion times daily?

I bet WB misses you much.

Footsdearone,  Please check in on the beach and let us know you found good answers and a kind, educated soul to help you.

Wings,  How is the weekend going?

That car does look like you should "own" it. You look so cute together.

A Hybrid is the key but they are mucho bookos.

Still.  I dream.  One day I shall buy.

YOU WILL MAKE OUR COSTUMES!  ALRIGHT!

Yes, on the sparkels, Yes on the bling, Yes on the feathers.

Don't give water proof a second thought as we will be flying through the air of the ocean with the greatest of ease and if we should fall we have the beach boys, cabana boys and of course our ever present beach patrol who will most eagerly fan us off.

    Note: You are the best.

Ames, What up this fine Saturday? How is baby goat.  Fuzzy and cute I expect.

And Mom.  I love your Mom.

Any woman her age who gets up on the roof to fix things herself is one amazing Mama.

Jasmine, Jasmine, Jas, Jaz, jazz, J.   ?

Time for me to shake a leg and get moving.

Has everyone signed up for July 4th?

    No pressure of course.

I would like to at this time say to our friends who have had recent surgeries and difficult times how much we think of them and send heartfelt get well soon wishes and so wish they could be here with us on this beautiful serene beach.

Get well feeling good soon distant beach loverlies!

I see a mimosa with my name on it.

Adios amigos and see you in our flip flops.

Sahalie...I am right there with you and cooling in off in that wonderful water.Pls forgive me as I saw the mother/daughter pic on BlackBerry and it is much diff than in real time. I know you thought I was insane/well,you are right...that is a lovely pic of whomever and it is much too old for you. The colors are not always same on the sm screen. Thanks for the kind words as you always know what to say and bring for fun. Hope you are cooler than we are...although,I am hidden away w/the a/c...it looks hot out there! I think a mimosa would be just the thing. That is the most beautiful tree as well. Those are really the thing around the hometown in Alabama(univ where I went for a few yrs). So,the drink and the tree...what great memories!

Margo...hey to you! I am not familiar with the movie that you mentioned and will go read abt it. It sounds like you had a good Friday evening and fun. Funny that you mentioned the Costco as my neighbor said she wanted to go and has a membership there. She said their gasoline prices were much cheaper, too. I will see if the GPS is available when I go. We have a new store not far from us. The parking lot is handier than that huge Sam's Club as their stores are always so crowded and people moving way too fast  for me.

Hello to everyone and happy Sat on the Beach!Anyone want to travel back in time to the year:1968...June?

How neat is this??? We are on page 68 of the Beach Thread! Too cool....

Best memory of the grad night...diploma and butterscotch sundae at the DQ

and singing that song by Keith...98.6 my version: hey,98.6 it's getting time to graduate...anyone else remember those oldies? Sitting on the Dock of the Bay...Otis Redding was very popular and Jan and Dean...Surfing songs...

    Shoes( some wore):

    Dresses(many wore)

Got us a transistor radio...still got mine, too that won't play! LOL

How abt a '68 Mustang??? What do you think,Wings? Margo, you think Joe might want one,maybe...since they are cyberly free, maybe?

Hi girls,  went to get some ribs hubby could smoke since it is so nice outside.  Please keep hubby in your thoughts on Monday - he had a biopsy the other day for a bump on his ear and the results came back yesterday for cancer.  He goes back on Monday to see the doctor to discuss what will happen.

    Nicki, did you go swimming?

Sahalie, it is beautiful outside now.  Joe is tearing down the front fence and rebuilding - been putting it off too long.

Iris, Iron Man has Robert Downey Jr. in it.  I like him as much as I like Johnny  Depp.  He plays the owner of a weapons manufacturer who gets heart.  My local Costco doesn't sell gas but sometimes I do go to the one that does.  Usually my local Arco is cheaper than Costco though.

My day today - my presentation for work and laundry - yuck.

Date-night. Friday night. Moving-picture-show: Indy Jones -- from Margo's suggestion.

OK. So I'm sitting there in the dark w/DH and there's quite a few "bugs" on screen (don't want to spoil anything for anyone) and I feel like they are seriously crawling on ME! I think that it must be the newest state-of-the-art 3D empathy-techno-itchies, morphing from the speakers?? I just want to scratch like crazy!

The movie's over and I take a pit stop and there in my reflection.....my ENTIRE neck is COVERED with blothces!! Craziest thing. I think the cynematic bugs have psychic-ly attacted??

After a very thourough review of my last couple of days, I suddenly remember that when I stopped thru my house earlier this week, DH had surprised me & planted new hostas in my hosta garden..... and I had spent approx. 3 whole minutes and pulled some intruders. Apparently that was enough exposure to "green" to have my hyper-ghosty skin go wack-doodle. Wonder if it will clear up in time for Aruba? Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily.........

Sahalie: How is Leonard's pest control service for the creeping crud? I'd like to get on his calendar pronto pronto. Does he make in-land house calls on Sundays? Bet his shack is closed for the day, it's after 5:00. **Oh and I'm willing to take a really splashy role in the water-skiing extravaganza.

Margo: Serious hugs for your DH, as they develop a plan. Played bunko a hundred years ago -- and remember having such a BLAST. Kinda like Yahtzee on speed? The best part of course would be the eating and yakking.

Iris: What an incredible afghan from the community..... to keep you warm the whole year round!! Congrats on your lovely memory sharing of graduation. Those were the wild years ! The sixties. Of course I was still an innocent child in many respects during those turbulent times. LOL. Reading of your memories makes me remember how emotional a time it was in our history.

Wings: At your memory prompting, I started a thread about my incredible "blessings scarf" here under "inspirational stories" at the very bottom of the listings. I invite everybody over there to see what turned into an incredible prayer-shawl. I see nEEsie & sahalie already found it on their own!

nEEsie: I've been meaning and meaning to thank you for telling me about your grand-daughter sharing my book with her little brother. I can just picture it in my mind. If you can ever recreate that scene and manufacture a picture of the two of them, I would LOVE to have you send it to me.

I've been thinking of starting a blog on my website and that would be an awesome pic to include. Does anyone know anything about starting a blog? Having learned to post pictures here is the inspiration for this thought.

Jaz: You were the one to get me onto this skill and now you've taken off with Leonard's cousin on the ski-doo and we can't find your forwarding address?? Please contact the beach post office at your earliest convenience. [Third grass hut past Captain Jack's tiki bar.]

Footie: please stop thru tonight's beachside bonfire and get us up-to-date on the progress made toward understanding, insight, and wellness. I'm with everyone here, hoping that you find some brilliant one w/good supportive, listening skills.

Amy: thinking of you in the heat. My goofy hotflashes have been taking on a life of their own and completely outta control with the thermostat going up. Hoping that your side effects are managable in the summer's blast-fire.

I had a teacher that met me 2 months ago at a conference, drive quite a distance to come to today's library gig. She bought a copy of my book for a little girl with special needs in her classroom who's fallen in love with the song-in-sign. She told me the dearest story of the girl "signing" at home & mom attempting to understand, as she has minimal minimal language. The teacher had her class "perform" my song for graduation -- and it finally made sense to this mom, who sat there in tears the whole time.

I am soooooo fortunate to get to continue my "work." I am soooo fortunate to have teacher's take my ideas and share with so many.

Thanks for letting me chat on and on. See ya'all at the bonfire.

    xx00xx00xx00xx00xx

So Sarah managed her first 23 hour solo flight. Yesterday when I was getting ready to leave she started having an anxiety attack of sorts..... we had a heart-to-heart. She is hypo-glycemic and has been known to get very very faint with little warning, due to the low sugar. She's very "worried" about being here w/the 3 little peeps and having it crash out. Understandable. Scott called the other night and his AFB was the hit by the tornados..... lost a lot of roofs, but he was fine. (Just adding to her list of concerns, tho.)

Thank heavens that since their birth she hasn't had any episodes. You'd think nursing would make her 'more' unpredictable, but somehow the angels have kept her better regulated. So while everyone is going thru all of their beach prayers, please add that detail in when thinking of me.

Please order a cyber-mustang for me. My uncle had a 68 that was cherry red and made quite an impression on me at the time. Da coolest.

I'm here..........just not to ambitious today!  Like........no ambition........just ran up (ya, right...I drove up) to a local pizza place who are having $2.99 pizza's for the week...........just what I needed...............sure did taste good though!

Margo........Joe will be at the top of my list and I'm sure everyone else's..Make sure and let us know what is decided.  DH has had a couple things like that cut out...........one behind ear and one on back of neck.  Every so often the neck one would leak and stink to high heavens..........forgot what the Doc called them.............I'm sure Joe will be fine.

Faith..........So glad Sarah managed with the 'wee' crew..........It's got to be a challenge and I'm sure she will do just fine.  Glad you had a good time on date night..........minus the creepy crawley's on the neck!

How scary for your folks with the attempted invasion............I shouldn't call it 'attempted' as someone trying to get in is an invasion....glad they were stopped.

Sahalie..........You really want me to put on a swim suit and climb on top of some people balancing on two sticks and being pulled by a boat??!!  We might win the big prize on 'funniest videos!'

Iris....Dear Iris............I am soooooo glad that you received a hugaghan! You do so many nice things for sooooo many people...between that and your troubles of late..........ENJOY...........that's why we make them!  To bring a smile to faces..............and speaking of faces.....love the pic of you and the bright smile on your face!!!! I'll have to go back and look and see if I can find one of my squares and let you know which one is mine.....I just mailed Liz some, so not sure if One is in there or not!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!  Of course I was just a 'wee tot' back then..........(if you believe that, we need to talk!) but those were the days when fun usually was good clean fun..........something alot of kids today will never get to experience.........ashame how things have changed.

The weather here is HOT.............I think DH is having Hot Flashes...the air is on and he's got all the ceiling fans turned on too!  He's got a case of the blahs today also...........actually, he worries me some....wifes intuition..just don't think all is right with him..

Our bathroom countertop has arrived!  I think it is going to look great in the bathroom................DH has to take the old one off and we have no idea how good it is on there..................may be heading back to Home Depot for a new vanity if he bashes it taking it off!  I thought that Mr. perpetual movement would surely have it on today..............but he hasn't even started it yet!

Well today was soooooooooooo not productive for me........hoping for some drive tomorrow........much to late today to worry about it!!

Sorry..........I'm sure I've missed something, but the mind only retains so much!

    Neesie

p.s.  Faith....will try to capture the book and Grands moment for you!

Iris - Loved the picture of you wrapped in a big bear hugaghan from your friends. Thanks for sharing your mementos. That 68 Mustang is sweet looking. Mine was a used 69 - no convertible and it was a rust color with a black top. I still have my eyes on the black and pink.

Margo - Best wishes for DH on Monday. My DD was just showing me a bump on the back of her ear told her to have it checked. My DH also has a GPS - problem is the screen is so small he has a hard time seeing it - but he takes it everywhere even on our motorcycle.

Sahalie - I hear ya on the Hybird - wish I could afford one. My 97 Blazer (must have a 4x4 living in the sticks) still runs, is paid for and gets me to where I have to go. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Faith - I am hopping over to see the blessed scarf thread.

Neesie - Good luck on the bathroom project.

OMG Margo.  (Finally calling you Margo)

I hope with all positive thoughts and prayers that Joe's ear bump is benign and can be frozen off.

Is it a skin cancer bump that he just found?

Men's ears are so vulnerable to the sun.

Faith, Sarah feels just as I did when my dh went back to work when our babes were born.

I hated being separated from him and got big anxiety at the time.

I also had hypoglycemic something or other as out of the blue with my third babe, one day I got very dizzy, nauseated and had to lay down.

I had every test available and no definitive diagnosis.

It went away after about a year.

I hope Sarah doesn't have any anxiety episodes while she is on her own with the three little beach babes.

Well, WB is a big beach babe.

    I'm rambling, please forgive.

    *

I just got home from the farm where it was a bit windy but hot and I loved it.

We deep soaked all the new Redwood trees and had a picnic lunch in one of the older groves.

Doggies running in every direction, Rooster "don't mess with me" keeping his hairy eyelid on his hens.

He is such a grand provider and safe keeper.

The new geese we have are getting huge and some give out their new "Honks" which is so adorable.

Like I said to Ames, I could sit and watch all our farm family for hours.

The hens are fat, Rooster is so gorgeous with the long tail feathers every color of autumn leaves.

    The duck are hysterical.

Surprisingly the dogs leave them all alone.

The corn, tomato's, beans, pumpkins and peppers are all in and everything is looking good except can't see the pumpkins yet.

We ran over to OSH and bought some new long hoses and tools that needed replacing.

No sales tax there today.  Nice.

Every stinking gas station was low price of $4.79 per gal.

    Criminal.  Blatant robbery.

I'm with you Wings about buying a new anything just yet.

I'm free and clear with my chariot, it's comfortable and has AC so I'm happy.

Neesie, I think you and I must have had an out of body change over today.

The last week I was pep-less. No energy. Hum drum.

Dragging my toes in the sand.  Cupboards were bare but I had no energy to go shopping.

    Today.  Voila'

Energy plus and I didn't even drink a Red Bull.

I never drink those just my coffee in the AM.

Drove my chariot over to Whole Lotta Food for Your Money and did a whoppin shoppin.

Cupboards are good for a week I would say.

Even bought some items for the farm.

Came home, unloaded groceries, got my little side kick pooch and took the back roads of serenity to my farm.

    Loved it.

I hope you get your pep N' step back pronto.

    Congrats on the bathroom redo.

Faith, How about a bath with Aveeno in the water.

That stuff should help the itches and spots.

I'm headed down the path towards the beach and gonna take a hammock break.

    Laters.

    XOXO

Hi Beach Friends, I am thankful for each time I see someone cares. I have not got all the tests back, But I talk to the tech and ask him some questions, He told me I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis. I see the cancer dr the 11 and he told me if I want a second Dr to go ahead. I will go the 11 and then check in somewhere else. I a kinda down with the cancer, Arthritis, Lymphedema and now this. That is why I get so tired. I am going to go take a power nap and I'll be fine . Be back soon , Love ya all, Debbie

    {{{{{{Footprintsangel}}}}}}

    Thank you for checking in.

I looked up the Hashimotos Thyroiditis on google and read where it can be under control and regulated with a daily pill after you being tested to get the correct dosage.

A yearly checkup to keep your levels correct.

You will probably feel so amazingly better, more energy etc.

and that will help the other things going on too.

Having more energy is something I've read here at BCO that we all crave to have back.

I'm off to take a power nap too.

I'll probably never get to sleep later tonight.

I'm so happy you checked in.

Iris, my first car was a 65 mustang.....loved that car.

Faith, if you haven't seen Iron Man, see that one.  I liked it better than Indy Jones.  You do have to see Indy on the big screen though.

Neesie, thanks for the good wishes.  I'm sure he will be fine, he's actually taking it quite well.

Wings, glad DD is checking it out.  Joe said he thought he had a pimple but then it started hurting and he couldn't sleep on it.  I saw my first GPS on a motorcycle today.  I'm with you on the new cars - mine is paid for and I only have to fill it up every two or three weeks.

Sahalie, I think it is squamos cell carcinoma.  Joe didn't know, he forgot to ask but will on Monday.  Your gas is higher than ours.  My Arco is $4.23.  I have yet to pay $4+ - the last time I bought gas it was $3.93, but that shows you how quickly it's gone up since it's been less than two weeks since I last bought it.

Footprints, how was your power nap?

Nicki, those are great songs, however, it was more disco when I was in high school.  I wanted to tell Iris how happy for her she got a hugagan.  I loved all your rememberences of the years gone by and I realized it is my30th high school anniversary.  I graduated June 11, 1978. Wow, brings back memories.  The last reunion I attended was in 1998, and I haven't heard from any of my former classmates in quite some time.

I didn't think we had any closed beaches around here.  As far as I know, this is an open beach.

    Open Beach * Most definitely.

Take a stroll back to the beginning of this thread and see how beautifully it began.

A most kind, gentle and loving Breast Cancer survivor started this wonderful thread to bring support and happiness to all of us here at BCO.

So read back, enjoy the wonderful posts and grab a beach towel.

We do have beach babes who are here daily so we have developed a kinship and are welcoming to anyone who is here for support and a gentle place to meet.

Just ask anyone of our beach babes.

We do miss the wonderful BC survivor who created this thread out of the kindness of her heart.

    "Sisters are like angels,

    they lift us up

    to our own feet

    when our own wings

    have trouble remembering

    how to fly"

Hoping you will join me here where there is nothing to do but offer love, friendship, support and fun to each other. This journey is a tough one ... let's hold each other up, laugh when we can, cry when we need to, find hope, courage, strength and love with the help of one another. Fun and laughter is important .. it's good for the soul and it's Great medicine! Looking forward to seeing good friends and meeting new ones!
