i had the best day today -- in "my" life -- my regular trip to my original school for little ones w/special needs. i love May, as all the progress is so obvious..... i am well loved & exhausted by the end of the day (11 different classes!)
i wish i could somehow share this important place w/you.... some of the little moments/responses would have us all weeping. there are times when i pinch my lips to keep from losing it.
DH sent his secretary here to keep DD sane. sweetie.

I am getting alittle edgy cause of my cancer dr appt the 3 of June (he is new and I am not hearing good things) I am also looking around, Cause I want things taken care of(7nodes in thyroid never checked) Well I am going to relax like I am at a beach party with all my friends. Thanks for a the smile you share.

Are you with a medical group that if you don't feel comfortable with the new guy, you can switch oncologists?
I hope you find him/her to be just what you feel comfortable with.
A pleasant surprise so you feel all is going in the right direction.
I had hyperthyroid something after chemo and had to have one of my glands removed with surgery.
The last thing I wanted to do was go back into the hospital even for over night.
I hate hospitals.
They give me the creeps and I hate the smells.
One of my glands was bullying the other three and had to be taken out.
Now I'm fine, take an over the counter calcium with extra D daily and you can't even see the little scar in my neck.
Chemo sure attacks everything doesn't it.

Girls, I've read two articles already this week about keeping our teeth in control, clean and our gums healthy so our immune systems can fight other invaders.
Makes sense to me and I feel so good after getting all the cleaning, deep root cleaning (Yuck i know) done yesterday.

The relatives are arriving.
Some I could say "are landing" and I don't mean from an airplane.
I do look very forward to the wedding this weekend even though I kid about it.

Neesie - I am guilty of having an imagine of you living on a big farm. But to some of the uptown girls here... 2 acres is a huge playground.
We live on 4 acres no animals and have our own airport hanger.....I kid you not! Previous owner was a pilot of small planes and used the backyard as a small runway. Stored his plane in the hanger. Here's proof .....Faith your DH will enjoy this picture.

Hi to all of the Beach Babes......................I've got another reason to hate May...........so this will be a short post....
On the good side.........my 2 teethies are doing fine and the artificial thingy in my mouth is doing pretty good.........................however, the reception/front desk girl at my Dentist office....................she has been there 20 years..............3 weeks ago when I went for my impressions she wasn't there...had called in sick....not like her to do that and leave them in limbo. Yesterday, I asked about her and they told me she would be off for a while as she had Pneumonia and they were running some test on her at the hospital.......................after today I asked the Assistant that was with me, "What's 'really' up with Jennifer?"..............She walked me out to the lobby that was empty and told me that She had passed away yesterday morning..................WTH! The assistant said that the Doctor wanted to tell me himself, but couldn't do it..................I don't know if they knew while I was there yesterday, but have a feeling they had just found out. He was worried about me driving after the procedure and then hearing the news........very nice man. But, how the He** he managed to do my teeth is beyond me.........................
I don't even know if I should write how she died here........but I have a pit in my stomach and if I do, I might feel better. 47 years old and she died of a very aggressive Cancer..........I guess a few months ago they DX with COPD and in the past 3 weeks they found cancer and it had already spread to her lungs, brain and liver...................................This flipping crap has got to stop.............How in the name of God can we stop this disease??????
Sorry if I bummed anyone out............but like I said........another May death...........I swear, if I die in May.........please make sure they just put me on ice and do nothing until June!
If I don't get back tonight...........I'll catch all in the morning!

You know that you're in trouble when:
****You buy flowers to "brighten" up your attitude while gathering groceries for the pantry BUTTTTTTTTTTT
****You discover said 'brighten-up flowers' still sitting in your DD's car 3 days later when you are searching frantically to find that blasted paperwork that needs to be completed by tomorrow morning before dawn.
Compared to nEEsie's story above this is just another footnote on how dingy my current situation is..... and hopefully it will provide a giggle for someone in another zip code.
Mean time: send the cabana boys quickly with reinforcements that have experience with infants & toddlers!!
Wings: my DH would go seriously crazy over your backyard possibilities. He is still devoted to owning his own little bird.... it's been a while since he's landed on a grass strip, tho. Where there's a will there's a way?

Had my 4 month onc appt today - I'm good to go for another 4 months. I don't graduate to 6 month appts until after 5 years, so I have a while to go. Dentist appt tomorrow morning so won't be back until at least tomorrow afternoon.
Sahalie, my turn for the dentist tomorrow but it's just a regular cleaning. Have fun with the wedding this weekend.

Wingers.... too funny. I type nEEsie, because I was making the same mistake myself for weeks on end. Finally noticed. funny funny.
You'll all be so happy for me. I'm safely here at the retreat/state park -- and I have a 4 HOUR break before presenting again this afternoon. Unheard of! And they let me in my room early. AND I have internet!!
So I'm going to attempt to unearth my calendar & get caught up on long overdue correspondence.

I'm busy being a stick in the mud today over my scan results. I am stable and thats a great thing but I didnt want stable. I wanted GONE! I am greatful but still,,,grrrrrrr. Continue on with Abraxane and tykerb so in other words, continue being bald. I'm so tired of this crap!

Shhhh, I'm sneaking in a quick note as my bungalow is overflowing with aliens.
Honestly tho' all is going pretty smooth.
I had a great fun visit with an out of towner relative today and was fun catching up.
My bungalow is maxed out and had to make an emergency trip to Le Tarjet' for much needed twalet paper.
Food, what's food? This is breaking the bank.
Tomorrow I'm going to sit back and take it all in ...liquid and eatables.
Oh and CAKE. Can't forget the cake.
Family members are driving other family members el nutso with cell phone calls begging for directions.
I hear noise so better make this fast.

I'm at 6 month check ups now and see my oncologist in July.
My anxiety is peaking just thinking of blood work and waiting for results.

Sahalie, the onc doesn't do any follow up work at all except to check me out. No blood work, no scans, nothing, which I find worrisome but I know if I felt something was wrong, he would fix it for me.

The day is really lovely here-quiet. Hope everyone has a great time wherever you are today and doing all the Beach or other activities.
Sahalie-loved that abt the trip-sometimes all those bare necessities are really high on our lists-were at work,esp.I love La Tarjet-red and white my credit cd's delight!LOL. Hope the wedding is really fun and wedding cake and the nibbles-or nibblers,divine. Hope all the guests are having good chats-amazing how many things happen in weddings and the dynamics.Weddings are interesting,for real. Ready for the beach activities as I hv bn non-stop eating for too long. Good luck on the med vis as I just know it will be good-sorry,I forgot when and will lose TinyTimscreen to return.I say we,all,go island hopping and bopping. That would be so relaxing and wild;one day...

Footprints-always so good to read abt your day and hear what you are doing. What do you hv planned for the wkend? How is your weather? I helped my mother in the yd and it was getting hot this aft. June is the time for our heat to come rolling in and hopefully,less humidity for awhile,anyway. Thinking of you and hv a good Sat.
Faith-your rm sounded good w/internet,the setting and the break. Hope it was fun and not too hot there. Funny abt the flowers as I do things like that quite frequently. You hv so many things you are doing that I bet your lists make lists,or so it might feel. I do make lists and lose them. Last trip back to my hm,I left meds at parents'house. Turned arnd abt an hour away,went bck as mailing them would hv taken longer and who knows if that would work today's world? I just laughed after I said a few words I learned frm the schlkids! Ha! My brain is not as fast these days-age,craziness and for sure,bearlysane! I left meds at my house-this time,it will be something else. The aroma is sometimes too strong and sweet-love the delicate blossoms and the color. Hv a great wkend!
