Good morning Beach angels.  Happy Tuesday!

Faith -- I sure hope whatever this rash is that it clears up quickly now.  Good for you for seeking help.  I think for those of us who did chemo that our skin is so much more sensitive to everything now.  I only need a touch of sun for my arms to be bright red now.

Margo -- I will keep you hubby in my thoughts and prayers.  Here's hoping for good news and clear margins.

Sahalie -- our lovely cruise director -- I hope you survive all this heat.  Its something we've learned to live with in the south.  Of course, we've learned that when its 'hot as hades' you sit inside in with the air conditioner full blast with an ice cold southern tea (more sugar than tea and comes with a shot of insulin) and watch Oprah. :)

Neesie -- I hope these new clients don't keep you too busy to check in and share with us but I'm happy you are getting clients.

Wings -- I loved your pictures from the walk and thank you for including my name.

We had a huge thunderstorm move through last night and when I woke up this morning all my clocks were blinking.  For a moment I thought it was Christmas and I had left the tree lights on.  But when I went outside with my coffee, everything was an amazing shade of new green and all the colors of the flowers were vibrant.  It was like God and recreated everything and it was a new day.

    Surprise song of the day!

My BIL and SIL were here last night and Joe just took them to the airport so they could catch a flight to FL.

Sahalie, enjoy the weather today - going to be warm again.

Ladies, thanks for your well wishes for Joe.  I think things will be fine - I refuse to think otherwise.  He's handling this very well.

Time to get moving.  Have a good day.

    a new day dawns indeed...........

creeping crud seems to have been arrested and detained --

the masses that had arisen are moving into the weeping & oozing stage, but hopefullllly that too, will be stalled by the steroids

i know this is such a temporary situation, but it's really knocked me for an emotional loop none-the-less..... i'm so glad that i have this place and each of you, to share my cares. in the grand sceme of things here i know it's the equivalent of a mosquito bite, particularly amist the concerns we have among us.

this time last year i was itching like a madwoman -- in the midst of the rads burn.... i suppose this episode is taking me back to some of that unresolved emotional landmine.

woke up @ 4, in midst of hotflash and i was scratching like a dog, in my sleep -- got everything all stirred up

well enough about my inconvenience.... the heartbreak is that i've had to give up all gardening, and i soooooo loved the digging & the tending of flowers -- that painting with colors

margo: you're an example of strength & i'm learning from you

jaz: starting the day in song lightens my mood, welcome home

footie: prayers to you as you await the onc visit

wings: wonder what projects you have up your sleeve for today?

amy: keeping you close in prayer always

sahalie: DH has snorkling adventures scoped out. you'd approve

nEEsie: find some time for yourself in all the activity

iris: are you in big-town or smallville? gone back to volunteer?

    susan: hope you're keeping cool

    Good morning beach wonderful ladies.

I just finished playing musical watering the yards as it will be another scorcher here today.

Some people even have beach umbrellas covering yard plants from the blistering burning of the sun.

    I kid you not.

    Seems like a good idea.

    *

Faith, Look where you are going!

If it's like Bora Bora you won't believe the flowers everywhere and the scent of the flowers, the shades of everything there.

I am so excited for you and your dh.

    *

Faith, Hallelujah your creeping cruds is under control.

Is it kind of like poison oak?

That stuff has done me in ...in years past.

If I see a red leaf anywhere this time of year I have to don my hazmat gear and run in the opposite direction.

    I hope it clears pronto.

Do the doctors still give the prednisone shots for that?

I know what you mean about gardening as I love to do the same.

Your gardens will be waiting till you are able to tend to them once again.

You may have a few new residents but with a quick pull the remedy is in action.

Full beauty of garden bliss is back again.

    Snorkeling.  Wonderful.

Anything you do there on Aruba will be tons of fun even just throwing down your towel, flipping off your flops and laying on the beach all day with a corona or tasty refreshing tea, etc. to quench your thirst.

Then run into the blues of the waves and fall into instant gratification of coolness.

Margo,  Thank you for the update on Joe.

Amy,  Thinking of you and what costume trinkets to add to your water ski outfit.

    Neesie, What a busy schedule.

Try to post some Neesie news when you can K.

Foots, Thank you AngelPrintsbabe for your wonderful loving supportive posts.

Iris,  The bearCapeeeeeeetan needs you front and center for a deck check on the boat to Aruba.

Wings,  Are you redecorating your lighthouse with Home and Garden

    fun things right now.

I love those shows and all the helpful hints.

Jaz,  The song equals Thank YOU equals we have the best song maestro ever.

    Kudos and Frisbies.

    Hold the tomato!

    *

"Federal health warning prompts some growers, restaurants to stop selling, using certain varieties."

    *

Tomato's don't seem to be feeling themselves these days so please read up on what to look for during the Salmonella scare.

We went to get deli sandwiches yesterday and all the tomato's were removed from the deli by the owner as precaution.

I bought a group of the red round ones at Whole Foods the other day with stems attached and they are supposed to be OK but I don't want to chance it.

I look forward to our home grown wonders.

Just a heads up on our juicy friend.

Sahalie -- I've been watching the news on this too.  I wonder why the ones with the vines attached are deemed safe.  Is there something that increases the salmonella risk when the vines/stems are detached?  I love tomatoes and usually get the campari tomatoes at Sam's here.  They are delicious.

I don't know why the stems make a difference other than maybe it has something to do with where they originate.

The tiny sticker on my big reds say they come from Canada.

    Sahalie,

Not to intrude, but I just wanted to comment on the beautiful blue colours of that iguana you posted.  Which reminds me, Tennessee Williams wrote a lot of intriguing plays, and I do love the Lizard King, so it's all good.  Guess I'm weird like that, with the word association.

Anyhow, just to clear up any confusion, this is what I really look like.  Mother of the bride.

    Have A GREAT DAY!

Sahalie -- fortunately the farmers market has opened for the season here and I will just make the extra effort to go there for my produce at least until this all gets investigated.  I'm surprised its taking them so long to find the source of the tomatoes causing the outbreak.

Blue, you and your daughter (I guess I'm assuminig it's your daughter) are beautiful.  I love where the picture is taken.

We just went to the grocery store and the shelves with tomotoes were empty, except for the ones with stems.  We stopped at Taco Bell and they had a big sign out front that said "NO TOMATOES".  It was interesting.

Good Evening Beach Angels.  Even though its evening here the temp is still in the high 80's.  By the time is cool enough to go outside to take care of the yard the mosquitoes will be out in full force.  It seems that early morning is the only time to get any work outside done.  It is really odd since we shouldn't be this hot for several months.

Sahalie  -- what wonderful activities do you have planned for us tonight?  Don't forget to bring the lovely drinks so we can all cool down.

Faith -- how is babytown?  Is the rash better?  Remember not to scratch.  Isn't that what our mothers always told us?  :)

Wings -- where are you lately?  I hope thibgs are going well for you.

FPAngel -- FPA please let us know how you are doing.

Neesie  -- how are the new clients working out?  I hope we get to see you soon.  You always bring us such fun stores.

Amy -- how are you feeling these days?

Susan -- it sounds like things are looking up for you.

Margo -- any word on DH yet?

Dear Beach Friends -- please don't lose heart.  Trials come to make us stronger and the bonds we have forged in such a short time are strong.  Where there are two or three gathered, God will answer.

    Dear Lord

I pray for each of my Beach sisters above and those who watch us from afar.  Please give them strength, patience, and courage. Heal those who are dealing with health issues and give them the hope to continue to believe that all things are possible.

    Jaz, Musical tribute at Fernando's.

Loving this blissful day plus it's only 88* today with a really nice breeze.

Did you read the article on the bug infestation and how they were found going around and around in circles?

There is a study being done by Vanderbilt.

    Fernando time.

    Jasmine,

The prayers you wrote for all of us are beautiful and so true.

Thank you from my heart for what you wrote.

Life does throw us curve balls every once in awhile but we are strong, we can overcome and adapt.

    Persevere.

I too pray for all the women here on the board and on our beach who are going through so much.

We make light here to bring a smile perhaps a laugh to ones heart in all the seriousness we endure.

So much for one person to go through so a family of survivors is just what we need.
So we find a comfy spot, dig our toes into the sand since we are on a beach with this thread and we put our arms around the person next to us, smile a warm smile and give uplifting friendship to one another.

When adversity wanders in we sometimes draw back just like when waiting for news we think could be negative.

We go within ourselves, maybe pop out now and then to say hello and let our friends know why we are so quiet and not around as much.

Until we get the news that all is well we are in a zone of raw nerve endings.

Some reach into our zone to give love and support.

Others have their own agenda to disrupt the status quo.

Which ever is the case, we are friends here.

We have been here for one another for quite awhile now.

    Love, companionship and support.

That is what we are all about.

And on a beach.  Doesn't get much better than that.

    Surf's up babes.

Ride with the wind and keep the sand flies to your backside.

Look at the waves, feel the grains of sand beneath your feet.

    It's all waiting for you.

It is all waiting for me...... for us!!

"One happy island. One happy island. One happy island. One happy island."

    Ommmmmmmmmm

You'll all be pleased to know that I took nEEsie's advice and got two sunskirts -- as those choices were so much fun. One off-white linen, with flair and insets of ivory lace, that will be very sophisticated for an evening dinner with candles down on the beach and one salsa- sliced w/madcap colors that will twirl fantastically under the lights on the dance floor. Gotta be certain that I have the top halves to match. What? More retail therapy ahead?

Sahalie I find such solice in the pic posted above...... it completely echos the heart-felt sentiments of Jaz' prayers. I love having prayers come to the beach. Thank you. Brilliant idea.

Hugs and happiness to each in flip flops.

The winds will shift and tranquility will return to our bay. I just know it. I belive it with my whole heart. That's the nature of storms. They rattle around but then blow on thru, out to sea.

Some of Footie's high calibar lemonaid for each and all.

Faith -- those sunskirts sound so cute!  I haven't been clothes shopping on so long.  I get discouraged with all my weight gain that I dread the thought of trying to find something to fit that doesn't make me look like my grandmother.

It's so much fun to read about you getting ready for this trip to Aruba that its almost like I'm going on a trip too.

How are our beach babies doing?  Has anyone seen a post anywhere from Emelee lately?  I wonder how she is doing.

WARNING..........................If you are short and over 50.............retail therapy can be dangerous to your self esteem...........................Have you all seen what is out there???????????????  I tried on a couple tops today.......I seriously looked like a 53 (and holding) year old PREGNANT lady.  Love the looser styles, but come on.................another 'top' I had to ask if it was a dress or a shirt..................and WHY is everything sleeveless this year???? Or they have these little poofie cap sleeves with elastic in them.....Now, that's what I want to do...............accent my 'bus driver' flab!!!!

My DH looked at the sundresses and said it reminded him of Laugh-In back in the day..... what year was that? OpArt colors & designs.

kinda funny. I don't get the maternity top look of so much of what is available either?? no thanks.

OMG!  What's next the peasant blouse style?  I didn't like the poofy cap sleeves when I was a twenty something and I'm quite sure that hasn't changed.

I've been watching the What Not to Wear show waiting for them to dress someone with an 'apple' belly like mine but wouldn't you know that even the 'overweight' contestants still have somewhat of an hourglass shape there to work with.  There is no 'hourglass shape' left for me to even try to emphasize.

Just give the red santa parka with the white fur collar and get it over with already.  I refuse to dress like my grandmother.  Santa is the better alternative.

That's my rant and I'm sticking to it....:)

Faith -- I still have my mood ring and necklace from the 70's if you want to accessorize those 'laugh in' dresses.  ROFL!

I have a great watch left from high school. The watch band is about 3 inches wide..... the face is black and hot pink and about 3.5 inches across. I've gotten it back out again recently, but needs to have a new battery before I can wear it again. Funny. What goes around comes around, huh?

I had a peasant blouse with hand embroidery from actual peasants that I loved -- all thru the 80's and it finally disintegrated. LOL

Blue, beautiful pic.  Where was it taken?

Sahalie, I wish I was at the beach now.

Jaz, still waiting for results....you know the drill.....the waiting is the hardest part.  I watch What Not To Wear all the time.  I tape all the new ones.  I am a ruler type, no hourglass at all.

Neesie, I know what you mean, as I am short and over 50!  I hate sleeveless because I have humungous arms.

    Footprints, good luck tomorrow.

Faith, those babies are beautiful, front and back.
