LIFES A BEACH!

We are still in FL, beach-side @ Daytona Beach.
It's Spring Break central.
Today the entire 12 hours of waking time was a tornado watch/monsoon/downpouring day.
The entire day.
Thanks heavens we're NOT in a hotel room!
Hopefully tomorrow's an outdoor day.
We will have to leave on Sat to head north.
I have an event in Louisville KY, then a quick hop to OH to see those wonder-peeps. Then to Indianapolis for another conference. We will then zip back to Columbus just as soon as that one's done -- a week from this Sat and then fly out to Europe early dawn on Sunday.
That's 2.5 weeks in Europe.
Then return for our Ohio state conference. Three weeks in Ohio for those end-of-year schools.
THEN head north............
Got it?
LOL.
It's confusing to me & I 'know' what supposed to happen 'next.'

Hoping for one day of fun-in-the-sun, tomorrow.
Edited to add a picture at the top of the page!
Here's a picture from a couple of years ago............

LOL Sharon!! I think that might be PERFECT. And it probably wouldn't take too big of a shower curtain?? hmmmmm thanks for thinking of me:) hehe I'll show DH.
Hey Barbe!! Thank you for the good information. You answered all my questions. I REALLY wanted crushed ice, but we HAD to go with the cabinet depth and the salesman said there wasn't room in that particular fridge for crushed ice, but I do have cubed ice and water. And a bottom freezer. I think I'll really enjoy that. I have a side by side now and just hate it.
Safe travels Faithie and Mum!!!!! Looking forward to all the pictures!!!!
Sending all you beachies big hugs today!!!!!!!! Have a wondermous weekend!!!

Mum those pictures are, as always, just beyond words. We have red tail hawks where we live and I feel so incredibly blessed when I get to see one flying overhead - takes your breath away.
Coonie, I'm so sorry I missed your bday. I think I gave an early bday wish, but meant to come back on the day itself!!! You're right that the 30th was Saint's anniv'y. I can't believe it's been a year already. Faith, I'm sure you knew it on the day, I confess I knew ahead of time, but then forgot on the day itself. I hurt But to celebrate my love for her, I post this pic which was one of her favorite movies and held a special memory for the two of us.
I love you all.

We have departed the physical beach of FL...... for the season.
Been in the car for 2 hours and the GPS says 12.5 more to go.
Connection seems to be very finick-ie today.
We had one full day of sun, sand and fun..... plus a couple of hours this morning.
Pictures and more pictures.
Sending love.
Starting today, this is probably the most hectic/dramatic/delightful opportunity filled six weeks since I've joined BCO. I have a sense that I will be here less & less frequently for this time frame.
Hopefully I can check in periodically and splash out some love.
Know that I treasure all of you and send you joy at every opportunity.

Our beaches last weekend were full... think it was spring break for everyone.

Hi Beachettes! Wow, do I have a lot of catching up to do! I'm still recovering from an exhausting move. I love it here! It was a leap of faith to come, I've only seen Pensacola before this move, and I am so glad we did it. I believe my son will do well here. He loves it. We went to Cocoa Beach yesterday, so I will load a pic soon. There is a pond with herons outside my window, so I will stalk them with my camera for you guys, too. I miss you all!

Miss B-good to see you!

MissB I'm so glad you're settled in ... I know how much you were looking forward to this - congrats!
Our dd is flying home from Hong Kong at this very moment. 15 1/2 hours on a plane, not sure I could do that! Any late nighters who come in - I'd appreciate any and all good wishes/prayers/karma that you can spare. I'm looking forward to that call or text after 1:30 tomorrow with her name on my cell phone
Nothing can calm like the water ... at least that's how it affects me. So here's my offering for tonight, from my own stash of pics from our Hideaway Beach on the Delaware Bay. We'll be back there very, very soon, once the damn local temps get over 50!!!

Golly lots of beach reports.
Welcome to FL MissyB. I am so delighted on your behalf. I know the move will take a while to genuinely settle in, but having Disney accessible for your son's love & his new school sound so delightful. As you moved in, we moved out. LOL. Holding the FL population about steady.
The water is such a stabalizing/calm agent for me.
Waves no waves big waves crashing waves calm waves: love it all.
Watching the sun rise over these TN/KY mountains is a nice way to start a new day, too.

Yesterday, our drive out of FL was door-to-door (or bumper-to-bumper) with every spring break/snowbird season departing -- this morning we're able to make actual progress. Still hours from Louisville.

Yikes! You're going to have to time your exodus a bit better next year...didn't think of the returning snowbirds now, did you?

Timing is everything.
Learned in retrospect.
All those who rent Jan/Feb/Mar were in with the spring break departure line, going NO where efficiently.
NOTE TO SELF:

Must be Springtime

Lisa, we spent 2 weeks golfing in Loreto one year. We went over the top to Magdalena Bay to visit with the baby Gray whales. The moms bring them to the bay to meet humans, then the male does a breach and we all leave. It was breath-taking!!!!

Dear SoCAlLisa, Your pictures are just beautiful. My husband and I are headed to the South Bay area in CA in Sept. Your pictures are just the medicine I need until I get there. Thanks so much, Kathy

gorgeous pics everyone, and great story Barbe!!
Blondie we'll have to see if we can plan to be in the same place at the same time down the shore this summer - that would be cool

for sure Marlegal!!!

Note to room: Blondie and I live about 10 minutes apart, but we're planning to meet up at New Jersey's southern shore, which is about a 90 minute drive for each of us - is that funny or what?? Classic example of being too busy at home to connect! Blondie...I'll make sure you make it to the next gathering of local chatters/boarders one way or the other! I know you were away the last time we met up for lunch. One of these days

Today in the midst of all of the hustle & bustle of the conference, there was a break in the exhibit hall for the keynote presentation.
Here's what happend. Two of my fellow BCO Team January "sistahs" came and we had a 67 minute hug & laughter session. (Each of us had our BC surgeries all a year ago Jan)
From left Gina, moi and Robin
Have I told you how much I love traveling about and getting to meet fellow survivors from BCO -- IN REAL LIFE!!!!!

They came up to my "booth" in the exhibit hall.
The quilts behind me are the 'illustrations' I created for my first picture book.

Dear Faithandfifty, Such a wonderful picture!!!! thanks for sharing!

Love it Lisa! It's was a rather quiet town when we were there. In fact, while we were there, the name of our hotel "changed"!!! The Mexican government has a weird habit of taking over successful businesses. At least they did in those days...1998 or so? When were your pics Lisa?
Faith, it never ends. Happy, happy, joy, joy!
