(Speaking of 'rubbers' which covered the shoes when it rained.....my dad always wore them, and apparently my mom did all his shopping, because after she died he went into a shoe store and told the young clerk that he wanted to buy some 'rubbers'. She turned bright red and told him he would need to go to the drug store. Which he did.....and was pretty embarassed when he realized that 'rubbers' had a new meaning!)
