Soteria205, I take the amount recommended on the bottle, a capful, every morning dissolved in chocolate milk or hot chocolate. I did take one Colace daily also the day of my first treatmen and for a couple days after. Since then, just the Miralax. Of course, I'm still a newbie, since I'm only having my second treatment this week.

Dear Soteria,
You are welcome. Don't worry. You are almost through. Stay hydrated and eat whatever and whenever you can. Now that you are on Taxol, you have your appetite back? I have a similar dx and tx as you. I might suggest you get yourself a good sunscreen for your scalp (I got Baby Blanket Scalp spray from Babies r us). I had hair down to the small of my back, but I am not expecting locks to blow in the ocean breeze this summer. Doesn't matter. It will grow back.
Take care everyone and hoping for a speedy recovery...and hair growth.0 -

Right around this time three years ago, I started losing my hair, 14 days after first TC chemo. I was walking in a stiff spring breeze and hairs were floating off my head like dandelion fluff.
Before first infusion, I had donated my long hair to Locks of Love. Got a really cute bob cut out of the deal. Once hair started coming out in earnest, I got it buzzed to a half-inch. Didn't want to shave my head and deal with nubs.
Not a wig or scarf person so went commando most of the time, including at work, but wore a baseball cap to avoid sunburn while out walking. Had enough hair by Labor Day to call it hair. Loved the soft curls that came in. Wish they'd stayed but it went back to being straight. I've kept it short because it's so easy-care. Everyone is different but that's my experience. Hoping your SE's are few and mild.

Hello, this is my first post, I started act chemo on February 21. I had the normal side effects with dose 1 and 2 (nausea, constipation, fatigue, etc.). The third dose was a different story, I was so exhausted I couldn't get up, ended up my red blood cells were very low, so I had three iron infusions last week, then my white blood cells tanked (.400), so I am getting daily neupogen shots. I also received neulasta shot the day after each chemo. My question is if anyone has experienced this also, I have been mostly in bed for 7 days now. I am getting frustrated. Thanks for your help.

Lori~~I finished Adria/cytoxan on Feb. 8th. Friday I had the 5th of 12 weekly Taxol. My AC was every three weeks, so even without Neulasta, I always bounced back, but now with weekly treatments Im struggling. My neutrophils were below 1 on Friday. I'm really praying they rebound quickly so I don't have any treatments delayed. I really want to stay on schedule.
I've had no nausea with any of my chemo, but with AC I dealt with fatigue, faintness, shortness of breath, and dead skunk tastebuds. Several days after my final AC, I developed a blood clot in my leg, so I'm on Lovenox injections twice daily. I guess I have to do that until I finish chemo. I'm sure that was related to chemo in that I was so inactive because of SEs.
I hope this gets better for you really soon.
Blessings

hi Lori5B, I had TC chemo - taxotere and cytoxan - and didn't need shots or transfusions so my experience is different than yours. But I wanted to say welcome to BCO and send you a ((hug)).
