Holy cow, Jb!!! What an amazing and exciting opportunity! Yes, please keep us posted! I don't think you should have to shave your head either, but I understand if you do.

well...major anticlimax here.
Email from the show they only want 'bald women' for the show. I said I would shave my head if they would allow me to show Sassy Head and the declined.

awww... jbokland that is such a shame... and I feel a little upset with their attitude since not too long ago you were bald and now have a product to help those that are bald now...

What if you took bald woman with you?

sometimes I feel like I will never cut my hair again. I would never shave it again. Not for anybody.

I am two years PFC and I still have not regrown/restored my pre-chemo hair. I started hormonal therapy 3 weeks following my last chemo treatment so I had no time for hair to even begin to regrow before it began to shed and fall out. My hair is to my collar now, however, it is so very very thin on top my scalp is very visible. I do not leave the house without something covering my head. I began by covering it with a full wig and even now I have to wear a wiglet that covers the top portion of my head. It is human hair and can be dyed to match my dyed hair. I tried using Rogaine hoping it would help fill in bald areas, but it did not. I don't believe I will ever get my hair back and it is most depressing. I always had great hair. Losing my breasts has not impacted me as much as losing my hair.

me too. It's hard to forget about this when you have to look in the mirror at really short hair. It is depressing. I am sick of wearing wigs and having short hair. My hair is growing on thick so I'm sorry sherry. Hugs

I offered to take my good friend who is my Sassy Head model during her treatment. No go it's ok, I had a great weekend in upstate NY at a motorcycle poker run for a local survivor. They put her in a pink stretch limo to be included on the beautiful mountain ride. Sassy Head was a huge success with many of the riders putting the designs on their helmets and big tough bikes adorning their heads.

good attitude - it is still a shame and it would have added so much to the show..

I'm a biker in MN, and would LOVE to have this shown on some of the big rides!!

jbok - That is awesome! you're a real "mover and a shaker" as the old saying goes!
And hair update: A decent portion of the fuzzies on my head are starting to look long and more like white hair. Then I will have to take arimidex (please no hair loss!)

noonrider. This one looks great on helmets. The sun makes them sparkle!

Jbokland, Was it Good Morning America or the Today show you had a chance at appearing with Joan Lunden? Whichever, it is their great loss. You would have been an awesome guest. I love your spirit and positive posts. It was your post that made me think I could have my port removed in the surgeon's office rather than a whole big deal in the hospital. I am so grateful to you for that. And I love your Sassy designs and wish you the very best with that.I'm really sorry they are insisting on someone who is currently bald to appear on the show. I wonder if she will appear bald?? I hope she speaks candidly about her DX and treatment as she has triple negative bc and so little is known about it unless, like me, you have a TN diagnosis.

jb, I agree, their loss. It would have been a great story, but then we are biased! I was so excited for you. I was telling my family about you and your idea. I love your designs and hoping you do well with it! I hope Joan londen wears it! Your model looks very athletic! And I was in that same limo at the komen race in Albany 2 weeks ago. It must stay in the area for benefits, PR etc (me and my sister below)
Mommom, I'm TN also and I hate hearing that she has a "rare and difficult to treat cancer"

Hah! Small world!!

Lorbgoo, Bosumblues,
Thanks for understanding. May I ask where you obtain your wigs, hairpieces. I live in a very small community and nearest city is 2.5 hours away, so I order online through vogue.com. But I am so very tired of wigs. Staying positive have to say most don't know I'm wearing them as they really have come a long way and look quite natural. Just wish they weren't so darn hot!

Sherry - try the American Cancer Society's site just to get some ideas - link below. I bought my wig from a place in town since I felt I needed the advice. After that i did buy a "halo" from TLC (ring of hair that peeks out from your hat or scarf). Also bought a ball cap w/shoulder length "hair" attached online but can't remember the web site. Good luck.

my first haircut 5 1/2 mo this post chemo! It wasn't very long, maybe 1 1/2-2" but I wanted a better shape. It was kind of looking like a ball, poodle, top of a bad q-tip, you get the picture. Keeping the color for now. He took a lot off the back and sides and nothing off the top or front. ( I don't know why one pic is so big and the other small??)

Lisa, I LOVE your haircut!!! It looks very nice and stylish.
I *think* my hair is starting to curl. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. LOL It's about 1/2 in long and starting to bend.

Lisa, Looks so cute!! You give me hope that I will feel comfortable going topless by Christmas. Lol at your bad Q tip description!

Lisa -its beautiful!

this is me before. I wore it curly and I colored it. I didn't realize how gray I was until it started coming back in but my hairdresser today said that it looks more gray than it was prior. It's naturally curly

Lisa, From what I've heard, I think after about a year, your hair can revert back to its previous color and texture. I liked it dark too, but you look great with the gray - or is it white?
0 -
Lisa - it looks great both ways.

Bosum, Yes, I think a year or later is pretty common. I would love to know how often that occurs, but as in reactions to treatment, everyone differs. My hair was thick and stick straight. Always wanted curly hair. But at this growth level, it looks straight to me at 10 weeks PFC. However, I think I recall a post that said it may not curl until 3 months or so?

Lisa,
Your hair looks great! I am so envious. Mine has returned so thin and in some areas, no hair at all. I hope once I complete my 5 years of anastrozole it may come back somewhat, but not holding my breath.
