wow, maybe mine would be that long if I didn't cut it...or it wasn't so curly. Looks great and the color is pretty. When it comes to 6-8mo after pfc no one would even know what we went through by our looks. I am keeping my hair short, that's what I've decided looks best on me with it so gray. We are all beautiful inside and out. I remember coming on this forum often to look at hair pictures. It kept me hopeful and I thought everyone looked so beautiful with their short hair coming in

I posted this a few days ago but will post again. This is 6 months PFC. Its about 2- 2 1/2inches long. Its just starting to lose the baby-soft texture. It is stick straight and I can't do anything with it. My cowlick has just gotten to the point where it stands straight up in the air unless I glue it down. My hair was black prior to chemo. LOTS of silver in it now!

You all look gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing your pictures! I can't wait to have  hair. It's growing a teeny bit and it was pretty dark before with no grey but I have lots of grey coming through!

Hair update at 5 months PFC. I have had 3 hair cuts now to trim up the edges and even things out. Still have wave and I was always stick straight before. Lots of gray highlights I'm still getting used to also. All you gals look beautiful with your new hair!

Okay, I'm finally got an appointment to get my first hair cut since I got my hair back. I'm starting to accept my chemo curls. My hair before Felix (my cancer's name) was fine and straight, now it's froish. I'm also thinking of dying my hair. I never have done a dye job. Maybe going Marilyn. What do you think?

For those wondering about hair growth after certain types of chemo, I had 4 rounds of Taxotere & Cytoxan.

Before chemo, my hair was long (mid back, down to my bra strap) but very fine & silky, like baby's hair. It's grown back thicker, coarser, & curlier. My eyebrows used to be very bushy (I'd get them waxed & plucked), & now they're patchy & I can go 2 months w/out having them done. My eyelashes have always been so long, I don't wear mascara bec. it gets on my eyeglasses (I can't wear contacts). A few lashes fell out during chemo, but they're back now. I was 44 during chemo, & it's been over a year. Here's a recent photo (sorry it's big, it's from my blog) -

Hi, I have not been on in a while because well, I think there comes a point where you just have too much information and that isn't really a good thing. I was upsetting myself and decided to take a break. However, I wanted to give some unsolicited advice. Biotin is something we all have heard about and hope will work miracles. I was taking biotin that you just swallow. My doctor told me to take the sublingual type. This is supposed to be better. I think it is helping, but of course there is mo way to know for sure. I just wanted to share the wealth.

    Take care!

MeToo, I understand what you mean about having to stay away. I have experienced that myself from time to time. Thank you for passing along the advice about Biotin. My hair is coming back fairly well (nothing to compare it to, though) and I have been taking that form of Biotin. I'm about 8 weeks PFC and have good coverage. It isn't very long, but it seems to be coming back evenly with no bare patches.

CassieCat - It took about 4 weeks PFC for the top to start coming in. My hair started growing back during Taxol, so I had some on the sides and back before I was done with chemo (though next to nothing on top). That helped I'm sure. It is coming in fast thank goodness!

I lucked out and didn't lose all of my lashes or brows. They're thin but decent looking. Hopefully in another couple of weeks we'll both see more growth. :)

so how about annie lennox's hair on the grammy's! She's still got it and looks awesome with her classic annie Lennox short hair. We all know that hair style don't we? And it looks great. That's who some people said I looked like when my hair was coming in, I was flattered.

Mommom, you also have her look with your fair skin and clear blue eyes.

Wishing everyone fast regrowth and a rockin' pixie hairstyle

7 months PFC and my eyebrows are falling out again. What's up with that?

How about the "other" hair? All my hair (in every place) came back as normal. I needed to shave my legs as often as I did before chemo. Until about a month ago when it all changed. I shaved my legs and armpits two weeks ago and I still don't have stubble. I wonder what will happen if I shave my pubes? Hopefully the same thing!

Homemom - You might be on to something!!! I was reading through this, as I have passed my 4th round of TCH and have 2 more to go...starting to really miss having hair. At any rate, I began losing my hair almost exactly 2 years ago. I used to have very thick, healthy hair and on my 40th birthday, started noticing it become very thin in the front and on the sides. Not a male-patterned baldness, just a frontal thinning. In fact, that is what started all of this in the first place, my hair thinning! I had started taking synthroid, thinking it was my thyroid...nope. Then I finally went to the dermatologist in early August. He found melanoma in-situ on my back, which scared me enough to remember my bi-annual mammogram, which then found the BC. I honestly believe that my hair thinning began with the early stage of my cancer. There is absolutely zero family history of male or female balding - in fact, my 72 year old dad still has a head full of hair. At any rate, I will let everyone know how the hair re-growth goes, but I do have hope! Thank you for sharing!
